Struttura eccellente e servizi impeccabili

Lokatie is top! Zeker aan te raden.
Geen feedback maar de zwembaden sloten vrij vroeg.
I am staying at the Arona Gran for a third time and are currently still here. I have given 3 stars due to the following: The rooms need a bit of an update and I have a floor board up in my room that if you caught it you would have an injury. The food at dinner apart from the cooking stations is only warm which may put a few people off. There are a lot of pigeons at night flying around the outside bar seating area and landing on tables and chairs doing their business (the staff are constantly cleaning up the best they can). The sound system in the evening for entertainment is not working properly (I thought the team would have fixed this after 4 days of issues). Some of the issues above have been raised before on reviews but it seems the reply’s from the Arona Gran are just lip service and no action came. Come on Arona Gran you can do better. I am out again in 4 weeks time but unsure if I will stop at this hotel again.
Check in was quick and easy and we could access our room immediately which was great. We were on the Up package and found the food and drink good although it became quite repetitive . This additional cost works out quite expensive but we could see that a sunbed around he main pool would be an issue. Sunbeds were readily available on UP area but we would have liked an air conditioned area to eat comfortably in. The shaded areas outside were stifling and you could not leave your food unattended for a minute due to the birds. Most of the staff were friendly and pleased to serve you with only a few exceptions. It was however very off putting to have people(mainly large hairy men) entering the food areas with only their swimwear. Very unhygienic and although there were signs no member of staff approached them to put on clothes before they could squeeze up against the buffet. The entire hotel is beautifully laid out and very well presented. Entertainment was reasonable and the restaurant was never too busy and all food was piping hot and constantly refreshed. We were on the top floor and had an excellent young cleaner who I think was called Junaid( or something close). She did a superb job and never once disturbed us. We enjoyed the included massage and therapy steam session although nothing was explained to us about using the circuit. We had an issue with the flooring but it was dealt with by reception successfully as I felt customer satisfaction was very important to them. The market on Tuesdays and Saturdays is right next door but very claustrophobic due to the heat. Los Christianos was a quieter resort than Las Americas and it took about 25 minutes to walk there. Air conditioning was set in the rooms but we would have preferred it cooler. We visited the a la carte restaurant but the vegetarian dishes wer simply taken from the buffet so not really a different menu. This restaurant was deserted when we ate there so we probably would not recommended it. There was a mixture of age groups but most were in the older age span although this had no impact on our enjoyment. Reception has the wow factor upon entering and the hotel rightly deserves its stars. Immaculately clean throughout with beautiful furnishings in all areas.
Fantástico hotel,,,personal muy amables y atentos y el bufete, desayuno y cena bastante bien,,volveremos seguro 👍
Todo es un hotel de 10. Tanto la ubicación como las instalaciones.
Que la piscina cierre tan pronto
What can we say, from the warm welcome of the reception staff,to the friendly and helpful cleaners all very good. The Animation and fitness team need a special mention they are so much fun from the excercise classes to the game playing animation team, darts, quizes etc all well presented to us guests. we could not ask for more. The restaurant was in my eyes first class with variations every night, the waiters and waitresses were excellant. We WILL return
Had a fantastic holiday here. 4th time at this hotel. Entertainment staff are brilliant. Friendly and helpful. Food is fantastic and there is always something to eat, even for the most pickiest of eaters. Waiters are always pleasent and go out of there way to help you. Rooms are always clean and tidy and the bar staff are really good day and night. Entertainment is basic hotel, but occasionally you have one that about knocks your socks off, queen tribute band and Kapital Acrobatics where outstanding.
Having experienced my third stay at the Arona Gran Hotel with my family, I am disappointed that standards and expectations have declined since our first stay here in 2023. Is this hotel under new management? Some standards have remained strong. The rooms are maintained to a high standard daily and the hotel itself is still a largely pleasant experience; the majority of the staff are polite and helpful, with the exception of some of the reception and poolside team….see below. Breakfast, also, is still a strength of the hotel with a range of food and drink options. Presumably cost cutting however, now means the evening meal selection is average. Unfortunately, this hotel’s glory days seem to be behind them now. Firstly, during our last two stays here, ball games and inflatables in the pool were prohibited and this rule was enforced by poolside staff. Now that this hotel now allows said things all day every day in the pool, may I suggest that you nominate one of the pools where this is accepted rather than allowing the ball games to disturb people who want peace and quiet - as it is not nice being hit in the face by a stray ball. Similarly, as this hotel now accepts smoking and vaping in all outside areas (something that was previously only allowed in designated areas) please expect non-smoking guests to be unhappy when faced with the stench of cigarette and vape smoke when trying to relax in a supposed non-smoking area of the poolside. Thirdly, as this hotel now allows guests to play their own music loudly through Bluetooth speakers all day, don’t stay here if you aren’t a fan of listening to drum and bass or offensive language. Bottom line is, it appears that poolside staff (and reception) no longer seem to care to enforce/ prevent the niche things used to make this hotel outstanding. Finally, thank you to the majority of the staff who are unceasingly polite and helpful. I would like the reception staff however to bear in mind that when they bad-mouth guests as they walk away (from discussing an issue) that some guests do understand Spanish - I found the comments you, man with blue glasses, made to be rude and disrespectful. In light of the above and the subsequent decline in standards at this hotel, the former 5 star experience that this hotel offered is no longer.
Just back from the Arona Gran hotel in Tenerife . The Hotel itself was lovely , however the room wasn’t great , needs updated , the bathroom had mold round the shower and the door had chips out of it . The over head shower dripped . The location was good , great views over the harbour/sea. Entertainment was ok , there was a good few acts , atmosphere wasn’t great though. Value for money ? Mmm The food was lovely and great choice , however at dinner , you weren’t allowed to take your own water in as had to buy it even though they had water station in restaurant, they closed it off at dinner . Some of the staff were lovely and very welcoming , however there was a few who weren’t and felt that you were putting them out .
After a trouble free flight with Jet2, we arrived at the Arona Gran for the fourth time. We were signed in by Roberto and after some deliberation we were allocated room 163. This disappointed us as we had paid for a sea view and had requested a high floor but this room had a great view of the Jarria restaurant! Overnight we had a visitation from 2 cockroach which my wife was not amused with. The following morning we went to the front desk and saw Amanda who got us moved to the second floor with a wonderful sea view. As usual the food was plentiful and varied. We were ably assisted by Clemens, Carmen and Jessica with great assistance by the ubiquitous Esperanza! We were always able to get an outside table for breakfast and we met up with my brother and his wife for our evening meal. We didn’t use the sunbeds but the beds were policed and towels and belongings were removed by the pool guy before 10AM. Entertainment was pretty good with Queen, Elton John, Al Cafone and William Mangion and Arthur Peterson the best of the main bands but the stand out band was Gotramusic. However I would like to mention Dale Phillip, Claudio and Monika as excellent warm up acts. The bar staff ably marshalled by Andrea and Soto were once again brilliant. The hotel was once again up to expectation and we had a great fortnight. We have booked again to return for the fifth time in September 2026 and are looking forward to coming back to this brilliant hotel. See you soon Arona Gran
We stayed for two weeks from 14th July and we have had the most amazing holiday! The hotel, the staff, food, facilities & entertainment were all fabulous. We booked this hotel because we both needed a relaxing break and it did not disappoint. From check in ( this was the best check in ever) to check out ( this was also great) everything was just wonderful. We have stayed in some great hotels but this is up there with the best. Every member of staff is so helpful & kind. We can’t wait to come back.
A peaceful location, excellent service, and outstanding facilities. The UP restaurant is a must, and if you're interested in fitness, the gym is definitely worth a visit as well. This was our second stay at the hotel, and it was just as perfect as our first experience. We will definitely be back.
The staff work so heard and very kind location is fantastic rooms need a bit off up dated especially the wooden floors in bed room big chunks take out of them and starting to lift but part from that the room was very comfortable the the entertainment of a day what I seen was good but of a night very poor so your best to go out of a night. I only stayed in to see the entertainment 2 times there’s a Scottish bar over the road from hotel omg it’s brill karaoke 🎤 and it rocks 👍. Meals I seen a change in the meals the last few years not for the better the meals use to be amazing in the hotel but mostly fish 🐠 thay done duck thay never done duck 🦆 and pork ribs has I said the food use to be amazing there is don’t think the duck went down very well or the ribs atmosphere around the pool of a day was good but I can not comment on the night was only there 2 night out off 2weeks because the poor entertainment so sorry can no comment value for money ok . I need to do a big shout out to laly Gloria maz and Virginia thay made the hotel a better place not to forget all the reception staff and Stephanie ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Just got back from 14 nights at the Arona Gran . Seen a lot of You Tube videos saying it was for the older generation. Can assure you that is not the case . There was a nice mixture of holiday makers to be honest . One guy I spoke to this was his 17th visit to the hotel , and he said over the last two years the clientele had gotten considerably younger . Right my honest opinion, Cons The flooring in the bedroom needed attention with some glue , the crack by the tv also . Hand held shower in the bathroom had a split in it , and the doors could do with a lick of paint. Just a general bit of tidying up really. Pros , Staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble . The food at breakfast is plentiful and choice is as one would expect from a quality hotel. If you find the bacon a bit cold ask the chef to just put it back on the griddle for a couple of seconds , they will willing oblige. If you wish to sit outside for breakfast or evening meal please just ask a waiter to clear away a table that’s been finished with , again nothing is too much trouble. Dinner , again the choice is vast compared to a lot of so called top hotels I’ve stayed in and we can only say as we found , it was excellent. Now the UP experience Was my wife’s birthday whilst we were here and I decided to treat her to a day up at the UP . €170 for a day does seem expensive. But I can assure you if you like a drink or 10 , I’m T Total by the way , enjoy another light breakfast. A Tapas style lunch , Afternoon Tea and a lovely cheese board . The price is well worth it. We thoroughly enjoyed it . Also the bottle of Cava that was a birthday gift from the hotel delivered to our room was a lovely touch and much appreciated Thank you . Finally we’d like to thank all of the staff from the cleaners , waiters and reception for a wonderful holiday. From 242
Had a fabulous time at this hotel, from the moment we arrived we were greeted with a welcome glass of bubbly. Sofia checked us in and was very friendly. Food was delicious every night, we ate in every night of our 5 day trip. Room was everything you could want with a good view of the sea. Entertainment every night was an added bonus. Loved the family band that played one night and the aerobatics. Looking at bring our mums over in sept.
A lovely hotel with a great entertainment team. Very clean and fresh. Lovely food and drinks. Would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel.
We are just coming to the end of a ten night stay at this hotel. Stayed on a B&B basis, breakfast had good array of all the choices one would expect from a four star hotel. Plentiful supply of sun beds and parasols, even on days when we only arrived at the pool in the afternoon. Didn’t avail of evening entertainment - although the piano players 6-7pm were excellent . We strolled c 15/20 mins to the main port area in the evening to eat - there’s a good choice of restaurants, esp if you research recommendations in advance, and for restaurants like Damian’s Tapa’s Bar (fab!), booking is necessary. We were in room 642 with gorgeous views out over the bay. Good walk in shower and plenty of storage in the bedroom. Cold water dispenser and recycling facilities outside in the corridor. A very relaxing atmosphere throughout the hotel - aqua aerobics each day at noon, but otherwise peaceful tranquility is the order of the day.
Had a wonderful stay would recommend to anyone. Beautiful hotel and you’re treated so well by all the staff. Loved all the little touches like a drink on arrival, random free drinks at noon etc. Special shout out to the entertainment lady (name beginning with B but I forgot sorry!!) was such great fun. We got stuck into lots of the activities that were on during the day lots of fun. Pleasantly surprised by the food different options every night. Excellent location right by the seafront. Never had trouble finding a sun lounger by the pool even with the hotel being fully booked. If I’m being very picky these are a couple things.. I’m vegan and although I contacted the hotel in advance and spoke to the manager of the restaurant they couldn’t help at all so I did take a while reading all the allergen labels but I did find something every night. The only other ‘negative’ was we booked a 3 single bed room and one of the beds weren’t that comfortable as it was a pop up temporary bed. Other than that probably the best hotel expensive overall I’ve had and would visit again.
This hotel has been on our wish list for some time and didn’t disappoint. We arrived after 10:00 PM and checked in with a glass of cava, as we had missed dinner there was a cold buffet laid on in the restaurant. The hotel is large but doesn’t have the largest footprint, so sunbed space around the pools is prized. There were the inevitable ‘dawn patrollers’ placing towels from just after 7, the pool men did take them off unoccupied beds on a couple of occasions, but didn’t deter the determined! Sun beds have cushions which are more comfortable but can get very hot in the sun! The pools were refreshing given the temps that we encountered, but didn’t use the jacuzzi. There was waiter drinks service for those who wanted a drink brought to their sun beds. The room was large and comfortable with a table and two small easy chairs in addition to the beds, the aircon had to work overtime to keep the room cool but did it well. The bathroom was unspectacular with rain shower and normal shower head. Towels were changed almost daily and housekeeping made up the room early, often whilst we were at breakfast, muchas gracias. There was a reasonable sized balcony with a couple of reclining chairs and the addition of a wind out sunshade, a nice touch! The food was the highlight of the hotel, probably the best we have encountered anywhere in Europe, with so many choices for both breakfast and dinner it really was a diners delight. Hotel drinks were reasonably priced and a supermarket across the road was on hand for anything else, there were also water dispensers on each floor where you could refill your bottle with cold water, a nice touch. We were able, for a small charge keep our room till mid afternoon on our last day, and use the spa facilities to shower. Speaking to other guests it was clear that many were repeat visitors so that speaks for itself. There was outdoor entertainment every evening, singers, groups and acrobats, all good and enjoyed from our balcony! Given that we only booked three days before we grabbed ourselves a bargain!
Decided to stay at the Spring Arona Gran after reading reviews. The hotel has fantastic views of the bay, the hotel is immaculate and the pool area is beautiful. Staff were attentive and friendly. The morning and evening buffets had plenty of choice and the food was delicious, far better than other 4* hotels we have visited over the years. We used the UP Terrace on while we were there would recommend it. There were plenty of sun loungers available. The only downside for us was the quality of entertainment, which could have been better. We will definitely return.
Pues sinceramente no puedo decir nada.Salimos contentos.
Everything was wonderful
I moved room from 451 to 439 and left in the wardrobe a very expensive brand new jacket I got for my birthday. I called the hotel from the airport only to be told there was nothing left in the room.
The spa was lovely. We really enjoyed the buffet dinner. The variety was amazing . Breakfast equally as good .
Problem at check in . Was messed about regarding the rooms. Third time lucky. Kept repeating same info.
The hotel enjoys a beautiful location directly by the sea. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and the buffet offers an enormous variety of dishes with something to suit every taste. Most of the guests are retirees, which explained why the food is generally prepared with very little salt. While this may not appeal to everyone, it is understandable considering the hotel’s main clientele. Unfortunately, the beautiful pool area is only open until 6:00 PM each day. From that time on, the entire pool and outdoor area are thoroughly cleaned for at least four hours. Although we have never experienced such extensive daily cleaning before, we would like to compliment the hotel on its excellent hygiene standards. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the rooftop pool. However, we only learned at check-in that access is restricted to guests with no special booking category. Alternatively, a day pass can be purchased for an additional fee. We found this quite disappointing, as this information was not sufficiently clear during the booking process. For smokers, the hotel can be challenging. Smoking is only permitted in front of the hotel entrance and next to the pool bar. During the evening pool-cleaning period, reaching the smoking area can be difficult because guests must pass through a very wet outdoor area. We stayed at the hotel during my birthday, and I was pleasantly surprised with a bottle of sparkling wine in our room. This thoughtful gesture was greatly appreciated. Overall, we were satisfied with our choice and enjoyed our stay. Nevertheless, there is still some room for improvement, particularly regarding communication about the rooftop pool access and the usability of the outdoor areas in the evening.

Breakfast outstanding - beautiful pool and comfortable surroundings - nice walk straight onto the promenade.
El trato del personal fue muy bueno. Con una sonrisa en todo momento y muy cercanos. Las instalaciones son muy cómodas y limpias. Buen lugar para descansar y desconectar. Bien conectado con el paseo del puerto de los cristianos para dar paseos.
No puedo decir nada negativo.
Extraordinary food
This is a really lovely hotel, staff, food, friendliness, rooms are all excellent. Pool area is very nice and the reserving of sunbeds is quite well monitored, although we did feel that some regular visitors who known how the system works were able to abuse it, also some sun canopies do require some maintenance. The hotel is situated at the very far end of Los Cristianos so quite a good walk especially for the older visitors to walk so lots of guests seem to hire mobility scooters. If l had one main criticism of the hotel it was with the evening entertainment, there is plenty of entertainment however mostly the music played by the acts tended to be disco, looking around at the average age group of people staying in the hotel it tends to be 70 + , the result was no one was getting up to have a dance, perhaps the acts that preform there would be better to play a few waltzes, foxtrots, rumbas etc, the dance floor is very small however it would have been nice to have a little dance in the evening.
6th visit to this hotel, but it's 2 years since we were there. It has not changed its still a wonderful hotel. Food excellent, the salad selection is the best we have experienced anywhere, and the selection of other courses are varied. Pool area is also excellent with plenty of beds around even if down late. Bar service very good as is the pool bar. We had a room on the 6th floor overlooking the sea with a beautiful vista. Overall just a great holiday and we will be back sooner rather than later. Staff, reception, dining room staff all friendly. Congratulations to the Arona team with special mention for the Head Chef and his team.
Fantastic Hotel it was a pleasure to stay here, wonderful staff, reception very Helpful, changed my room to a bath the next day .food is fantastic, we were on the up which was Brilliant for us, easy to get around Hotel,We have Booked to stay for Christmas .🎅 can’t wait Hurts the wallet but you have to pamper yourself sometimes so will see you soon Michael.
Having enjoyed a 2 week holiday here last year we decided to do it again, this time we decided not to purchase the UP package. We lasted a week before giving in and upgrading. Not for the food and drink - we’re not big drinkers and I’m a picky eater - more for the ability to find a quiet sunbed. The beds by the main pool are far too close together for us; people face timing family, aerobics classes, towels on beds from 7am…my husband was constantly irritated. There is a policy of removing towels between 9 and 10 but personally I think they should be removed before 9. It seems reasonable to me to put your towel down, go for breakfast then come back, from 9. Many of us on holiday don’t want to be up at 7 and getting breakfast. UP doesn’t open until 10 so is far more relaxed and no claiming of beds. We also weighed up the cost of what we were spending through the day on lunch, coffee, water and found that we spent half the cost of UP so paying the extra bit for the quieter area, soft towels, nice seating area and views was worth it to us. It would be nice to have help with umbrellas as they are taken apart when not in use and many of the customers are getting on a bit and struggle to lift them. We had room 342 which was right outside the lift and stairwell. We liked it! Can be a bit noisy particularly at 8 but we were never disturbed when sleeping. Rooms are kept very clean and serviced at a reasonable time. We did have to chase for body wash when it ran out and ended up with 2 shampoos. We never came back to the room to find it unserviced. My husband was cold as I have to have the air conditioning on but there was a blanket in the wardrobe - once used housekeeping made it up in his bed which was nice. Pillows were very uncomfortable so we requested extra pillows at 1€ each per night! Just buy some new pillows! You have to pay 40€ for the safe, unless like us you are a returning guest! (Also as a returning guest you can get 15% off your final drinks bill but we weren’t told this - a friend told me). The tv was hit and miss and would turn itself off or lose the signal if you walked past it. The buffet was pretty good; my husband enjoyed the fresh fish every night. Some food was not hot enough and one night I had meat that started warm and one side was distinctly cold - as though it had not been heated thoroughly. This concerned me. My husband had sweetcorn which was still completely frozen. We ate out every third night so we didn’t get bored. We enjoyed the entertainment in the hall, in fact it was one of the reasons we came back. Shame you no longer have the wonderful Elvis tribute. I read someone else really slate the entertainment and was surprised but I guess it shows we all have different expectations. As hotel entertainment goes, even the singers before the main act were mostly good and certainly better than many hotels we’ve stayed in. Bar service out on the patio is frustrating and you often have to go in and find someone. In the hall, once you realise only the one person in a waist coat can take orders you learn to grab their attention and service is better. We enjoy Los Christianos and walked to Playa de las Americas for more shops and restaurants. All in all another enjoyable holiday. We may well be back. (Pictures of room, view from balcony, UP sunbeds and UP lunch)
Fourth visit to this lovely hotel. Unfortunately this time our visit was not the best due to me twisting my foot while out walking on the third day of our holiday which resulted in a fractured foot. I spent the rest of our holiday in a cast having to use a wheelchair and crutches. The staff at the Arona were very kind and helpful giving us extra pillows, shower seat etc straight away. We were also helped in arranging wheelchair hire by Anthony at guest services. The hotel is lovely and the food was excellent as always. When dining at breakfast and dinner the manager Arsenio was always helpful in finding us a suitable table for me to use. Pool and public areas well kept and clean. Our room was a sea view and the lovely sunsets on there cheered me up. One small gripe is the continual reserving of sunbeds by 7am by some guests almost everyday. A big thank you to everyone who helped during our stay and hope to return for a better holiday soon.
Just returned from a ten night stay at the Arona Gran hotel. I have to say this is a fantastic hotel. Greeted with a drink on arrival by very friendly reception staff, room allocated was great, says side sea views but was really full sea view. So many positives about the place, I will start with the staff, all really friendly, and very helpful with any requests. Always had a smile. The hotel itself has 3 fantastic pools, the small one been a jacuzzi type one with water massage jets - very nice! Great selection of exercise classes to do and activities during the day, from Pilates to spin classes and a daily aqua gym class The hotel even throws in some daytime entertainment too, with acrobatic shows at the side of the pool. The gala day and night was great, management presentations and then free bubbly by the pool, then at night the gala dinner was something special with a a violinist playing while you ate your food. On the food the buffet was fantastic each night, a very wide selection of meals available. Pianist playing every night from 1800 to 2000 was a lovely touch. Hotel is very well laid out and make it easy for guests to get around. Loved our stay and will defo be returning. If you feel fit take a walk up the hill at the back too. Some amazing views over the bay.
Having had many visits over the years we still enjoyed a pleasant stay. Some of the entertainment was excellent most of the staff very kind and cheerful one or two need to improve there hospitality skills.
We witnessed too many people taking early sunbeds. It seemed as though some were allowed to get away to reserve early, others had there things baged how was this allowed.
We booked this hotel at very short notice after a planned trip was cancelled. What a terrific stay with excellent facilities exceptional buffet food , heated pools in a seafront location with direct access to the seafront promenade. The nearest beach is a short walk away at Los Cristianos close to the ferry terminal. Markets and restaurants are a very short stroll but the quality, variety and presentation of the breakfast and supper buffets could not be faulted. Every Wednesday there is a ‘Gala Night’ included for half board guests but otherwise available for an additional fee which includes excellent seafood, a glass of Cava and an even better spread. At each service the huge choice includes meat/ fish cooked freshly, a huge selection of hot and cold food with all the trimming, and an excellent wine list at all price points. Your remaining bottled wine can be labelled and reserved by the very efficient waiting staff. Nightly entertainment was excellent during our stay. Very comfortable air conditioned rooms with balcony and fridges (for your own purchases or the hotel ‘drinks packages’ ) are refreshed daily by friendly staff. We found nothing to be too much trouble and excellent service from multilingual staff. There is a very good lunch / drinks service at the pool bar and restaurant which also offers seafood specialities during the afternoons and early evenings. If you enjoy space, light, service, comfort and good food this hotel is highly recommended for couples. It is for adults only.
Had a lovely week at the arona gran. Hotel is amazing clean rooms lovely. pools warm. The only thing I could say is the restaurant food is lovely the only trouble was finding somewhere to sit to eat our evening meal everywhere we tried to sit in the evening we was told no thats a breakfast table! You cant sit there walking round trying to find somewhere alot of the tables are sitting so close to other people which were enjoying there meal as a couple. I found the staff a little abrupt. Shout out to Jessica who was lovely and polite. Other than that an amazing hotel thankyou
Excellent location at quieter end of Los Christianos strip. Adult only as was my preference. Supermarket nearby, and restaurants within short walk. Nice double poola and bar areas. Nice hanging gardens theme around hotel. Excellent wide range of buffet breakfast and dinner. Surprised me with a message and drinks on my birthday!
Having to pay for room safe, usually standard free. Pools opening (later) and closing (earlier) times than other hotels stayed and considering it's adult only.
Hotel was large, big spectacular open spaces, good facilities and absolutely immaculate. Staff were all great, they all seemed to work very hard and efficiently. Would highly recommend. We had the UP experience. Pros of this - The UP terrace on the roof is lovely and quiet, plenty of beds and superior towels. Two infinity pools. Included are free premium drinks (including champagne) and food available all day between 10am and 6pm. The free Spa and massage, and one use of the a la carte restaurant Jarea, was excellent. The UP experience bedrooms are on the higher floors of the hotel with excellent views and they have a Nespresso coffee machine. Cons - it can be a bit windy on the roof so be prepared. We did a price comparison between including the UP experience, versus paying for the spa/massage, Jarea restaurant, and drinks as you 'go along' (based on about 4 drinks during the day), and we reckon it works out about the same One HUGE bonus is that the UP experience benefits are valid until you actually leave the hotel, so if your flight isn't until the evening, you still benefit from the UP even after checking out at 12 noon. The restaurant food is good with plenty of choice. Gala evening on a Wednesday is extra special. We didn't arrive at the hotel until 9.30pm, but they sent salads and fruit up to our room shortly after our arrival. The shows are mixed. Some artists better than others, but nevertheless enjoyable. The Los Cristianos market is right next door to the hotel on a Tuesday and Sunday and there is a supermarket opposite the hotel. The hotel offers activities such as aqua arobics, gym, petang, darts etc, should you want to join in. You never have to wait for a lift! If you want a relaxing pampering holiday with comfortable facilities, good food and drink, then this is the hotel for you. The UP experience is worth it. This trip was for our Golden Wedding Anniversary, and it didn't disappoint.
Lovely hotel, very clean. Pool towels a bit grubby and the aerobics class was far too loud. Staff didn’t smile and had poor English. Breakfast was fabulous but needed to be covered because of the flies. The day before we left, a couple in front of us by the pool, spoilt our whole afternoon. The man decided to wear a mankini and parade around the pool and seating area, swearing and making lewd remarks. In fact a lady who was quietly reading was inappropriately approached by him. He kept asking his wife to touch his bottom. When he did wear shorts he refused to pull them up at the back. He kept touching his genitalia. This hotel didn’t deserve this behaviour. However, twice I went to complain to reception staff. They refused to go and check what was happening. They said they would inform the manager. No one went to check on him. A receptionist asked us when we were leaving if we had enjoyed ourselves…I told her about the previous day, she just said ‘oh really’. Not good enough
Hotel was super as was the gym/animation team…Gloria, Virginia and Miguel. The weather was a major disappointment (1 morning of sunshine, mainly showers and cloudy). The gym classes were a saviour. Thank you.
Stayed here for a week with my husband and 2 adult children. Check in was quick and the lady on reception was helpful with all info we needed. We had beautiful sea view rooms, didn’t upgrade to UP as the price was ridiculous for what you actually get. The hotel is very clean and the rooms were immaculate. Food was very good, with plenty of choice at both breakfast and evening meal. Only issue with restaurant is how cramped the chairs/tables are, not helped by other guests being rude and not willing to move chairs slightly to let you through. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, just not enough of them to do everything they need to do. Definitely need more bar staff at night, only one person taking orders and then the others are running round trying to find where the drinks are going to. This meant you could be waiting without a drink for quite a long time. The evening entertainment was dreadful, non of them could actually sing in tune at all. We chose to sit in the main bar area, but could unfortunately still hear them wailing away. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would return. Would just make sure to go out at night for some better entertainment.
We have had dinner here tonight ( non residents) it’s gala evening and we try to eat here at least twice in our annual stay. The Maitre d and his staff are so welcoming and professional and we are greeted in a very warm way, that’s why we return.
This is a wonderful hotel with the best staff but a very special shout out to Virginia in the animation team who is very talented and professional always ready to help you have a great time . Everything from the food to the pools to the very comfortable rooms make this a very special holiday experience.
We’ve visited this hotel on many occasions at it suits our needs. A relaxing holiday with helpful staff . On the animation team Virginia is amazing. She works extremely hard all day and evening encouraging people to join in the activities. She makes everyone feel very welcome and relaxed. We will definitely visit again.
We have just returned from another lovely stay at Arona Gran. Usual warm welcome at Reception with a much needed drink after journey. Our room was on floor 6 with a lovely view from over the harbour all around to the mountains. Always a good friendly greeting at the Restaurant with a good selection of food. We can then enjoy a drink and entertainment in the lounge area. Always get a friendly greeting from Soto in the bar. Plenty of sunbeds and opportunities to have fun in the pool for Aqua exercise with Gloria and Virginia. For those more energetic plenty going on in the Gym. Looking forward to visit 13 later in the year.
I loved visiting the hotel the staff are so friendly and helpful. Great entertainment with terrific facilties for shopping. On the promenade, so disabled friendly. However it's the fantastic activities team that makes all the difference to the enjoyment of the hotel and special thanks to Virginia and Miguel, you are great and made everything fun. Look forward to staying again at the hotel when I visit Tenerife.
Visited Early November as a couple. I’ve got family who have recommended this hotel for such a long time so thought we should give it a go. So to summarise : Polite and easy check in with a welcome fizz. Impressive lobby area. We booked a Seaview room but was given a room on 4th floor on the corner that comprised of entrance hall ,bedroom , bathroom with walk in shower lounge area with sofa bed and three balconies! The room itself was fine , maybe a little dated and small accumulations of ants kept appearing over the week. That’s the real only small negative as the rest of the hotel was perfect. We ate in 3 nights and one of those nights was gala night. Food was always plentiful and decent quality. Pool area is excellent as is the pool bar/diner. Evening entertainment is average and as it was November it was inside. But you could still enjoy a beverage outside in which was nice. Breakfast had great choice and quality but gets busy about 8.45 onwards . I’ve heard that changes are on the horizon with the hotel so will be excited to see what . Didn’t do UP experience as we like to get about and didn’t think we would fully benefit due to the cost of upgrade. Hotel is mainly over 50,s but we did see some younger guests . As for the location: Situated at the far end of Los Cristianos right on the front. Short walk to centre of LC. Go a bit further and you reach Playa de las Americas. The Royal mile is quite vibrant at night. Go a bit further you then reach Veronica’s area but best for under 25’s really. We enjoyed the hotel and the mixed bag of LC and Americas. If you’re about to book only tip I’d give is go Seaview room but if the balcony view is not important then you won’t go wrong either way. Go Half board even if you only do 3 nights a week as food is great.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd holiday at Arona Gran. It suits me very well as I have mobility problems and walking is all on the level. The food is very good with a variety of dishes changing every night. Gala dinner every Wednesday is a highlight with music while you dine. Cleaning was efficient. One or two small repairs needed to be fixed and they were done at once by maintenance, The shows are good especially the Queen Project act on Wednesday night. A special mention to Arsenio and Esperanza in the restaurant for their attention and help. All staff are lovely. An added bonus was a reduction of 15% from our bill as we were repeat customers. We will be back soon.
The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. Great quality, well cooked and great variety. The fitness classes were excellent. Great gym and pools. Terrific staff.
exllent hotel staff very friendly
Excellent hotel. Many thanks to Virgina and Miguel for their energy and enthusiasm in arranging the activities. Also, thanks to Clemen and Beatriz in the restaurant for their warm and friendly manner.
К сожалению спустя 2 года пребывания здесь, все сильно ухудшилось. От рецепции с выцветшими диванами до номеров. Мы делали возврат. Тк оставаться в таком отеле не было желания!
Everyone was very friendly and helpful
Nothing
Lovely relaxing stay. Wonderful heated pool and aqua activities. Robe and slippers in my room, felt like I was staying in a luxury spa hotel, spa amenities available if you wanted to use those. Nice and quiet at the far end of Los Cristianos but easily accessible to shops, bars, restaurants in the area.
Lovely hotel which I had visited several years ago set on the far end of the promenade , away from the hustle and bustle which is just how I like it with everything accessible if you wanted. Great room which overlooked the pool and the sea, weather atrocious however the hotel extremely comfortable with sports in bar area in day and a quiet reading room where you could play games if wanted. Food in hotel was very good with lots of choice and in the majority very helpful waiting staff. I would recommend and a place where if I was travelling alone I would feel very comfortable.
The first time saying at this hotel very nice amazing food staff very friendly room was lovely the sun was on it at early evening room number 451 4 floor the hotel was very inviting when you first go into reception big open space when meeting people they were saying they be coming for years to the hotel I can see my
Great hotel excellent service and food
Beautiful plants and lovely decor. Clean and friendly staff. Best food I’ve seen in a hotel. Like 5 star. Very relaxing hotel
A lovely week of relaxation. A bonus to get a room upgrade. Loved having a robe and slippers in my room. Pool areas just wonderful and enjoyed all the facilities on offer.
We have stayed at Arona Gran many times over the last few years and always enjoyed the whole experience. The ‘free’ transfer from airport to hotel should not be relied on. This year they have changed their supplier of this service. Our flight was delayed by about two hours and when we got to the booth at the airport, we were told , by a very miserable man that we had missed our slot! We were given no help and had to to find and then get in the long taxi queue. We obviously had to pay for the taxi. When it was reported to the hotel reception there was basically no response. I have subsequently sent several emails to Arona Gran regarding this but have not even had the courtesy of a reply. It is NOT about the cost of the taxi but really just advising them that the new taxi service is not good. Also, response to my many emails would be nice!! Apart from this the hotel, as always, was great
Had a good stay once again, Booked a week in the up experience and that suited us perfectly. Premium drinks and quality food from 10am till 6pm perfect. It’s very chilled and relaxing up on the roof and you get the sun all day when it pops over the mountain. The room was ok if a little tired, for the premium price I would expect the rooms to be a little more upgraded. The only difference between the up rooms and standard rooms are a coffee machine and a good sea view, that’s it. Also if any management are reading this you really need some insulation between the party walls as you can hear everything from the other rooms incredibly clear. Unfortunately we had the world coughing champion next to us who liked to get up at 06.30 every morning and start. The hotel would not have any insulation when built so it would be nice to have soundproofing sorted out. The transfer service that the hotel uses now is awful. You used to get a taxi transfer which was perfect now it’s a shared minibus from a company called sierra y Gonzales and they are awful. On both transfers our names were not on the list and the people running sierra y Gonzales are rude unhelpful and arrogant, a small bloke with an attitude and chip on his shoulder telling us your not on the list your not getting on the bus even though it’s half empty. When we missed the bus back to Tfs because we wasn’t on the list the reception guy was as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike, didn’t want to know. Not the sort of problem solving I expect from this hotel. Apart from that inconvenience it’s a great hotel with a brilliant buffet breakfast and dinner. Evening entertainment was good with a good variety of different acts. If you want to see something different Rod Stewart & Elvis are on at Charley’s bar on the roundabout. Enjoy
The hotel is in a nice location on the sea front. Lovely bedrooms with everything you would need. A great choice of options at breakfast. The pool area and interior of the hotel are very well kept. It has a very well appointed gym looking over the seafront. The Staff were super helpful and friendly and I really enjoyed my stay
Nothing
We have just returned from two weeks on our 4th visit to the UP Roof Terrace and loved our holiday. We book direct with hotel on their excellent website. You pay on arrival and easy cancellation if required. Early bookings for spring card holders get a decent discount. The hotel will book your flights but we prefer to arrange our own on an airline we prefer. Adult only hotel. Stephanie actually was so nice at checking in , which has not always been the experience at reception on past visits! The UP option is definitely expensive but it totally suits our needs and worth it in our opinion. We are avid readers and so appreciate the quiet relaxed space with guaranteed sun loungers. We have zero interest in all the many activities on offer at the main pool areas downstairs. So if you enjoy that maybe UP not for you ? The terrace can be draughty if windy as you are on roof , ,so have a fleece handy. Terrace does not open till 10am but again perfect for us. Keen walkers and able to walk a few miles after breakfast. Super UP team to look after you. This year Anthony and Laura with Steffi saying hello to the guests. You have complimentary branded drinks and nice nibbles available all day. We thought the range and quality improved this year. If you stay 7 days or more a complimentary dinner at Jarea restaurant on Tuesday or Friday evening. Lovely tasting menu. Our UP room was perfect with everything provided. Comfortable but pillows were dire! Maybe hotel should take note. Supposed to be pillow menu but no sign in our room. Wonderful walk-in shower and bathroom. Super shower gel and creams. The room was beautifully serviced every day and kept spotless as was the whole hotel. WiFi was excellent this year after past issues. Actually should be as this is essential given 2026! Breakfasts are excellent and start at 7.30. Huge selection. Not sure why door to outside area was jammed open given another automatic entrance. We had to shut as very cool draught as no way we were sitting frozen! Dinner llwas definitely an improvement! We actually had some hot dishes and the carvery had excellent quality meat. There is fish and meat grill too. Huge hotel so can crazy busy but we hang back and go down later. Nice cheese selection as were the dessert options. We had the extra efficient Clem looking after us and was our preferred area to sit at dinner. So friendly and bright and does make such a difference! Evening entertainment was on the whole fun with one or two not to our taste. The best were the ones who encouraged people to dance and we met some lovely fun guests. So a huge thank you to all at Arona Gran for a wonderful holiday. We intend to see you all in 2027 !
Clean; fresh and lovely decorated
The breakfast was luke warm

Lovely, stylish adults only hotel. Friendly staff and great pools. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and enjoyed going out to different restaurants for dinner. We had room 627, it was spacious and spotless with a very comfortable bed, the only downside was the lack of sun on the balcony at any time. So if you want sunshine check with the hotel and if you travel with Jet 2 DON’T book a “pool and side sea view” room.
We have stayed at this hotel several times (and also sister hotels Bitacora and Vulcano) and always enjoy our stay. The staff are mostly very welcoming and have been there years, which is always a good sign. The food is good for such a large hotel, but I feel it can be a bit repetative and (maybe at this time of year) no alternative restaurant open in the evening. The restaurant staff are very good and clear used cutlery etc quckly and equally serve and save your bottle of wine with the evening meal. The bar staff are good except for the bar near the stage and sports bar .We found they were often slow to serve or forgot the order, but of course it was the end of a busy day for them. My husband was disappointed not to be able to order an evening cafe latte though. The cleanliness is good though my bed was not properly made at one point (I had to remake it). To be honest I was a bit disappointed with our room.Having booked directly through the hotel I hoped we might get a better room but this was smaller than usual, on the corner with NO SUN at all throughout the day and evening which made it too cold to sit out on though the views were very good, and it seemed a bit "tired" could do with a refurbish..When we have travelled with Jet2 we are ALWAYS allocated a room on the sunless side but usually bigger than this one. I didn't bother asking about a room with a bit of sun as the hotel was full. One minor niggle was when someone stole my towel!.I We had literally left the sunbed to go 20 yards away for an afternoon coffee and were away 25 minutes max to find someone had removed MY towel (not my husbands).I explained this to the pool staff but he snatched a note from my hand and implied I would be charged for the "extra" towel.I spoke to recepcion and was rebuked for it (my responsibility etc)., however they didn't charge for it. This may sound very critical , but it was just my experience this time and would not put me off staying at this well run and attractive hotel.
The hotel is very welcoming, staff are all excellent, hotel was clean and well cared for. We stayed in the UP level which was well worth it and very comfortable.
It was our first time at the Arona Gran Hotel On Tenerife. On entering the Hotel foyer, this was the real wow factor, We have ever encountered. The reception staff made us very welcome. Everything was explained to us about the facilities, which where magnificent. The room was clean, plenty of room to move around, good wardrobe and cupboard space, even robe and slippers. The food was plentiful and definitely too much choice. The pool area was comfortable and one pool had warm water, also there was a Jacuzzi near by. There were aerobic sessions in the pool, some sessions were took by Miguel who was very enthusiastic, and entertaining. All the staff from the room cleaner, catering staff, reception, and pool life guard were all very pleasant. Would recommend all of the above. Enjoyed the area and surroundings, would come again.
The breakfast was out of this world, fantastic!! It exceeded my expectations.
Good location close to the sea. Quiet area. Grocery store very close. We were happy with the room. Very friendly staff. Tasty breakfast and dinner with good ingredients and good selection. Exceptionally good opportunities for activities at the hotel. There are three heated swimming pools and water training with an instructor every day. One pool is extra warm and has several types of water massage. There is a very well-equipped gym with the option of group training with an instructor every day. There is also entertainment in the evenings.
Beautiful hotel.run by well trained and motivated staff. A child free hotel which seems to be enjoyed mostly by the over 40s . On a level prom it’s a short walk into Los Cris which still retains its old Canaries charm with plenty of shops and bars near by. Rooms are spotless clean and very comfortable…with all the amenities you expect. We like a side sea view room which benefits from sun all day in February. Some pool view rooms will get shade in winter..so check if this is an issue. Food in the dining room is ample and varied . Even a range of honey at breakfast. Clean white table cloths on each table and freshly laundered napkins too. A beautiful room with views across to the harbour. Evening entertainment starts with a piano performance..followed by a singer and later a tribute act. There is a sports bar for the sports fans. The hotel is so popular it has a fans Facebook page.. Just book it you won’t be disappointed.
We have just returned from a 10 day break at this hotel. We regularly visit Tenerife but have not been to the hotel or area since 2019. Had a fantastic peaceful chilled out break. Everything was impeccable from the service in the bars & restaurants to the pools & activities. We upgraded to the Up package & although this was expensive in our opinion it was worth every penny. Because our visit was in winter the rooftop terrace gave us full days of sunshine while the main pool was often shaded for parts of the day. Comfortable sunbeds & the daily food /drink options were varied & plentiful. Our room was on the 5th floor but super fast lifts meant you never waited more than a few seconds for a one. What we saw of the entertainment was decent but wasn’t too keen on the venue. It was basically in a basement room with large pillars which often restricted your view of the acts. The atmosphere was a bit staid. We preferred to go out & visit some of the many walkable bars & sample some of the acts there. Couple of small points which didn’t impact on our holiday but could be improved on. The pillows were awful… so flat & need replaced. Also we have never stayed in a 4 star hotel that does not offer a porter service. This wasn’t a huge issue for us as we are able bodied but many guests were elderly & infirm. That being said although we don’t normally return to hotels as we prefer to visit different places we wouldn’t hesitate to come back if we were looking for a peaceful break.
This was our 3rd visit to this superb hotel which is ideally located in this resort and we got off to a good start by being allocated a room on the 5th floor in a location we like. The standard of our room was of a high standard as expected, topped off by being comfortable and spotless. Our room lady Sandra ensured that our room stayed this way throughout our 16 night holiday. Enjoying sunshine throughout the day with lovely views in a most enjoyable ambiance, ensures you have the basis of a good holiday. Both the interior and exterior gardens/pool areas have a nice feeling to them and are kept really clean The restaurant served a wide range of quality food both at breakfast and dinner which was just one of the reasons why you see so many repeat guests. Favoured dishes which were selected by dining gusts were frequently refilled by staff to ensure no one lost out. Gala Night on Wednesdays is always extra outstanding and the lady violinist who plays throughout and the free glass of Cava makes it just that bit extra special. Arsenis the Floor Manager ensures things go smoothly and the standard of the restaurant staff is very good. We were fortunate to have the services of Juarno and Christina on a regular basis who ensured an efficient and friendly service. Entertainment in the bar during the evening we found this year was a bit hit & miss. Acts like Elton John, the Queen Project, Barry White, The Bee Gees, Arthur Petersen and Soul & Motown were in our opinion the outstanding performers of our holiday but on some evenings the supporting acts were better than some of the other main performers. The pianists playing in The Lobby each evening were always good to listen and relax to. Due to an unfortunate accident by the pool on my second day I was unable to use the pool or gym facilities which I always enjoy. I must however mention Joyo the pool lifeguard who gave me first class medical assistance at the time. I must conclude by saying that the professional way in which Vicky The Reception Manager dealt with my incident was appreciated by both my wife and I . We hope to return in 2027 for another enjoyable holiday in a hotel we really like.
We had made an error on our booking with Booking.com and Stephanie on reception was wonderful and sorted it all out for us.
We booked half board and wanted to to have lunch instead of dinner which was not possible. There were no shower caps or tissues in the room.
Our second time here and loved it. We asked for a particular room area and we were not let down. The staff are brilliant. The food is excellent, so much choice. We would highly recommend this hotel. Once Tenerife airport have the problems sorted we would like to come back. This year was a nightmare arrival and departure. Nothing you can do about that. Wonderful hotel. Thank you.
This hotel is marvellous - really recommend it. The rooms are really nice, and cleaned with care every day, and the breakfast is out of this world - we have never seen such variety of things to choose between, and with a beautiful view out over the sea. The 3 pools and the poolside area are beautiful, the Jacuzzi is great, and two of the three pools are heated. The attention to detail and cleanliness around the hotel property is outstanding. There are activities organized around the hotel every day, including entertainment every night, including a pianist playing at the piano bar most evenings. The clientelle are typically a little older, and this is probably not a place you would bring children, but for a family with elder teenagers and young adults it would be great, as well as for couples. Ping-pong table, biljards table, games room etc are all available to play.
This is a fantastic holiday hotel in a great location and its adults only. The buffet selection both at breakfast and dinner is superb, we love the restaurant and the use of proper tablecloths etc which makes it a little bit more special. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are well appointed. The staff really make this hotel, they are all without exception helpful and pleasant and immaculately dressed and the meet the staff/management sessions round the pool were a fantastic idea and clearly indicate that the management are willing to listen and meet the guests. This was our second visit after almost 30 years of visiting the Vulcano (sister hotel and long time guests will understand why we no longer visit) and we cannot wait to return.
Our one week holiday at Arona Grand was a great experience. The wide range of delicious food on offer made meal times a pleasure; we were spoilt for choice . The hotel’s restaurant staff also impressed us . Despite the high numbers of guests Esperanza was dealing with, she astonished us by remembering the range of drinks my family prefer with our evening meals. Alexis served us in both the pool side restaurants and then again during the later evening shows, but he never failed to be welcoming and ensured we had the correct drinks, too. The hotels’ pools were lovely, with no problem getting sunbeds in shaded locations . I loved the daily Aqua Fitness sessions, even though I am not usually a fan of exercise . The poolside jacuzzi with massage jets was pure bliss afterwards, too. Another enjoyable surprise was the entertainment on offer in the evenings. I am a huge fan of Queen and Tina Turner, so seeing two decent tribute acts at the hotel during our holiday stay made evenings a genuine pleasure . On a final note, the hotel’s location is perfect. The hotel is at the furthest end of Los Cristianos town, so the promenade next to the hotel is much quieter. There are far less street vendors there trying to sell goods, and a pleasant walk from there gave us access to all the town’s amenities. My only tiny criticism of the hotel is the room’s refillable soap and shower gel bottles. They are a great eco-friendly idea, but bottles need to be checked during every cleaner’s visit, as our almost empty bottles were not automatically refilled when the room was cleaned.
We had a very enjoyable ten day stay at the Arona Gran in February 2026. Our room was on the first floor (Room 167) which was on the same level as reception. This was so convenient as it meant we never needed to use a lift and it was so quick to pop back to the room from the pool when we needed to. Check in on arrival was really fast but I had already downloaded the Spring Hotels app and checked in online beforehand. The room was spacious and clean and had a beautiful view of the pools and the sea. Bathrobes and slippers were provided and good towels, toiletries, magnifying mirror and hairdryer. The fridge was big enough for tall bottles and kept our drinks and snacks really cold. We didn't use the safe as there is an additional 3 Euro charge per day. I do think a safe should be included in the cost of a hotel room. The balcony had an awning which, at this time of year, didn't give any shade as the sun was too low, however I'm not complaining about the heat! It was a wonderful temperature, between 23 and 26 degrees every day. Our only complaint about the room was the terrible pillows. They were old, flat, hard and uncomfortable and despite changing them and asking for more, they were all the same. You can order a pillow from a menu for an extra fee but again, surely a decent pillow should be included in the cost of the room. The staff work hard keeping the whole of the hotel and outside areas spotless. It was one of our best holiday poolside experiences - very comfortable sun beds, no loud music and no smoking allowed (except in designated areas away from others). This made such a difference to us, especially as no smoking is allowed anywhere in the hotel except in the 3 designated areas - so no smoking on balconies and polluting other people's rooms and space which has ruined holidays for us in the past. Regarding noise. We had absolutely no noise at all from neighboring rooms however The Roca Blanca Beach Club is right next door and on one day of our holiday they held a big birthday party with a shouting DJ, extremely loud music and lots of screaming, very drunk people. We couldn’t enjoy sitting by the pool or on our balcony that day. The noise level was unacceptable and we were surprised the hotel hadn’t complained. However we did find out that a hotel guest complained directly to the Roca Blanca bar manager and miraculously the sound was turned down immediately. Apparently the speakers had been facing the Arona Gran so they had moved them and turned the music down. This really should have been the job of the hotel manager and not the guests to make the complaint. This bar doesn’t hold these types of parties every day but they do have regular party bookings so it might be worth checking what they’ve got on before you book this hotel if this sort of noise bothers you. There are three pools. A small, very warm one with water jets and jacuzzi, a large heated one and a large unheated one. The aquafit, aqua-yoga and aqua-gym all take place in the large heated pool every day and was great fun. The unheated pool was perfect for the really hot days. There’s also a gym and table tennis. Pool towels are available at the pool and you can have a fresh one every day. There is a beauty spa but we didn’t use it so can’t comment. You can upgrade to UP! which gives you access to the roof top pool but we were more than happy with the main pools. We were half board so had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The breakfasts were amazing with absolutely everything you would expect, including porridge, cereals, fresh fruit, dried fruits, cheeses, breads and all the usual cooked options. Lovely freshly squeezed orange juice is available as well as cava, lots of types of teas and good coffee from the smaller machines. Avoid the larger machine for the coffee pots, this was watery and didn't taste of anything. The evening meals were equally as good with just far too much to choose from. The salad selection was amazing and we frequently had freshly cooked prawns, fish, steak and lamb. There’s an extensive wine list (the house wine is about 15 Euros) and you have to pay 3 Euros for a large bottle of water. It’s a good idea to take your own water bottle as the hotel provides free filtered water in coolers around the hotel which is a great environmental initiative, but you can’t take this water into the dining room. Directly opposite the main entrance to the hotel is a HyperDino supermarket. The back of the hotel faces onto the promenade and the sea. You can walk along the promenade from the hotel into Los Christianos and Playa de las Americas and if you keep going you’ll reach Costa Adeje. The nice thing about Arona Gran is it’s situated away from all the madness of Playa de las Americas and is right at the far end of Los Christianos, so it’s nice and quiet. Another reason we were bemused they’d opened the beach bar next door - it’s really in the wrong place and can’t get much passing trade. We took a trip to Mount Teide national park and went up in the cable car. We also took the public bus to La Laguna which really is a beautiful place and worth a visit. All in all we were extremely happy with our holiday and would definitely return.
This is not our first time staying at the Arona Gran will it most definitely not be our last! As former property owners just up the road in Parque Tropical for 20+ years when we sold and decided to come back each year this hotel was our first choice! Yes you may pay a little more but you get what you pay for! The staff, location and food just make this hotel perfect if you’re looking for a chilled out and first class experience. We had (and had previously) a side sea view and this was on purpose as the sun rose and fell on the 2nd floor (room 207 which I had requested again). Check in, breakfast (Esperanza), dinner (Rueben) are delightful. The rooms are comfortable and clean (possibly could do with a bit of an upgrade - sorry guys). Although the ambiance is beautiful I do think the check in is limited to make it look pretty but just does not work. Each time as only 2 full and 2 half desks it took too long although we had completed online check in it didn’t appear to work. Also although we arrived at 3.00pm we were told our room was not ready but c’est la vie an excuse to go over the road neck a couple of beers and come back, although they did message to say it was then ready but the beer was calling!!!!! All the moaning folks just carry on - too many old people, too much choice for food - just get a life! We’re not old (ok maybe a little bit) but the Arona Gran is wonderful. Thank you guys, we’ll be back soon.
I booked a room with a sea view, what I got was a room with half a sea view and a balcony/terrace that was permanently in shade. The room itself was fine but its location within hotel complex was poor. Having said that the room was always very clean and well appointed. The staff and the service were both excellent and the food first class. The location of the hotel was perfect being away from the bustle of the main shopping area but being within easy walking distance. In my view the travel agents need to be more specific regarding the position of the rooms. I would gladly have paid a premium to secure a room with a better outlook and one with more light availability.
