I loved everything. The food was delicious. There was activities going on every day. It was an incredible time.
I didn't like that we had to leave.

Over all staff were good but the VIP services was a BIG SCAM
Check in no lounge exclusivo do preferred club, quarto espaçoso, cama confortável, itens muito bons no frigobar. Café da manhã e almoço no restaurante principal (World café) excelente, boa qualidade e variedade.
I loved this resort super clean with super nice people location was great. Walking distance of the shipping stores. Super family friendly resort.
Nice family hotel. Beach right in front of the property is a bit rocky but if you walk down a bit away from the property you get a better experience.
Preferred club as a joke anyone can get preferred club amenities. They didn’t track any of it. Preferred club as small and always everything taken upat all times the restaurants are not good. The pool is 100° by the swim up bar and the one next to it all kinds of kids in the preferred club pool with no one checking if they preferred or not if you want any kind of shade even in preferred club, they want you to upgrade to get a cabana or umbrella we went for a wedding and the staff handled that very very poorly! The food at the wedding was terrible at best!
Elevators worked too slow.Breakfast and dinner buffet too small.Coco Cafe did not open to 7 a.m. for hot coffee. We were woken up 4 out of 6 nights by neighbors upstairs and next door.Beach was too small,we were right on top of each other, umbrellas are old and broken, ours had to be taped to stay up.Room was too warm, stayed at 26 Celsius, even after maintenance checked it out.The only thing we liked was shrimp tacos and burger on the beach. They did not even make scooby doo shots or mango shots.Time share was a bother,we won't do it.Offered us 300.00 dollars, told him if you even offered me 2,000 I won't do it,his face got disappointed look. Will definitely never be back.Much better resorts and food at other resorts.Been to cancun 11 times in July
The hotel looks nothing like the photos advertised online. From the moment we arrived, our experience was extremely disappointing. The problems started at check-in. Some members of our party, whose names were clearly included on the reservation, arrived before the rest of us. Despite traveling with young children, they were refused check-in until everyone in the group was present. When I arrived, there was a minor misspelling in my first name on the reservation. I was able to correct it through the Booking.com app, but the hotel still insisted on charging a $3,000 USD deposit before they would process the change. After nearly an hour of explaining how unreasonable this was, they finally agreed to waive the deposit and allow us to check in. Once we reached our rooms, we realized the hotel was very outdated and looked nothing like the pictures. It was a huge disappointment. Things only got worse at the buffet restaurant. We were traveling as a family of 13 to celebrate my mother-in-law’s 70th birthday, with relatives coming from different parts of the world, some of whom had not seen each other in over two years. The hotel refused to seat us together, claiming it was their policy not to accommodate large groups. However, during our stay we repeatedly saw other groups—some even larger than ours, with up to 18 people—being seated together. The policy seemed to be applied only to us. The entire purpose of our trip was to spend quality time together as a family, and being unable to share meals completely ruined that experience. We were forced to leave the resort and pay for meals at outside restaurants that could accommodate our group, resulting in additional unexpected expenses. At the end of our stay, we requested a late check-out and made it clear that we were willing to pay any additional fee. Our request was initially denied. After another lengthy discussion, the front desk agreed to grant one extra hour for one of our rooms. However, immediately after the regular check-out time, we received a call from the concierge demanding that we vacate the room because they had not been informed of the approved extension. When we went downstairs before the extended check-out time, the staff apologized and said it had been a misunderstanding between the concierge and the front desk. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had. Between the poor customer service, inconsistent policies, misleading photos, and lack of consideration for guests, I would not recommend this hotel and would not choose to stay here again.

Dreams Sands is a great resort for families. It was wonderful to see so many families from all walks of life, enjoying each other. Sands staff was great, resort was clean, spacious. I recommend for families to vacation.
Ubicación en zona de poco sargazo
Terrible experience. The way I was treated at the restaurant with my child was unacceptable. Our server grabbed the chips with his bare hands rather than use the tongs that were in the bowl to serve us. He didn't do this to anyone else. He was rude and it was uncalled for..
We truly enjoyed our stay at Dreams Sands! We loved the delicious food and cuisine offered at every restaurant! The staff were amazing from the restaurant head Jorge at guacho to the omelette station Chef Melani, to the servers, Pedro, Yasmin, and the hotel VIP staff, Alexus “Alejandra”. Fernando at the check in was kind and offered to upgrade us for free our last two days at the resort due to our celebration of anniversary. We loved the fact that this resort provided free water non-motorized experiences sailing with Hector from Aqua World was a key experience we’ll never forget! We got to see a sea turtle, and even see beautiful turquoise waters. The beach sadly has been impacted by the Crisis of 2026 Sargassum that’s hit many of Mexico’s beaches. Luckily on the last day the storm cleared a lot of it out and we were able to access beach with some clarity in water. The hotel is beautiful in many ways but could use renovations in the ceilings of restaurants leaking, the bathrooms or rooms were clean but outdated features. Overall, a wonderful stay and an amazing experience due to the lovely staff and food. VIP services gave us day passes to explore the Secrets Resort Mirabel thanks to Alexis! We
We were there on our honeymoon and had the worst experience. There was mold on our pillow, in the bathroom and when they gave us 3 other options the rooms were dirty, dirty towels still on the floor, stained pillows and sheets, and mold on the walls/ceilings/vents. Would never recommend this place to anyone, very gross, and very unhealthy. They downgraded our room when we complained and told us to pick the cleanest of the 4 rooms. They tried to bribe us the day we were leaving with a pool cabana “to make it right”. Front desk staff, concierge, and management were rude and not helpful.

Great location, Staff, room, food and drinks were all outstanding.
No wristbands for the all inclusive guests. Just give your room number to dine or drink.

The bed was comfy and room was clean, tipped $5.00 per day. Entertainment was okay. The staff goes above and beyond, with tips. Mini bar was restocked and I tipped $5.00 per day. Drinks were served constantly and everyone seemed to enjoy the fruit drinks, including the children. Shrimp tacos by the pool are the best food served outside. The Japanese restaurant had the best food overall. Breakfast buffet wasn't bad. A young man strolls through the pool area with a hawk to discourage black birds from bothering guests. 😀
The food wasn't very good and I'm not a foodie. Room service food was terrible! Pizza, nachos and seafood cocktail were awful. Presentation is nice, flavor is really lacking. The partial ocean view was 90% blocked by an awning below and palm trees. See photos. Sargassum kept the tiny beach closed every day we were there. The beach is so small equipment can't get in to clean it. It has to be hand shoveled and bagged, then hauled out through the pool area. The pool has partially been retiled with off color tiles, looks cheap, minor detail. The spa is outrageously expensive. The vanity area and bathroom don't have much privacy, glass wall and door. Important if you are traveling with children. We will not return because of the negative aspects. Too many things were wrong for the price. I rented 3 rooms for a party of 8. There isn't much for preteens or teens to do beyond swimming.

Nice restaurants, nice pools
Few elevators and they are really slow, other guests using speakers
I highly recommend this resort. The food was delicious, shows were entertaining and pools were fun! The service here was nothing short of excellent. I hope to come back in the future.
Great service! The Dreams faculty provided great service all around but special shoutout to Pedro, Candelario, Mariola, and Alejandro!
Jose from Coco Cafe was amazing! This place had the best food like crepes ice cream and hot chocolate. It was a place in the main lobby.
We watched YouTube reviews for this hotel before booking it. We thought the beach was nice, but when we got there we were so disappointed! There were many small rocks in the water, so there were only few people in there water! The beach was one of the top factors for us to book a hotel.
Our room was clean, well-maintained, and serviced regularly. The staff throughout the resort were excellent, attentive, and friendly. We especially appreciated the thoughtful anniversary gifts, including a bottle of champagne and a special dessert at one of the restaurants. Service at the pool area was excellent. One unique and enjoyable feature was watching a staff member walk through the pool area with a hawk to discourage black birds from bothering guests. It was both entertaining and effective. During our stay, a 4.2-magnitude earthquake occurred. The resort staff responded quickly by evacuating the buildings until they could be confirmed safe for occupancy. We were impressed by their professionalism and commitment to guest safety.
The beach at this resort is very small, which prevents equipment from accessing it to remove the sargassum. As a result, it must be shoveled by hand, bagged, and hauled away through the pool area. Unfortunately, the odor from the sargassum was unpleasant, and the beach was under a red flag every day of our stay. We never used the beach, which was very disappointing. The food did not meet the quality or flavor expectations set by the resort's advertising. Presentation was good, but did not make up for actual flavor. Our "partial ocean view" room offered very little actual ocean view, as an awning directly below our balcony and several palm trees blocked approximately 90% of the scenery. The entertainment was adequate but not particularly memorable. The pool area could use some improvements, as portions have been retiled with mismatched colors, and one of the pools lacks stairs for exiting the deep end, making it dangerous. Accessibility around the pool area could also be improved for guests using wheelchairs or walkers. We traveled with our adult children and grandchildren, a group of eight. While the children enjoyed the jet ski rentals offered through Amstar Activities, there were few activities available for preteens beyond swimming. The jet skis were expensive. Overall, while we appreciated the excellent staff, clean accommodations, and safety procedures, we would not choose to return. We would prefer a resort with a more usable beach and a wider variety of activities for young teens and adults.
Hotel conditions are not optimal, My room had mold and water damage to the ceiling when I had booked a Premium room, which is supposed to be the upgraded room. The food restaurants Weight was more than what they had said almost doubled the time. Beach is filled with seaweed, even though that is not their problem. They aren’t out there cleaning it all day long either.. Which leaves the pool to be extremely packed. Service that is given there is not exactly friendly. They’re extremely pushy on trying to get you to visit one of their other locations on the hotel strip and the moment you turned them down or try to let them know you understand what it is but not interested they become extremely rude.
The partial ocean view was 90% blocked with an awning and trees. The food left a lot to be desired, bland and tough steaks. The beach is too small to have equipment remove the sargassum so it has to be raked by hand, bagged and hauled out through the pool area. The sea/beach was red flagged all 5 days we were there. They just can't keep up. The rooms are clean and large enough, but there are glass doors, for little privacy in the shower and none in vanity area. Very little to do other than pools when beach is shut down. Entertainment was okay. The resort is very clean and staff is constantly cleaning public areas. The staff was very helpful and eager to please. With the beach shut down we could have been at an all inclusive anywhere in Texas or Florida. Drinks we plentiful and good. Tip to have the best service.
The food was delicious at all the restaurants we visited with the exception of Gaucho. We were very disappointed. We ate at the buffet each day and the food selection was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you needed something, they were quick to respond. We loved having multiple pools, so it never felt crowded. The beach was a letdown. Very small. It does need some updating, in areas, but nothing that hindered our stay. Overall, we had a great time!
The reviews all said that ppl came here for the beautiful beach only. The beach was unusable due to the seaweed that was piled up in trash bags and left out in the hot sun to ferment. Pools are small, service was not great, rooms are outdated. There were two working elevators for 10 floors and salesmen waiting at every corner to pitch an excursion or day pass to another property.
The sargassum was so bad we were never able to go into the ocean although the hotel really did try to clean it up. Our room was clean when we arrived but the pillows smelled horrible so we had to ask for new ones and instead of taking our old ones they continued to remake the bed with them even after we put them on the floor. There was a terrible draft between our balcony door (the door was old) and our room so our room was consistently damp from the humidity and the draft was so loud it was hard to sleep. You can't make reservations anywhere other than Hibachi but every night there was a 30 minute wait to each. A lot of people came up to us on the beach to sell us things, which was expected, but a company that worked with the hotel sold us an excursion that did not at all match the description. They told us it was a 10am-4pm boat ride and we didn't get back until 6:30pm. The boat was overpacked with people and they did not communicate well that was the expectation. The pools are smaller than they seem and really warm. Majority of the kids are actually in the preferred pool. There's no real differentiation in benefits, you can easily go to the preferred side as they don't check. We expected a better experience and just were disappointed with how the hotel seems vs what we actually got. The people and the service are great! But overall I would say less than 3 stars
The resort itself is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the waiting staff is magnificent and attentive. However, the management side falls short. The benefits of paying for 'preferred status' were completely unclear, and we were constantly harassed by staff to take a tour of a new hotel property. The layout also needs attention; a separate adults-only area is badly needed to separate explicit public displays of affection from the family spaces. Lastly, daily housekeeping was sub-standard—counters weren't wiped, beds were poorly made, and they even knocked on our door after 9:00 PM while we were asleep to offer service. Great food and waiters, but poor management and room upkeep.
Everything is nice but the personnel is the reason we would come back. Everybody did their best to make us feel comfortable and there is nothing else we could ask for than love and pampering attention.
Quarto espaçoso, bem localizado, vista parcial do mar boa.
Serviço de quarto deixou a desejar. Tivemos que pedir folha de banho três dias seguidos pois durante a limpeza do quarto as camareiras retiraram as toalhas usadas e não deixavam as limpas.
The food and customer service was excellent but the room was subpar and the there is not a full bathroom door. There is a 3 inch gap at the top of the door. If you are going with anyone besides family and if a person goes to the bathroom every one in the room can hear & smell everything. There is absolutely no privacy. Traveling with my friend was awkward. 😬
We loved this resort. Small enough to be able to get around, big enough to have what you need for a stay in Mexico. Really the main negative was being talked into doing their sales pitch at Sandals. Don't do it! They were so pushy, would not take no for an answer. Of course it took longer than they said it would! They had six different people trying to change our minds. Very uncomfortable! We were " rewarded" by receiving a preferred stay. Again not worth it. Not once were we able to sit down by the preferred beach. People would get up at 6: 00am and go put their goggles on a chair. Staff allows it. But that's the negatives. Now to the positives. The rest was totally awesome. The food was good, especially the Asian restaurant and the Italian restaurant. The drinks were awesome, the pools were fun. Staff were amazing, and always accommodating. The shows were very entertaining. Our room was comfortable with a wonderful view. I particularly liked the coffee shop that was open 24/7. They always had delicious little snacks! We were able to book our jet ski and parasailing Right there on the property. They had kayaks you could take out or a small catamaran. If you're unfamiliar with the boat, there were gentlemen there who could take you out for a nice tip. The water was very shallow, and always warm. We just floated around for hours, talking and laughing. The restaurants were close to the beach so we always had a nice view. All in all it was a wonderful stay and we will definitely consider staying there when we go back to Cancun!
We had a good experience at this resort. It was smaller than we are used to but was still great. Service was amazing! A few staff members to mention were Noe-breakfast server, Sergio-beach server, Laura-preferred bar, Krisol-steak restaurant, Alberto-breakfast server, Alfonso-preferred bar, Lisandro-table cleaner, Mauro-bartender, Isaac-beach server, and Mariana-UVC rep were just a few of the staff members who really did an amazing job!!
We went to this resort to celebrate my daughters quinceanera & even though this resort was not my first choice, I am glad I chose it. My family and our party guests enjoyed everything about it, from the hospitality to the food to the entertainment. Everyone at this resort went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. I was told that this resort was remodeled so I did expect the rooms to be more updated but we don't spend much time in our room anyways, so it wasn't that big of a deal. We also had an issue that involved security and they were on it, took care of it immediately and made us feel safe during the whole ordeal. Everyone at the resort was very nice and helpful and it's people like them that make your stay amazing.
Fantastic hotel, good location, kept very clean, service was very good, great variety of restaurants and bars, food and drinks fantastic, all staff were welcoming and friendly go out of their way to make you sure you are happy. I would definitely stay here again.
Worst hotel and management I’ve ever experienced in Mexico. Highly recommend not ever going here. Horrible hotel, nothing to do and very overpriced.
We had a wonderful stay at the Dreams Sands Cancun Resort & Spa and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable throughout our stay. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help, which made our experience even better. The Christmas decorations throughout the resort were a beautiful touch and created a festive atmosphere that we really appreciated. The food was good with plenty of options for everyone, and overall our group had a fantastic time. We left with great memories and would happily return in the future.
I want to share my experience so other families — especially those traveling with young children — know what to expect before spending extra money on the "Preferred" upgrade at Dreams Sands Cancun. Upon arrival, we were traveling with my sister-in-law and an exhausted 3-year-old. We asked if our room might be ready early and were told a Preferred room — larger than our booked room and a tropical view— could be ready by 12:30 PM. We paid $280/room for the upgrade on the spot. We were assured it was confirmed with housekeeping, and that the upgrade included a bottle of liquor, snacks. and access to the preferred pool When we returned at 12:30, the room wasn't ready. We were told to come back in 45 minutes. It still wasn't ready. By the time we finally got in, there were no snacks in the room. I had to complain for three days to get that resolved. The refrigerator never got cold for the entirety of our stay. And the bottle of liquor? You have to call room service to request it — something that should have been explained at check-in or simply handled there. As for the Preferred experience itself: the pool is tiny — maybe 18–20 lounge chairs — and all the actual entertainment happens at the main pool. Food delivery to the Preferred area exists, but the menu is extremely limited. The only genuine perk was the Preferred lounge. On top of all this, every time we walked through the lobby, a staff member tried to sign us up for a timeshare-style presentation. We're on vacation — the constant approach gets old fast. I can't help but feel that our situation — tired toddler in tow, clearly wanting to get settled — was taken advantage of. The $280/room upgrade did not deliver what was promised, and what was promised wasn't even that impressive the view was a few palm trees and the top of a room. I expected more from a Dreams/Hyatt property. Very disappointed.
This hotel is more than we expect, Delicious and fresh food, Great service, great entertainment very clean hotel and the people is friendly and very respectful, Pedro the barista on the cafe, stands out!, Great Job Pedro!, definitely I'm strongly recommend this place and definitely we are coming back!!
This place is run down and over crowded. I do NOT recommend. Went for a senior trip with my son and his friends and moms. The food, especially the buffet was gross. The food just sat out uncovered for hours. You could tell they were cutting corners to save money. We did preferred club which made the tip bearable because the drinks in the preferred lounge were at least decent and the breakfast for preferred guests only at least gave us an option besides the gross buffet. The beach was tiny and the ocean was basically a cove and completely filled with seaweed. The pools need updates, they are falling apart. One day I saw an employee taking out a pool tile column that had fallen over. Overall I would not recommend. I have been to way nicer all inclusives that are only slightly more expensive.
Food was far from what was expected for the price. My girlfriend ordered salmon and it came completely undercooked to the point it was still cold and slimy on the inside. Supposed to be no smoking but multiple times we would smell cigarette smoke through the vents that would make the entire room smell like cigarettes. Shower temperature is not constant, varies from hot to cold in seconds without even touching the knob. Overall stay was far worse than expected.

Everyone was incredibly friendly, always smiling, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. From the restaurant staff to the bar team, the service was consistently warm and welcoming, which made a big difference in our overall experience.
What I didn’t like about our experience at Dreams Sands Cancun is how poorly large groups are handled. We traveled as a group of 10 people, and it was nearly impossible to be seated together at the restaurants. Every time we asked for a table, we were told it wasn’t available. However, the moment we agreed to purchase a bottle of wine or sake for 100 dollars or more, suddenly a table for 10 would “magically” appear. For a resort that promotes itself as family-friendly and group-oriented, this was very disappointing. Dining together is a big part of traveling as a group, and we shouldn’t have to pay extra just to sit at the same table.
Beautiful hotel and excellent service. Yes, hotel is older but they make up for it in their service. Went for our wedding anniversary and was such a romantic spot. Food and drinks all inclusive ans delicious. Hotel had options for Bali beds and romantic dinners on the beach. Room service included in preferred club...Had special packages for couples for spa and had a relaxing couple massage. Overall, from time of check in to check out. Everything was smooth and easy. Already planning our next trip.
I watched a lot of reviews and was nervous about food and being geared towards you g families. I was pleasantly surprised. Breakfast buffet was very good. El Patio was very good especially the mahi mahi. Hibachi was also really good with exception of the steak a little chewy. Entertainment staff was really really good. Rooms were suitable but wish there was drawers to put stuff away to keep room neater.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was so much fun. We actually stayed at the hotel more than we thought we would. The atmosphere was fun, beautiful and personal. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Stayed for 5 days, 4 nights in mid-May. Traveled with a group of 17 family members for my Uncle's Birthday. Staff was super friendly, helpful and professional. Even the guests were friendly. Special call-outs: Entertainment Team: Jayden and Alexander have been great! They always said hi to our group and made group activities fun. Dining: Jorge and Roberto were always available to answer questions throughout our stay and also helped to arrange special birthday dinner for my uncle. Restaurants were excellent. Even the buffet has been enjoyable each day with lots of options. Spa: Sandra, Antonio, Jessica, Estrella, Clarisa led us to a very enjoyable spa experience including sauna, steam room, cold plunge, and massage. The Mother's Day Package was well-worth it! Restaurants were excellent. We loved the variety at the buffet.
Dream Sands was a great place to stay! The staff are super friendly and out going trying to make your stay the best it can possibly be.
Please save the trouble and go to Dreams Natura if you are wanting a better experience and something close by. Valet damaged our car and failed to notify us, upgraded room was so cold, my family got sick, just terrible.
They are targeting black peoples and accusing them of smoking in the rooms while also sending security into there rooms to harass them and pin things on.
I usually don’t leave bad reviews, but my experience at Dreams Cancun was extremely disappointing. I previously stayed at Dreams in Mazatlán and had an amazing experience, which is exactly why I chose Dreams again for this trip. Unfortunately, this location completely ruined it for me. The customer service was terrible from the beginning. Employees were rude, communication was poor, and nobody seemed to care about fixing issues. I paid extra for a balloon surprise setup in my room for my partner and even tipped very well for the service. When we went upstairs, the balloons were already popped and maintenance staff were cleaning everything up right in front of us. The surprise was completely ruined. What made it worse was the front desk showed no urgency, no apology, and offered absolutely nothing for the inconvenience. The food was also disappointing. At one point I ordered a salad and they literally brought out an entire head of romaine lettuce uncut. That pretty much summed up the effort and quality we experienced throughout the stay. This trip honestly ruined my Cancun experience for me. I expected so much more from a Dreams resort, especially after loving the Mazatlán location. Sadly, I would not return to this property or recommend it to others.
Location was okay with the nice beach and huge sand bank which made it safe for our toddler to be at the beach. Our whole family of five got sick three days into the trip. The water in our rooms smelled like sewer. The shower water kept going back and forth between very hot and cold. Food was awful everywhere except for the Asian restaurant where it was decent and service was great. Food everywhere else was disappointing. Would not recommend to anyone.
Worst experience ever in a hotel from this chain. Lots of noise, packed and beach space very tiny. If you're a UVC member, absolutely no response from them.
Notes is a bit dated. Rooms are small. Staff is friendly. Food is worst I’ve experience the last 7 years staying all-inclusive in Cancun. Gave 4/6 adults traveling with us good poison.
I came to the resort in May. The staff was amazing. The activity staff was amazing. It's like we had our own built in best friends when we were on our trip. The Jayden and Alex combo was hysterical. They kept us laughing all day. The first day we got there Eric made us feel welcomed. They got us involved in all the activities. Played volleyball with us. Got us to do any outdoor activities. The had us dying with the music trivia (guess the song). They had a ton of people yelling out!! Michelle was so sweet, so fun, she said hi to us everyday by name. She really made us feel welcomed. Alejandro while by the ocean was so sweet, super helpful. He always had a smile on his face.
We had a great experience at Dreams Sands! Charlie, Alex, Jadyn, Michelle, Angie, and the rest of the entertainment staff were a big part of making our stay so great!
The rooms are Horrible unless you upgrade to a suite. Food is not so good. Pay a few thousand more and stay somewhere else. Entertain is great. The service is good and drinks are great. Preferred pool is small and much cooler than main pool. The resort is much older than others. Room service food was great compared to the restaurants. If you think you are getting chips, salsa, and guacamole, you are not. At Himitsu restaurant the Staff actually hid because we came in within 30 minutes of closing. Once seated, service was extremely rushed and was told to place an order of everything we wanted because we would not be able to place another order even for dessert. Service at Portofino restaurant was Terrible! Could not even get the waiter to come to the table in a timely manner. Fish tacos at Olio are great. Coffee at Coco Cafe is spot on and service was Great. Preferred is not worth $80 per night. Use that money to upgrade to a suite because you will hate your room even the preferred rooms. I cannot imagine but a non-preferred room looks like. If you do not require much for the $$$, stay here. Otherwise, go somewhere else and get wowed!
The service from the staff made our trip truly wonderful. The workers were all super friendly and were always available to help. They have lots of servers walking around taking drink and food orders so you never even have to leave your beach chair if you don't want to! The hotel is in great shape and has a very clean, modern look to it. The facilities are well taken care of and very clean. There are maintenance people working regularly with paint touchups and whatnot, but nothing that isn't expected. The fitness center is a little small but has plenty of machines and weights to get in a good workout while on vacation and is very clean. The trainer was very helpful whenever needed and there are lots of towels and water available. The beach was nothing special. The water is clear but shallow, and there is a lot of sargassum and rocks around it. It was wonderful to sit back and read, but not necessarily to go swimming in. The available pools were more than enough to get some swimming in and cool off. We didn't elect for the preferred package but the additional pool looked very fun as well. Another added benefit is the place doesn't feel jam packed with people and we had absolutely no issues finding places to sit. If you're fair skinned (like myself) and require shade, you would have to find a spot by 11 AM to noon, but if you're fine with getting your tan on then you could go to find a spot at anytime with no problem. I was traveling with just my partner, so the experience may be different if you have a big group. The food was nothing spectacular, but it was still pretty good. The Olio by the beach is a must have everyday for lunch. What really stood out about the dining was the presentation. All of the food was plated quite well and the restaurants are all very clean with extremely attentive staff. The housekeeping staff were FANTASTIC. Everyday we would wake up and go to breakfast before returning to our room to get changed for the beach. Almost everyday we would return to our bed re-made, room cleaned, and towels replaced. It felt like the housekeeping staff came about twice a day, they were really on top of it. The entertainment was certainly lacking and there's not a whole lot to do outside of the resort without paying for transportation to get some ways out, but that was ok for us since we were just looking to relax on the beach and read. It may not be as nice as some higher end resorts, but really spectacular for the price in my opinion. I would most definitely recommend this as a resort to visit to anyone interested in a nice relaxing trip.
Absolutely Loved our trip to Dreams Sands Cancun! It was the first time my husband and I visited this resort and won’t be the last! Everyone is so incredibly nice - we especially loved our favorite server, Sergio as well as Alexander and Jayden from the Entertainment Team!! Michelle is also a bundle of energy! I wish I could list them all! The beach is stunning. The entire resort is clean and very well kept- this building may be dated, but is held to the Hyatt standard. We did attend the Hyatt Vacation Package and bought it! If you travel and like the Hyatt brand, I recommend attending, they work with you to get what fits your lifestyle. Loved Omar and his team of professionals!! ❤️
Las albercas y la vista al mar.
Carlos, Jayden and Alex were the star of the show, first time in cancun with my partner and another couple and we can’t say enough about them, always in a great mood and making us feel welcome, great standards were set by them on behalf of the hotel
It’s the best place. Carlos by entertainment is the best!!!!!! The drinks are good and the food is the best. I would come here again.
The staff are really wonderful. Everyone is really kind and outgoing. The atmosphere is very beautiful. The rooms are very well maintained and the staff makes sure everything is comfortable. The view at this location is unimaginable. Neighbors are pretty respectful and nights are beautiful with only the sounds of the ocean at night. They also have lots of activities throughout the day. And the food is amazing! I would definitely come here again! Everything is so beautiful and affordable. It's such a paradise
Amazing trip!!! Food and shows were great! Carlos and Michelle entertainment team are the best!!! amazing place to stay!!
I would like to recommend this hotel in Cancun-such an amazing place and fantastic food and experience.Specially wanted to say Big thank you to Leydi Laura Martinez Chavez-Pasteleria for her homemade tiramisu- excellent flavour and delicious- well done 👍 Also thank you to Pedro for his excellent service and always welcoming us and looking after us all the time-he’s the best ✨ We will be back definitely and keep this high standard for the future ✨💖🍀
This holiday is lovely I have traveled with my mum and we are still having a wonderful time here at Dream Sands hotel, the hotel has nice choice of restaurants and places to eat and get your coffee. Portofino and thr waiting staff was excellent- to mention Pedro our favourite waiter and the nice lady that is behind the tiramisu dessert- Leydi Laura Martinez Sanchez from pasteleria. The Japanese restaurant is also nice and we are still going to try the fiesta Mexicans this week. Gaucho grill was also nice, but plates are too small. I recommend this hotel to anyone as it has a positive atmosphere and friendly people working here.
Awesome service from everyone. Loved the beach. Eric and Anai at check in were good. Alex at the grill house, Isaac with Yesenia at the pool were awesome with the drinks. Booked Chichen and jet skies with Jose from Amstar. He explained everything clearly, and it was exactly as he said. He helped us with information about the hotel and tours, and even assisted us with towels and beach chairs. He was the best. Thank you all !!!
We just returned and had an amazing time, mainly due to the staff members who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Michelle on the entertainment team is very interactive and made the week so fun! Mario helped to make our pool experience outstanding. And so so many more that I can’t even name. We will definitely be back!! Thank you to everyone!!
This review is primarily for the management of the resort. We took our 5 month old son on his first trip here. We were very rudely awakened at 10 pm by the general manager of the hotel 1st by calling our room on the very loud phone. When we didn’t answer they came knocking on our door and ringing the doorbell at 10 pm for a matter that could have been worked out the next morning at check out. Our reservation clearly states we checked in with a baby & even so when we complained to the concierge he said it is their policy not to disturb guests after 9 pm. Even after admitting they violated their own policy and woke up our baby they did absolutely nothing for us except offer some cheap “gifts” we didn’t want. The manager didn’t even come out to apologize for their wrong doing. Also would like to mention they “upgraded” our room to be right next to where they are doing construction to a nearby room. Loud banging was heard even at 9 pm. Unbelievable again knowing that we were checking in with a baby. We are not ones to complain or write reviews but do not stay here. There are plenty of other nice resorts in the area.
Nice facilities with clean rooms and friendly staff. The food was adequate but not anything I'd want to eat again. There were a lot of children at the resort and no adults only pool. That's an issue and I hope they change that policy. Avoid the sales pitch! Promises of 90 minutes went to 5 hours and wasted nearly or entire day.
Nothing -just the location
We booked this hotel for our stay at 4 am ( last minute ). We got there in the morning and to be honest I couldn’t even believe that this is one of the Hyatt hotels . Room was smelling so bad like a mold , the entire hotel is dirty starting from the windows , elevators , floors . Manager who was assisting us was extremely rude to us , careless and arrogant ( I managed high end places ur leader should never be like this guy ). We decided to move Hyatt Vivid instead , we simply couldn’t stay a one minute after seeing the dirt and smell in the room . They charged us almost 500 dollars even we booked it a few hours earlier and didn’t even use it . Terrible experience, terrible management I will write to their corporate . I never felt disrespected like I did at this place . I stay often at Hyatt this is embarrassing
