This is our budget conscience/corporate room, it does not have a view but is considered one of our quieter rooms in the corner of the complex, it has limited natural lighting. There is a queen-size and a single bed in the living area (electric blankets are on the beds during the winter months) with a luxury bed topper on the queen-size bed. There are also spare pillows and blankets in your room. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette (small fridge, microwave, jug, 2-ring hot plate, electric fry pan, saucepans, cooking utensils, cutlery, cups, glasses, complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate, salt and pepper sachets and fresh NZ milk). The private bathroom has great pressure gas hot water and complimentary toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash), a hairdryer and bathroom heater. There is a great heat pump/air-conditioner to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. Free unlimited WiFi. There is a large 55-60inch TV where you can enjoy 25 TV channels including 9 Sky TV channels (including 2 x sport, 2 x movie and Nick Jr for the children).

There wasn’t anything major that we disliked during our stay. As we were only there for one night, everything we needed was adequate and comfortable for our short visit.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026brilliantly functional, as expected from a NZ 'motel' perspective ... it has inhouse cooking facilities if required, and in particular perfectly balanced insulation heating/lighting... fantastic king size bed... shower hw+pressure legendary. Bonus=walking distance to central Wanaka with a plethora of cafes/bars/restaurants on tap.

Reviewed Jul 19, 2026Nice clean, tidy warm unit. A HUGE plus was the shower dome. We have travelled extensively here and overseas, and this is the only accommodation that we have had that has them. No damp, dripping bathroom walls, which saves money on maintenance. Clever thinking. Heat pump, another first, kept our unit toasty warm.

Reviewed Jun 27, 2026The motel provides accommodation very close to the centre of Wanaka, so it is an easy walk into town for food or entertainment. Despite being close to town, it was still a quiet unit.
Very dated, cheap and basic room facilities which hardly justifies the tariff charged, but I guess the price reflects it being in Wanaka and close to the town centre. In keeping with its age, I was still surprised that the windows were not double glazed, given the cold climate, and the unit (bathroom especially) seemed quite cold for our winter stay. Not really a cozy stay.
