It’s a beautiful old building, the room was nicely updated. Sits right in the city center making it very convenient to walk everywhere. Staff was super friendly and helpful, minus the GM, he was rude and pretentious.

The hotel is in a great location, right in the heart of the city. Everything is easily walkable, and it’s great to be able to stop in easily as you’re moving in different directions to grab things, go to the bathroom. The family suite was excellent for us with kids (ages 4 and 7), and was in a good spot with less noise (rooms overlooking the plaza are louder do to how much fun everyone is having outside). Great stay, great service, great location. Would highly recommend

Location was great. I got there pretty late and check in was fast and front desk was certainly accommodating and accessible.

Probably because it's in downtown it was noisy until the early hours of the morning.

Walkable to downtown

I wouldn't stay there again! It would have been nice if I was told that the elevator was out of service before I paid, but of course I wasn't until seconds after I ran my card! 86 steps up with 6 suitcases and 4 backpacks! Funny thing is that not only I was tired but my kids and 15 y/o granddaughter! In addition, ABSOLUTELY NO a/c !!!!! What ?!? And pillows were horrible. Hard, hard, and HARD !! Never staying there again!

This properties location is absolutely amazing. It is without a doubt in the center of all the fun. You are walking distance to everything. The staff at the hotel is very helpful and super nice. The hotel is of course dated with no AC and has an un working elevator but it is very much woth the stay for the views.

Too much noise

We loved our stay at Hotel San Diego. Although the elevators were not working, Jose was extremely kind enought to always pffer his assistance withour Luggage. The rooms were very clean and the convenience of being en el centro was amazing!! Definitely coming back!

This is it in a quiet part. There is no AC in the hotel only a floor fan.

Hotel San Diego is ideally located in the heart of Guanajuato. It is central to all the local restaurants, museums and shopping. It is not quiet, in the best way possible. The city comes alive in the evening with music and local flavor. There is a charming quiet inner courtyard and several rooftops to sit and enjoy the perfect weather. They have their own Italian Restaurant with good food. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Our room was simple, but comfortable and clean. I booked early in the year and got an excellent rate for our week. I will stay here again next time I come.

Good place

No a/c, elevator has been broken for a while. Front staff doesn’t answer telephone, you can hear everything going on in your surroundings.

You are basically paying for location. Hotel is a bit run down… furniture in room is quite worn. Customer service is great and the location is perfect, if you don’t mind the noise until 1AM or so.

Place was great…very clean…close to everything. Definitely would stay again!

I am handicap and this hotel have no ramps for wheelchair access. Very inconvenient. Would not recommend this hotel.

It was a nice and quiet place. Close to everything el jardín de la union and teatro Juárez.

Enjoyed our stay. Specially the callejoniadas that kept passing through our room window. Literally steps from the plaza, restaurants, bars and cafes. Only downside was that they don’t have parking BUT valet is available. (If there is room in the parking garage) which has cameras everywhere. Would def. stay again.

Service was good from some of the workers there, the best one wasbfrom a man named don jose, the bad part was that they say no a lot for some not that difficult requests, we were in the terrace enjoying the view, sobwebasked for them to open the restroom and told us no because it was only for events, so we had to go to the lobby or our room to go to the restrooms, This was my 2nd time here, i will think about if i stay there next time.

Close to everything

Amazing hotel right in the heart of Guanajuato. The property is beautiful and comfortable. The room service is great. We will definitely come back soon.

Very beautiful hotel in probably the most perfect spot ever. Right at the main garden and within a 1+ mile radius to the more important locations to visit.

Fantastic location, can't get better. Parking in the city is difficult but they figure it out for you by providing private 3rd party parking they pay for. Comfortable rooms, beautiful facilities.

I loved the proximity to downtown Guanajuato, only downside to it, is that there is no parking, however, parking lot was fairly close, about a five minute walk. Staff was great and the room was very clean and comfortable.

Very polite and courteous staff. The only thing I believe could be better was air conditioning, but they do provide additional fans if needed.

The Hotel is nicely located within easy walking distance to everything. If you have an exterior room closing the doors and curtains reduces the level of noise (lots of music) but bring earplugs. What I thought was lacking was the lack of coffee or any cups in the room. Cups or glasses were not available at the front des. When we asked we were told that they are no longer furnished because often they were broken by guests. The elevator was out of order as was our lock box. Finally I thought that the hotel had a restaurant and bar. When I asked I was told that the restaurant was next door.

My experience at San Diego Hotel was great, location is great, everything is within walking distance, rooms are clean and roomy, staff is very friendly and helpful. I would come back to this hotel and will recommend it to family and friends.

the noise was terrible we stay on room 105 right on the street next to all bars we can't sleep at all, No air conditioner the temperature at the room was very high

Hotel is located right at the heart of Guanajuato. The view was amazing, we were able to see the callejoneadas, listen to the norteño and mariachi playing in the plaza and buy delicious ezquite literally in front of the entrance of the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful historical hotel located right in the center of downtown. This is our second time staying at this hotel and we love it! The views are amazing and the staff is helpful and friendly. We will be back soon.

Our flight was canceled! Never made it to hotel. Tried to cancel our booking and could never reach anyone. No one got back to me! Terrible customer service!!

Location great and not so great. Easy walk to many restaurants But right in front of the hotel celebrations started at 7:00 pm thru 5:00 am. No sleep plus no air conditioning so room extremely warm. King bed and shower was great. Hotel parking does not exist but a 5-10 minute walk to parking lot Staff does help with carrying your luggage to your car.

Great place to stay

The hotel is fine - bed comfortable, all clean, but no hair dryer. Only real problem was the noise at night with a room overlooking the square. Bring ear plugs!

This place was amazing it was right in front of everything and it is walking distance to everything. I really recommend this place, although one thing to consider is that it does not have air conditioner so if you plan on going during the summer months it will be hot.

The property is rustic vintage colorful beautiful as well as the surrounding area. The receptionist at the hotel were efficient but not very friendly in their manner that is the only small down but overall beautiful hotel and beautiful little city

I highly recommend hotel San Diego, due to the location and proximity to museums, restaurants, transportation, and Central Park.

Property was ok after I paid additional monies; However they did a switch and bait on the room and price. Requested a room with balcony on expedia. Given a room that was too small and dirty. They claimed since I booked thru expedia and not them that a balcony was not available, that I should have booked thru them directly to get the balcony.
