I paid R4125 for 2 nights with breakfast included. This in my opinion is ridiculously high for a for a 3 star place of this calibre. Especially when there 4 star hotels in the area which offer more for a cheaper price tag.
The weather
The stay was a complete disaster from the first night . It's was scary someone had been watching into our room in the evening around 8pm and no one from the reception or security could be found . We had to call the police to intervene . Poor customer service
Views.
Scary at night and security not visible. There is no one that can assist you at night. The numbers provided ring with no answer.
Location/setting
Very run down. No covers on lights, no blinds, toilet didn't flush properly, marks on bedding and towels
Very run down
The place allows dogs which is our only reason for booking.
The facilities are very run down and not well taken care off. The rooms have bad carpet stains. The walls have cracks and dampening. The cupboards are shaky and loose. The kids game room smells and all equipment are in old condition. For paying an above average rate for the area, we were highly disappointed.
Cosy quiet facilities
They didn't replace the tea stuff after we used them the first day
Friendly staff
Potholes can be fixed, sports courts need more maintenance
Great location and stunning premises!
Units could use a little TLC but everything was in good working order.
I LIKED NOTHING
EVERYTHING
Peaceful, yet stuff to do
A bit worn
There was a lot of flies due to the animals being so close to the accommodation.
Views Cleansiness
Loss of electricity for long period
Horse riding
The weather was not good
I liked everything
Everything was on point
The unit was cosy but is the same since I stayed 10 years ago, some upgrades would be nice.
Facilities were clean and neat. Staff was friendly and helpful.
GREAT SPACE AND GOOD VALUE FOR MONELY
THE CHALET SMELLS MUSTY AND OLD. THE RESTARAUNT TOOK A REALLY LONG TIME TO SERVE OUR MEALS, YET THERE WERE ONLY 2 OTHER FAMILIES PRESENT IN THE RESTARAUNT. IT WAS A QUIET TIME
The nature
They need better heating systems in the accommodation because it gets very cold and there price for wood is extremely expensive
Peaceful
Chalets are still old. Not renovated after so many years of us visiting there
Great location, good views
Needs a lot of TLC.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. If it weren't for the staff, this facility would have no customers.
Holes in curtains, mold from condensation on back of curtains, broken blinds in kitchen, stained duvet cover (which they changed as soon as we told them), old couches that you just sink into (no stability), and was told that we couldn't have a fan because they didn't have enough to accommodate all the units.
Absolutely friendly staff makes family time enjoyable. Great activities for the kids and adults
No internet access
Safety for our children was good we knew they were safe. This is a great fear when kids wonder off. They enjoyed horseriding and walks to the stables
The pool area could be neater and better maintained with staff on duty. We were there with our children but lots of ppl just send their kids and we cannot tell them what to do your staff can. Also judging from your bookings the shop needs to be updated and well stocked. There's no places nearby to shop so the estate shop needs a revamp.and the shop cannot be a reception...you need to work on this and the reception to your premises
The chalets were nice
The fact we had no water the whole time we were there which meant no showers and baths lucky were only there for a night
Calm and tranquil environment
Location and serenity and spa
Activities were advertised but not offered
The place was not clean the toilet was bad the place was full of flys
Good value for money, friendly staff, and great atmosphere
great staff, good facilities, maintenance on the unit was not great but ok, patio handrails where rotten and had screws stick out being a safety risk for our toddlers, chairs on dinning table needed some work, but generally good. We always enjoy our stay at saddle and trout and have stayed in a few different units, and always found maintenance was not well taken care of. We will be back despite the maintenance
Unit 15b Perfect Location Staff absolutely amazing ,helpful and always with smiles. They made us feel at Home
We couldn't fault anything about our stay
Absolutely nothing Absolute disappointment and misleading advertising
Everything was a disaster Requested for a baby cot They approved it but no actual cot was given. And even after telling the reception/staff nothing was done The actual property is run down and unkept The staff can’t do much to help The restaurant food is overpriced and not good at all No wifi in chalets No heaters or aircons for chalets Furniture falling apart Couches and beds stained Leaking taps Showers flooding Because of drainage issues and a whole lot more Doors don’t lock or shut properly or don’t even close at all. So many pictures but unfortunately not allowing me to post more than 4
Very beautiful views , and we were near the stables this time so it was a bonus.Very clean and peaceful.
I didn't like the fact that if we didn't hear the housekeeper knocking, that they would enter with their own key.It was a bit odd because valuables or other things could of been left out etc. And the pond being under construction, we were told we could fish in the pond next to it which was boring considering it was stocked up with baby bass, and they didn't really put up a good fight.
The Most Perfect Location 15b
Everything was Perfect
"Sporting" facilities, peaceful location
The weather was hot and humid with no wind resulting in the bedroom and lounge being hot. Air conditioners would be first prize but ceiling fans are a necessity.
The view was excellent , and the horse riding was also very nice.
Clean environment Friendly Breathtaking views
Sliding doors could do with padlocks or additional latches for safety
Superb Excellent

NOTHING
NOT FLEXIBLE LIKE THE OTHER RECEPTIONIST, THE GUY WAS MORE UNDERSTANDING , TO BE SPECIFIC LIKE SHIFTING THE DATES. SO SINCE THEN I DONT BOOK MIDLANDS SADDLE TROUT. COS I HAD PAID FOR 5DAYS AND STAYED FOR TWO NIGHTS, I REQUESTED WAY BEFORE I WENT TO SLEEP OVER BUT WAS TOLD THAT THEY MANAGER WILL COMEBACK TO ME, MIND YOU I WAS NOT ASKING FOR REFUND, BUT MY OTHER DAYS TO BE SHIFTED. THATS IT I AM NOT HAPPY AS I WAS ROBBED MY DAYS.
Very poorly kept resort. Not clean. Everything broken in the games room. Real waste of my money.
Everything
The staff was very nice
The restaurant was not nice at all didn't have a lot of options not willing to comprise. The place it self needs alot of attention. Not the same as when I was there 10years back
Whole staff was very welcoming, we enjoyed games with Clive. Horse riding was great, I learnt how to ride a horse.
You pay extra for activities.
Everything was good.
Game room needs alot of attention . Upkeep on the property needs a little more tweaking to get it top level.
View
Blinds needs some work
Quiet, peaceful, The view
The accomodation could do with an upgrade, especially the couches(had no back rest pillows) and the outdoor patio furniture. Crockery could be more expansive and shower could be more functional. Small shower space with shelving inside the shower in an awkward position.
Large open spaces, fresh air and beautiful horses, our family always enjoys this lovely resort. The chalet is always homey and comfortable affording us a wonderful night's rest. My kids love the horses, the games room, bicycles and other amenities.
After the thunderstorm at Dawn on Saturday morning, there was an electricity outage until late in the afternoon. This was no fault of the resort as it was being managed by Eskom but it did put a damper on our getaway. The resort did provide a gas stove in the chalet so we were able to prepare meals. Price of firewood at R100 a bag.
Clean and quiet
Amazing! The chalets are beautiful! Our one when we opened the back and front door the horses were right there, its clean! The bath.... WOW👌 The bed was so comfortable. The whole chalet I rate it 💯. The restaurant is amazing and the food is great! Reception ladies are amazing! There are alot of activities aswell. We will definitely go back 😊
The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way for us!
The Spa and Horse ride were amazing!!
