Great location for everything including Hyde Park Room was great and very clean

Unfortunately we stayed during the 2 hottest days in June 2026 and although it was clear that there wasn’t any air conditioning in the room a fan was supplied but it was extremely hot in the room! Nothing could be done but I will definitely reconsider going again if it’s that hot again! Otherwise I would highly recommend it!!

Szép, kényelmes nagy szoba, jó felszereltség. A samponok es szappanok utánpótlása mindennapos volt. A személyzet nagyon kedves, segítőkész. A kontinentális reggeli nem igazan választékos, de bőséges és finom, jó minőségű. Tea viszont csak zold es fekete volt - ezt sajnáltam, eppen Londonban, az ember arra számít hogy teából legalabb bőséges valasztekot kap.

FRÜHSTÜCK - wenig Abwechslung - immer das Gleiche (Schinken, Salami, Käse, Toast, Aufbackbrötchen - keine Abwechslung) Wenig Abwechslung beim Obst - kein Gemüse, unfreundliches Personal - immer am Handy ZIMMER - Doppelbett zu schmal - man hatte das Gefühl runter zu fallen

We were upgraded to a lovely large room. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Great location so close to Paddington Station and beautiful Hyde Park. Handy connections to Heathrow.

There was nothing to dislike

We liked the location, the spaciousness of the rooms, the elevator, cleanliness and comfort.

We weren't clear why we would have to pay for the "complimentary" English breakfast because we hadn't "booked directly."

The location is perfect. Most of the major tourist attractions are in a walking distance. The building is very nice, with a true English spirit.

No air conditioning in the rooms, which was bearable, because we avoided the heatwaves, but in case of hot weather it might be very difficult.

Location was good, near to Paddington station. Amenities were not excellent, we didn't have air conditioning in the room and the temperature outside was hot during our stay. The room was clean. Breakfast was okay, we enjoyed the free English breakfast when booking online.

There is only one outlet in the room with the full sized bed which makes it difficult to charge phones and use the fan or TV at the same time.

The Darlington is one of many hotels in Sussex Gardens, but it's distinguished by very pleasant rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and terrific breakfasts which are included if you book direct. Perfectly situated close to Paddington Station and convenient to the Tube to get around London and see the sights, plus it was quiet at night and we slept well in the comfortably appointed room.

The staff were lovely and very friendly. The room was clean and we had all the basics we needed, including soap and shower gel. The continental breakfast was sufficient and we could have ordered the cooked breakfast if we had wanted. The checkout time was not too early and to be able to drop off or leave our bags at the hotel while we went out on our first and final days was really useful. It is a perfect location for walking anywhere in Central London or travelling to and from Paddington.

The fridge didn't really work and despite being given fans, the room was boiling as there was no fresh air coming in from the windows, due to the position of the room. The breakfast was fine but the tea was horrible! Probably the worst I've ever had! The staff were great though.

While everyone understands that there was a heatwave, it was impossible to stay in the rooms during those couple of days. No air conditioning, windows opening only a few centimeters. There was a standing ventilator in the room but too little for how hot was in the room

Front of house staff really helpful and friendly. Dining staff attentive. The room was basic with no air con. Fan provides offered minimal comfort. Bathroom we asked for accessible shower but given one over the bath with an incredibly high step. The TV is far too small for the size of the room. Quality of cooked breakfast was poor value for money. Location is good as close to station and Hyde Park. If we did stay again, it would not be in the summer as the room was uncomfortably hot and we did not sleep well.

・エアコンがない ・暑い日だったため窓を開けておいてくれていたのですが、2階の部屋で柵などもなく直に窓がオープンになっていたため防犯面で不安を感じました。 ・施設の設備は最低限という感じでした。

I had emailed in advance to check that they could provide a gluten free and dairy free continental breakfast. I received an email assuring me that gluten free cereals and bread were available and soya milk. We went to breakfast and met quite unhelpful staff who initially asked if my two daughters wanted white or brown toast. They then said they only had a few slices of brown gluten free bread which was duly toasted There were no gluten free cereals or soya milk available so they both had two slices of gluten free bread toast and a glass of fruit juice for £13. One of my daughters did ask for fried egg and was initially told that's an extra £3 which your lovely receptionist didn't charge us for on leaving. Considering the fact that they had so much notice (I booked ages ago) the breakfast for me was fine but so disappointing for my daughters. Had we known that no effort was being made to provide a reasonable breakfast for the price we would have not included it and bought something delicious and at similar cost else in London. We are all really disappointed with it. The coffee wasn't great either as it was cold. Sorry wouldn't recommend this to other GF/dairy sensitive folk.

Amazing location, about 5 minutes away from the Paddington Station which makes it very easy to get anywhere. The staff was nice and the room and hotel were very clean. Felt very safe while solo travelling and would recommend it for anyone doing it too. The only thing that was less positive was the lack of air conditioner, which made it difficult to deal with the heatwave. Besides that, I'd just like if there were a bit more breakfast options but this is just a small detail. Overall it was a very positive experience!

Room is small, probably would have felt roomier if the bed was placed in a corner of the room. I arrived during the severe heatwaves that hit London last week and could barely open the window the get any relief (the window was bolted in so couldn't open it all the way). No AC. I traveled for business so it was not as comfortable of a stay as I would have wished.

The location was perfect for attending a concert in Hyde Park and close to Paddington Station. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good.

De i resepsjonen var veldig hyggelige og imøtekommende mot oss. Og gåavstand til tog og undergrunn

Var der under hetebølgen og hotellet hadde ikkje aircondition, noe som gjorde det uutholdelig om kvelden/natten da det var rundt 40°c på rommet. Et annet minus var at det var opplyst ved bestilling av rom at frukost var inkludert, men siden eg hadde bestilt via booking.no var det «kun» tørre skiver med ost og skinke som pålegg. Savnet litt mer utvalg.

Room was small , hot and stuffy windows only open about 6 inches , never sweated so much in my life , booking said breakfast included but was only continental, full English is £13.50 extra , they did honour us a full English on the second day when they realised I paid £1200 for 3 rooms but breakfast was terrible , expected better for the price we paid

Posizione strategica. Vicinissima a hyde park, nei dintorni ci sono le fermate di autobus e di tutte le metro utili a raggiungere i punti di interesse. Struttura molto pulita e accogliente. Camere comode e dotate di tutti i comfort, bagni puliti e funzionali. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo per essere in zona 1 di Londra, inoltre è molto apprezzata la colazione inclusa (basica, ma è pur sempre qualcosa)

It was too hot and just one small fen, no air conditions, the price is high for the hotel no air conditioning Breakfast is included but if you book trew hotel you have English breakfast, if you want eggs you need to pay extra. Booked with booking it's just continental breakfast, why selection??? But it's just small complaint. I would like to go back but not when is 30C no air conditioning .

We had a great stay at The Darlington on our week long trip to London. We weren't sure what to expect given other reviews and knowing there was no A/C, but we were pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed our stay. The temperatures during our trip ranged from 68-80 degrees fahrenheit, and we were still reasonably comfortable, but did keep the fan running and windows open the entire stay. The rooms were a little small, especially with our large luggage, but we made it work. The complementary breakfast for booking direct was a nice option to have available every morning. We loved the area, very close to Paddington Station and Hyde Park, while also being on a quieter street that felt very safe. Our room was serviced every day and felt very clean. If you go to Ask Italian during your stay, make sure to let them know you are staying at The Darlington to receive a discount on your meal. Overall it was a great value & location for our stay and we would be back in a heartbeat!

Gute Lage, Bus praktisch vor der Tür, Paddington Station 3 Minuten entfernt. Ein klassisches Hotel inmitten unzähliger Hotels, für Londoner Verhältnisse geräumige Zimmer mit Fenstern, die zum Öffnen sind! 3 Einzelbetten, die alle gleichwertig und bequem sind. Ideal für einen FreundInnen-Trip. Obwohl Zimmer im Souterrain, ist es hell und nicht muffig.

Personal beim Frühstück nicht besonders freundlich. Achtung: Bei direkter Buchung ist das Full Englisch Breakfast inklusive. Sonst Continental Frühstück. Für 3-4 Tage okay.

Gute Lage, sauber und ausreichend ausgestattet. Koffer konnten problemlos zwischengelagert werden bis zur Abreise.

This was our second stay at The Darlington Hyde Park and will not be our last. We are super happy with this hotel. It's extremely close to Paddington Station which makes it super easy to catch the Heathrow Express to LHR airport. The front desk is extremely friendly and helpful. We always drop our luggage off early. Your stay includes breakfast. The rooms are clean with television and nice shower. Its a cozy place - feels like you're a guest at someone's house. We haven't been aware of outside street noise. Finally, for the area, it's always a great price. Food-wise - we had a nice lunch at the Sawyer Arms, pizza from Santa Maria and delicious gelato a short walk away at Amorino on Edgeware Rd. Previously, we've eaten Italian food at Bizarro's which is also very good. Finally, every time we visit, we spend a lot of time walking at nearby Hyde Park; and if we're feeling ambitious, we walk to Regent Park or Holland Park.

Early June the sunrise is around 5:15an and the bathroom curtains were not dark either nor covering enough.

Very handy location for Paddington station. The staff were excellent and the cleanliness amazing.

The whole place had apparently been recently painted and the rooms had a very strong paint smell which caused a bit of an issue with breathingas my wife is asthmatic. The bed was nice but the mattress was a very hard one .e. not to everyone's taste but I cannot fault the hotel for making that choice as it is a personal preference.

I had to cancel my reservation at The Darlington Hyde Park due to a serious medical issue that forced me to cancel my entire planned trip to the UK. Although I had booked a non-refundable Advance Purchase rate, Hotel Manager Dominika Gozdzik responded to my cancellation request with extraordinary compassion and kindness, processing a full refund without hesitation. In a world where policies often take precedence over people, The Darlington Hyde Park stood out for putting their guest's wellbeing first. That kind of grace and humanity is rare, and it has made me a loyal future guest. I cannot wait to stay there when I am able to return to London.

Not worth $330 USD for one night. Got in at 9 AM and were told there would be no availability for early check-in, come back at 2. Left our bags at least. When we did check in our room was in the basement. We could hear steps above us all night, creaking, and from the street you could look down into our window. Was a very warm night but couldn’t open the window for air because it did have stairs up to the street which weirded us out. No free water - had to pay a £ each for a water since there aren’t any close shops to buy one. TV remote was broken so couldn’t turn TV on. Hair dryer very low power.

It was so near to the tube station and the receptionist that was on duty was so nice. Restaurant area was lovely and bright

Sadly there had been a mix up which was my faultas I had booked the hotel twice we got refunded for one of the stays but unfortunately it was for the one that only had a continental breakfast. The lady said if we wanted anything extra we would have to pay individually for it. A slice of bacon was £3 which I thought was abit steep. But on the whole breakfast was fine although we did have to ask for more tomato sauce as the other sachets were out of date but as I say it was a lovely stay

Good hotel. Very good location. Easy to reach by public transport. A little old-fashioned though with carpets on the floor and two-tap washbasins. They charge 5 pounds per ítem when you leave your luggage there. I had never seen this anywhere else.

Everything. It is an old manor house and you can feel the history in it. It was very well kept and very clean. The staff was very friendly.

We have stayed at the Darlington before, quite a few years ago now, and were very pleased to find that everything was just as good as before. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfy and the breakfast was excellent! The location is perfect for us - just a short walk through the beautiful parks and you're in the centre of London. Also, it's very close to both Paddington and Lancaster Gate if you need to go further or the weather is bad.
