This is not anything bad regarding the hotel but it smelled a little bit odd.

The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable, the room interior felt authentically Japanese, and having a private onsen was a real treat. The views were excellent too, overall it exceeded my expectations of what a traditional Japanese stay could be.

Reviewed Sep 7, 2026The staff were very hospitable and attentive. They rang the bell in the morning for breakfast, and at night, they set up the futon on the tatami floor for us to sleep. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We really appreciated the thoughtful service! It's very closse to Hakone Yumoto station like 2 to 3 mins walk and close to the small shops and restaurant and has a very relaxing view of the river and mountains and we love our private hot spring bath and the Japanese breakfast set up and the food is amazing.

We could not handle the futon beds. We are both in our 60’s and the bed was just too hard. Also getting out of bed was an issue and having to sit on the floor. We also struggled to eat the breakfast. Beautifully prepared and lots of food but we could not eat it first thing in the morning.

使用booking.com時，已設定入住人數為二位大人和一位小孩，訂房後到了飯店check in，房務人員堅持只收到二位大人的房錢，所以要另外加一位小孩的費用。飯店堅持，這是房客和booking.com的問題，即使我有拿出訂房網頁資料給飯店查看，飯店仍要我們自己去解決，卻完全沒有想要協助和平台確認訂房事宜。

Der Kunde ist hier nicht König. Essenszeiten werden einem diktiert. Die Hausordnung bekommt man als erstes und wichtigstes in die Hand gedrückt... Das in die Jahre gekommene Gebäude stinkt beim Betreten schon muffig, was sich dann leider auch im Zimmer fortsetzt. Die Teppichböden sind alt, verschlissen und verdreckt. Die Wandverkleidungen, Türen und die Bäder sind aus billigsten Materialien und billigsten Armaturen. Das Hotel machte insgesamt auf mich einen schmuddeligen Eindruck. Ich habe mich nicht wohl gefühlt. Das zwangsweise mitzubuchende Abendessen und Frühstück war eine Zumutung für jeden normalen Gaumen und Magen. Das änderte sich auch nicht bei der Umbestellung auf kontinetales Frühstück. Beim Abbestellen des Abendessens bekommt man nur unhöflich gesagt, dass man dafür das Geld nicht zurück bekommt, auch wenn man gar nicht danach gefragt hat. Es ist halt einfach so schlecht, dass man lieber wo anders noch einmal zahlt und dafür besser isst. Man kommt sich in diesem Hotel eher wie in einer Pilgerherberge mit strengen Regeln und spartanischer Einrichtung und Essen vor, als in einem Luxushotel, für das sie sich ja ausgeben und für das man auch letztlich bezahlen muss. Wir haben dafür knappe 400€ pro Nacht bezahlt. 40€ wäre es mir Wert gewesen. Wenn mir das in Europa passieren würde, würde ich einen Prozess anstreben um mein Geld zurück zu bekommen. Ich möchte hiermit jeden, der das Hotel auswähl, warnen, dass er einen "Mercedes" kauft und aber nur einen "alten, klapprigen Fiat Panda" für sein Geld erhält.

Los baños están muy viejos y la ducha súper incómoda, deberían cambiarlas.

Reviewed Aug 28, 2026Très bon séjour passé dans ce ryokan entre tradition et modernité. La chambre avec le bain d'eau thermale sur la terasse rend le moment agréable. Les équipements sont propres et modernes. Le personnel est aux petits soins et la nourriture est également très appréciable. Le logement est à 5 minutes de la gare à pied ce qui est très pratique.
Je dirai que les onsens de l'hôtel ne sont pas exceptionnels par rapport au lieu et le prix de la nuitée. Ce n'est pas le meilleur rapport qualité prix dans le genre ryokan.

La questione cena e colazione . Non siamo riusciti ad apprezzare la bravura e l’impegno dello chef in quanto tutte le pietanze ci sono state servite in un unico momento e non sapevamo né da dove iniziare né cosa mangiare . Magari sarebbe stato bello per gli stranieri una spiegazione (come lo è stata data su come indossare lo yukata) sulle pietanze, non solo l’elenco degli alimenti ma anche il loro scopo e il loro ordine tradizionale di come vanno assaggiati.

La cena kaiseki servita in camera è stata eccezionale così come gli onsen (consiglio quelli open air). Tutto pulito e ben arredato. I dintorni di Hakone sono meravigliosi! Consiglio vivamente!

料理の説明があまりなく、美味しかったのですが説明があった方がより美味しく感じると思いました。 1階でコーヒーが飲み放題なのですが、コーヒー自体苦手でほかのドリンクがあるといいなと思いました。

Esperienza interessante quella di dormire in un ryokan, dormendo con i futon sul pavimento. Bello anche aver provato ĺ'onsen pubblico per i clienti del ryokan (separato per uomini e donne).Colazione in camera, si può scegliere se fare quella giapponese o occidentale.
La stanza era un pò rumorosa a causa del frigorifero e dell'aria centralizzata.

Everything was perfect, from the welcoming in Hakone to our departure the next day. The staff was amazing, ready to attend to every need, and answer our questions. The room was super nice, with a very good view and the private onsen was spectacular. We loved our traditional Japanese breakfast too. Hakone is an amazing place to stay for a weekend, and we really recommend this hotel :)

Reviewed Aug 19, 2026Ryokan con onsen consigliato da un amico che ci era già stato. Avevamo la camera con vasca privata sul terrazzo, una meraviglia. Acqua termale sulfurea direttamente in terrazzo affacciati sulle cascate. Chi ha l’onsen in camera mangia in una saletta privata ma separata, la cena era kaiseki (tanti piccoli piattini di alta cucina giapponese). Gusti molto forti ma sicuramente un’esperienza. Il personale gentilissimo, il tutto a 2 min dalla stazione.

Przez pobyt opiekowała się nami Pani, która wszystko tłumaczyła, wyjaśniała, jak zachować się w różnych sytuacjach, przygotowywała futony do spania i sprzątała je. Pełniła również rolę gospodyni podczas posiłków. Przygotowywała je w sąsiednim pokoju jadalnym, który był przeznaczony wyłącznie dla naszej 4-osobowej rodziny, serwowała poszczególne dania i wyjaśniała, jak je jeść. Same dania kolacji były różne- od bardziej smacznych po mniej smaczne, ale nikt nie wyszedł głodny. Onseny bardzo klimatyczne, kameralne, warto skorzystać. Duży plus to bliskość dworca, dzięki czemu łatwo wybrać się na zwiedzanie okolicy.

Le personnel est adorable. Onsen très agréable, ouvert toute la nuit (plusieurs bains en extérieur et intérieur). Situé à quelques pas de la Gare de Hakone Yumoto, et a proximité de pleins de restaurants.

One of the big parts of the experience are the dinner and breakfast. For the dinner we had a paper with the translations of each of the meal we were eating but we didn’t have the same for breakfast. I think this detail it’s important because the prices are not low and for the price you would like to know what are you exactly eating.

Onsen was way too hot - nearly 50 degrees. There were a lot of bugs in the onsens; I would hope they’d sweep webs more frequently to eliminate the bugs. There was no menu with breakfast so I did not know what I was eating. It was tasty, though.

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, half board accommodation. Including a private traditional dinner in the room and a private breakfast in the room. The hostesses were kind and welcoming, there was plenty of traditional food. We needed adjustments for a pregnant woman, and they did everything they could to help. Keep in mind that these are traditional Japanese dishes with all that that implies. We stayed in an upgraded room, the room was excellent, the hospitality was wonderful. An unforgettable experience. Highly recommend.
