The food was a bit disappointing, as my partner had to re-order her food as it was too spicy for her, and the second attempt, the chicken wasn't cooked properly so she didn't have anything to eat. The staff did offer to cook her food again, but by this time, she didn't want to eat anything.

We had an exceptional stay! The staff were brilliant, the rooms and facilities are gorgeous. Extremely pleasantly surprised.

The room was veryyy clean, the mattress was like heaven, the sound isolation was 10/10 (we've literally never slept better). The staff was extremely welcoming and professionnal: there were a lot of small touches and attentions that made this trip excellent and we were blown away by how hospitable they were, especially when we told them it was a birthday trip. We felt like robbers for how luxurious the experience felt for the price we paid, it was wayyy worth paying a little extra compared to other hotels in the neighbourhood. The breakfast was delicious, and there were quality alcohol-free options.

There were a few logistical issues that, although the excellent client experience staff went well and above to solve and apologize for, did bother us a bit since we dealt with them several times.

I requested and paid for a birthday package as an extra for my partners birthday celebration, which was done perfectly and some added small touches. The staff were welcoming and finally & the assistant manager also greeted us on arrival and departure, she was lovely and helpful. We used the spa facilities and this was a great experience, head there early when it opens as it can get quite busy from mid morning onwards and it’s quite small. Otherwise a great stay and we would stay again. Thank you

Beautiful, fancy reception area and bar with friendly staff. Our room was lovely too- I LOVE that they have a water refill station on every floor! Amazing location.

Breakfast was disappointing. Very small selection and they didn’t have enough food or the ability to keep up with how manically busy it was. I ordered scrambled eggs from the a la carte menu and they just took them from the buffet (which was cold). Coffee was self-service from a cheap machine- not what you expect from a 5* hotel. The spa area is nice but way too small for the amount of guests. It was always overcrowded and not a relaxing experience. They didn’t clean our room despite us having the sign on. For some reason they came in the evening while we were out and only made our bed and emptied the bins? No replacing of used glasses, coffee mugs, towels etc.

Hotel for a 5* should not be a 5 star hotel. The soa needs attention. They need maintenance work. Maybe I could do all the maintenance work for them. But for being a 5* hotel I was not happy at all.

Petit-déjeuner très riche et varié. Emplacement au nord de la "City" assez pratique finalement pour visiter Londres. Personnel très sympathique et serviable. Espace détente très bien équipé (piscine, sauna, spa, bain turc). Chambre bien équipée, avec une vue superbe si l'on dispose d'une chambre dans les étages supérieurs.

La climatisation dans les étages est trop forte; il n'est pas nécessaire de maintenir une température aussi basse. L'interrupteur principal dans les chambres est mal placé : il serait plus commode qu'il soit à l'entrée de la pièce plutôt qu'à côté du lit.

I really enjoyed my two-night stay at Montcalm East Hotel. The hotel itself is beautifully designed and very aesthetically pleasing, with a lovely atmosphere throughout. The staff were also incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

There were a couple of issues during our stay. Unfortunately, the Chromecast on the TV wasn’t working, so we had to use a Fire Stick instead, which was a little inconvenient. The heating in our room also wasn’t working, which was unfortunate, especially during the night. Aside from these issues, everything else was really good and we had an enjoyable stay overall. I would definitely consider staying at Montcalm again and would recommend it to others.

One night stay celebrating our anniversary and hubby's birthday. Booking online was seamless and great communication via messaging service. The special request was far beyond what we expected but it made our stay amazing. We used the jacuzzi and pool - so relaxing. The facilities were very clean and towels and water were available. The room was good - great skyline view and there were buttons for everything! Even underfloor heating in the bathroom and night lights. My husband liked the taps of still and sparkling water that was freely available in the corridor. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast - lots of good cold and hot options. Overall a great stay and would highly recommend. Special thanks to Jay.

Water pressure in the shower cubicle could have been better. Grouting in the shower needs to be cleaned and on the shower head some of the holes need to be cleaned. The handheld shower was leaking slightly at the attachment. Although these were minor things it had no impact on our amazing stay.

The staff were exceptional in that they had decorated the room perfectly for an anniversary, really added a lovely touch of romance to our stay. Petals on the bed, and some little extra treats really made an impact! Oh, and the prosecco on welcome was a lovely touch.

There wasn't really anything we didn't like - we overheard conversations about the Spa being out of use, but that didn't really affect us as we didn't plan on using these facilities this time round. All in all, little to complain about!

The complimentary room upgrade was such a lovely surprise, especially so soon after our wedding! We arrived to rose petals, balloons, wine and popcorn, which made the stay feel really special. Amazing service throughout. Great location! Old Street Tube Station is within a short walking distance, Shoreditch is around 30 minutes away, and there are plenty of restaurants, supermarkets and pharmacies nearby. The spa facilities were lovely and a great way to unwind during our city break.

Our key card repeatedly stopped working, meaning we couldn’t access the lift or our room on several occasions. Reception sorted it quickly each time, but it became frustrating having to return to reception multiple times. The Jacuzzi wasn’t working, which was disappointing, although we appreciate these things can be difficult to maintain and it didn’t take away from the overall experience.

Swimming times for Children! Didn’t say, when booking, on Booking.com, that Children could only use the Pool at 7-9am or 3-5pm, so really not convenient times, and had a very disappointed child, due to this, as was turned away. Perhaps it’s says on their main website, but we didn’t know this, so spoilt the stay a bit, as was the whole reason I booked this Hotel.

Think breakfast could be better. More options for made to order and the buffet food needed to be hotter. The spa is also not what you’d expect from a 5* hotel. Staff were miserable and my massage therapist was clearly inexperienced. I bought a package which included a glass of fizz and I had to remind them of it. Didn’t get shown round as you’d expect and they just seemed like they couldn’t care less. They then have the cheek to try and charge you 12.5% service charge on top of what you already paid for.

Multiple days we did not get room service. We used the "no room service" one day and we had 4 days in total where we asked for service on the 4th day.

Lo staff sa come trattare i clienti, con aggiunta di piccoli dettagli che fanno la differenza. Le camere sono ditate di ogni confort e con un design davvero accattivante. Abbiamo apprezzato tantissimo la coffee station in camera.

La spa era un po troppo rumorosa per via di alcuni clienti, in generale l’atmosfera non era super rilassante, mancava un pó di musica di sottofondo e la jacuzzi era guasta.

The property was in a fantastic location and the staff where amazing especially Hashi (Assistant manager of Guest Experience). She ensured that our stay was very easy and straightforward whilst showing the upmost respect and professionalism. All the amenities where very well kept and rooms where very comfortable with lists of light.

Only small complaint the jacuzzi was out of service when we went but it didn’t bother us too much. Also there was a strange noise in the room periodically not sure what it was.

The sky high room felt considerably overlooked by another building that it felt uncomfortable to keep the blind open. There was no way to control the temperature in the bathroom, nor a way to block the sun from lighting the bedroom through the frosted bathroom door

We found all the staff so welcoming and proactive throughout our 2 night stay. I mentioned on the booking it was my wife's birthday and there was such a nice surprise in the room when we walked in. Very minor point that ordering from the menu at breakfast wasn't great - both mornings we had to ask to order. Overall though, one of the best hotel's we have stayed in at London and reasonably well priced. Thank you to all of the staff.

Hotellet i sig kan beskrivas som tämligen flådigt. Eller som jag hörde en annan ung besökare beskriva för sin mamma då vi väntade på hissen: "This is the fanciest hotell I have ever stayed in". Hotellrummet var mycket trevligt med en väl fungerande AC och bekväma sängar. Personalen var mycket behjälplig med vad helst för fråga vi kunde tänkas ha. Frukosten var trevlig med en bra buffé plus en extra fruktosträtt som man vick beställa från menyn. Vi stod oss bra för större delen av dagen med den början.

En utav hissarna var problematisk och registrerade inte kordet när man skannade det. Ett problem som upplevdes utav ett flertal besökare under tiden vi var där. Hotellet kände till problemet, men det hade inte kunnat åtgärdas under vår vistelse. Det är troligtvis bara en tillfällig sak som inte borde vara återkommande för framtida vistelser. Det fanns ett flertal andra hissar att tillgå, så det var inte något oöverkommligt problem.

Brilliant. Stayed for 4 nights and was pleasantly impressed. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed with attentive and kind staff, we ran into a slight delay on arrival however we were taken care of by the staff and 40 mins later we were relaxing in our room. The rooms are spacious with luxurious finishes and very clean and comfortable beds. The tech in the hotel is admirable with powered curtains , under floor heating in the bathroom and a neat control panel controlling the curtains and all the lights in the room. The hotel is run by exceptional staff who are professional warm and friendly. They ensured that we were looked after and any issues were resolved. Breakfast was exceptional the buffet food was excellent 👌 and the variation was great. There is a menu that we ordered off of which is included in the breakfast and the American pancakes were delicious ( I’d recommend asking for syrup as the yogurt that was served was too much) but overall breakfast was brilliant The spa was great facilities were excellent and clean however on our third night there was an issue there was a problem with the jacuzzi which left me with sore eyes. However after reports staff were swift to react and ensured that everyone was okay and compensated accordingly. However staff even the morning after were checking to ensure we were okay. As a surprise the hotel even put balloons and petals and even a cake in our room for my birthday ( I would like to thank all the staff for arranging this as it was a really pleasant surprise) Overall this hotel delivers on all aspects of my expectations although slight issues I still had an excellent time I would definitely stay again! Note: location is central only 2 stops from King’s Cross.

The bed was so comfortable and the touch screens were super easy to use. Spa area was nice if crowded and noisy. The shower was really nice with good water pressure. Air conditioning was a soothing balm in the heat. I’ve stayed at more expensive hotels that were a lot less nice. Altogether a great property if you wanna be in/near Shoreditch.

Nits in context but 1) as an autistic person, I wish timing of cleaning was more predictable, although I will say staff were very accommodating when I complained that they were still in my room at 6 PM 2) I had to go downstairs to get my Deliveroo, which is pretty annoying considering the whole reason I got it was I wasn’t feeling well.

We vonden het jammer dat er geen bier aanwezig was voor de minibar. Van zo een chique hotel verwachten we dit wel. Ook 1 x zelf moeten bellen om kamer schoon te maken en toen was het al avond.

The staff were tremendous as were the facilities and location. We came back to the hotel on our first night to a bag of treats to welcome us. The room was spotless and bad everything including toiletry packs, ironing board, cupboard space, coffee machine etc. All small little things that make a trip much easier. The location was perfect too.

Our 5 night stay at the Montcalm East for our family was OUTSTANDING! We had 2 Junior Suite Rooms, and from the moment we checked in with a very customer service oriented agent Adel who effused charm and courtesy we had a perfect stay. The breakfast selection matched the hotel - simply OUTSTANDING. Deborah, one of the breakfast coordinators, was wonderful. We stayed here after a fantastic Disney Cruise, where everything was perfect, we experienced no reduction in service during our stay at the Montcalm East!

Prince at the concierge desk is incredible with genuine energy! He provided some excellent recommendations, and when he found out it was my birthday, he was so gracious to personally deliver goodies to my room. Many thanks and major applause to Prince for his kindness and generosity!

The location was great, the room was lovely, the pool was a really nice addition and the breakfast was delicious. All the staff were warm, friendly and super helpful.

There was a fan noise in the room that ran all night. I don’t think it was the a/c but maybe central ventilation? We definitely turned the A/C off. It was noisy and a bit annoying to sleep with when used to silence. Slept with earplugs but could still hear it! We were at the end of the corridor on the top floor so not sure if it is was just really noisy because we were at the end of the floor, maybe other rooms further up would be different.

Took 30 mins to check in, I don’t understand why she kept asking me if I had received a payment link and I told her it’s not the case, it took another 20 mins to find a room.

I had an amazing experience at this hotel! I stayed for an extended period while my daughter was studying abroad, and the staff made me feel comfortable and welcome throughout my entire stay. A special thank-you to Hashi at the concierge desk—she was incredibly sweet, kind, and always willing to help. Her warmth and excellent service truly made my stay even more memorable. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

From the moment we got to the hotel they were so friendly and welcoming. Considering we were there 4 hours before check in time they kindly had a room ready for us. It was my partners birthday and they decorated the room with balloons and sweets and a free bottle of wine! The staff on the reception couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. We used the pool on last morning which was great. Our room was spacious too. So clean and really modern. Shoreditch as an area is great too with lots going on. This will definitely be my new go to hotel when staying in London. Thanks to all the staff

We had a lovely stay overall and really enjoyed our time at the hotel. A special mention has to go to Martin, who was absolutely fantastic throughout our stay. He was friendly, approachable, and always happy to help with any questions or issues we had. His excellent customer service really made a difference and is a credit to the hotel. The only downside for us was that the hotel is completely cashless and doesn’t accept cash payments at all. It would have been helpful to know this in advance, as not everyone wants to rely solely on card payments. Despite that, we had a great experience overall and would happily stay again. Thank you, Martin, for making our stay so welcoming!

Super luxurious as we had what would be considered a basic room. There’s nothing basic about it! Not only that but the 12pm check out is great too

We managed to book in just before their systems crashed, this left lots of queuing angry guests in the lobby to navigate around.

From when I entered the hotel everything was 10/10. The receptionist that greeted me her name was Sarv and she was amazing. She made me feel so welcome and she was so nice. The hotel is amazing, not far from anything. I will be coming again!

Great location, 5 min walk from Old Street station. Just one change from Elizabeth line if coming from Heathrow. Beautiful room, staff are great and I think for London reasonable for money. Easy 10 min walk to shoreditch - which has shopping, bars and restaurants. Will be back!!!

House keeping was poor. We stayed 12 days and on many occasions rooms were poorly done. A couple of times not made at all despite calling. Shower gels or hand gels missing, not enough towels etc. Clearly there is room for improvement here.

We booked 3 twin rooms and they were great, although the picture in 1102 was rather disturbing so we covered it with a towel. The breakfast was excellent. The location was good and the pool was nice

The check-in was extremely slow then one of the rooms was given the wrong key. We checked in at 1pm and left our bags in one of the rooms. When we went to collect the keys later for the other two rooms, this also took ages.

I had to abandon my previously-booked hotel as the A/C was broken on an extremely hot day. This hotel was wonderfully cool. They made great efforts to find a room for me- thanks especially to the female staff member who saw that I had no energy left for schlepping around London trying to find a room. Lovely bed, bathroom, and a proper Nespresso machine. The room was a cool oasis on a hot day. Decent gym. The delivery of earplugs for my family member was much appreciated. Swift and friendly room service. We didn't have breakfast. The area is very central, mostly felt safe. Would definitely return.

A lovely underground oasis from the noise and stress of central London. It’s a great place just to relax, recharge & revitalise yourself with a bit of well earned pampering. The staff are friendly & highly professional. The facilities are spotlessly & well maintained. It’s a bit of a hidden gem only a stone’s throw from Old Street Tube Station. If you deserve a bit of pampering then a definitely recommend a visit!
