Staff were extremely helpful and understanding when my daughter was unable to come to stay. Also very helpful with a couple of issues we had with the unit.

No drying room for ski gear. Could easily add some rails to hang cloths in the cabinets that are currently provided in the laundry for boots. Internet was painfully slow.

Staff were friendly and room was a good size in a great location. Overall the place was okay but wasn't exactly what we were after for the price.

The bathroom - shower was too small to move around in and no storage for toiletries on the bench or shower. Had a little trouble getting the conditioner and body wash bottles to work, dead fly in the bathroom on our arrival day, and the shower plug had to be manipulated a bit so the water would drain properly.

We had the absolute best stay here. The staff were so kind and helpful and went over and above to ensure a great stay for us and the kids. The trampoline! What can I say! The kids loved it. The location was perfect and the room was so clean and comfortable. It’s pricey for a motel but I would highly recommend and we can’t wait to go back.

A fantastic and very informative host. We stayed in the new rooms and they were comfortable, clean and well appointed. Soundproofing was very good, nothing heard from the neighbours. A really nice place to stay.

The bed was a wee bit hard but was comfortable enough all the same.

Newly Well built well furnished motel unit with a good size for two.

Quality built new units with some issues that can easily be fixed: Water coming out of the shower and wet the floor; forehead bumped to the lower end of the kitchen cabinet a few times during our stay(either the cabinet is too low or the beach top is not deep enough; need a simple instruction to use the stove.

huge hole under door with air flying in, paper thin curtains and single glazed windows- went straight back to reception after walking into room to say we couldn't stay in there in -4 degrees and would not refund me. Went to Oakridge for the same price.

The room we have stayed was extremely clean and comfortable especially the bed. The staff who help us check in is very helpful and nice and she can speak with us in Cantonese that surprise us too.

Wifi was quite poor, kitchen and fridge a little small, ok for one night. Need somewhere to put bags. The second room with 2 single beds was a bit cramped.

I had stayed a few weeks prior in the new side and loved it - didn't realise the room this time was old

I paid and checked in - and and once I saw the room I checked right away if any of the newer rooms were available - they weren't. There was a 1 inch gap under the door to the outside where it would have been -4 over night - I had booked two rooms. We went and stayed elsewhere. The curtains were paper thin, old single glass window/sills and worn furniture in places and brick walls. Would have been too cold despite a heat pump. The bed was under the windows. The manager agreed he had told the owner the doors should go to the ground (for goodness sake) and that area was to be demolished soon. No help at all with a refund and said would charge one room. I had only paid one room and want a refund for that. But said it's up to booking.com not them despite paying at the property.

Archway Motels & Chalets was an amazing place to stay! From the moment we arrived, Mark at reception made us feel genuinely welcome. Our upstairs chalet offered a lovely view, and we were impressed by how spacious, modern, and spotless it was. The accommodation exceeded our expectations in every way. The location is also excellent, with restaurants, Asian supermarkets, and local grocery stores all within easy walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Wanaka.

The only small drawback was that the TV or internet connection seemed a bit unstable. When we watched YouTube, the videos paused quite often. Since we only stayed for two nights and weren’t using it much, it wasn’t a major issue for us.

I made a mistake and booked 6 in the room with one bathroom/toilet. Very challenging. Motel boss kindly allowed us to use the toilet in the next room.

Very comfortable and well equipped

Everything was amazing! This is the best Motel/Chalet we have stayed in. Everything was so clean and tidy. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, we had a great sleep, the rooms are very quiet. The owners are really friendly and helpful. We also booked the Hot Spa which is very reasonably priced for Wanaka and we had a spectacular view of the stars.

Only stayed 1 night while passing through Wanaka. Room had everything we needed. Very clean, nice bathroom, good shower. Handy location.

Nothing to not like

The room was modern and clean. Can walk down to the shops and the lake. Only 1 or 2 blocks away. The gentleman in reception was very knowledgeable of the local area and very helpful to us. They were great in allowing us to book an extra room on of arrival, and ensuring we were next to each other.

Easy to find, great access, nice and quiet Great staff communication

We arrived at the location earlier than the stipulated check-in time. Mark offered to allow us an early check-in as the room happened to be to ready. He was very friendly and recommended us with a number of popular places to visit over the next few days. Very detailed sharing to assure us that we will have an eventful time spent on Wānaka. The chalet provided comprehensive utensils for the kitchen, including washing detergent. There is also a laundry room and hangers are provided if we like to dry our clothings in the room. You may change for coins at the reception to use the washing machine. The showering facilities are great, with warm-up tiles to keep us comfortable from cold weather. Condition is well maintained and modern. The kids especially enjoyed their own beds in a separate room too. The chalet also provided aircon blower for hot air and bed warmers as well. The location is just a 2 mins drive from the town centre, and about 5 mins drive from Lake Wānaka, where you can see That Wānaka Tree.
