This was the most amazing place I've stayed at. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The room was large, the bathroom was great and they had yorkshire tea. I was in heaven.
The bed was pretty hard.
Location spot on. Right across from Nottingham train station. TESCO right next door and a bar on site! Good continental breakfast included, could also pay more for a huge full cooked breakfast. Lovely staff let us keep our luggage there after check out so we could visit the sights.
No ensuite bathroom, but we did know that and that was reflected in the price . No elevator but the staff do help carry cases if necessary.
Good breakfast great location staff very friendly
Very spacious rooms and very clean.
No lift

Stairs!!
Excellent location opposite train station. Lovely building with lots of character.
Slightly noisy in early hours outside station
I loved the style of windows gave it a cosy view, close to the train station and a local supermarket
The only issue that I found was in the toilets I couldn’t find a bin for sanitary products ect
Great staff and comfortable room. Buffet breakfast was sufficient for us.
Our room overlooked the railway station where there were some rough sleepers. At times they were quite noisy and a couple of scuffles took place.
Fabulous location right next to station. Terrific, helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast
The stairs!!! The stairs !! But thanks to Barman for helping with bags up 3 flights
Clean, cosy room. Clean bathrooms with shower gel provided. Early check in on prior request. Friendly staff and lovely decor in breakfast room. Continental breakfast included in the price.
Traffic noise in rooms facing the station with traffic going past all the night. Take earplugs!
Location
Very noisy outside, didnt get much sleep at all.
It’s right by the train station, within walking distance of the town and is right by Tesco. Easy to find and everything you need is there.
The tv didn’t work which I did mention to them but I think there were dead batteries in the remote. I had my tablet so I used that instead. Stairs up to property which could be hard for accessibility. Quite noisy if windows open with people shouting as it’s on a busy road.
The staff were excellent and so accommodating. It is literally located across from the train station. Breakfast was great. The room was clean and comfortable.
It was a bit hot and the window would not stay open. The fan helped though.

Welcoming staff
Stayed here many times so must have liked the place, unfortunately this time I was really badly bitten by bed bugs. The quality of the breakfast has diminished over the years.
Location and cleanliness
It can be quite noisy because of the main road underneath especially in summertime if you keep windows open to get fresh air in.
Czystość, wygodne łóżko łazienka w pokoju
Mała klapa na toalecie co było dyskomfortem dla nas dorosłych
Overall, the hotel is very nice and stylishly designed, I really enjoyed my stay there. However, I would rate the breakfast as a rather generous 7 out of 10. The room appeared clean, but it turned out there were bugs in the bed... o yeah, I got bitten (I explain this further below). Another major downside is that the rooms lack private bathrooms, so even just to fill the kettle with water, you risk being seen by others while in "your pajamas", which isn't a pleasant experience. Mix feelings, that somehow escaped my notice, otherwise, I wouldn't have booked this hotel. But then again, the price reflects the standard. Recommended for someone who doesn't pay attention to such things.
And yes, now IM share a very disappointing and distressing experience from my recent stay at Bentinck Hotel in Nottingham over the weekend. As a meticulously clean person who takes hygiene very seriously, I was horrified to discover that I was bitten by bed bugs in my room. Im an honest person, and I will not hide the fact that this happened. Waking up with intense itching, multiple swollen bumps, and large red, raised welts the size of a two-pound coin, It was a very unpleasant experience for me.. Dealing with these bites and the anxiety of potentially bringing pests back home is unacceptable.
Please be careful when booking, as some of the rooms have a shared bathroom located along the corridor, which was not what I expected. There are also a lot of stairs, so this may not be suitable for everyone, especially if you have heavy luggage. Unfortunately, my room was very cold, and there was no option to turn the heating on. I asked the staff if they could switch it on, but they refused, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. The top-floor rooms can also be very noisy, particularly if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay. The shared bathroom was not very clean during my visit, and the breakfast selection was very limited.
Good location and friendly staff.
Room was lovely Staff was brilliant
Stunning hotel with friendly staff and a lovely dining room for breakfast
Heating was on in the bathroom which made it too hot in summer however they did provide fans
The staff (as always) were brilliant.
As i was travelling from birmingham by train, the hotel's location was perfect. The girls behind the counter were very welcoming and easy to deal with. I loved the fact that there is a nice little bar and the sitting room style lounge was very relaxing. Breakfast was a continental, i ordered a hot breakfast which was quite cheap and very tasty. I booked the double room with private bathroom, the room was very comfortable and clean. The location is the major selling point, close to all ameneties, ample transport right outside the front door, and close to the world famous city ground, so great for those travelling for Nottingham Forest games. I'll be staying here everytime i travel for a game.
Not the hotels fault, but it got quite noisy outside the hotel quite early in the morning, there is a Tesco next door, and they were receiving deliveries. other than that, i have no complaints.
L'accueil et l'emplacement...
Pas de parking mais il y en avait un pas loin Attention tout est à l'étage
It was in an ideal location and was really quirky. Really enjoyed staying here
Well it was really hot weather and it was very difficult to sleep, we did have a fan in the room but it just seemed uncomfortable. It wasn't till the morning when we were leaving that we realised the towel rail in the bathroom was on full blast and was hotter than outside!!!! Have no clue why this was on at all
It was good proximity to the town center
The room was small and no air conditioning so had to open the window as the room being at the top of the hotel was very hot, but could not sleep due to the noise from the street below through the night due to homeless camped out below
Location to the station (literally next door),proximity to Nottm city centre, the rooms are always spot on. I’ve stopped here many times and have already booked again
Nothing really
Shared bathroom fine, but maybe some shampoo in the room would've been nice. Bathroom fittings a bit wobbly tbh. Shower tap fell off for example. But otherwise comfortable stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful. I liked the building, had a boutique feel particularly the breakfast/cafe room. Breakfast was ok (continental included in the price which was reasonable). Perfectly located opposite the train station as that was our mode of transport to get there. Also plenty of buses stop outside and it's only a 10 min walk to the shops, castle, pubs, restaurants etc., The bathroom seemed quite new and we liked the shower that was simple to use and told you how many litres of water you were using. It was very quiet for a centrally located hotel.
The bed was very uncomfortable and felt very small (standard double), not sure even a mattress topper would have helped as the base was hard board (so no give). The windows opened which was great but because they're old sash they don't stay open. There was a fan in the room which was useful.
La ubicación, el personal y lo limpio que estaba
No hubo nada que no me gustara
The hotel was charming and the staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I was so pleased that they noticed I had left my bag and called me just after so I could return to get it. Location right opposite the station is super handy.
nothing
The room and bathroom were very clean. The staff were really helpful and friendly.
It would be really helpful to have a couple of hooks or a coat stand in the bedroom to hang up jackets or towels.
It suited us perfectly as you step out of the railway station and it is right in front of you The staff were fantastic and friendly Location is handy to shops and restaurants
Unfortunately there is no lift 🛗 so you have to lug your luggage up the stairs ( in our case 4 levels) But if you are travelling light hey no problem
Location opposite the station and 5 minute walk to a brewery tap
Reception on first floor up a long steep staircase would make it difficult for some to access and no lift to upper floors although thus was clearly stated
Right near train station which was handy. Friendly staff. Clean room and comfy bed
Paid extra £20 for own bathroom but shower didn't work. Was woken at 5am by noise outside.
Everything great staff brilliant all round

Loved the room 😍
Didn't like the stairs no ensuite bathroom and room was very hot need a small fridge in the room and a bigger fan
The room was so spacious - much bigger than other standard hotels. The staff were very friendly.
Nothing. I was aware of the shared bathrooms while booking. They were clean and well maintained.
Ideal location for the railway station and only a short walk into town.
I understood a shared bathroom to be between adjoining bedrooms not along the hallway. My fault I suppose as perhaps not read info carefully enough.
房间太闷热,其他都好
Nice bed, good shower clean
Radiator in bathroom on timer it was 24 degrees and bo eay of turning of bathroom radiators
Incredibly convenient for the station
A little bit noisy overnight, I think it was Tesco deliveries next door. If it had not been so hot we could have clised the windows.
Great location, staff were very friendly and the room was clean.
Staff very wrelcoming made us feel right at home
Right outside the train station and very close to the town centre. The staff were phenomenal!

I liked the decor and atmosphere
The room just needed that option for low lighting
Booked through Booking.Com and called the reception to ask if the bar was extending opening hours for the England game on 11th July. Receptionist was really blunt and just said ' no we won't'. Really didn't know what to say after that, I'd expect someone working with customers to say ' I'm sorry sir, no we won't be extending the hours unfortunately '. Sounded so stuck up and honestly glad I booked a flexible date and was able to cancel. Maybe need some staff training on how to deal with customers on the phone. Would never consider or recommend The Bromsgrove to anyone.
Meget venligt personale og god placering.
Location was perfect as we arrived by train, and the hotel was within walking of the city. Staff were super helpful and polite. Bed was very comfortable. Check in easy.
More variety for the continental breakfast. For example, a fruit salad or mixed berries.
Very convenient location, literally next to the train station. I had my window open and was surprised how little train noise there was. Friendly staff, large room, comfortable bed, continental breakfast. Happy to stay again
The hotel was easy to find, very clean and comfortable good breakfast and very friendly staff.
The shower was quite small , but everything else ok.
Nice spacious family room. Windows opened nicely. Continental breakfast was very nice. lovely staff.
The second bed was not made up in the family room and it was a rickety sofa bed. It was ok, but id expect a proper bed. Room on the top floor so barking in heatwave. One fan. Bathroom was really hot, no extractor fan.
Good location for me. Nice clean room Let me check my bag in early Friendly staff
Just a couple of minor issues.. The shower room light was on a timer and the light went off whilst I was showering and the detector didn't detect my movements leaving me completely in the dark. I couldn't get the TV remote to work.
Easy access. Good central place to go anywhere from. Nice little dining room
The shared bathrooms were really hot. Almost sweltering. Really noisy outside as well. Which is understandable I suppose. Train station, roads etc. Woken up at 5am by noisy lorries
Location suited our needs.
The (new since we were last there?) shower in our room was not suitable for use by women. There is only a high overheard fixed showerhead meaning that women can't wash their private parts except by standing on their heads or hands in the shower. (There are no flannels or sponges provided so unless you've brought your own you can't do it the old fashioned way either.)
Location / friendliness
No air con exc fan but you get what you pay for
Staff were very friendly, and all too happy to assist. I cannot fault the staff, or even the management.
My room had bed bugs... This resulted in me and my wife leaving at 3am, after finding them crawling over our sheets and pillows. It was disgusting. I do not at all think this is a standard that Bentinck hold themselves too, but this is the standard I was met with. The images attached show "unfed" bugs but we know we were bitten since there were also longer "fed" ones and blood splatters on the bed. Again, vile. I called management at 3am and while she immediately told me I would be getting a full refund, she also told me there was nothing they could do right now... Which personally feels wrong. Is this because you know your rooms are infested so couldn't offer me an alternative one of those? Saying "you understand" that I had to go instead of offering any alternative was odd in itself... Bed bugs won't stay confined to one room, so best of luck with the whole place is all I'll say. The whole trip was ruined, and it was all because you had failed to uphold your own hygiene standards for a supposedly very highly rated hotel. Again, incredibly upset as you are more than aware, since you knew this review was coming. The image showing the room was taken as reassurance to ourselves, and the room itself (on the surface) looked lovely as we entered. This is simply how it was left with the sheets and towels on the bed. If we completely disregard this disgusting event, which I am confident is not the usual and instead the result of an unfortunate guest, then the place was what I paid for. It was a lovely room with a nice double bed and even nicer view. The shared bathroom was a let down but this was no fault of the hotels, since I misread this myself, and it serviced us as well as it could have. Truly I'm gutted about this experience, but obviously we won't be coming back here.
very nice atmosphere, a bit like an upscale hostel. Got to chatting with other guests at breakfast. Nice communal area with a bar. This all makes up for the slightly loud neighbourhood.
As this hotel is right next to the train station, it can get a little loud at night, and it was summer and there is no air conditioning (just a fan), so I had my windows open. But the bed was so comfy that I slept well anyway.
Location, location, location.
Too many steep stairs for someone with mobility issues. However, this was my own fault for not checking first.
Location & Breakfast
Fire door with Do not close notice attached also fire escape on top floor not in use apparently council ok'd this.
The location
Cleanliness, lack of staff (only one at breakfast doing it all) we had finished breakfast before our coffee came, we ate at a table with someone else’s dirty breakfast dishes left(because all tables had dirty dishes on)
Super friendly & helpful, characterful & clean, perfect if you're arriving by train. Lovely breakfast, great price, comfy bed, my room had big windows, a hairdryer, refreshments, all of which I was not expecting so luvly jubly! Would defo use again 😻 x
Spotless and friendly staff
Nothing
The receptionist was very welcoming when we arrived The room was great. The bed was nice and big and comfy. Fortunately shared bathroom was clean
Upon booking and looking into this hotel it said it contained a bar within. However we arrived on a Sunday and the bar shuts at 15.30 now if we would have known this was the case we would of booked somewhere else this should be made clear when booking. Also upon arrival we was told breakfast was included and it would be continental but again upon booking and details it states continental full English/Irish and we wasn't given the choice. When getting back to hotel room we had enough milk for one brew each and all reception shut. Then was awoken at 5.30am to Starbucks and Tesco having delivery. So unfortunately was not the best stay
Perfect central location, friendly and welcoming staff. Room was clean with modern facilities
Toilet wasn't initially working but staff rectified this quickly
Very clean, lovely staff. Nice room modern features, but still original fire place. Really cute.
It's right opposite the train station so Saturday night was quite noisy. And I would've loved a cooked breakfast to be included in the booking. The continental was good, but nothing beats a cooked brekkie. I could've got one there but had too pay extra.
Le charme des chambres et l’emplacement
Il faut prévenir qu’il n’y a pas d’ascenseur
Very helpful and hard working staff. Very clean. Convenient for train station and tram. On the cheaper side.
As a lone female it didn’t feel the safest - I noticed my window didn’t have a lock and I was awoken in the night by banging and street noise. I think if you pay for breakfast as part of the price it’s also a bit unusual to have to pay for a cooked option. I also didn’t see any vegan options as part of the continental offering (vegan milk etc). This is becoming quite standard in chain hotels. However, the staff are a real credit to this place.
The location was perfect and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The WiFi never really worked that well. The room was streetside and it was loud, everytime a bus came by my bed was shaking. One morning at 7am there was loud construction noise (I realise that this is not the Hotel's fault).
Bed was big and comfortable, room was big, it was not noisy as I was initially expected. The person in the reception was super helpful also the next day⁸. The small coffe shop/bar at the reception was nice and breakfast was also fine. The location is exactly in front of the station and the tram is very closed by.
Bathroom shared , I didnt check when I booked, but fortunately clean , remember to waive your hand to switch on the lamp. The staircase up was small and no lift. However, I got help with my luggage so it was fine.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were a good size and great value for money.
Nothing
Excellent location between the train station and Broadmarsh bus station. Friendly and welcoming staff. I accidentally booked the 'shared bathroom' option but I didn't have any issues. Two bathrooms on the floor I stayed and both were clean and no issues accessing them when I needed to. Breakfast was tasty.
No complaints. I was very satisfied with my stay.
Lovely comfortable bedroom, friendly staff and good location
Didn't realise there was no toilet in the bedroom, it was near by in corridor.
Really lovely staff, pretty hotel and cheap
Smallish rooms but not a problem
Lovely staff. Cute, comfortable and clean. Good location. Can recommend and would stay again.
Nothing, was all good!
Very friendly very clean and surprisingly quiet considering it's proximity to the train station ..only drawback is the stairs but im disabled and I still managed
No breakfast as they didnt have the staff. Its run ion a tight ship and theres no one there at night
A going fan in the room with it being so hot
The stairs but obviously that cant be helped
Room is big and clean. It is very close to the city centre. The view is very pretty.
Room hasn't have its own bathroom. There are two bathrooms available but shared. They are always clean, and close to the room, but still they where not in the room.
Perfect location for Overnight business stay
missed it was only continental breakfast as the baseline choice - didnt pay for the cooked breakfast upgrade
Was really clean and close to the train station
Reception closed at 3pm
Noise from street below.
Friendly staff, perfect location just opposite the situation. Spacious room with good bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The intercontinental was fine
Not much I can think off but maybe better if the staff check regularly the shower battery befiore checking in guest as in my room it was giving low battery which was a bit worrying. Was a bit noisy during the night but I already knew that given the location. Maybe some towel hangers
Todo. Se trata de un hotel con encanto, muy limpio, bien ubicado y el personal super amable.
El desayuno podría ser más variado.
So convenient for the festival we were attending
Everything fine
A fantastic welcome from the young man when we arrived. Very welcoming young lady the next morning at breakfast. Lovely clean and cosy bathrooms.
SOOO convenient
The hotel was great. Just a few steps from Notts train station, it is perfectly situated above the Starbucks. Staff were helpful, Luke was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. There is a bar for drinks and lots of choice of coffees. The room was comfortable, the bed was fine. Really good value for money needing somewhere to rest our head for the night for a concert. Continental breakfast the next day was great lots of choice.
Nothing to report. Could do with somewhere to hang clothes in the room (a hook) however there might be reasons for no hooks in the rooms who knows! There was an iron in the hallway of the top floor on the table above the stairs, I did panic every time I saw it thinking it could fall and clobber someone coming down the stairs (might be worth relocating before someone knocks it over!), but thats hardly a dislike :) Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
Perfect room spacious clean nice showerroom
Every thing perfect
Didn't spend anytime there very disappointing
Not clean the bed wasn't wat we expected
Lovely building, fantastic location. Great food.a d great value for money
The only.quibble is the automatic bathroom light which takes about an hour to turn itself off
