This a lovely quiet place to stay in Stowe. Pool, Sauna, jacuzzi and river view are amazing. Highly recommend.

Our sink was clogged but other than that everything was perfect.

It was a very beautiful place. Clean, modern, great location.

The only thing that we would have to usher to be different was the pool temperature. It was warm enough for swimming but not for playing with kids which was what we wanted to do.

Location is a great mix of downtown and the notch access. Stuga rooms are an excellent feature.

My Stuga was a little dirty in that the sink had bugs living in them (maybe fruit flies). The modern style bathroom can be silly. The water from the shower spills beyond the angled tiles and the sink to faucet gap barely allows one to wash their hands.

Location is fabulous! The hotel is great but we had stayed there 4 years ago probably after it was newly renovated and it could use a tiny bit of refreshing in the rooms now. The room this time was small but good. Had a king bed with a deck out the back. Last time we were lucky and the same category of room had a large footprint.

Room had coffee pods to use but no coffee maker/pot. It was a tea pot for just boiling water so that was confusing LOL there's a small room off the pool area that had tiny hand weights. would have been nice to add a few mats in there and maybe some more substantial weights for someone to have a quick work out.

Très belle endroit lit confortable et pour profiter encore plus la terrasse et un vrai plus honnêtement tres apprécier cette hotel dommage d'avoir eu un road trip charge j'aurais aime profiter plus du lieu tellement il est génial

The hotel is beautiful and has a great outdoors area including fire pits, games, a lot of seating areas and a hut tub. There is also an indoor pool that is heated and open late.

Originally we were put in a room that had a really potent musty smell, we asked to move to a different one. Both the original room and the new one were pretty small, mostly just space for a bed and a little boundry to walk around it. The hotel has no cleaning service, the beds are not made at any point in our stay and even the room trash isn't clear, they put new towels on our beds some of the days but did not change towels that were specifically left on the floor so they would be changed. At no point was it advertised or stated to us that there are no cleanings, the only way we found out this was by design is by actively asking the service desk.

My husband and I stayed in a king stuga for 4 nights. Loved the minimalist style. Great outside space, right by the river. We had a campfire one night and met lovely people. I liked having the kitchen for easy meals and snacks since eating out is so expensive now. The AC is only in the living room, and it worked well for us. Perhaps bring a small fan for the bedroom if it’s a really warm. Great location in Stowe. Ask for a cabin farther away from the main lodge, they are more private.

There is no coffee maker in the cabins, but there is an electric tea kettle.

Quiet, serene and comfortable.

The overall aesthetic was ok. Location was good. Backyard was very good. Room was clean. Bathroom fixtures were ok. Indoor pool was clean and well maintained. Filler to meet unnecessary response length requirements.

Hallways were dim and narrow. Room furnishings were low quality. Bed was uncomfortable. Room lighting was inadequate and confusing. "Private" patio was not private with no screens or fences. Road noise was significant. Hoped for an outdoor pool, and a better hot tub.

Very well centered in between the town and mountain activities.

You can’t bring your own alcohol outside when enjoying the facilities. They require buying their expensive drinks. Never been to a hotel/motel with that policy

El parque al lado del rio en el que estaba el hotel y al que al menos nuestra habitacion daba directamente. Los fuegos de csmpamento por las noches, todo este ambiente hacia del hotel un lugar con encanto, charmo que se suele decir. El tamaño de la habitacion bien y el cuarto de baño renovado y bien mantenido. No lo usamos pero tenia piscina, jacuzzi y sauna.

Nada que reseñar.

Nous avons été surclassé pour une chambre plus confortable, tout était très propre et bien équipé. Maria à l'accueil a également été de bons conseils sur les activités et les restaurants aux alentours.

Unfortunately the room we had Junior King suite , was starting to show signs of aging. Both the bathroom door and balcony door were rubbing in order to close. All the paint from the balcony was peeling off and constantly getting into the room.

The beds were so comfortable, it was local to great hiking spots and restaurants, and the outdoor hot tub with a running river beside it was spectacular!

The bathroom needed a bit more shelf space.

Pros: Pretty looking Nice view of stream Cons: Teeny tiny room. The 2 queen beds were pushed against the walls so I had to climb over my spouse to get in and out of bed No closets No Dresser drawers No place to place toiletries It took them 4 days to fix the TV OK hot water in am lukewarm in pm The refrigerator was so small that you couldn’t fit a half gallon of milk in it There was coffee but nothing else for breakfast not even rolls Almost no room clean up and towel sevices There was a false alarm that went off at 1:30 am on July Fourth. The staff was nowhere to be found for at least 15 minutes. I had to call 911 and the fire department didn’t show up for at least half an hour. The staff didn’t know how to turn their own alarm off and had to wait for the fire department to show them how to. We stood out in the parking lot for over an hour.

Bed was comfortable and free car charging was a plus. I did like the river next the hotel that we had a good walk because we only stayed there 1 night only. Free coffee in the morning was surprised. bathroom was clean and looking new which we liked.

The hallway from front desk to my room was dark and couldn't see things clearly. The room was smaller than I expected (2 full size beds), but it probably normal in VT vs. other places that we have been to.

It was very hot when we were there and the AC unit was only in the living room area, which made the bedroom quite warm for sleeping.

Le site est magnifique. On a profité du spa, petite terrasse, foyers au gaz et pit à feu. Quoi dire du site bordé par la rivière c est magnifique. Le personnel est sympathique. Les chambres sont rénovées, les lits confortables et la vue sur la rivière parfaite pour prendre le café le matin qui est disponible au Lobby

Rooms had a damp/musty smell, there was a significant ant issue.

There was no breakfast; however, the property provided complimentary coffee. The sauna and hot tub were a great enhancer, along with the pool, river view, and fireplace, both wood and electric were awesome. Great place to get pictures.

Breakfast would be a good addition. The corridor was on a dark theme, which looked fine, but a slightly lighter one might have given a better feel.

Very cute very quaint just out of Stowe. Cute pool and sauna came in the summer would love to see what this place looks like in the other seasons

Very unique experience with all the accommodations available. We enjoyed the large bench by the creek, the fire nook at night, and the hot tub.

Property was comfortable to walk around in the back. Loved the stream in the back of the property

Our room had a window to the next rooms balcony (weird if we would have laid in bed looking dire at neighbors). In room fridge did not work and desk clerk said maintenance not available until the morning.

I was very pleasantly surprised as I was traveling through business and needed a place to stay at the last minute. Beautiful location on the river. Check-in was quick, Marie, I believe, was very professional and pleasant. The room was clean and had a balcony, a lot more than I was expecting for the price I paid. Will definitely be back shortly.

The staff was very sweet and attentive. It’s a lovely spot with plenty of places to relax and being along the river is very peaceful. I enjoyed the pool and the hot tub and sitting outside on at Adirondack chairs. Many nice touches.

Second morning woke up to workers putting up a giant tent, messaged and was told sorry about the inconvenience. We only booked the Sturga for the view and it was more expensive, the last 2 days that’s all we could see. They had nothing more to offer, didn’t care. Also never told us how AC works, how to lock door, etc. poorly managed

The staff perfectly accommodated all our needs. (I asked for a desk since the room did not have one.)

Amazing place that is super friendly n clean! Updated modern fantastic place with alot of amenities to enjoy your stay, we had King Stuga cottage and it was the best 👌 indoor pool, sauna n outdoor jacuzzi was so relaxing by the running brook n super quiet 🤫 too, its the best place in Vermont hands down, don't bother going anywhere else, you wont be disappointed 😀 I give 10 stars if I could.

Television in our room did not work.

The location was optimal for hiking and food and drinks.

It was super loud at night. Guests on our same floor came in late and were really noisy. Our room faced the patio and so the lights don't turn off at night. That was super annoying. The sheet on the bed was too big for the size of the bed and would slip off of the mattress and bunch up. This may sound like a picky thing, but I think that having a sheet that matches the size of the mattress should be a no-brainer.

Completely enjoyed the opportunity to stay at this location. Everything was a wonderful experience and very convenient to both the village of Stowe & the skiing.

Slight musty odor in Galway’s and downstairs lounge. Everything purchased and charged to the room was marked up 20%. Bill listed this as a tip. When I say everything, that included a bag of popcorn. They served wine and beer at the front desk, nice option, but I would prefer the option of a gratuity jar where you get to pick what you feel is correct. I purchased a gift while I was there. I was glad that I didn’t charge that to the room, the purchase was $30 with 1.20 tax. Had I charged it to the room it would have takes on 6 dollars for an item I picked off a shelf, carried to the desk and paid for. That would be the equivalent of tipping someone for saying hello when you enter the door. Gratuities are meant for good service not for doing your job.

Staff, location. Coffee in the morning. Rooms up made everyday. Bathrooms are modern. Chilled out vibe. Nice hot tub with the rover flowing 100 feet from it. Best value vs. location IMO

Lights in room need to be updated. Have to go around turning on lights to make the room workable. Power strips are in the bed. Since I have to charge stuff each night not a big fan of electrical wiring attached to me bed frame.

My family kept talking about how CUTE everything is.

Perfect location for Stowe skiiing! Shuttle at the lodge. Great views of a River, fun common area with a lounge and fireplace. Pool, sauna and hot tub and deck/patio. This is our 4th stay and We will be back!

In the ads, Talta looks design-forward, but the accommodations are basic. We had a Studa (bungalow) that was tight quarters for three. I had called ahead about coffee setup in the room and was told that there was a drip coffee-maker. There was no coffee maker (there was coffee in tea bags) and none to be had. The TV offered limited service. But the place was sparkling clean, the beds were comfortable, and after an extra servicing, the heat worked well. There is no parking right at the Stugas. We had a fine stay but had expected better for the price.

No breakfast served there. Would be great if there were refrigerated breakfast options for purchase that can be microwaved or continental style.

There was a dog staying next door. The guests in that room left the dog for the evening and it barked for hours. If you are going to have folks with dogs, you should remind them that the animimal cannot be left alone (unless they get a room that is far off or a cabin?). It just put a damper on our evening as we were trying to sleep to get an early rise for skiing.

Beautiful location very convenient everywhere. Great couples or family getaways. We absolutely love it.

I can’t say anything bad

The vibe, the pool, hot tub and sauna. The room was nice and the bed was comfy. I like that I had a patio and could walk directly to my truck from my room.

Super helpful and friendly staff, wonderful amenities, and a beautiful property! They have entertainment almost every night! I’ve been staying in Stowe for almost a decade and this was our first time to Tälta but certainly not our last! Probably the best property we’ve stayed at so far!

There was no breakfast. Coffee was ok. The bench at the foot of the bed almost caused a terrible accident. My husband stubbed his toe and almost fell head first into the wall!

A picture I saw showed 2 chairs in the room. We did not have that. It would’ve been nice

We loved the stuga at Talta! Staff was so friendly, room was amazing. Great size, bright lighting, perfect kitchenette, plenty of privacy. Bed was very comfortable. Hot tub, pool and sauna were great especially after a long day of skiing! Bar in the basement makes great cocktails!

They,be done a brilliant job of remodeling an old motel. All the decor additions are natural and soothing and weirdly Finnish (in a good way). Rooms are Scandinavian decor. It’s like they chose carefully where to spend the remodel money, and where they decided to make the investment they didn’t skimp. Beds are very comfy; there’s not a lot of decoration on the wall. You get the picture : max functionalism, streamlined decor. I thought the result is great.

We love staying at Tälta. They are dog friendly and we love the vibe. The staff is so nice and welcoming! They are close to Stowe ski resort and have a bus stop to get to the resort right outside their parking lot if you don’t feel like driving to the resort.

Booked for 2 nights but only stayed 1 night due to bad weather conditions and needed to head home early. Hotel was perfect for the 1 night. Did not have cable TV which was a bummer as the Winter Olympics were on.

The walls in the hotel were soooooo thin. People walking and talking in the hallways kept me up and prevented me from getting a good night’s sleep

My son and I had an amazing time staying at Talta Lodge! Here’s what we really liked: Location – It’s about 9 minutes from the mountain with no traffic. Even when there was traffic, it only took us around 20 minutes to get there, which is still totally doable. The hotel has a very European-style vibe — no wall-to-wall carpet, thank God! Great amenities too — I especially want to point out that the sauna gets really hot, the way it’s supposed to 👍 Tip: You have to turn it on yourself since it’s on a timer. They also have a boot-heating room! The room was nice and clean and had everything I needed. I was pleasantly surprised to see two robes :) A lot of people wear them around the pool, sauna, and hot tub — it honestly made it feel like we were at a spa.

Close to mountain

I had the best time at Talta! The vibe is fantastic and affordable! The staff is informative and wonderful! I loved the Yoga room for stretching after skiing. The sauna and jacuzzi were also helpful for this 61 year young body! The downstairs was so social with families fun and my favorite DOGS! Such a great atmosphere and so so close to the mountain! Definitely going again.

My sister and her husband also stayed there and got scammed by a booking company that mimicked Talta Lodge. She paid 65$ more for the same kind of room as us, with no recourse. She did get a slight room upgrade as compensation, but would have preferred a partial refund! Then she was charged 15$ more at check-out for more fees from the hotel. The staff said they have no control over this racket! It really coloured her experience.

My main issue/concern centers around the thin walls. Our room was the first off the lobby and we could hear guests walking in and out of the hotel, their boots stomping, talking, etc. Additionally, our first night, the music in the lounge was advertised as going until 8pm but it went on until 10:15pm. It was very loud and we could hear it in our room upstairs. Overall our stay was very nosy and, unfortunately, we will not be staying here again—especially considering both the very expensive price for the room and the fact that our trips to Stowe involve at lot of activity and getting a good nights rest is vital. A few additional items to note: - On our last night, the water in the shower didn't get hot enough. I had the dial turned all the way and it was just warm. - The bathroom and room could also use more tables/places to rest items like toiletry bags, purchases, decorative pillows, etc.
