A lovely, beautiful place with separate units that you can book. Everything was clean and beautifully decorated, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and our stay very comfortable. We had to leave early in the morning, and they even arranged breakfast for us to take on the road, which was a very thoughtful touch. The location is also excellent and very convenient.

Everything about my stay was exceptional! Wonderful warm welcome, helpful staff in every area of the hotel, genuinely friendly service, beautiful room and exquisite bathrooms. The food in the restaurant and bar was outstanding. Gorgeous outdoor pool!

The only thing I could comment on that was remotely negative was the lack of charging points next to the bed, however this is a minor inconvenience and in no way negatively impacted my perfect stay.

In front of the room was swimming pool and they repair it but the fence around was not good to look at it. We want to sit outside but the view to look on the pool was very bad. Why they did not gave us another room?????????????????????

Sehr schönes Hotel mit sehr ansprechendem Ambiente. Sehr reichhaltiges Frühstück mit großer Auswahl. Sehr zentral gelegen. Es fehlt hier an nichts (Swimming pool, Sauna, Wellness,..). Alles vorhanden.

A little staid. Floor boards in the bedroom squeaked, so it was difficult to visit the bathroom during the night without disturbing partner.

My wife stayed while I was on hunting trip- she ordered a burger room service - dry, not tasty Pancakes/ flapjacks for breakfast - tasted “ off” Was handed a R2700 bill at check out , had nuch trouble convincing staff that not her bill, they eventually agreed that she woudnt order 3 meals+++ for herself, and conceded not her signature on bill after making her feel really bad- we do this every year and first time this happened

Dinner disappointing had high expectations for the lamb curry, the breakfast was average lousy omelette and stale scones

Room was very comfortable with beautiful decor. The breakfast provided many choices of food, catering for all tastes. Dinner was unfortunately lacking in vegetarian options, but the soup was delicious.

2 TV sets in the room was too much and the fact that they can't be turned off (resulting in a 'floating LG logo') kept me from having a good night's sleep.

A beautiful old style hotel that has retained its charm. We enjoyed a fabulous meal in the dining room and are planning on bringing family to stay when they visit later in the year.

Beautiful Hotel, look & feel and design is, great location in the beautiful town of Graaff-Reinett, very nice breakfast....It's gonna be our go to if we are on our way to Joburg or on our way back home for sure.......

Check in - we booked through booking.com and we were not in the system. So their booking system clearly does not communicate automatically with booking.com. There was enough space, so it was not a problem, but is does look unprofessional and can give big problems in busy times.

Please suplly bed side carpets as the floors are cement and very cold.

The property is so central with the most friendliest staff. Our room had every amenity that you could need and it was super clean and the homely feel of the gardens and surrounds made us feel so welcome

room VERY small, no electric blanket in icy weather. Floor tatty and no mats. little table outside; cushions wet. Restaurant: although we booked, we had to wait almost an hour for a table. Chose a restaurant rather the next two evenings. Restaurant: Evening menu was impressive, but 2x starters very disappointing. ( tartlet and shrimp/gnocchi with chili sauce Breakfast buffet was great, but ordered meals not great. Service at breakfast very good.

Exceptional variety and quality of food. Loved the heated floors in the bathroom, as well as the complimentary coffee machine in the room.

I hope you are doing well. I would like to bring a concerning matter to your attention. We dined at your restaurant on Friday evening, and my daughter ordered a chicken wrap. She did not finish the meal at the restaurant, so the remainder was packed as a takeaway. The following day, while eating the wrap in the car on our way home, she discovered a piece of wire inside the food. I have attached photographs of the wire that was found. Fortunately, she noticed it before swallowing it, but the situation could easily have resulted in a serious injury had the wire been ingested. I am sure you will appreciate my concern, and I would like to understand how this could have happened. More importantly, I would like to know what steps you intend to take to investigate the incident and prevent something similar from happening again. Beautiful, landmark hotel offering a true 5 star experience down to the last detail. We had a superb dinner and the restaurant, breakfast was exceptional and our room was pure luxury. We arrived after a long day in the car and left early but it didn’t feel like just somewhere to put our head down. It was a complete experience.

The bed was a bit small so we’ll book a double room next time.

The comfort and attention to detail was outstanding. The breakfasts are beautifully presented with an extra menu which was copious and utterly 😋. Can't wait to go back to experience this loving luxury. Thank you.

Staff at reception could have been better

We requested 2 single beds as they were on offer versus a double bed. On presentation only a double bed was available. Seemed to be confusion or lack of information between booking on the Booking.com App and the actual room available at the hotel.

The hotel was in a great location, with good parking and gardens. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Our room didn't look anything like the pictures from Booking.com, and our booking specified 'with terrace' and we were put in a room upstairs on the first floor, with a narrow steep staircase. The room had low ceilings, and heavily stained carpets throughout, where on the pictures it shows wooden flooring. The kettle leaked badly from the bottom over my papers, and one day the cleaning person left their cloth on the bathroom ledge near where I kept my toothbrush.

the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The Service was excellent and the breakfast services was very quick.

The room we were provided wasn't the same as what we had reserved on Booking.com and paid for. Our booking specifically said 'with Terrace' and we were put on the first floor, up a narrow staircase. I queried this with the manager at reception, but we were told there were no other rooms available, and that the booking correctly matched the room type. The pictures didn't look anything like the room, which had a low ceiling and carpet throughout full of stains. The kettle leaked from the bottom onto my papers and all over the table. The worst part is that we could hear the guest below us through the floor/thin walls was snoring the whole night, which meant I could barely sleep. The one day when we got to the room, the cleaning person left their cleaning rag in the bathroom on the vanity near where I had been keeping my toothbrush.

We loved our stay at this gorgeous hotel, and received a warm welcome by the wonderful team who keep everything running so smoothly.

A truly wonderful hotel steeped in history. Beautiful, comfortable rooms, stunning bathrooms and the underfloor heating was a luxurious touch! The cigar lounge was a real highlight. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it!
