Our TV was broken and we were not notified until we got there. Unable to change rooms and no other option to go somewhere else at the very lat minute. We were extremely disappointed as we checked in at 4:00 pm and had the rest of the night to sit in the room as it was raining outside.

So cozy and perfect location. Walked everywhere. The daily breakfast was delicious and different each day.

Al di là del costo eccessivo rispetto alla semplicità della struttura siamo rimasti basiti e molto dispiaciuti e colpiti negativamente dalla scortesia della ragazza dello staff: sin da subito e stata davvero per nulla gentile, rude, in certi momenti canzonatoria, dimostrando nessun interesse per le più semplici richieste che le abbiamo fatto. Una cosa assurda! Viaggiamo spessissimo e da molti anni e un atteggiamento così respingente e maleducato non ci era mai capitato! Che peccato!

A very homely environment with an old world charm added. The decor is vintage. The ladies maintaining the property attend promptly attend to guest request. Rooms are well maintained. Breakfast is served in the dining room, and the menu is different each day. Prepared by the ladies. Location is near restaurants, bus stops, and walking distance fron the Town Centre. Highly recommended.

Without a lift, climbing the stairs to the upper floor room was hard for us seniors.

The breakfast was good.

It was cramped. It was too hot to sleep comfortably. When the AC was on, it was loud, and the AC required to window to be open! To deal with the noise, I assume, the hotel offered earplugs! It was way overpriced for the room.

The breakfast was amazing.

The no shoes rule and the room. The shower/toilet was so small I couldn’t close the door to get in the shower. The toilet paper is hitting your leg when you are sitting on the toilet and the shower was not clean. The bed was uncomfortable and the air conditioner was very loud.

The breakfasts were great and varied. A wide range of teas. A spacious communal area inside and an outside veranda. A lovely rooftop Jacuzzi and bookable steam room. A nice, quiet location but walkable to the centre of Canmore and all the key facilites.

The main bedroom bed was extremely high and a challenge to get in, especially for my partner with some mobility issues. The water flow in the shower was weak and the lowest temperature was quite warm.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights in the Vermilion room. The location is excellent, the house is beautiful and spotless, the hosts are kind, and the breakfast is delicious — BUT the room was extremely hot. When we brought this up with the woman in charge, assuming the heating had been left on by mistake, she explained that wasn't the case at all — the room was just naturally hot in summer, and we could use the tower fan and open the window (during peak mosquito season, no less), since there's no A/C. Unfortunately, this made it impossible to properly rest during our vacation, and with no alternative room offered and no other availability anywhere else at that time of year, we were stuck with it. Bottom line: think twice before booking this stay if you're paying over $2,000 for a place that markets itself as top-tier service but simply isn't equipped for summer comfort.

Beautiful quaint bed and breakfast. Food was amazing. Staff were super friendly. Loved our experience here. Would definitely come back if we return to Canmore.

Would have preferred air conditioning in our room but they did have a fan which was nice, and we did know this ahead of time.

It was never disclosed that the rooms did not have air-conditioning. It was a very warm time outside and therefore our room was uncomfortable both evenings. We did use the portable fan left in the room. But we thought that it should have been advertised as having no air conditioning.

Whilst not a problem for us, you have to climb stairs to your room. No USB plugs in the room.

Position and good parking

The upstairs window was not allowed to be opened and the blind were inadequate.

We checked into the Lady Macdonald Country Inn, for 3 nights to round off a 3 week trip from Vancouver to Calgary, the girl on reception was very welcoming, and showed us to the room, which looked lovely at first sight, however after going out for our bags etc and put in room, I could hear a significant noise of what sounded like a boiler system or laundry room, so I mentioned to the receptionist she assured me that it goes of at 8pm, however it didn't, we should of guessed as when I returned to the room after pointing this noise out, my wife says have a look at this, it was a bowl full of packets of ear plugs, the girl did say if I still wasn't happy. In the morning she said she would try and move us, got up in morning to a different receptionist only to be told they were full and could not move room but would give us a discount, I said it's a 450 dollar a night room,you get no sleep, I think not and asked for a refund, which they gave me, and we left after first night and checked in elsewhere.

The room, which looked lovely at first sight, however after going out for our bags etc and put in room, I could hear a significant noise of what sounded like a boiler system or laundry room next door.

The hot tub was great The staff were friendly and were very willing to help sort out an issue we had during our stay.

Unfortunately, we found the bed extremely uncomfortable. It was an old style frame bed which was wobbly, squeaky and very uncomfortable. Woke up after a Dorothy night with backache. The location is also noisy dir to the passing trains, but that's probably the case for most hotels along the main road through Canmore. We booked for 2 nights but only stayed for 1. The breakfast was also disappointing. You don't get to choose what you want and the scrambled eggs were hard, rather than soft and fluffy, and my toast was hardly toasted.

Breakfast was great, clean and friendly staff

The bedroom is not as sound proof as what we preferred when compared to other hotels and BnBs. You could hear the train pass through the town 4 to6 times at night and you could hear the guests next door, thankfully they were good and didn't stay up late. I assume the sound proofing was not the best because of the age of the building. Aside from that it was a pleasant stay.

Location and room

Was noisy at times . Staff talking and laughing among themselves.

The bed was comfortable, the staff was really nice, and the room had some charm/character. It was also really well located.

There was an intermittent vibration throughout the night, on and off, which made the whole bed vibrate. We were not able to sleep much at all that night. When paying so much to stay there, I expect to be able to sleep. Also, the outdoor patio adjacent to the room was not clean.

I've stayed at Lady MacDonald before. This was my second time and it was just as good as I remembered. The Inn is lovely and well appointed. I really liked the room that I stayed in as I was traveling with a friend. We stayed in the Mystic room which had a loft, so my friend and I each had our own space.

There wasn't anything that I didn't like. The Inn is lovely and the staff were polite.

The location was very good. I like that people had to take off their shoes before they entered and they gave people plastic sandals to wear.

The room was not good. The bed sheets were sloppily put on and didn't even cover the mattress. Surprisingly, the queen size bed was more comfortable than it looked. The floor was dirty in the bathroom and there were barely any hangers to put things on. There was a chair to sit in but the lamp next to it didn't work. It was warm in the room so we had to open up the door to the patio which felt exposed to animals, snoopy people, whatever. Not a particularly secure feeling. Breakfast were good but not great. Not really into BLTs with an egg on it for breakfast. There was no service per se, just when the staff dropped it off at the table. Everything was totally self service. I thought it was definitely overpriced and would never go back there again. We wanted a quiet room which it was until we had opened the door for air. Then you could hear the street noise. The room was cramped. Disappointing.

Overall staff very nice but a little inconsistent with assistance. On the first night we said we would have to leave too early for breakfast the next morning and the hostess said she’d have hot coffee for us in the morning .The last night I asked if we could get the same since we’d be leaving too early for breakfast and were told no.

Nothing at all about the place only the town was good.

The staff was very rude and the room wasnt clean at all and the bedsheets were dirty too and top of that there was theft as well someone took 300 dollars from my spouse bag and when we enquired about it the front desk was very rude and said we are lying about and there wasnt any money that was missing.

Das Zimmer war sehr ansprechend eingerichtet "in englischem Stil", es gab ein großes Bad und sogar eine eigene kleine Terrasse. Man hätte eine Sauna und einen Whirlpool nutzen können, der Speiseraum war die ganze Nacht geöffnet und man konnte sich Tee machen, etwas im Kühlschrank deponieren usw.

Der Schalthebel der Dusche fällt herunter, trotz großem Speiseraum gab es für das Frühstück nur Zeitfenster von 30 Minuten, wenig Auswahl, d. h. kein Käse, nur ein Glas Marmelade.

Location is perfect., restful sleep and great breakfast. Loved the selection of herbal teas.

A reasonably priced and very good place to stay. Comfortable bed, well-appointed room, pleasant hostess, spotlessly clean and inviting hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Shower pressure adequate. Only drawback: no window and patio door couldn't be locked in slightly open position.

Tea and coffee is offered through out the day along with snacks. They have a hot tub and a sauna for recovery after those active days. Breakfast was decent.

The rooms could definitely use some renovation and updating. The AC/fan unit looked like it was from the 1970s, and the other room we booked didn’t even have one, which made it feel very stuffy. The beds also need replacing — you could clearly feel the springs and supports were worn out, causing you to sink into the mattress uncomfortably. The sink and bathroom fixtures were very outdated and in need of replacement as well. Overall, the rooms felt tired and overdue for updates. We also found leftover cigarette wrappers and bits of weed in one of the table drawers, which was disappointing and raised concerns about cleanliness.

It was a split-level loft-style room. The lower level had a window, but the upper loft area only had a roof opening/skylight, so there was no proper outside view from the upper level.

Der Gast ist unmündig, wird empfangen mit Zetteln, die voraussetzen, dass man lesen soll. Dann soll jeder die Schuhe in dem Vorraum zur Rezeption lassen und hauseigene Slipper anziehen - bis zum Auschecken. Das Zimmer war mit allem vollgestellt, der Schreibtisch viel zu klein, das Bett viel zu hoch (mein großer Koffer diente als Tritt, um überhaupt in das Bett zu gelangen. Zum Frühstück gibt es nur das, was vorbereitet ist. Der Hausgeruch bleibt an allem haften, sogar in dem Wasser, das in die Trinkflasche abgefüllt wird. Beides musste entsorgt werden.

Our room was small. It would be better if there is small fridge and electric kettle at room. However, there is an easy access to the fridge at the lobby and we have access to the tea and coffee every time we beed.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful historic hotel. The atmosphere is truly magical, with stunning views, elegant interiors, and exceptional service. The staff was very welcoming and made us feel special from the moment we arrived. Everything was clean, comfortable, and full of charm. What a beautiful little Gem Boutique hotel that feels like home. The decore is insanely fabulous, beds that you want to stay in and never get up. The entire place is quaint, charming, warm & comfortable beyond measure. A mix of old world charm with modern conveniences. Hot, home cooked breakfast included. The dining room leaves you feeling like you just walked into Grandma’s house. The view of the mountains is certainly a nice plus, but I would still stay in this place if it was in the middle of a bald prairie. The staff are welcoming, friendly and very accommodating. Good parking available for those who need it. We will always look to stay here whenever we travel through. Thank-you for a lovely stay!

We stayed here for my pregnant wife’s birthday and the experience was very disappointing. At check‑in we were not informed about any water outage. We only found out after entering the room, and other guests also said they weren’t warned. The water was off for a long time, the “restoration time” kept changing, it was turned off again in the evening, and the next morning we were told it would be turned off once more. During the outage it was impossible to use the toilet, wash our hands, or take a shower, and the only “solution” was hand sanitizer at the entrance, which is completely inadequate, especially when one guest is pregnant. When the water still wasn’t back at the promised time, I asked for a refund and was ready to leave. As soon as the water suddenly came back, we decided to stay to avoid wasting more time looking for another hotel, but about 30 minutes later it was shut off again. A discount and late check‑out were not offered proactively – I had to insist, was first refused, and they were only granted after the second outage in the evening. We only cut a small gender‑reveal cake and took a few photos together in a common area for a few minutes – this was not an event or party, yet the hotel later described it as if we had used an “event space for free”. Basic toiletries like a toothbrush and toothpaste were not prepared in the room and were brought only after I asked. In the lobby, one red‑haired staff member openly discussed guests in her Slovak language, not considering that some guests might understand her, which felt very disrespectful. Overall, repeated water outages, poor communication, and unprofessional staff behavior made this stay extremely disappointing.
