Great location. Bar closed at 10pm on the Sunday night we stayed which was good as we were worried about pub noises.

The shower heads needed some attention- both needed descaling. Rooms very warm (not in the heatwave) but fans were provided. There was a noisy generator outside our room - not on all night but when it came on it was very noticeable.

Staff were all very friendly and attentive, I just thought the lads all looked pretty scruffy for being at work, but this is simply casual, honest feedback.

Staff were lovely, bar was wonderful, cosy, warm & welcoming. Room was comfortable, delightful & relaxing. I had absolutely everything I needed & more. I will definitely stay again. I am looking forward to my next visit already, although next time I will definitely stay longer. Truly Wonderful & amazing stay in a fantastic location. My friends are excited to come & stay for a few weekends with me to, on my recommendation. Super excited for some girls weekends away in Marlow at the Chequers. Yay :-)

The room was really lovely. Everything that could be needed for a short stay. The welcome was very friendly.

A very minor gripe but the bathroom window needed some refurbishment. It’s a busy, noisy pub so expect the noise associated with that. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment.

Very hot day so fans already on in the room would have been great. Water and milk provided but they were room temperature and for that price I would have expected them cold and extras. There was also a band downstairs which meant a lot of noise until gone 11 which we weren’t made aware of on booking. Our room came with a free parking space on site, which would have been great if we had been told about it and could have used it. But we weren’t, so we didn’t use it and paid for parking. High price point so I would have expected some extra detail to make this stay feel worth the money.

Loved the location and the room was lovely. Bed very comfortable and really nice coffee machine and biscuits, which were a lovely touch. They had put a fan in the room due to the hot weather.

Shower was unusable. It only ran piping hot water even when on coldest setting, which in the extreme heatwave was unbearable. We told staff as soon as we knew before going to bed but no room to swap to. Told staff again in the morning but only apologised. We're busy with breakfast and didnt seem bothered. It tainted the stay not being able to have a cool shower.

Our room was incredibly hot and it was very noisy until about 00:30 with those drinking outside the pub - granted it was a Saturday night in summer but we were expecting somewhere quieter for the price we paid

Really nice place in the centre of town. Staff were friendly and they had put a fan and bottled water in our room to fend off the heatwave! Good breakfast and quiet despite the pub downstairs being busy.

Considering it’s a pub/B&B, it was very pricey, and breakfast wasn’t included. In terms of value for money, it’s significantly higher than what we’ve paid for similar accommodation most other places.

Excellent location in the middle of the town. Staff were so friendly, which made me feel really comfortable as a solo female guest. Breakfast was delicious, AND my room had A/C in the middle of the UK heatwave (room 6 only).

Location is perfect in the charming Marlow,

No air con, room temperature was above 34 degrees C, we left the Hotel and booked a nearby Hotel with air con.

Perfect location, right on the main high street. Staff were very warm, friendly, chatty and helpful. Room was pretty and comfortable. Great selection of coffees and teas in the room, with a coffee machine, kettle, and cookies! Really nice soap and shampoo in the bathroom.

Charming Inn and fun pub. Staff were great (had a few issues with the room but Victoria was very good in handling the situation). Location great too.

Could do with better lighting for shaving. There are no satchels of fruit tea or bottles of sparkling water. Could do with a mini fridge.

I booked into Chequers as i was spending some time with family who live in Marlow, I found Chequers to be central to the town centre.

The cleanliness of the room especially the bathroom was not good at all, the shower was not only filthy but was a complete waste of time. There was mould all around the windows. Also I was kept awake most of Saturday night by someone snoring in the room above mine.

Beautiful room, just perfect. Stylish, clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and it’s a great location.

The location is very central, it was clean and was perfect for a night stay.

The radiator was on really high so the room was hot. As it was a steel radiator, I couldn’t switch it off.

On checking in told they had live music both nights from 9pm to 11pm Room very noisy until passed 11:30 with music and loud talking. No sleep until noise gone

The room was quite hot. There was a fan but it was very noisy. The TV reception was patchy. There was damp in the bathroom.

The staff were excellent,. Food was really tasty - both dinner and breakfast. Room was good size with very comfy bed and nice big walk-in shower. Location very handy in the middle of Marlow - very close to river and park run. We stayed a friday night and there was a band playing - so the bar was nice and lively.

No parking on site - it was around 200 yards to nearest car park. Our bedroom (number 6) was over the kitchens and the fan noise from the kitchen was loud - luckily stopped at 9pm and didn't start until 7am. No robes in bedroom. However - all small things and we would definitely stay again

Great location, big room with great shower

Mould in the bathroom, and cobwebs throughout the building. Very loud fan/something to do with the pub started around 6.30am above our room.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a charming pub below the rooms, and we had a great dinner there. The room we stayed in was adorable. The bed and pillows were super comfortable, and our room had a clawfoot tub and a modern shower. PLUS- we had fresh baked cookies waiting for us!

The staff were incredible, so friendly and welcoming and really fun! We stayed here for my friends partners 40th and they looked after a big group of us from midday to midnight. We ended up staying as we were so well looked after, I did ask for the ladies name but lost the piece of paper, she was incredible! Thank you! The location was perfect for us, right in the heart of Marlow

My window opened onto a very noisy machine which intermittently turned on through out the evening.

The Hotels massive gain is the staff and absolute credit to the owners. Great atmosphere in the Bar / Restaurant. Room was very comfortable and quality bedding. Breakfast was delicious well cooked quality produce

The only negative is no carpark but parking was straight forward and very close to the Hotel. This would not stop me returning

The location was really good, staff were helpful and breakfast was great

The shower wasn’t cleaned properly.. it was full of limescale so water was spurting off in random directions. Plus the shower hose was very black and needed a good spray of cleaner and a wipe. Mattress was also very soft and hall light stayed on all night which shone through the door. Our room was by a generator too which made it too noisy to leave the window open.

Very run down room (room 2) Marks all over the walls making the room look dirty. Water marks and mold or dust in the bathroom all over the walls. For the high price we paid I would expect the attention to detail to have been higher.

Staff and bar offering was good. The room was decorated nicely and very comfortable bed and furniture. Excellent shower too. However the smell of damp/mould from the bathroom was a little off putting. The visible damp/mould in bathroom window area and edges of flooring needs some attention.

Bedroom was clean. Bed comfortable. Very small pillows. Breakfast was very good.

Room 3. MOULD in shower, grouting damaged. Mould on window ledge in bathroom. Bedroom window glass loose due to putty falling out. Sunday roast dinner at 7 PM very poor. Vegetables and roast potatoes were dry and desiccated.

Stayed overnight and the check in and check out was incredibly smooth. The staff were lovely and the rooms are great. Having the nice coffee, tea and fresh milk was an added bonus.

Situated in the centre of Marlow, a 2 minute walk to the river, lots of shops and bars nearby. Friendly staff and excellent service. The room was very clean and tidy, the bed really comfortable. Quite expensive but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.

We stayed in room 2. The room was spacious and we liked the decor/styling. The room had pretty much everything we needed for a short stay, the fresh milk in the tea/coffee area was a nice touch. The pillows had seen better days - very flat, not comfortable and we noticed in the morning, quite badly stained. Unfortunately the bathroom also really let it down. There were very obvious ventilation issues (you could see the water drip marks down the painted walls) and lots of discoloured grout/sealant around the shower. It was fine for one night. We arrived quite late and left early so didn’t really interact with the staff much but when we did they were helpful and the check-in/check-out process was efficient. Location is excellent for access to bars/restaurants/shops. The hotel does not have parking but there is a public car park a few minutes away.

Lovely staff. Comfortable room & bed. Huge bathroom. The only issue was that we couldn't sleep and as we had an early flight to catch, that was extremely frustrating. We accepted that there was a band playing in the bar and it boomed through the floorboards but thought it would quieten down after 11- 11.30. Unfortunately, there was no peace until 1.30 am from below and just outside the pub. They really need to warn people that at weekends, sleep may be challenging.

The location was great and our room and bathroom were a good size. The landlady who welcomed us was really helpful and friendly. The roast dinner was lovely.

We weren't told that the pub was due to shut on the Monday. Our baggage pick up service called us to say they couldn't get access to our bags. Luckily they eventually managed to get hold of someone to gain access. Also our breakfast service was less than ideal as the member of staff who was there did not seem at all happy. A shame really.

Establishments like the Chequers have to decide whether they want to be a live gig venue or a hotel. They can't be both. It's a form of fraud to market yourself as a hotel, where people can sleep and then have bands playing beneath bedrooms in an old building with zero sound insulation. Music went on until 12 am, and then the noisy clear up until 01:30 am, by which time I was too wound up to get to sleep. Felt exhausted all next day. Can not recommend as a hotel.

Located on the High St made it a great location for shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. And only five minute walk to the River Thames. Room was lovely. Vary spacious with plenty of storage. Bathroom was lovely with large walk in shower. We did not have breakfast but as we left it looked lovely. Staff very welcoming

Great feel to the place and everything you need in the room with brilliant walk in shower however…. Bed was way too soft and curved in the middle. Improved investment to the bed with top off an excellent stay where the staff where very accommodating to all needs ..we would recommend!
