Road Lodge Centurion

A convenient base for what I needed. Staff were super friendly and helpful. It’s fairly dated for design and decor but that possibly reflects in the price. The bathroom is about as compact as you can get and the shower is small - I kept knocking the water mixer to “off” while showering. Quiet considering its location. Duvet incredibly heavy for the current weather. No fridge, but plenty of ice available .

Property needs renovation

Shower space is very small,wish they could place the dust bin in the bedroom as well.Other than that,their service is excellent,and the rooms are clean.

Adequate for what I needed. Very small room even smaller bathroom - thank goodness I was alone. Bed was comfortable and the room was surprising quiet considering it was overlooking the carpark and very close to reception/ breakfast area. Very dated decor. Could do with a facelift. Shower has loads of hot water and good pressure but pees all over the bathroom floor because put poor door seal. Loved the small outdoor area by the pool - has a lovely view out over centurion with a great breeze. Didn’t eat any food there or use any other facilities so can’t comment on those . Enjoyed unlimited access to the ice machine - critical as the room has no fridge .

The place its clean but carpet smelling i have sinuses

Initial room provided 240, aircon was non functional. We were asked to moved to 153 and TV was not working. Cables exposed. The shower was filthy to say the least as had to place the bath mat in the shower to shower. The shower floor was in a terrible state like it had not been clean for ages. The linen was mouldy smelling. The room was stuffy like damp smell. I have never been so appalled by the state of a room - and clhg should really look into the review of this road lodge. Don’t operate a hotel if the bare minimum cannot be done. Cleanliness is paramount! I had intentions prior to my stay to rebook a few more nights but the condition completely changed my mind.

I love staying at Road Lodge every time , I am around centurion. The service is amazing, the staff is friendly and accommodative, pool is clean, the rooms are also very neat and clean , accessibility is just perfect. My only concern is there was no toilet blush, which throw me off a bit.

From the moment we got there, the service, the staff was amazing. The location of this hotel was in the heart of Centurion, access able and very convenient. I am definitely coming back here. This place has a lot of privacy, vey quite and clean.

Very nice overnight place

It was clean comfortable and not to expensive. The breakfast was ok. The Road Lodge is situated close to shopping areas.

The linen was old and had holes in it, the heater /air conditioning did not work properly besides not being clean. The upside was the staff was friendly

its an average basic hotel. my bed was lopsided. very uncomfortable. if ur a solo traveller that just needs a room to overnight, then its perfect!

There are no phones in the rooms to call reception, and there were people drinking and making noise the whole night without being reprimanded.

I requested a romantic turn down and the team exceeded my expectations completely, the manager went out herself and brought everything I requested and more, (at the fee approved by me) The room was beautifully decorated. Loved it

I didn't expect to be changed by so much, there one little soap that breaks in to pieces on first touch.

Generally the service was good. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of supplies in the room. Bedside tissues and hair shampoo in the bathroom. If the lack of tissues in the room is linked to COVID, the hotel could opt for smaller packets or indivialised supplies of tissues.

Definitely amazing

The breakfast was very disappointing. How can you serve chicken sausage with scrambled egg. That's like eating the mom and the child. They served pork assuages and they were raw and smelled off. I did complain to the desk and hoped that things would be different on my return trip but nothing had changed. Breakfast is important to me as I have a very busy schedule when I travel, I will definitely be looking fr a more suitable accommodation with better food. Also, even after advertising that cold beer could be purchased from reception, on none of my visits has there been any available.

The room was super tiny, there was no space to move around as the bed took up most of the space. I asked for 2 twin beds and got a double bed, but honestly 2 single beds wouldn't have fit in there. Toilet with a shower, clean but nothing else to mention. No sample shampoo or amenities. 2 servings of coffee available. No breakfast included with the price of R800 per night. Beautiful swimming pool at reception, but view of concrete buildings from the room. Definitely not worth the visit.

Our 2nd visit to this Road Lodge which is clean and comfortable and convenient for where we want to be in Centurion. The front desk staff can sometimes be a it surly but the venue works for us.

For the price we paid you couldn’t complain about this place. Having read some previous reviews I was a bit unsure what to expect re breakfast but it was actually fine. The lack of a lift was the only real negative as had to drag case upstairs. 3 nice restaurants next to hotel

Good value budget stay. All clean and room well serviced. Air conditioning very noisy.

AC broke on my last night, no elevator. Smoking on first floor which rises to the upper floor. To be fair, this is a budget hotel, and you're getting exactly what you're paying for.

Enjoyable

Was a comfortable stay and staff were helpful and always pleasant.

Everything was tops staff was helpful even assisted with an hour late checkout without any fuss

The only comment was that we had an inter-leading room, and although the door was locked we could hear the person through the door sneezing and coughing. Very disturbing during the evening.

It is conveniently located. Good sining areas, closer to the malls and ttain statuon.

There was no water to buy or to be served after 22h. One of the Security guards was very disrespect with my daughter. The night staff wasn't helpfull with our necessities.

Customer service was very poor I requested a baby cot upon arrival, it was never delivered. I then collected it myself and it was dusty n could not work properly, I then requested service and no one came.

Experiance at Road Lodge was a nightmare. First we were booked in a room 43, 10 m from reception. The noice was horrible. We were moved to a conecting room, room 265. 2nd Floor. 02h00 still awake from noice in the room next door. Very bad. Never again.

It is a lovely place to use for leisure which is more closer to everything

We were satisfied with the service, cleanliness and comfort. We will definitely stay there again and will recommend to others.

Only good thing was the cleanliness, service was mediocre (few times I waited for 10mins to get helped), breakfast is pricey(cheaper to buy breakfast at Steers across the road), no restaurant as stated on the website so you have to order food from there list of takeout places and still get charged R15 for delivery when Steers is literally across the road or a decent Restaurant (Rapsody’s) is also across the road. The beds are uncomfortable 😣 woke up every morning with back ache due to the mattress sinking in, I’m 1.8m 72kg so it shouldn’t have sunk in like that. Not to mention only enough coffee/tea for 1 person and 1 cup yet there is 2 cups in the room, then you would have to go downstairs to reception and pay R10 for a cup of coffee/tea and can’t even have a refill.

The reception was exceptionally good. The room was very comfortable but the bathroom was not cleaned properly - the floor was wet and there was hair on the floor. There was also only one set of coffee given even though we booked two adults.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The Rooms were very small. Everything else excellent.

I have already stayed at many road lodges in SA, but Centurion are worse. In the room the tea and coffee facilities was for one person, but i paid for two people, no teaspoons. The cooldrink machine was not working for four days. The breakfast was even worser, when we arrived for breakfast on Friday morning there was only one sausage and no eggs and we paid R85 each. On Sunday the reception lady was very rude to school kids who was struggling with the cooldink machine. I will never go there again

My wife stayed for 2 days for business in Centurion. Lady at reception wasn’t very friendly but room was good and clean and met her expectations.

Super amazing stay

Booked a non-smoking room but when we got there they told us they only have smoking rooms and the room did not smell good at all. Also room wasn’t very clean

Convenient, clean and really good value for money. Comfy bed, if they had provided a complimentary shower gel that would have been helpful.

Overall the atay was pleasant. However, upon arrival there was no warm welcome or acknowledgement...instead it took 3 people to assist one guest. Not the type of service I came to expect from one of the City Lodge Hotels. They also dis not accommodate our special requests. When asked about it, it felt lile they were reluctant to assist and the end answer was sorry. Not sorry we can accommodate your request or let me check.

It was an amazing,cheerful and splendid stay

The staff are reasonable. The facilities are basic. The TV has no international news channel such as BBC, RFI or CNN.

Good budget hotel in a convenient location and it is comfortable.

Had a great stay. Its a good place and wonderful location. Very good Wifi.

Too full with a National Traffic Police convention. As pensioners we were put on top floor with no elevator. It was strenuous going up and down. The convention guests got the major part of the service and we felt in the way.

Very dirty toilet! Noisy until 3 o clock in morning. Pipes in rooms a humming noise 24 hours!

Rooms were very small .We booked 2 rooms with an inter leading door .The locks on the inter leading were broken . we were based on the 2 nd floor . No lifts at the hotel. I did see an old man using a walker to go to the 3 rd floor . Towels were not replaced after the first night .I had to request for clean towels .We ate breakfast else as the breakfast was not good for R80 .Would not use again with my family for a 2 night stay . Its okay for an overnight stay. Wifi never worked
