Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The room was very spacious. It was wonderful to have large windows and a view of the trees.
The breakfast was pretty chaotic. Just too many people and the staff had a hard time keeping up with all the depletions. Some of the guests let their kids run wild in the hall in the evenings. Hard to sleep with the noise.
Where it was located.
Water in room was way to expensive. AC was very loud when it turned on.

Breakfast
Wonderful stay. Pleasant and friendly staff. The pool was refreshing. Quiet and comfortable room.
The breakfast was the traditional continental and was helpful to grab on the go. My family prefers a more robust breakfast and ended up only grabbing some fruit and Granola bars to get is through the day, but went out to eat breakfast at one of the pancake houses nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful in our reservations.
Overall, the stay was pleasant. The only complaint would be the pull out mattress was very flat and even broken at the end. My daughter sat down and fell through the springs. The mattress in the king suite was hard and the pillows soft which made it like laying on a flat board. Seeing how we were only there to sleep, we made due and it was fine. For the price, I guess I expected a more "plush" feel to the rooms? Personal preference and mattress comfort is subjective, what was hard for me may be luxurious to someone else.
Spacious room with a nice bathroom, clean and the hotel is kids friendly which we truely appreciated.
The wallpaper in each wall of the room is a bit too much. The splash park needs an upgrade as it doesn’t look at all like the pictures. Few coats of paint will refresh the area.
Location is great, just right next to the visitor center and bus stop that takes you to the Williamsburg Town.
Estaba cerca de la zona que íbamos a visitar
Que no nos habían puesto la cuna de viaje, tal y como pedimos.
Room was quiet and clean and large
Breakfast was awful. Frozen milk, no hot water, no meat, stale breads, not enough places to sit, surly staff
Loved the property!! Great for families with children!
Good location and amenities, the room was very comfortable. Overall good stay.
The common areas would use some updating.
Quite a bit to do for kids
Some parts of the property are run down
Area
We were charged hidden fees that booking doesn't tell you. Its 32.50 a day you pay for accidental, you get that back in 10 days. They run your card 1 night at time. Charging more fees. You may get a deal through booking at the time but the bottom line is. It's the same price if you just do it through the hotel itself.
Everything
There wasn't anything I didn't like
Posizione piacevole immersa nel verde
Pochissima scelta per la colazione salata
Clean and homely.
Lights in the parking lot.
Location
Not having an area for coffee, drink or snack after return
Location, price, people. The windows can be opened somewhat, which is nice
The room was very clean and the maids cleaned it well every day, but it still smelled like dog
It is in a wonderful location, ideal for families. It is right next to the visitor center, where you can get all the information you need to explore the historic city. The hotel staff is extremely kind and helpful. The best accommodation so far during our entire trip to the east coast. I can only recommend it to everyone.
Fantastic place to stay for historical Colonial Williamsburg. Staff was amazing and very helpful with finding activities.
Honestly it was a great place to stay.
All the included amenities and proximity to the historic district
I didn’t like that it was very hard to reach someone by calling the hotel directly. And they absolutely need to tell those with young kids directly that the splash pad closes at dusk and you must press a button in order to start the water if it’s off.
Breakfast was great

It is too far to walk to find something decent to eat.
Resort features, location and price.
Neighbor room with noisy dog.
Location to Colonial Williamsburg. Literally a short walk.
The breakfast wasn’t to my liking. I think they could have had a little more … I did see any meats all. More foods should be incorporated.
I truly enjoyed my stay there, however, I think the bathroom needs to be up graded!….the bathtub water did not drain well at all it appears to be a back up somewhere. Other than that it was a pleasant stay! Thank you for serving us!
Well maintained.
Noisy HVAC. Lousy breakfast.
I really liked the location; it feels like it's in an area that's easily accessible to everything. I really liked the hotel and the amenities it offers; the rooms were very nice. The pool is large, and the children's area looked quite comfortable.
I felt a bit uncomfortable; the beds seemed a bit hard. As for breakfast, it was good, but I think it lacked a bit more variety.
Great place and very clean
Like everything
Close to family
Very long walk to get to room and very dated.
It was great for families, close to Colonail Williamsburg with a pool, splash pad, and a lot out outdoor games.
There was a nice breakfast but not enough seating! Both mornings I was there I had to hang around waiting for people to leave the breakfast area before I could sit down.
I liked everything and the staff were all amazing.
The pull out sofa bed/mattress was super uncomfortable. You could feel every single bar through the thin springy mattress.
I truly enjoyed the staff I interacted with, The overall room was pleasant altho I would say having the AC unit in the bedroom is def a detractor only bc could not close the door bc if did the kids in living room would not have AC & be hot. Breakfast was amazing TBH. Pool & splash area were both quite nice
I did not care for the putt-putt area in the way of it is posted as being 24 hours and it is!! So no lies were told to that regard. The problem though with this being a 24hr option is that more than half of the lights over the putt-putt course are/were out. Making it near impossible for this activity to be enjoyed after dark. However we did try! Another problem with this IMO is the location of the putt-putt course is in a wooded area. Therefore I had to constantly be alert to ground while moving from hole to hole with limited visibility bc of so many lights being out.
The amenities and location
The air condition in hallway and lobby weren’t working.
The room was very clean and quiet, everything was sufficient. The best part for me was that they had some gluten free breakfast options, with a separate toaster and everything! I have never found this while traveling and it was much appreciated!! The staff was very friendly and helpful when we ran into a little hiccup with our room.
It would have been nice if they had actually had enough bed space in our room before we got there as we were traveling with 2 adults and 3 children and booked a room that claimed to have 2 beds and a sleeper chair. The chair was just a regular chair, but they did get us a rollaway bed when I complained. The only other thing that I wasn't expecting is just how huge this place is... It was a long trek to the front desk and back at 1030 pm when we realized we didnt have enough beds. Plan accordingly and don't leave anything in your car that you might want haha!
Everything was great. Although I do like better sheets.
Proximity to old town Williamsburg
Smelled like mildew
Nette Mitarbeiter, Pool und Freizeitmöglichkeiten, Lage
Das Frühstück, überfüllt und sehr eintönig. Keine Möglichkeit ein Abendessen im Hotel zu bekommen
Location was great.
Beds were horribly hard.
El hotel es muy lindo, en medio del bosque , el lobby es espectacular y genera una sensación de vacaciones muy chevere.
El desayuno es terrible. Mis expectativas era mucho mas altas
Minigolf was great, clean room.
There is no restaurant or bar. Also, the day we were there, the water fountains were not working (we were told that work was being done on the water system) and the water bottle in the room was expensive.
The location is great, the employee on the counter very nice my kids love the mini golf area.
The air conditioner don't work properly.. and the breakfast was terrible very disorganized the area and table was all dirty.
I liked everything especially the convenience of being able to get to colonial Williamsburg
Nothing
The AC in the room wasn't that good
The room was clean but the bathroom lighting was a bit off. If it was centered in the bathroom it would cancel some dark/dim spots. The staff was diverse which was a bonus. The continental breakfast was expected but the coffee was Excellent!! The hotel has a clean working pool, a splash park, golf, and table tennis outdoors all free with your stay.
Being on the 3rd floor was a hike..best to use the stairs and be ready to walk. The laundry facility was on the first floor ONLY and it cost. The fitness room had plenty of free weights but majority of the equipment was inoperable. No microwave in the room so no late night popcorn.
Properly was clean and spacious
No complaints
Very convenient location to Colonial Williamsburg
Elevators are only on one side of property
Great staff, convenient location
It was kind of confusing to navigate the parking lots/main building when arriving at night
Location Facilities Shuttle downtown bus
They were very accommodating & helped save our vacation due to other hotel issues.
Only suggestion would be to update the mattresses and extra lighting in shower area.
Everything!
It was peaceful.
The breakfast was terrible.
Basic breakfast consisted of cereal, yogurt, cinnamon cake, and egg puffs along with bananas. Coffee, tea and juice for beverages.
Close to alot.
Forgot my crib that I requested and was approved for. My toddler walked around the hotel room and the bottom of her feet were dirty.
We had a family reunion at the Woodlands and the amenities and location to attractions are wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, and the grounds and condition of the rooms were excellent. Highly recommend this venue for group or family get togethers.
Прекрасный отель для тех, кто хочет посетить Вильямсбург.
The people an pool
Nothing
Great family property, full of kid friendly ammenities (huge pool, kids water play ground, putt putt golf, ping pong, volleyball, complimentary breakfast, etc). This was our second visit this summer and will definitely visit again. Note: this property does not have a restaurant, but we ordered pizza and ate at a table by the pool. Very highly recommend!!!
outstanding service personnel; great location; excellent price
Locatie dichtbij Williamsburg, zalig zwembad
Ontbijt en gammel zetelbed voor de kinderen
Easy to find, close to everything!
Not very good WiFi service!
The staff was absolutely awesome, very professional and knowledgeable.

Location swimming area Minigolf for free Great discount for enterance at colonial williamsburg
Loved that the pool is open late. Had a good breakfast and the staff is very friendly. Also close to everything.
It’s our second time at the hotel. Very well located for walking with a dog to visit the Colonial Village.
It would be great to have more gluten-free options for breakfast.
Friendly, clean, perfect location.
Location and work staff
Location, pool
AC needed to be stronger. TVs need to be upgraded
Splash pad
The pool. The walking distance. The fact no one was anywhere to help except the front desk. Which was a mile away. The fact that my youngest left, with what looks like bedbug or flea bites, which she didn’t have upon arrival, is disgustingl.
The breakfast could be improved by decreasing bread and cereal choices and offering eggs, meats and berries.
Hallways were warm but guest rooms were nicely cooled. Machines in the fitness center were out of order.
Hotel was overbooked and there was a significant delay (over 3 hours) for our room. No one suggested that we dine, workout or swim in the meantime . Dinner plans lost since we were late and we had to shift evening ghost tour. Management made no effort to take any accountability or offer any adjustment. I had to nudge them and got a can of seltzer. Previous guests shampoo and shower gel were on bath ledge.
It was convenient to the visitor center and bus transportation to the revolutionary city. The staff was great as always.
The place needs some renovations. I have been staying there for years, and it definitely has gone down hill. Breakfast was mostly carbohydrates, very little protein. I ended up going to the restaurant at the Lodge and paying for breakfast. I had to ask for a different room because mine smelled like dogs. The second room smelled as bad; however, the odor was not as pungent. When I saw all the people going in an out of their rooms with dogs, I realized I was put in the section where people with dogs stayed. Not happy about that. Fortunately, my stay was only 2 nights.
Loved the setting, breakfast and pool.
I think the staff could more fully explain the system for visiting the historical area. We ended up having to buy additional tickets because of the two day limit or whatever it was.
Location was wonderful and we could easily access the visitor center and the shuttle. The atmosphere was family friendly and the staff was receptive and helpful. Very beautiful and peaceful. Relaxing. Rooms were clean. Shower was great Used the two free tickets to Williamsburg. Great value. Used the pool everyday. Plenty of room in pool. Lots of towels. Ice machine was broken on our floor. Put put golf was fun but the course could use some maintenance. Breakfast was extremely busy on the weekend and staff did not refill to satisfy everyone. Churros were bland and stale. Not a lot of options for breakfast. No problem with noise. Great work out area. Parking was hard to find when we came in on a Friday night, but there was several spots available as the days went on. This has been one of our favorite hotels. Would definitely come back
Thw size and kid friendly pool.
No microwave in room and having to go to breakfast room to use that one. And the breakfast the next morning was nasty and late serving it.
The hotel is very family friendly, affordable, and in a great location for visiting Colonial Williamsburg.
The breakfast area doesn’t have adequate seating to handle the rush, so get there early or be prepared to take your food to go. The sofa bed was not very comfortable for adults, but kids did not mind it.
The location is really great. This was definitely the huge positive to this hotel. We were able to walk a short walk (10 mins) to colonial Williamsburg which was a great surprise. Or there is a shuttle bus to take you there as well. The Williamsburg Visitors Center is also right there so super convenient to buy tickets. Make sure to let them know you are staying at the Woodlands so you get a small discount on tickets. The pool and splash pad were really enjoyed by our kids (ages 5 and 8) the pool was large and very appreciated. The amenities like corn hole and mini golf were huge pluses, we enjoyed both. I loved that they had pool towels are our disposal. The lobby was very nice with a kind of wooden lodge feel. Our room was good as well although definitely showing its age. I was a little disappointed in the kids pull out couch as I certainly wouldn't have wanted to sleep there, but for the kids it was fine. The bed itself was very comfortable. The room had everything we needed. I also liked that you could open the window (albeit not wide at all) because it was actually quite cool outside at night and we enjoyed a break from the AC which is so prominent and strong everywhere. More windows to open and a screen would have been perfect.
We were a bit disappointed in the breakfast. There was only one hot dish which alternated between egg bites some days and mini omelets on other days. Basically everything else was carbs. It would have been nice to have some other hot dishes like sausages, scrambled eggs, as well as some vegetables like tomatoes, potatoes, etc. There were bagels, waffles and bread, (gluten free options as well) to toast. There were hard boiled eggs but they were pre-shelled which puts me off. It was a very generic breakfast and definitely could have been better. Another thing I am very surprised about is that there is no recycling. Nowhere on the whole hotel site could you recycle cans, plastics, cardboard or anything! I grew up in the US but we are living in Europe now and I am just so surprised at the complete lack of recycling in this area of the US. There was so much waste at breakfast with the plastic cutlery and plastic cups. This is a gripe I have about our entire summer stay on the East Coast but I am very surprised hotels are not leading in this department and showing by example how to be more conscientious.
Location was great however cleanliness of the hotel is much to be desired. Also, housekeeping did not clean our room until we called on the third day. Restaurant on the property is not open - closed since COVID.
Accesible y muy cerca de área colonial restaurantes etc
Las camas ( mattress) están un poco viejos
Breakfast was OK but not a lot of variety. The location of the hotel is beautiful, but the lack of restaurants was not so great. Overall, it is a great place for families. Kids would love the pool area.
I do not drive so taking an Uber when you get hungry at night during my stay was not fun and an extra expense. But overall, it was a nice experience.
Location
Mini golf needs major cleanup. Also stood at front desk 10 mins to buy a bag of cookies with cash one person said didn't know how to do cash, other 2 staff on phones, when one got off phone I asked for assistance and he replied, I just punched out.
Property was conveniently located, clean, and staff was wonderful.
N/A
Loved what was afford at the Hotel!!
Eatery was closed
Wonderful atmosphere staff was helpful and very attentive. Being close to all of what williamsburg has to offer was wonderful.
Beds and pillows could have been softer and the room had a stale cigarette smell even tho we were in a non smoking room. Air conditioning was only felt in the bedroom area the living room and bathroom portions were decently warm most of the day.
Good family hotel-mini golf, pool, water park-for very young children, corn hole, ping pong. Breakfast buffet good, but limited vegetarian options. Nice rooms with refrigerators and microwaves. Friendly staff.
The hotel is pretty good for the price; the rooms are clean and there are nice large pool and sprinklers. Breakfast is ok but it is nice to have before heading out for the day. The lack of restaurants in the facility was a bummer, but overall, it is a decent place to stay.
Great location near all attractions in Williamsburg. The breakfast offerings were adequate. A gluten free toaster is available. The customer service at the front desk is topnotch! Debra did a wonderful job making sure the stay was pleasant. Staff provided good customer service. Ample parking at the hotel. The outdoor pool and splash pad will keep the kids entertained.
The mattress is stiff. (The King size bed option may be more comfortable.) Slow toasters in breakfast area can cause long wait lines. (Placing some waffles in a warming area for easy "grab and go" option would be beneficial.)
The location is great for the historic area, the staff were all friendly
They advertise a restaurant that no longer exists, the resort grounds are actually pretty run down with several buildings in disrepair on the grounds. Mini golf is in pretty rough shape, half of the lights don’t work so you can’t see to play after dark The sofa pullout bed was completely broken in our room and the toilet wouldn’t flush, so they moved us to a new room where the sofa bed was also broken just not as bad
We were able to get an up grade to a king suite with no problem.
The shower was not great I think they can be replace at least in the room we had room 5353
You can't beat the price and location of the hotel! The staff were great to explain things to us and suggesting things for my young kids. Pool and free breakfast were an added bonus.
Pull out couch was fine for a 5 and 8 year old, but it's in rough shape.
Perfect location. Staff is really friendly and helpful, room cleaning service is excellent. There is a lot of amenities for kids and we had a fun time. Easy check-in and check-out.
There is no drying rack for your bathing suit in the room. AC is really laud and old. The pool was packed with people from Friday afternoons throughout the weekend and there is no lifeguard on the premises so some people saw it fit to trough a football in the pool from one end to the other, even do there were smaller kids in and around the pool. Breakfast was really disappointing. Only cooked food was omelets with cheese, they were running out of food all thee time and they are seriously understaffed, tables were not cleaned and each morning there was a huge waiting line.
The Staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions during our stay. Public transportation was conveniently located next to the property. Colonial Williamsburg didn't disappoint.
I was satisfied with everything during our stay. I have no complaints.
The location was great. It was a perfect place to stay when visiting Colonial Williamsburg. The front desk recommended that we order dinner from Sal's, which was delivered to the hotel. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, and delivery was very quick.
Lovely surroundings
Worn
The staff was very helpful
The exhaust fan did not work in the bathroom, two of the sheets/blankets for the pullout chair were dirty and the a/c was terrible. Had to request a fan
The breakfast didn’t have much options
The rooms were too small for a family and kids as I booked a double bedroom. No microwave to warm food . Water was placed in the room for sale Instead of it to be a welcome package for guest.
Very convenient to all the Golden Triangle destinations.
The breakfast had a lot to be desired. The egg bites were terrible. The toaster conveyer belts to heat waffles, muffins, bagels didn’t really heat very well. On our 2nd day the milk container was locked and all they had was oat milk…. BLAH! And there were no waffles or yogurt. Just not very good.
