Really friendly and helpful staff. Room had everything I needed and there was a small bottle of milk in the fridge to make a wanted cup of tea. Excellent resturant and the food was fantastic, you have to try the cheese board! Breakfast is really good. Really enjoyable stay.

The car park Very tight entry and exit and having to pay is a bit cheeky- especially as there is a barrier to prevent non- residents using it. Little in the way of air conditioning, had to keep a window open

This property has really declined over the years. The place needs a total overhaul. It used to be so much nicer but now needs modernised and cleaned up.

In all it was good experience. Staff were helpful and friendly, room was fine and the evening meal and breakfast was excellent.

The one issue we had was being kept up past midnight by residents using the outside area under our window and then being woken up early by someone exercising outside under our window. `I also resent having to pay for parking at a hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel before, nice room with a bath. Excellent breakfast. Will stay again.

The location is fine. The bed was comfortable. The staff were mainly friendly.

The rooms are very small. It was noisy at night so i had to keep the fan on (which we didn't need) to drown out the sound of other rooms and doors slamming. We had originally booked one night and then extended to two but discovered that we were in different rooms for the two nights. We had to 'check out' and 'check in' again and when we asked if our room for the second night was ready earlier than 3pm we were told yes, but we;d have to pay £10 for early check in! Eventually this was sorted but it was rather frustrating and not great customer service.

Our bedroom window was etched out which made the room feel dull and no view from the window , although on the front of the property and a road view would much prefer to see the road than the etched glass sheet ,which blocked out the natural light …a really shame ….

Great location and access to an event for Vivary Park and if I come back next year I would use the hotel again. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I like the bar area and good choice of drinks available, but I only had one. I felt the breakfast choices was adequate.

I was in room 46. The toilet is in an awkward location as I'm fairly tall I had to sit off to the side. But realise why it's there. The faucet is quite powerful and water can sluice out of it onto the floor and your clothes (happened twice), I put the TV on and signal was breaking up, but I wasn't sure if this was linked into the WIFI? As that was a slight issue. But I didn't report it as I wasn't able to watch it as I was editing photos from the event. Car park is tight with spaces and you need to monitor your entry & exit.

Hot, stuffy room. No air conditioning. On busy road, too noisy for open window. Paid for breakfast at reception and then told while eating breakfast that we hadn't paid. Staff member checked and found we had as I told her but if there was any doubt she should have double checked and spoke to us discreetly rather than in front of other people while we were having breakfast. All quite awkward and not impressed. Sorry couldn't recommend to others.

Second visit to this hotel. Last time was a compact double and they are a bit too compact. The regular double was definitely worth the little extra. Good location for me. Will stay again.

The building is very attractive from the outside but the rooms are behind the times. But I enjoyed my stay.

No air con, bathroom very small and dated. Breakfast was a little regimental, ie the cooked breakfast appearing before I was ready for it. But staff friendly.

The bed was very comfortable and so was the pillow. Breakfast for me was a little limited as I am yeast and lactose intolerant so I took my own soya milk. One thing missing from breakfast was fruit. The room was large which was a surprise.

The carpet was a little stained.

Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Comfy bed and plenty of hot water. Milk in fridge for coffee/tea.

It was a shame we hadn’t been told that if you book directly you have breakfast included. Everything was excellent. The only things we would have changed was that the soap dispenser is no where near where you sit or lie in the bath - and some bottled water in the fridge would have been welcomed.

Wir waren für eine Nacht in diesem Hotel und waren sehr zufrieden. Auch der späte Check-in hat dank des freundlichen Nachtportiers problemlos funktioniert. Das Hotel ist zwar etwas älter, aber alles war sauber und gepflegt. Besonders gut gefallen hat uns der urig-gemütliche Bar- und Restaurantbereich. Ein großer Pluspunkt ist auch der vorhandene Parkplatz, über den wir uns sehr gefreut haben. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen

The space given. The convenience and location to parks, shops and town. It was also very quiet. Staff were helpful and positive. I also got a free upgrade on the room.

There were stains and hairs around the room. A damp patch on the wall near the hanger rack (looked mould like) and no plug sockets near the bed. Supplied fan, couldn't reach, especially when needed on the hot nights.

The location was perfect fairly short walks into both the centre of Taunton and also to the hospital for visit visiting. The room I had was facing the main road, but this did not have an effect on my sleeping even though I had to sleep with the window open due to the hot weather, a decent fan was also provided, which did the job. The room was immaculately clean and the decoration pleasant. Richard was really approachable and went out of his way to be flexible with my booking arrangements at a difficult time whilst my mum was in hospital. Please note, there no breakfast served at this accommodation, however this did not affect my stay in the slightest.

Awesome place to stay. I arrived late about 2am.staff woke up to let me in. The room was brilliant. Staff where brilliant. I was late for check out an they didn't make it a big deal. They gave me the time I needed. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I woulddefo stay again and recommend it for anyone in the area.

The bedroom was extremely hot and very uncomfortable (stayed during the hot spell in July), whilst a desk top fan was provided it only moved hot air around and it was very difficult to sleep. Other parts of the hotel (stairs, corridors, restaurant), were much cooler.

Not the hotels fault but because of the hot weather the rooms were so hot, but they did give us a fan for the room. Strange set up for kettle. Not enough plug sockets but was given an extension lead.

Have stayed here for a number of years now. We go to watch the cricket at Taunton, and The Corner House hotel is in an ideal location for the cricket and exploring the town and the area. Great food and the staff are lovely. The hotel has lots of character. Will carry on going back there and recommend it to anyone.

Stayed for wedding at Taunton registry office, I cannot praise this hotel enough , staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, this was the best service I have experienced at any hotel, fully recommended. Are in the restaurant and again food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Only downside was weather was super hot and no air con at the hotel, although in fairness the weather has been very hot. Definitely stay here as great access to town and registry office. Thanks to all the staff on our visit you were great and a credit to the corner house

We booked last minute with the hotel and on booking.com. When booking with booking.com we had to pay for breakfast but it was free with the rooms that we booked direct. The hotel was really clean. Some of our rooms were really hot but there was a heatwave of 30 degrees so it’s not surprising and fans were provided. The food in the restaurant was fantastic. We had a party of 12 and everyone enjoyed their food. Breakfast was fab. The best thing about this hotel though was the staff. They couldn’t do enough to help us. We had inadvertently booked doubles on booking.com rather than twins but they sorted this for us even though the house keepers had finished for the day. They were wonderful for our whole stay and we can’t speak highly enough of them.

Very attractive Victorian building, with reasonable sized twin room. Nice, good quality, décor. The elements that lifted the hotel were: the very helpful and charming staff; and the excellent food. Delicious, imaginative dishes, very well executed. The Prix Fixé menu was good value. The scrambled eggs at breakfast were superlative.

The drawback of a lovely Victorian buildings is that they don’t have air conditioning, and when it’s more than 32 degrees Centigrade, it’s just horribly hot for everyone. There was quite a good electrical fan in the room, which helped a lot.

I booked the hotel when my husband had an emergency admission to Musgrove Park Hospital as it is only an 8 min walk and had safe parking (the town is only 7mins in the other direction). The hotel was great. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. It was useful to have a fridge and the/coffee making facilities. The breakfast was an added bonus (if you book direct with hotel) great choice of hot or cold. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

The bedroom was small and I could only just get to the other side of the bed

A character property located at a rather busy intersection. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious enough but basic. Cleanliness of room, restaurant and bar area was good. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent which we used often during the heatwave. It was unfortunate that all we had was a small room fan to blow the hot air around (though I believe it does mention on the booking site having AC?). We had to keep the windows open at night, and the traffic noise did make it a challenge sleeping. We were located at the front of the building, perhaps at room at the back would have been quieter. The breakfast was delicious, an excellent choice of items not limited to just an English breakfast. Easy walk to town.

As always, a lovely stay in our favourite hotel in Somerset for our anniversary. The new summer dinner menu is as fresh and clean as one could wish for. Beautifully presented, wonderful flavours and really friendly staff. Room No1 has been freshly decorated and is perfect for access to the stunning dining room. Lovely to see the original staff in place which made our stay even better.

I was in UK on the hottest day. There is no air con so the room was too hot to sleep. Very uncomfortable. However there was a table fan provided but it doesn't help it was just too hot inside the room. Having said that this is not the fault of the hotel. It is the weather & I guess all hotels are affected during this period of time.
