The room is very "barrack" like. It's perfectly adequate but manage your expectations. Room amenities change every time I visit. This time there we're only herbal teabags and no biscuits! A very minor thing, but consistency would be handy.

Great value, especially when it includes a sauna, steam room and breakfast.

Excellent value for money accommodation (think Premier Inn standard) in an unlikely setting. £66 for a room with 2 x full breakfasts is a steal! Was surprised how pleasant it was, and the grounds were spotless. Plus there’s a large free car park on site, unlike most other overpriced hotels in central Marlow (which is about 10-15 min walk away). Large comfortable room, with TV, tea/coffee making station. Great big bed, nice linens, plenty of pillows. Large bathroom and excellent shower pressure. The “Engine Room Restaurant” is a bit like a school canteen in appearance but the breakfast buffet choices were excellent, with well cooked hot food. Good coffee machine.

Check-in (after 3pm) and check-out (before 9.30 weekdays) times are a bit draconian IMHO. An hour leeway each side would be better, but that did not detract from our enjoyment of the place. Would definitely stay here again next time in Marlow.

Even better than I expected: 24 hour reception and a terrific cooked breakfast. I booked it for the location and was pleasantly surprised by what I found.

There was no WiFi password in my room which I only noticed after I’d got my PJ’s on. Limited evening meal options.

The location was excellent for our purposes. The room was a generous size with a lovely private shower room. Parking was free and very convenient. Breakfast was really good. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Our stay I hope was an anomaly. However, despite booking and paying in advance our room had been allocated to other guests, the first time we were given a key card which granted access to a room that was already occupied which was a serious security concern for us. We were assured this would be sorted so we went to the wedding we had travelled for only to return about 11pm to the news our new room had been re allocated. It took 45 mins to be allocated a new room with no guarantee of this happening, when we got to the new room and the bedsheets had splatters of blood, there was no toilet roll in the loo, there was no fan (it was during the heatwave)…the room just hadn’t been set up to standard. I raised a complaint about my stay and 4 weeks on it hasn’t even been responded to.

Spacious grounds, proximity to the river and beautiful old trees and slice of British history. Spacious, light and airy inside too.

Would like to see wider selection of fresh healthy foods available.

On our first night we were not in the correct room in the main building. We had a very small old room in one of the other building. We asked to be moved but were told there were no rooms available. They did move us to the correct room for the second night. They would NOT offer any refund which is really poor.

Clean and amazing sports facilities. Plenty of parking. Comfortable room and bathroom. Good value. Next to the beautiful Bisham Abbey. Not too far to walk in to Marlow. Loved the wall pictures of so many olympians.

The night light stayed on in room and was too bright. At 11.30pm I could hear noise that sounded like someone running on a treadmill. Breakfast simple at a good price but no veggie option. Aircon in breakfast room too cold.

We were in room 6...a disability room..so all the facilities were low down!! I'm 6 ft 4" tall and neither my wife or myself is disabled!! So why a disability room?

Location was great. Staff were great and room was as very clean and comfortable.

Sink was pretty much blocked. Shower door didn’t shut properly. Only one pack of biscuits in room. For 2 guests you’d expect two packets and maybe a bottle of water each.

Handy for Marlow, short walk into town. We didn’t make use of any facilities while we were there but my husband, who is a keen hockey player, enjoyed viewing the pitch. Also all the information boards along the corridors plus the history of the place. Room was very clean, had everything we needed and will definitely stay again when in the area. Breakfast service was brilliant too.

No Gluten Free options in room. Even though confirmed that GF items would be made available, only standard options in rooms and no coffee. We had to go to reception and ask for these items to be restocked but still no GF biscuits were offered.

Ein herrlicher, ruhiger Ort an der Themse. Köstliches Frühstück, Zugang zu einem Fitnessstudio und sehr freundliches Personal.

Important to understand that if you stay here, it is not a hotel. It is a corporate headquarters and as such the business of letting unoccupied athletes rooms is ancillary to the main business of the centre. Rooms are akin to university halls of residence and they are tired. Also, all rooms feature disabled access bathrooms, which do resemble NHS hospital facilities. With all this in mind, it is a good value stay, in a nice town. Parking on site is free too.

The Cafe was closed during our stay, so you are compelled to drive for food and provisions. You are eating breakfast, which is pretty good, in a cafeteria facility,with football camps and so on, so it is a b8f of.a scrum. The TV in our room didn't work, even after asking twice for it to be fixed.

The location is just a short drive from marlow. The sports complex is very clean as was the room. The staff were friendly and helpful, including those in the breakfast room.

Room cleanliness wasn’t great. We found a selection of ‘Adult Items’ left in our room by the previous guest. So the room hadn’t been properly checked. We handed them in at reception who seemed unconcerned about the embarrassment it caused. The breakfast room wasn’t very clean. Food on the floor on Saturday morning was still there on Monday and the tables weren’t very clean even when we were the first ones in.

The room smelt stagnant and damp, the rooms we're never cleaned neither was the breakfast area. Seats dirty tables not cleaned a truly disappointing experience 🙃

We have stayed a few times at Bisham Abbey and always enjoyed it. Clean, comfortable and excellent breakfast. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

We have always had an excellent breakfast experience at Bisham Abbey but not sure if they were short staffed or some other issue going on that morning. We arrived to find very little hot food, a little scrambled egg/poached eggs and a few slices of bacon. Practically no fresh fruit or juice. Only brown bread to toast. No plates or cups at the coffee machine. They did try to rectify the condition but it was a disappointing end to our stay.

The bed was two singles pushed together, not particularly comfortable. It should have been one bed, not a pushed together one. That isn't that comfortable.

The sports facilities

The accommodation is awful. It’s not a hotel and in all honesty it feels like the accommodation is a hassle for the venue. Changed rooms as door wouldn’t lock and toilet was broken. New room sink was blocked. “Fixed” and then it started to leak over the bathroom floor. Rude hotel staff (not the sporting venue staff, they were excellent). No continental breakfast all week. When asked if there was going to be got told “there’s a reason but I won’t explain why”… only to later overhear one of the chefs complaining that the other chef didn’t bother to order it so why should he?! This review is purely based on the accommodation and not the sorting venue. That was superb and the experience was amazing.

Room 32 wasn’t the best tbh - Dust on top shelves so clothes were dusty when put on ! Shower was dreadful - water squirted all over the place and pressure was poor so didn’t get a good shower at all ! Toilet had to be flushed twice every time ! Water in basin wasn’t very fast at all due to water pressure ! Breakfast was superb first 2 days but lukewarm on Monday & ran out of hash browns & sausages at 8.00 🤷‍♂️

Breakfast was good, however there didn't seem to be the full choice for residents who were later at the sitting.

The shower was tricky to operate. The pressure of the water was far too powerful and could be a liability especially for older people to operate.

Incredible venue located steps away from the abbey and the Thames. Room was clean and huge. Included breakfast was buffet style, with plenty of options to choose from. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. I didn't have enough time to use the facilities on offer, however, the sporting complex looked new and well looked after. Small cafe located in the venue for drinks and food / snacks.

I was hopeful for an early check in due to a nearby wedding to attend, unfortunately the room wasn't available until 3pm - not a big deal, no other complaints.

In the morning there was hardly any water coming out of bathroom taps and no electricity. So no shower, washing or brushing teeth possible. It appears from previous reviews that this situation is not a one off.

Location and not too expensive.

Breakfast (weekday) was supposed to be served until 09:00 but almost everything had gone by 08:00 with no replenishments; Very poor as no cooked breakfast nor fruits available almost an hour before the scheduled finish time. Why would this be the case as occupancy of the centre would be known. Also a power cut on Sunday morning meaning no/cold showers.

We came back on Saturday night (late) after being out all day to find our room door was open. It had been left on the latch, obviously the cleaner had started to clean our room and needed to leave the room so left the door on the latch but didn't take it off the latch once they had finished the clean. Luckily nothing was missing but it could have been worse. Reported it to reception on Sunday morning and they said they would look into it. Never heard anything back though.

It was very hot so it was great to be able to park the car in the covered area which was cool and secure. We left early before breakfast time so arranged with reception to have a grab bag left for us to pick up upon leaving.

I like that breakfast was included in the price. It was a short drive to Marlow.

There was no small fridge in the room. Pillows were too soft & flat.

Very good value for money. Staff were very welcoming. It’s a bit like a Premier Inn, although I think the rooms here are a bit bigger. The room we had was quiet and comfortable, breakfast was excellent. We were experiencing a heatwave while we were there, fortunately the room had a fan which cooled us down. Plenty of parking available. It’s about a mile out of Marlow, although there is a good pub (The Bull) about 10 minutes walk away where we ate one night.

The room was good. A fairly standard hotel room. The bed was very comfortable. The whole place felt bright and clean. I thought the breakfast was excellent. I particularly liked the fresh fruit available, and the toaster was probably the most efficient I have come across in a hotel. The bread toasted without needing a 'second go' and I didn't have to wait ages for it.

I didn't feel that anything particularly needed improvement. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. The most I could possibly criticise was that the poached eggs ran out!

The location and the grounds are lovely. The room was comfortable.

The room had not been prepared or cleaned when we arrived despite not being able to book in earlier. This was rectified and the room was then clean and comfortable. The gym on site was great and included but other amenities although told we're available came at a hefty charge eg tennis courts £29.

The smoke detector had a green light with a bright glow that kept me awake and couldn’t be switched off. No air con so in the heat the fan could only do so much.

Wonderful breakfast. Location but only because we were close to friends. This is a 20 minute walk to Marlow.

No air conditioning in rooms. No staff who could help locate extra fans. Basically a dorm room. Would not allow check-in even if rooms are ready without a 25 pound fee. The elevator was broken and no assistance with luggage..small tv screen.

Very impressed with the room, the gym and amazing sporting facilities.

We arrived after a long drive at 2.35pm and were told we could not check in for another 25 mins...it was hot and the cafe had just closed. As the place was extremely quiet...it would have been nice for the young lady checking us in to have bent the rules a little bit given the weather and the lack of refreshments available at that time (or keep the cafe open a little later to accommodate visitors arriving slightly earlier after long journeys).

The facilities was poor. They combined 2 single beds as a double and covered this with sheets but was uncomfortable sleeping. There was a power cut in the morning, and couldn’t have a wash as no water. So I had to find a place elsewhere to shower as i had to be in for work and this made me a late and also couldn’t have the breakfast which was part of my hotel package.

20 minute walk into Marlow, rooms were big, ample parking if you are travelling by car, and use of sauna etc while staying. Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast, it looked good.

Afstand tot centrum van Marlow. 30 minuten lopen is geen probleem, maar wel de onveilige weg die je moet wandelen. In het donker zeker geen aanrader.
