I was charged for 5 breakfasts where we specifically asked for just 3. 2 friends joined for just a coffee which we would've paid for additionally. But adding 2 coffees as a breakfast was a bit of an overkill.

Breakfast menu looked exciting but too expensive Cafe with a few ready made options would have been welcomed Vending machine did not funtion The fact that we did try to have a interleading family room did not work out so having to pay full price for kids under 12 was not favourable to us. Would we have been able to be refunded for the 6th person that did not arrive and stayed ? ...and have a single room instead. They did not even try the option

**20 years of loyalty, rewarded with an uncleaned room.** I specifically reported to reception that my room had not been serviced and was personally assured housekeeping would attend to it. I returned at 7:30pm to find the bed unmade and the room untouched. I was then told there were no staff available and it could only be cleaned the next morning, when I was checking out. My requested room was also unavailable on arrival despite repeated confirmation. I paid the full rate but did not receive the basic service I paid for. This is not my first similar experience at City Lodge Fourways. Deeply disappointing and unacceptable.

Old facilities, creaking doors and an entire school of kids that was hosted next door and ruined one of the nights.

Pleasant staff. Beds were comfortable.

The breakfast was average. Empty cold milk container every morning (had to ask) and limited fresh fruit. I had full breakfast the first day but eggs & bacon were served cold. I settled for continental the next few days. No bananas the last day - apparently out of stock- then they found them after I complained. Shower door leaked so had to clean up the water. TV was small. The room was noisy! The front desk staff could be more welcoming.

The circle just before their entrance isn’t user-friendly. There are many cars parked there & it looks a bit dodgy.

We asked to sit outside which we were told is fine. I asked one of the staff if we could get some cutlery etc. outside and she said she would arrange it. I went back after quite a while to ask her where it was, and she pointed to a counter and said she left it there for me. I thought that was very poor. The breakfast was fairly average to be honest, not the greatest experience I have had in a hotel.

I checked in at 14:15, and was sent to a room that still had not been cleaned or prepared. I went back downstairs to inform reception and the lady was very kind and sincere in apologising. She did offer another room but it wasn't one that met my requirements or what I booked for. I eventually got into the room at 15:30 while housekeeping was finishing up. I was disappointed that there was no small fridge in the room, nor was there any water provided for drinking. I would have paid for this if I had known, it's a small thing but does make a difference to a traveller.

There was no hot water for the entire 3 days I stayed there. I had to bath with cold water in winter and management didn't even come up with a solution or refund me my money. The worst accommodation I have experienced in a very long time

The only good thing was Adam, the driver who was very professional and respectful and his car was always clean.

There was no bottled water in the room. The AC was not working properly. Room had a damp smell. One of the lady receptionist shouted at me. was very rude. Talking to me while i was in the shower yet i had displayed the do not disturb sign and asked her to allow me to shower first. The same person never told me i would be charged for leaving the room late on my arrival day yet on my departure date i was overcharged.

Booking said view, room I was allocated was facing road, the internet was troublesome. And I wish there was a fridge in the room, why have the telephones been removed ?

It was clean and the location was convenient for me (not central Sandton but close to where I needed to be).

It really wasn’t good. There was a rip in the duvet cover, staff weren’t friendly (or competent), breakfast really wasn’t anything special, room service came with proper cutlery but the food was in polystyrene and there was no plate, the towels are too small, rough, and seem to be rationed because I had to hand in the used towel to get a fresh one. They also have the worst coffee I've ever had in a hotel. And it wasn't even that cheap.

We just needed a late night stay and found it to be very expensive especially since it didn't include breakfast.

Breakfast and location was amazing.

We had dinner at the hotel and the food was excellent.

The hair and body bar instead of body wash. It was grainy and not ideal.

The pizza I ordered qualifies as the worst I have ever had. I have stayed in this city lodge many times and the service has always been good but the rooms are looking tied and the place needs an upgrade. The restaurant food was disappointing.
