Cost too much for what it is. Small room, street noise woke us. Needs to have lower prices and what is this facilities extra charge? Ivwould not go back.
Great hotel with a perfect location. It was clean, and the service was excellent. Also, there’s an employee named Antony who was amazing. We came back to the hotel very late one night, and he was so kind, welcoming, and helpful. He really made our stay even better.
Stay away. Budget motel service and amenities.
Our room in this hotel had no bathroom at all. The toilet and the shower were separated from the main room only by a flimsy semi-transparent glass door panel. If I wanted to urinate or defecate in privacy, I had to leave our hotel room, go down from the fifth floor to the first floor lobby, and use the men's room next to that lobby (which, although it was a semi-public restroom, had far more privacy than our hotel room's did). Another 'feature' of our hotel room was that the sink and mirror were outside the tiny non-private pseudo-bathroom in which the toilet and the shower were placed. It was impossible to completely clean oneself without coming out of the 'bathroom', and impossible to do all the things required to clean one's body in a single properly enclosed space. Literally any decent American chain hotel room from the 1960s had a better-designed bathroom than the 'bathroom' we had in this hotel. As the Wall Street Journal described in January 2026, this style of 'bathroom' has become fashionable among high-end hotels: https://www.wsj.com/lifestyle/travel/hotels-bathroom-no-doors-8cb4bf96 But it is a stupid, miserable fashion. The sooner that all hotels like this one can be sneered into reversing their decisions and shamed into regaining 1960s standards of bathroom quality, the better.
Came here for a staycation and had mixed feelings about the experience. The pool area was nice, but the room itself was very small, and there was no separation between the bedroom and bathroom areas, which made it feel less comfortable and private. The biggest issue was the customer service at night. One of the water bottles in our room appeared to have already been opened (which is a separate issue) so I went down to the lobby to ask for water. The man at the front desk told me there were no bottled waters available and directed me to the water dispenser, which either wasn’t working or was empty. When I told him, he said to ask the bartender for water. The bartender was busy helping customers, and there were several people already waiting to be helped. Since it was late and I was frustrated, I went back to the room and called housekeeping for water, but I believe the same employee answered the phone. He told me water bottles were only provided at check-in — even though we never received any — and that I would need to purchase them. After I explained that the bottle in the room appeared to have been opened, he asked if I wanted housekeeping to bring water up, but in a very rude and dismissive tone. Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of customer service. I was simply trying to get water, and the interaction felt unnecessarily difficult and unwelcoming.
Great location. cool lobby bar. rooms are small. lacks basic amenities like in room coffee, glasses, lotion. bed was not comfortable due to lower quality linens
-The water (tab, bath) feel oily and unpleasant. This must be checked. -No coffee in the room or the lobby - how can one start happily the day. -Charging automatically, daily, for pool and gym (we did not use them) is totally unfair. -If you don't specifically tell them to clean the room, they will not do it.
I often stay here when I am in town for conferences or workshops. It is a great, clean location that is quiet but still accessible to foodie areas like Lake and (a bit further) the more touristy areas of Colorado Boulevard and Del Mar (by Castle Green, etc). The staff is very friendly, the decor is beautiful and there is both a fitness gym and a pool. The parking is also very convenient and safe. This hotel is a hidden gem and very much worth the value for money!
This is my fourth time visiting California and it was such a memorable and enjoyable experience! Location in the heart of Pasadena, staff are friendly and accommodating. The ambience was very warm, cozy, and the rooms were nice. The whole experience felt very personalised. Special thanks to Anthony, he was very helpful and attentive! Highly recommend for anyone looking for an easy getaway. We’ll definitely be back.
Great place to stay and I am leaving a review for Mr.Anthony. He is a very generous kind young man. I will definitely come back
Lobby of the hotel has a great aesthetic. I wish I could say the same for the room's aesthetic. All contemporary furniture. We had the king room with partial pool view. The room was literally...a room. There was no separation between the shower/toilet area and the rest of the room. There were frosted glass doors for the shower and toilet. And that's it. They were completely exposed to the rest of the room. Wasn't expecting that. The pool itself was great (and the main reason why we were there). However, there were many things that weren't so great. - Only had an attendant serving drinks Fri-Sun until 5:30p. If you want a drink on a weekday, you need to wait until the bar in the lobby opens at 4:30p to get your own drinks. - No attendants to clean up after messy guests. Got to the pool mid-afternoon and there were cups and beer cans littered all over the place (the ground, planters, tables). No one to clean up after the lazy guests, so there were a bunch wet towels on the lounge chairs throughout the area. It makes it hard to tell what lounges are taken. - Not sure if the lack of staff is due to the season though. The food we ordered through room service was great. Service was excellent when calling in our order and the delivery. Our room had a little tiny balcony. I wish there was a small table and chair out there, as the views were great.
Wonder stay close to my son wedding venue and everyone was nice friendly the coffee was awesome and friendly service.Thank you
There was a clump of hair on the wall in the shower for 3 days, after I’d very calmly just asked them to clean the bathroom. (There were other toothpaste spots and dirty windows too). By day 3, the concierge didn’t believe me that it was still there despite me showing a photo from 5 mins earlier. They wanted me to watch someone clean the room (very demeaning solution!), they wouldn’t move rooms, they kept showing me a photo of another part of the bathroom to show they cleaned it. I was very specific, told them exactly what the issue was and where and it wasn’t cleaned. There were other aspects of the room also unclean, but I didn’t even bother trying. It was gross. They offered me a $50 credit, but I just wanted to change rooms and feel like it was clean. My brother lives next door so it’s ver frustrating that I now don’t want to stay in the closest hotel available.
Hotel Room was super small. You have to request housekeeping, or they won't do it. No complimentary coffee in room. Hotel does not have a business center. Hotel charges a mandatory facility fee of $13 per day for the pool, even if you don't use it. Hotel parking is $29 per day. The added taxes exceeded my allowed itemizations on my expense report. All the additional fees and add-ons took away some of the fun of staying at an iconic hotel. Neighborhood is great, very friendly and walkable, even at night. I enjoyed my stay despite the tiny room and the extra charges.
Had great difficulty getting my room serviced. On two separate evenings I requested room service for the next day. Neither time did the room get serviced.
We were annoyed when we arrived after 1:00 p.m. and were charged $25 to access our room early. A charge applies if you stay later than 11:00 a.m., too. The beds were nice, as were the pillows. We didn’t get to use the outdoor pool, as it rained the entire weekend. It’s 1.5 miles from Old Town Pasadena, located in the Theater District.
I was disappointed with my stay at this hotel. While the rooms were clean and the location was convenient, the staff’s attitude overshadowed the experience. From check-in to check-out, most interactions felt rushed and dismissive, as if guests were an inconvenience rather than a priority. Simple questions were met with curt responses, and requests for help were brushed off. Hospitality should make you feel welcomed and cared for, but unfortunately, that warmth was missing here. With better staff training and a friendlier approach, this hotel could be great, but as it stands, I wouldn’t choose to stay again.
Difficult to actually add pets to booking. And no way to add two pets prior to arrival. The bowl and tent advertised were for in hotel use only and were not even provided anyways. Pets must move through common spaces quickly and directly. No reliving area. Pets not allowed on furniture; this is common, but with such small rooms it is a big challenge. Housekeeping must be requested the day before, not day of. White socks were dark brown after walking around for a few minutes. Only two towels provided.
Easy to park and drop off
Housekeeping could have been a lot better. For two days we asked for our room to be cleaned. All they did was accept the trash when I handed it to her and change the towels.
Beautiful hotel. A hotel this nice should have some type of lounge or dining options.
There wasn't a coffee maker in the room. No dining options during the day. Coffee was horrible. And it's only out till 10:30 am.
Our stay at the Pasadena Hotel was wonderful. The Hotel lobby is as eclectic as it is lovely. The staff attentive and kind. Our room was wonderfully decorated and had a fabulous bath tub. More than spacious with multiple seating spots and a fabulous view of Angeles Crest Mountians. I thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool in October. Will make it a routine stay when in the Los Angeles area.
Good location to walk to Old Pasadena, lovely lobby with a few games, nice pool area. Room a little on the small side. The glass panel in the shower didn’t bother us. It was totally frosted. Very clean hotel. Staff were lovely

Uima-allas oli mukava lisä. Sijainti rauhallinen. Parkkihalli kätevä
The bedding and pillows were super comfortable. The shower and tub were nice, very clean, and stylish. The staff were friendly and attentive.
Location, room, gym, pool
No coffee maker or kettle in room.
Beautiful lobby & pool
No coffeemaker in the room. Electric vehicle chargers broken.
All
It would be desirable to provide free parking. very expensive
Good, clean room in a central location. Hotel is picturesque and has been renovated nicely. Everything worked as it should.
Since we're already paying nearly $250/night for the room, having a $29/night fee for overnight parking is a bit excessive. Especially since the parking structure was almost empty.
Beautiful property! Everything about our trip was amazing. We loved the location, the room, the staff - absolutely everything!
No complaints :)

The aesthetic
I didn’t like that there wasn’t a coffee pot or microwave in the room.
Breakfast was very good. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
Room was available for early check-in, friendly staff, historic aesthetic of lobby, clean rooms, delicious breakfast burritos and coffee at the independently-owned cafe by check-in.
Thin walls, somewhat scratchy sheets, very few amenities, and overall a little rundown compared to photos. The hotel bar doesn't open until 4:30pm and closed before midnight. No pool service, although there is a QR code you can order from but I didn't try it. The pool was the biggest disappointment. Lounge chairs were stained, towels were thin and rough, and there was no water available. The hotel did not feel worth it for >$300/night and I would not return.
Loved the vibe, comfort and location!
Very welcoming front desk staff. Love the lobby, it's decorated very nicely with plenty of spots to sit. My room was a nice size with a large bathroom which I appreciated. The pool area is nicely laid out and a relaxing spot. The parking garage is easy to get in and out of. I discovered BBA for an easy breakfast option right out of the lobby entrance. It was THE best, breakfast burrito I've ever tasted!
I was surprised that there was no small coffee maker in room for 1-2 cups as you get up.
Beautiful facility and very professional and personable staff
We couldn’t stay longer :)
Pool however it was very crowded on Saturday
Disgusting hotel. Woman who is working in the lobby extremely rude. She put me in a room with sink which doesn’t work. And when I called about it they wanted me to pay more money to upgrade. When the room was already 1.200 for 3 nights. Disgusting amd don’t recommend to go there. Never coming back.
Great location, super friendly staff, and beautiful building.
Super Lage, viel Restaurant und sicher

The most comfortable beds
The hotel had not gotten my reservation from booking.com. When we arrived and even though I showed my confirmation email. It too for ever to check in.
Clean and updated new looking rooms.
They need to do a better job at cleaning the rooms. I found a several hairs in my room. Including on the bed and in the bathroom.
Charming. Love the art deco
No coffee machine in room
$75.00 pet fee. Parking fee should be waived.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quaintness of the hotel, the decor and ambience was wonderful. We will definitely book here again!!
This is our second time staying at this hotel! It’s so cute and i love the location. Nice getaway. The rooms are very nice and have their own flare. Parking is safe and secure. Walkable distance to downtown. I will book again for sure.
The walls are thin, our room was closest to the street and we could hear people talking, yelling & cars zooming by. Also we noticed the green carpet stained our socks. So not sure how clean the carpet is. Felt a little gross.
This was our second stag at this property. It’s a historic building; the architecture and interiors are gorgeous. The rooftop pool is clean, peaceful. Staff is so helpful!
The beautiful landscaping could use some upkeep. Trees trimmed, dried vines cut back. This did not diminish our stay, just a picky point.
The pool was great!
It was so loud in the room at night. Neighbors having a very loud party. Could not sleep. Security did respond when called but it was really annoying at 1am.
Great hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We really liked the roof top pool! It was a vibe. But if I'm being honest, for $400 a night, I couldn't believe how small the rooms were. We got a double bed room because there were 4 of us and it was a really tight squeeze. It was also pretty inconvenient that the parking was in a lot with multiple levels and it had no AC so when we got there we were dripping sweat. The hotel was nice. But I feel it was very overpriced.
Yay for hiring Matt!
The front desk receptionist, Daniel, was sooo kind, considerate, and helpful! We booked the wrong date, and the booking was not able to pick up the call for a date-change request. Daniel suggests we just book a new stay and file a free cancellation request, which he approved right away! He saved us the time to run all errands and even arranged a late check-out for us. The location is perfect (5-minute drive to world-class Asian restaurants) and the room is clean and comfortable. Nice view of the Angelos National Forest from my window!! Self-parking right at the hotel's basement with security. Top-rated lodging for those who wanna stay in Pasadena!

Great lobby and room. Excellent location.
I went to the pool area a couple of weeks ago, and honestly, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. At first, I let it go, but now that I’m seeing an upcharge on my credit card that I never authorized, I need to share how bad it really was. The pool itself is tiny compared to the pictures online. It feels cramped and nothing like the “luxury” experience they advertise. For how overpriced everything is, you’d expect a relaxing and enjoyable time, but instead it was a mess. The front desk told me pool bar service ran from 12 to 6. In reality, service started much later and ended way earlier, which was frustrating and felt misleading. The bar was disgusting messy, disorganized, and unsanitary. The staff was made up of two women who were drinking on the job, chatting away, and taking forever to serve guests. When something went wrong or they didn’t have something, they just name-dropped a “manager” instead of actually solving the problem. The drinks were awful. Inconsistent every time, either watered down or so heavy-handed with alcohol that they were undrinkable. I saw the two women behind the bar doing this not just with my drinks but with other guests drinks too. Instead of making a good cocktail, they just dumped in liquor and gave you a cup full of booze with a splash of juice. What I wanted was a tasty, well made drink not something sloppy and careless. And now, weeks later, I see a charge on my card that looks like I was billed extra or had a bigger tip added without my consent. That’s shady and unacceptable.Between the false advertising, the lazy and unprofessional female staff, the dirty setup, the shortened service hours that didn’t match what the front desk promised, the overpriced and inconsistent drinks, and now the overcharge on my account, I can confidently say this place is not worth it. Do yourself a favor and avoid the pool area altogether.
This hotel is in a great location in Pasadena. It was easy walkable to lots of restaurants and shopping. We also walked to Old Town (about a 40 minute walk). I also really liked the lively lobby and the lovely decor. The courtyard is quiet and a nice place to gather. The hotel bar was also nice. That being said, here's why I'm uncertain if we would stay here again. As other people have mentioned, the rooms are extremely small. These are New York style hotel rooms and so space is at a premium and you need to stay organized. I would not recommend this hotel for any more than two people in a standard room. I originally booked a corner street facing room thinking we would have a view of the street from two angles. Although it was a corner room only one of the window was accessible as the other window was above the bed. The main issue with our street view was the overnight noise. At 4am we were woken up to someone screaming and using revolting language. At 4:30am there was the noise of someone throwing heavy objects into a truck. This went on for 30 more minutes. We changed to a pool facing room for the rest of our stay and it was much quieter. I highly recommend a room facing the pool to avoid the street noise. One thing we both liked was the shower. There was excellent water pressure and the water got really hot. The bath robes and hotel toiletries were also very nice. This is also the first time I've ever stayed at a hotel that doesn't offer complementary coffee to guests either in the room or in the lobby. The hotel does charge an additional mandatory daily fee in addition to the room charge (resort fee). The fee is for the pool, phone usage for local and long distance calls, and wifi. Most people have cell phones so I don't know who benefits from this extra charge and it seems odd to charge an additional fee to use the pool. I probably wouldn't have cared as much if it at least included coffee and so we feel that we got at least some benefit from the additional hotel charge. There were lots of places near by to buy coffee and I eventually realized that they also sell coffee at the lobby bar (Philz coffee shop nearby was some of the best coffee I've ever had it was definitely worth the long line-up - it's also inside a beautiful courtyard). For the most part, I found most of staff to be professional and friendly. This is definitely one of the hotels I'm not sure I'd stay at again but all in all it's not a bad hotel so long as you know what to expect in advance.
Lage Nähe Warner und Universal. Pool.
I loved how it was both historic and contemporary. The pool was great for longing on a Sunday afternoon. Staff were friendly, food was great and we ate in a beautiful lush courtyard. The room was very cool and the bed linens most comfortable!
Nothing.
The staff was very friendly. Exceptional service by Adriana at the bar and breakfast area.

Location it's great. I didn't hace the opportunity to enjoy any meal at the hotel, but across the street there are good options.
I wish they had coffee makers in the rooms.
This was the nicest and best value-for-money hotel that I stayed at during my LA trip. Absolutely brilliant facilities and the staff were very kind and friendly. The room was immaculate, with a stand-alone bath and mountain views that were like a postcard. The views looked even better as a backdrop to the pool area which was a decent size and well maintained, in terms of cleanliness and towels. The hotel was about 10 minutes by foot from the nearest Metro station, with shops and restaurants very close by and then about 20 minutes walk away from the old town. I would unquestionably book here again!
A beautifully remodeled old property. Very nicely appointed and a great value. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will stay there again!
Very clean and nice property. Check in was super quick and simple. Appreciated the pre check in email as I was able to book early check in which was perfect timing for our arrival. Would stay again if headed to the Rose Bowl.
Great location for us. Friendly staff.
Rooms are small yet sufficient.
Loved the “vibe” and the whole look of the building
No place to really get a drink or something to eat when we wanted to. No privacy in bathroom/shower
