Unfortunately there was only a shower over the bath. Owing to our age and mobility issues we could not use. We had been told that our type of room did not have a walk in shower but not advised which room had.

I liked the location with lots of options on restaurants, shops, nature, and transportation. Breakfast had lots of options, it was tasteful, and fresh every morning. Restaurant staff were great and welcoming!

Very few staff were pleasant and welcoming. Shout out to Tonya (reception) and all the staff from the breakfast area. The room didn't have refrigerator nor bottle of water. The room decoration needs some updates, but beds were agreeable. I expected better reception for paying my stay one year in advance of my stay. Lesson learned.

Parking is tricky. Different zones and restrictions are complex. Sunday parking needs a permit on sea front but not on roads next to hotel. Got a parking ticket for this.

As usual, the View Hotel lives up to it's reputation as my favourite hotel in Eastbourne. I look forward to staying again soon.

Easy check in, clean bathroom, nice toiletries, sea view, good TV, very quiet in room. Buffet breakfast was a good selection.

Cleaning missed from prior guest liquid spill, easy oversight however. Tea/ coffee facilities could have been better. Chair in room a bit tired.

A favourite hotel when I visit Eastbourne. Clean, comfortable, lovely staff, and a great location overlooking the sea. Just over the road is the parade with good walks west and east. Can’t fault the hotel .

Breakfast. Egg yolks had run out and when they came were broken, beans were run out for long time and it was “ just 5 mins”. Croissants needed refilling. It was like no one told the kitchen that it was a Saturday and the hotel is full.

The location was excellent for the congress theatre and for the beach and shops. We had a good room with excellent sea view. Definitely ask for the same room again.

The room was small but adequate, we didn’t pay extra for a sea view. The breakfast as always was very good plenty of tables lovely variety of dishes.

We would really like a car park, I know that is not possible. The plug on the basin did not work.

I have booked this hotel as I have seen a good deal thru booking.com.Upon arrival we are greeted professionally by a young woman and checked us in very quick and easy.We have been assigned in our room and was surprised that we have been given a slight seaview 😆.I have book just a normal room as its only for one night and says city view so I expect buildings only or side road.The room was clean ,bed was very comfortable,room was quiet.We had a good night before attending our event the next morning.Breakfast was good and the lady there is also friendly and professsional. My only comment is there is no complementary water in the room when we arrive.Theres also an old man at the reception when I went to get a parking at night for the next day. He is not smilling and not very welcoming approaching guest. not explaining how the parking works nicely.I find it a little rude of him the way he speaks.Maybe he is just old and grumpy🤣.Thing is staff at reception is the highlights of the hotel.He is not that friendly.The other younger man thou who I paid the payment for parking is nice.So far we are happy staying At THE VIEW HOTEL and will be coming back in the future.

Every time we visit Eastbourne we stay here. The staff are friendly and breakfast is great.

The room was very hot. If you left the air conditioning on then you got to cold. Also it’s August and they had a Christmas tree up. To early for that.

Lumpy sofa bed which was very uncomfortable - we had a family room for 4 people which wasn’t enough bed space for 4 people to sleep comfortably. Only 2 glasses and 2 cups for coffee although 4 people. Only 6 pillows between us - had to ask for more - £307 for one night / a family room should have enough beds for 4 people. We also booked a table for breakfast but it wasn’t sent up to the restaurant and we had to wait ages for a table. Also all breakfast food at the buffet wasn’t refilled - no beans, no eggs or bacon at 9.40am - we had to wait a further 20 mins for replenishment - dirty coffee cups and dirty sauces (all in a large bowl) yuk / would not come again

Lovely greeting from.all the staff particularly at reception and the cafe. Comfortable bed and room. Easy access to the theatre a short walk away. As usual a wonderful 2 night holiday.

The afternoon staff, two guys weren’t particularly friendly or welcoming. However, the girl on reception in the morning was very nice. Beds too firm for my liking and the pillows were either too high or too low.

Unfortunately, there was a children’s dance competition on at the nearby theatre so hotel was overrun with precocious brats, not much can be done about that, but they were allowed in the bar where they ran amok.

Great location. Modern hotel with lovely rooms and private venue facilities. Great food and wonderful service from all staff. Very clean public spaces and great selection of toiletries in bathrooms.

Unusual shower function took some puzzling out. Duvet were too thick/heavy for this time of year. Personally, I found the pillows uncomfortable - 1 on its own was not enough but 2 was too firm. Also, we would have preferred to be able to set the AC to a cooler temperature than was fixed.

Nice hotel the occasion we attended was a great buffet. The breakfast was superb.

The booking wasn't put through correctly surname and first names were reversed and the room wasn't made as a twin. But it was changed. Tea making facilities were hidden in a drawer which I'm not used to. The guy on reception when I checked in put the cost through to the card machine my payment went through with him watching then he asked to see my card to check the number matched the receipt printed by the the card machine. Never been asked before and didn't like the insinuation that I may be trying to defraud with the payment.

We've been a few times butis looking a bit tired in places especially the room furniture. OItherwise GOOD

Check in was so easy and effortless, less than 5 minutes! Perfect. A parking Permit for the Car for 24 hours was £2.50, again very helpful staff.

Room very comfortable. Bathroom had good shower. Breakfast did the job without being exceptional. Excellent seafront location. Air-con was great in the very hot weather.

Would have liked a fridge in room. Bar area downstairs was quite noisy. A quiet lounge area, not on ground floor, would have been good.

From start to finish, the staff were fabulous. Always froendly and amazing at their job. We didnt require any additional help, but it was obvious The View staff would help in any way.

I liked that the sea was always within view from the window and balcony. My room was comfortable . I liked the retractable washing line over the bath. And the reading lamps either side of the bed.

The furniture being wood was in need of re-varnishing . The iron board cover needed a new one as had old burn marks and the iron kept sticking to the clothes not ironing smoothly

Location is excellent. Room upgrade to a front balcony (booked side view). Comfortable bed slept well. Good food selection for breakfast.

I couldn't work out the shower so had to have a bath - probably just me!

Space for guests in the dining room at breakfast was quite limited and it became overly crowded at times. In most respects the room lived up to its billing as a Superior room. However we were a little disappointed to find no bottled water on offer, no slippers, no bath robes, no tissues, no writing paper or pen, no fridge, no balcony table, no cushions for the chairs.

Huge with beautiful sea facing balconies. Immaculately clean. All food was of excellent quality and great value. Will absolutely return when next in Eastbourne.

Considering it was a very busy weekend - airborne, there was a very low selection of beers and spirits available.

Particular members of staff, Scott served us throughout the day, an asset to the Hotel! Housekeeper who did our room 716, on checking out saw I left my phone charger quickly took it down to reception. The lovely young girl on reception chased us down the road to hand it to me!

The carvery, in the evening you are rushed, quality of food and staff not well trained.

Didn't like my evening meal served at the table at 7pm in a takeaway box,the airshow finished at 5pm but was served take away boxes. Full menus were on tables in bar area,so I ordered food at bar to be told this menu was not valid can only choose from bar menu,why were the main menus on tables ???

The location was really good for the airshow. Breakfast was hot and plentiful, needed more fruit than stodge though.

New pillows, ours were lumpy and hard. I thought that guests would be able to sit outside on the balcony to have a drink, but we weren't allowed! Paid tickets only, that's wrong did not say guests weren't allowed when we booked, just cashing in.

Very functional well run hotel, all staff pleasant and efficient. Very well positioned and good access to everything. Everything worked well, lifts, facilities in bedroom, all worked efficiently. Very good breakfast!

Another wonderful stay. Room was spotless and the balcony was a touch of luxury to relax in the sun watching the world go by. Breakfast was great value and housekeeping were so quick they did my room each day before I returned from breakfast. Can’t wait to return again next year.

Everything exceptionally clean - room and common areas. Perhaps the only slight let down was the balcony flooring - needed a good scrub down - perhaps a different surface would be easier to maintain. Very good location for beach and good walks. Staff friendly & helpful. Breakfast gave excellent choice and was plentiful if you wanted that. Especially good was the all-round coffee machine offering wide selection.

The bed size in single room was just about ok for me - I;m only 164 cm and very slim. Anyone bigger would have been very uncomfortable - difficult to turn over and possibly hanging off the end of bed. The main restaurant was very cold - airconditioning up too high and difficult to find a table out of reach of the draft. I don't want to be wearing a sweater or jacket through a meal. Dinner in main restaurant on my first night was disappointing. I had a far more appetising meal just around the corner on my second night (which also cost me far less). I did not use the balcony much as it had little sun after mid morning. If you like afternoon / evening sun you need to be in the west side of the hotel.

Location and the towels in the room were excellent.

The standard rooms are very small and the pillows were too hard. We found the food all round was of mediocre quality. The pizzas seemed like they were supermarket bought.

we were really looking forward to this trip, especially with the eclipse at Beachy Head and the start of the air show happening while we were there. I have to say, though, the check-in experience really stayed with me. The check in. The receptionist was very welcoming to everyone, but there was a very noticeable change in him when he found our reservation. His face and tone changed, he stopped making eye contact with me and basically stopped talking. He didn't give us the second key and said he didn't know how to do it, and then just sent us off without really engaging with us ( no info on the hotel at all, nothing, just “you can read this later”). Technically, he didn't actually do anything wrong or say anything rude. Maybe he was having a bad day. Maybe there was another reason for it. I honestly don't know. But the change in attitude was so obvious that I couldn't help feeling uncomfortable. I even wondered whether it was because we'd booked through an external site rather than directly with the hotel, or maybe because of my accent. ? Was it? Or was there a comment in the internal system? Why the sudden change? it felt like we were being treated differently, and unfortunately I couldn't quite shake that feeling for the rest of the day. The room itself was okay. The side sea view wasn't really what I'd call a side sea view (I've added some photos), It was a technical side sea view, I guess:) it’s fine! we've stayed here before ( in different side sea view rooms - so can compare) anyways it’s is probably their busiest time of the year with the airshow, it’s fine :) We ended up thinking it was probably for the best. We weren't on the sunny side, so the room stayed lovely and cool despite the 30+°C heat. We did still enjoy our stay, and I don't want this review to make it sound like the whole experience was bad. We've stayed here before and will probably come back again. I just think when you're paying over $700 for three nights as a special treat, you want to feel welcomed from the moment you arrive. Especially when you're choosing to spend that kind of money here rather than going abroad. Maybe it was just one person's bad day. But first impressions really do matter, and I wish we'd had a different welcome.

Room was a good size and decorated in a modern style. Bathroom was big enough and clean with all soaps etc provided. The bed was a good size and was very comfortable. View of the town / hills behind was fine. Better than a rear view of air-con fans and flat roofs like some hotels. Restaurant was a really nice environment with sea views. Food was fine and well presented. Breakfast was particularily nice with excellent choice / options. The location of the hotel again was excellent - right on the sea front and only a 15 min walk from the station.

Only small issue was what appeared to be too few staff on in the restaurant on a Tuesday night. The staff were polite and courteous, but we had to seek them out on a few occasions as there were no follow up visits to the table to see if we required anything.

The view hotel is a very pleasant place to stay ..on arrival check in was easy ..we were given a ticket for parking which cost a reasonable £2.50 a day ..the hotel room was nice with a lovely view of the sea ..we booked an economy which had everything you would need ..although one side had no table or shelf to put a drink which would have been good but apart from that it was all good ..breakfast was great and relaxing..all was nice and clean and would definitely stay here again

The hotel is overpriced and they completely messed up one of the 3 rooms i booked which resulted in my son, partner and 2 babies leaving early meaning they missed the wedding reception we were there for Where i complained, they tried to palm me off with platitudes rather than deal with the issue

My recent stay at The View Hotel in Eastbourne proved that not every escape from London requires a passport — merely good taste and a decent balcony. My Balcony Suite delivered handsomely on both fronts. The room itself was generously proportioned, but it was the balcony that stole the show, offering an uninterrupted 180-degree panorama sweeping from the pier to the famous white cliffs — a view that made checking my phone feel like a minor crime against nature. Dinner arrived courtesy of the Artcain Restaurant's room service, where a classic fish & chips was executed with quiet confidence, followed by a chocolate fondant and ice cream that required no persuasion whatsoever. Few things pair better with a sea view than a fondant that oozes on cue. Special mention must go to the staff, who elevated the stay from pleasant to memorable. James on Reception was helpfulness personified, while Pauline, overseeing breakfast, deserves particular credit for remembering my room number on every visit — a small courtesy that speaks volumes about the care taken here. In short: a stress-free, warmly staffed hotel with the sea on one side and the white cliffs on the other.
