La décoration parfois désuète mais charmante avec de beaux meubles et objets. La situation. L'atmosphère un peu à l'ancienne. Le breakfast très copieux. La literie très confortable. L'offre de dîner locale et bonne. ,

L'insonorisation n'est pas tout a fait parfaite. L'installation sanitaire correcte mais un peu vieillotte.

View over the loch during breakfast. Meals were delicious and little waiting time for them to arrive. Clean rooms, nothing to be negative over.

Pas de chauffage par 11 degrés dehors et à peine plus à l’intérieur. Lits trop courts limités aux personnes de moins de 170 cm j’ai eu froid aux pieds toute la nuit. Pas de salle de bain dans les chambres. Pas de mitigeur d’eau = eau très chaude ou eau très froide. Pas d’ascenseur, il faut porter sa valise sur deux étages en montant comme en descendant. Chambres très bruyante, à côté de la route très passante toute la nuit . Pas de doubles vitrages air froid toute la nuit.

La gentillesse du personnel,

Dieses Hotel gleicht einer Filmkulisse. Besonders die Frühstücksräume mit der atembetaubenden Aussicht sind den Aufenthalt wert. Das Personal ist ausnahmslos freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sehr empfehlenswert ist auch das Restaurant.

Der Preis ist leider sehr hoch für die mittelmässige Ausstattung des Zimmers.

Hotel molto bello in una posizione ottima con camera vista mare. Abbiamo cenato nel ristorante, cibo ottimo servizio e cortesia eccellente. La colazione era ricca ed abbondante. Consigliatissimo.

An old, beautiful mansion. Very nice restaurant with great food. The staff in the reception, (Gregor) in the restaurant (Sofian) and during breakfast were welcoming.

The room and bed were a bit small but it was perfect for a one night stay.

Bathroom had no walk in shower and shower over bath had inadequate hand holds for guests with limited mobility.

We have stayed several times at the hotel many years ago, this time the room although very clean when we arrived, didn't seem to be cleaned properly during our stay.

This is the second time I have stayed here, and it just gets better! I was meeting up with an old friend, and couldn’t have had a better place for our reunion. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, the rooms are pleasant and the food both in the restaurant and breakfast is excellent. My friend and I have decided we must make this a yearly event!

Just got back from a three night stay. It was wonderful. The hotel itself is really nice with lovely views. My room was clean and comfortable and as a solo traveller I felt very safe. Breakfast was really good with a good selection to choose from. The staff in the dining room were great! 😊 I would definitely stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Can't fault anything

Breakfast, & the friendly service, was most enjoyable. The room was impeccably clean with modern amenities, yet had a nice homely feel. I did not take dinner at the hotel on this occasion but will definitely try it on a return trip.

Car parking slightly awkward

Lovely old hotel with nice atmosphere. Bedroom small but quite adequate. Very clean and staff were lovely. We ate in the bar and had a fabulous meal. Make sure you book though as they get very busy.

Inverness is a beautiful city and provides central location for Highlands. My room was in the club building. Everything was excellent. The room is spacious, clean, comfortable and was serviced daily by the housekeepers. The breakfast is excellent, the car park and the WiFi as well. The staff in general are really excellent.👍🏻 Breakfast is delicious and Erin and other colleagues are great.😊

L'annonce est trompeuse car l'hôtel ne se trouve pas à Oban mais à Connel où il n'y a pas grand chose à faire. Certe Oban n'est pas loin mais pour aller le soir boire un verre au pub, mise à part à notre hotel c'est difficile sans prendre la voiture.

I was upgraded to a nicer room than the one i had booked (with private bathroom rather than shared). Staff was very friendly. Food was really good. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable and with a very nice view on the sea.

Room was very good. Restaurant was fine, but we e-mailed in advance that we need Gluten Free for one of the family members. They e-mailed us back that there would be no problem. When we got there - there was no gluten-free bread or almost anything in the breakfast. They told us that there will be in the day after. Of course there was no gluten-free in the next morning. Our family member came out hungry...

Few minutes drive from Oban. Better stay here than in town if you like a stunning view in the morning, peace and good safe parking. The building WAS stunning in its old days. Architecturally is interesting. The layout COULD be great for a hotel.

This is managed like most UK hotels: bad in an unconscious way. It has been refurbished but all is wrong. Hard to explain without writing an essay: basically go to South Tyrol in Italy - all is perfect, good quality materials the best ever for parquet flooring wardrobes, plumbing, electric, sewages. In this hotel like in most in UK at this 3-4 star standard, they use bad synthetic carpets, poor quality mdf furniture, kitchen decorations, things are absolutely not clean clean…they are wiped, vacuumed not squeaky clean. Staff is not what you see in Switzerland or Austria or Italian tyrolean hotels: sharp, anticipating a guest, perfectly trained. This is the type of seasonal staff a bit scruffy, messy, serving greasy spoon type breakfasts. Basically the old school Industrial Revolution type building is no longer used as it was: is now sadly a remnant of a goneby era of service, style and cleanness. Check the photos…basically if they put new (bad quality) carpets, and new (bad quality bathroom fittings) and sell croissants from a packet and juices from the carton at breakfast…you know it is all wrong. If waiters have not ruined clothes, scruffy hair, address you with a “heo, hey, hi” we clearly get it: back to hospitality school.

Only thing I didn't like was the traffic noise from the road, the hotel can't do anything about that.

Das Haupthaus lässt einen in eine längst vergangene Zeit eintauchen. Das Restaurant ist sehr modern und die Küche ist gut. Das Frühstück wird regelrecht zelebriert. Schöner Garten

This is my go to Hotel if available when in Oban. Yes it's an older style hotel, but it's spotless, room is everything you need. Staff are exceptional, and on site restaurnat is very good.

Bel hôtel très typique. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le charme de cet hôtel ainsi que son personnel accueillant et professionnel. Les chambres étaient très confortables et bien équipées. Nous y avons passé une soirée et une nuit très agréable. Je recommande également le restaurant dans lequel nous avons très bien dîné.

Wow! We loved our stay here. All of the people were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and nothing was a bother. We had dinner there and it was the best meal we had in our time in Scotland. Our room was amazing. It looked out over the falls of Lora and the view was divine. It felt just like home but better. Thank you for looking after us and we hope to be back one day.

We were in the luxury family room, very spacious and huge comfortable bed. Atmosphere is very traditional and comfy.

The room was constantly heated, probably from being above the kitchens, which could be good in winter, but terrible in a hot summer. The bathroom has no space for vanities near the sink. Breakfast starts quite late (7:30) and if you want something cooked you have to additionally wait until 8:00 to order.

Sehr schönes Frühstück, mit sehr schön eingerichtetem Frühstückssaal. Gutes Restaurant, welches auch mehr als das übliche Fish&Chips und Burger bietet. Engagierter Service. Preis/Leistung angemessen.

Location molto bella anche se richiede necessariamente la macchina. Camera e bagno molto grandi. Molto buono anche il bistrot dove si può pranzare e cenare.

Alcuni aspetti della struttura erano un po' vecchiotti e richiedono manutenzione.

Location was good for me about 5 mile out of Oban. Room was clean & bistro food was reasonable quality & associated cost. Breakfast was really nice.

Ein in die Jahre gekommendes Hotel aber im guten alten Stil. Das Frühstück mit der super freundlichen aufmerksamen Bedienung bekommt von uns ein Extra Löbchen! Ein Tisch mit Blick konnte gewährleistet werden.

Wir wohnten im Anbau in einfachen Zimmern, hatten aber Glück ein Eckzimmer mit zwei Fenstern bekommen zu haben...ja sogar mit ein bißchen Seeblick. Die schweren Koffer mussten wir die Treppen hoch wuchten. Leider kein Kühlschrank auf den Zimmern. Das Abendessen im Hotel war..naja.

Sehr schönes Hotel - und hier ein Beispiel, wie ein altes Haus sauber und gut in Schuß gehalten werden kann! Sehr gepflegt, schön renoviert, modernes Bad mit Regendusche. Und: Erkerzimmer sind immer toll! Sehr gute Küche im hauseigenen "Bistro" (keine Ahnung, warum das nicht Restaurant heisst).

Nichts zu meckern. Eigentlich für unseren Geschmack zu teuer - der Preis war aber für das Gesamtpaket absolut angemessen.

Location was perfect for us. We knew we'd be arriving late and our key was there ready, no hassle at all. Room was small but we knew that when we booked and not the smallest I've stayed in by far. Room, bathroom and hotel were spotless. Nice to not be in a chain. Every staff member was lovely. We were served breakfast by a great young man who helped us keep to our tight schedule. Thanks all
