Nice room Good breakfast Enjoyed a late nightcap in their very small bar with some fellow guests
Our room was on a down stair level and had some difficulty getting our cases up and down the stairs (the fact that we were visiting from Australia and had luggage for our 4-week trip probably made this more of a challenge than it would be for other guests)
Friendly and helpful staff, good large comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast to start the day.
Nice room and comfortable stay
No Breskfast included for the price paid for the room
Size of the room and how clean it was
No fridge in Room and a bit expensive without breakfast.
Staff was super helpfull
A lovely spacious room The bed was large and very comfortable The bathroom had a large power shower and a bath/ the towels were large and very soft Cooked Breakfast was excellent
Perhaps better double glazing as we could hear some traffic noise as it was close to the road
Großes sauberes Zimmer, freundliches Personal, nette kleine Bar.
Everything was clean and nice Staff was very cooperative
I liked everything
Belle chambre spacieuse. Parking à l hotel.
Friendly staff, central location, comfortable room and delicious breakfast
Room was suitable and had a very comfortable bed. Great socket locations and perfect for the job
It was perfect for an overnight stay or even a little longer. Comfortable and very good restaurant food. Easy parking on site.
Lovely hotel just a few minutes off the A1 Easy to find and plenty of parking Quick and easy check in then shown to our room (3) which was beautiful and looked newly renovated We had a room to the rear but that suited us as it was very quiet Lovely heavy curtains kept out the light Bed and pillows are the best we’ve ever slept in - so comfortable and plump Shower room was also newly refurbished to a high standard Shower power wasn’t the best but we did appreciate that it’s an old building and we are led to believe that the owners are looking into this small issue a pre ordered breakfast next day was delicious and freshly cooked Breakfast cereals , yoghurts , juices were also available Dunbar itself is a lovely town with a working harbour which we enjoyed watching with a coffee We will most certainly be back and will stay at Dunmuir hotel without a doubt
Breakfast was nice, local produce, served by helpful and friendly staff.
This was a great find of a hotel.... staff are so friendly and welcoming. Bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable. And the food is outstanding.... spoilt for choice! Highly recommend and 5 minutes off the A1. Will definitely be back when next working in this area. Thank you
Quiet, comfortable, full service, great restaurant.
We had a basic room which was compact, but had everything you need. Bed was a good size. Mattress and pillows a little hard, but ok. Bathroom also small. Shower not very powerful, but clean and tidy.
Clean rooms, fluffy towels.
Pre scheduled breakfast order & time isn’t relaxing for a family weekend away with kids. Delayed train meant arriving 7 mins past 11pm which was met with a huge sigh when I called in advance to explain.
Cute little hotel with modern amenities! We had a great night stay. Loved the location and the little town of Dunbar.
Nothing, it was fantastic
Bit of a curate’s egg. Very comfy bed, but distinct lack of drawer storage space if staying several nights. Large shower, but low water pressure an issue, lovely towels though. Breakfast choices were fine, however pre-ordering a bit of a throwback in an hotel environment. Staff in the main were helpful and attentive. Good location, near the station and easy access from A1.
The staff are amazing, so helpful the food is amazing we came on the Sunday and got a roast brilliant
Nothing really,a wee five minute walk to the town but overall nothing bad to say
Staff were friendly, good location,clean
Given wrong bed, booked a twin bedroom ended up with a double, being a 2 male party this became very uncomfortable and couldn't be resolved
breakfast
Love everything the stage are really friendly and welcoming the food is excellent

Great Manager and staff. Delicious meals. Comfortable rooms.

Stayed at this hotel as a centre for a golf trip. Absolutely fabulous for value for money for golfers. A fabulous double room was provided looks like it’s been refurbished. In the dining area everything looks brand new. Food excellent including breakfast and dinner.
Clean, location and car parking
Die Lage, gemütliches Zimmer und Bett. Dunbar ist jedenfalls einen Besuch wert :)
Für ein Hotel durchaus ok, aber ein sehr kleines Bad in unserem Fall (wobei nicht alle so sind, laut Plan)
Really responsive manager and the team were really helpful and friendly. Great dinner in the restaurant. Really lovely little bar area before dinner. A very short and beautiful walk into the high street.
I had a single room, and the mattress could do with an update- it creaked all night and was not my most comfortable night in a hotel.
Everything, very friendly
Nothing all great
Easy to find, off road parking, dog friendly, very clean and comfortable, the layout of the building was very quirky, good choice for the optional breakfast
Nothing to say here except our room was very warm but to be fair the weather was very hot
Lovely breakfast at a very good price
being forced to decide whether to order breakfast whilst checking in. It was a case of order right now or never
Comfortable stay, in a wonderful wee town. Good service and food.
Friendly staff Beautiful room
No drinking water in tap in bedroom. Fridge in reception had no water available.
Room was clean, comfortable bed
The Dunmuir hotel was recommended to us as a stop over on a long drive down from Wick in Scotland, it did not disappoint. The reception was welcoming, the room was absolutely wonderful and eating in their restaurant was fabulous. So pleased we stayed here.
We loved this quaint 3 star hotel! It is small (24 rooms), with a wonderful intimate feel. The staff work at least three jobs at the front desk, and the charming bar and restaurant. A hot Scottish breakfast is included and served at the time you specify. The rates are lower here than hotels North Berwick as it is slightly less central for golfers, however you can take the 120 Bus into North Berwick in 45 minutes, or drive in 25 minutes to golf the courses there, and there are two course right in Dunbar. The Transpennine Express train runs from Edinburgh Waverly train station into Dunbar station, a short walk from the hotel. You can walk to the harbour and most restaurants are within a kilometre. The bus stop is 240 feet from the hotel. Dunbar is the original home of John Muir, a revered figure in this town. Don’t miss his museum.
Superb large room with super comfy bed. Room had everything required for a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. Hotel has an excellent restaurant with great menu choice and lovely freshly cooked food. Also a very comfortable and well stocked bar. Highly recommended for anyone looking for accommodation in Dunbar or looking for good food.

The hotel is a nice change from the usual big chain hotels. The interior has retained a warm, cosy and welcoming feel. The room was clean, tidy and well equiped, but above all, it was comfortable with no noise from other guests. The little bar area is great for relaxing at the end of the day. On our arrival the check in was spot on and the staff friendly and welcoming, very likely we will stay there again when we visit the area in the future.
Nothing
From the moment we arrived, everything was great. The staff helpful and friendly, the room clean with everything we needed and the food delicious. It was ideally located for the local tourist attractions. I would visit again if in the area.
Nothing.
We went for our anniversary dinner. Had a fantastic evening . Staff friendly and informative, nice atmosphere . The food was outstanding we had the pollock and duck breast . Duck melted in my mouth. For afters had the Paris Brest with ginger ice cream. Perfect way to finish meal . Would highly recommend .
Nice enough hotel and close by for work requirements
The restaurant wasn’t open and there was no water in the room. Breakfast wasn’t included and was expensive .
Property was comfortable, clean and easy to get to. The toiletries were stocked up daily and the staff were all lovely and very attentive! The breakfast is to die for!
Nothing!
Our family is tending to make a habit of lunches at this Hotel's restaurant, and yesterday was no exception. This time we were celebrating two 'significant' birthdays - a daughter and a granddaughter. The restaurant did not let us down and we once again enjoyed a superb lunch at a leisurely pace fitting for a Saturday afternoon. In terms of the menu, I can only really comment on my choices - King Scallop for starters, Beef Cheek Bourguignon and Vanilla Rice Pudding for dessert. All were impeccably prepared and presented, and I was very happy with my meal. When asking round the table, everyone expressed a very high level of pleasure - including my son-in-law a professional chef. I think the secret of a really good restaurant is the cooking to order. Yes, one may wait a little longer for the food to appear, but the wait is worth it - and encourages conversation around the table. We all loved the lunch and thank the Hotel staff once again for making us so welcome. From Front-of-house to chef, the standards remain high. Incidentally, the hotel also welcomes (well-behaved) dogs, as we have previously experienced - this time the dog stayed at home. I cannot comment about the hotel itself as I have never stayed there, but the fact that the local paper was reporting the gaining of AA awards last week, may speak for itself. Congratulations to you, and please keep it up.
Room was very comfortable, free parking on site & comfortable bar area. Excellent dinner & breakfast. A short walk to the beach & harbour. Worth staying.
Very convenient for our route. Clean and comfortable.
Best hotel in Dunbar by a mile..1st class in every aspect from the warm greeting from reception and if your lucky a greeting from max the family Dalmation, to the food and fantastic rooms.Breakfast always cooked to your taste and nothing is ever too much to ask of the staff.cant wait for our next visit. And if we can't get booked in then we just dont go. Keep up the hard work and mire awards will be on their way
Fantastic stay at the Dunmuir.. great location for dog walking on the beach.. Rooms comfy, clean and quiet. Great breakfast. Staff helpful and friendly and dog was welcomed..
Staff were so friendly, both at reception, in the bar area and throughout. They also made a big fuss of our young dog which was lovely
Only drawback was the room felt slightly dated but was still a good standard and the bed was very comfortable
Always clean, staff are great. Best hotel in Dunbar.
Very pleasant and fairly priced dinner with friends. Staff were warm and accommodating, food whilst relatively simple was well prepared and the whole is well kept. Its a small pleasant town and this is a small pleasant hotel in an area decidedly short of good places to eat. This fits the bill well.
The staff was very warm and friendly. The hotel was very clean. Best experience in the restaurant, very talented Chef
I could hear some crack on the ceiling when other customers above walk and or move
Excellent service and a very comfortable stay. The team was professional and helpful, ensuring I had the double bed I requested. The room was spotless and well maintained. It was also very convenient to have on-site parking available.
Lovely hotel - We stayed here a couple of nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were good fun and very attentive. Rooms are recently refurbished and beautiful. Restaurant is also fabulous Great value.
Good central location with plenty of free parking. During booking and in person all staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. On arrival, my room was upgraded from a single to a spacious double, at no extra charge, as there was no other person requiring it. The room was clean and well decorated with all expected consumables; it had good lighting options. Bathroom contained electric shower over bath which had very controllable / stable temperature and variable spray head. Very enjoyable stay.
All good; my needs met better than at some of the more expensive locations I've used.
Dunmuir Hotel is a very pleasant AA recommended small hotel in Dunbar with a good restaurant for dinner and also serves an excellent full Scottish breakfast! This was ideal for my overnight stop on the way to the north of Scotland. The room had a comfortable bed and ensuite bathroom which gave a good night's rest before continuing the road journey in the morning. Dunbar is an interesting place in which I had not stayed before, and would hope to return at some point, having just time to look at the town, and the view from the old battery out to sea, after checking out, before resuming on the way north.
No problems for me with the overnight stay as a single traveller in own vehicle.
Room was clean and warm, shower was hot, free tea and coffee in the room
The bed creaked every time I turned over, and was so uncomfortable. Door to the room could be up graded for security with spy hole and more than just a chain
We were booked to stay for three nights but unfortunately had to leave a day early due to illness. We ate at the restaurant for both nights and husband reported that his food was excellent and to quote " THE best cheese and biscuits he has EVER had"! I had a starter both nights and they were very good... The mussels were plump and tasty rivalling our home county of Norfolk..... Praise indeed!! Breakfast was freshly cooked and the doggie sausage was a nice gesture...a truly dog friendly place. My only recommendation would be to dispose of the unsealed, refilled marmalade and jam jars... I understand that it might be a cost saving but it isn't a good look! Far better to invest in a nice bowl and bring out with the toast on request. Also upgrade your jam! It's the little touches that will earn that 2nd award that is so richly deserved 👍🏼 Staff were great, Wendy in particular. Very personable. The only slightly negative was our room was very small with very little storage so felt cluttered. All in all, great VFM and we would definitely stay again. Thank you
Lovely hotel - room was stunning staff were very welcoming- thoroughly recommend
Nothing!
rooms were very clean and neat. breakfast was served to us almost immediately and orders werer always taken the night before. dinner was also amazing could not fault anything with the hotel.

Nothing to dislike
Neat the sea
Was nothing we didn't like.
It's in good location
Rooms are very small and not friendly
Noisy
The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We were upgraded room as soon as we arrived, at no extra cost. The bed was huge and very comfy.
I would have preferred a bath rather than a shower, but otherwise I wouldn't change anything.
We stayed here for 2 nights mid house move. Lovely clean period room with everything we needed. Dinner was fantastic and service exemplary., with special thanks to Wendy! Thank you!
Location, lovely property
Location staff and food room comfortable and clean and we had a sea view
Room a little cold although radiator was going full blast there was quite a draft from window.
Staff were friendly and attentive, good location and excellent food.
Nothing, everything was great
I really liked the continental breakfast which was of excellent quality and included porridge. Nice room. Friendly and helpful staff.
Nothing. All good!
Very clean & modern - rooms great / staff lovely and friendly and helpful - can’t fault it

A excellant well run hotel, all staff friendly and helpfull, food first class,as was rooms and cleanliness.Ironing board ,iron ,hairdryer and good hospitaliy tray in the room, and toiletries supplied.
This was our second stay at this hotel this year. It has been very comfortable on both occasions- lovely big rooms, friendly staff, comfy beds and fluffy towels, great breakfast which is reasonably priced and lots of options, including catering for gluten free. We have family in the area so will be staying again whenever we come up for a visit. Highly recommend!
