The beautiful room and the calm

The exterior of the building as well as the lobby is very impressive and tidy. The rooms were impeccably clean and the staff were excellent. We were originally only booked for 2 days but enjoyed ourselves so much that we added a day.

I honestly don’t have a criticism about our stay.

The room view was beautiful.. we had the balcony and lake view .. sitting watching the sun set was so lovely or the morning sun rising having my morning coffee checking out the weather ahead of us .

Sometimes others beside us on each side would occupy the balcony .. I would give them the privacy .. which sometimes felt .. awe too bad maybe later 😕 but the next time we had pur privacy which was exceptionally awesome.

Honestly, it is one star too many, and the only reason I am granting a second star is because of the lovely ladies at the front desk who welcomed us at check-in. The rest of the hotel is a disaster.The moment you walk into the lobby, you are hit with a pungent, chemically fresh smell. It is a penetrating stench of chlorine that leaves no doubt a swimming pool is nearby. While the lobby looks somewhat modern and up-to-date, the illusion shatters the second you step into the rooms.Looking into the hotel’s history, it was built in 2001 and I’m sure it was a decent place back then. However, their so-called 'renovation' in 2017 was clearly nothing more than a superficial face-lift. They threw some modern paint, trendy vases, and fancy ottomans into the lobby to trick you upon arrival, while completely leaving the rooms stuck in a late-90s or early-2000s time warp. It’s all smoke and mirrors.Comfort is non-existent here. There is no actual air conditioning, just a pathetic, ancient ventilation system. The controls are hidden away in a dark corner of the room where you can barely see them. Worse, if you actually want a normal room temperature like 21°C, the system roars to life. It literally sounds like someone parked a diesel pick-up truck right next to your bed, making it impossible to sleep. To make matters worse, while the room supposedly offers a lake view, you can barely get any fresh air; the only thing that opens is a tiny window of about 60 by 40 cm, and it only opens on a tilt.Navigating the building is an absolute test of patience. The elevator moves at a glacial pace. I actually timed it: it takes a whopping 1 minute and 12 seconds to get from the 4th floor to the lobby, and 28.6 seconds to get from the lobby to the 3rd floor. This slowness became infuriating when my keycard failed to work. After two useless attempts to reactivate it, the lock had to be completely reprogrammed, forcing me to ride that agonizingly slow elevator up and down repeatedly.If you hope to drown your sorrows at the hotel bar after dealing with all of this, forget it. The bar closes ridiculously early.To top it all off, the internet speed matches the elevator. The Wi-Fi here is so excruciatingly slow that it will probably take until 2027 before this review actually uploads and shows up on TripAdvisor and Reddit.The front desk staff are great, but they are the only good thing about this place. They honestly should just rip the word "Prestige" right off the facade of the building, because there is absolutely nothing prestigious about this hotel. Given how much they charge for this experience, the value for money is terrible. Avoid this place if you value your sleep, your money, and your time.

Very nice room with two queen beds, but still enough room for a couple of chairs and a long table/counter. Fridge, microwave, kettle, nespresso machine, are all out of sight below the counter. Bathroom was great with side by side shower and soaker tub. Lots of counter space. Several hooks. Decent hair dryer. The window opened a little, which was nice because I really don't like AC all the time. Many outlets and charging ports at different places in the room. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful about opening up a room where guests store e-bikes. I never had to wait more than a minute for that to happen. Nice pool, partly indoors, partly outdoors. Good hot tub, and it has an adults only hour. Better than average fitness center with good equipment, like at Planet Fitness. Everything in working order. Although I didn't bring my dog, the hotel is dog-welcoming, and there were plenty of well-behaved dogs around all the time.

I didn't like the bed. I generally like more support than that mattress offered. But not everyone is like me and I'm sure many people would love the bed.

Location was perfect for accessing downtown and the lake. Really clean and comfortable. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.

Very nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Social bar/dining area showing the World Cup soccer match we wanted to watch. Great views and easy access to walk along promenade.

What a beautiful hotel, and a perfect location! Lots of extra amenities and free bikes and paddle boards for use, which was lovely.

The staff were all so helpful and kind, however our waitress at the Brewery restaurant downstairs was horrible. Food was great but we almost left because of how bad the experience with her was.

We booked a lake view with a balcony and got room 431, which had great views over the lake. The decor was a bit old-fashioned with a lot of brown including the carpet and one wall. Large, comfortable bed, large taupe leather sofa, couple of chairs, unit with fridge, microwave and kettle. Plenty of sockets and USBs and WiFi was okay. Large kettle, small mugs. Air conditioning was efficient but very noisy. The bathroom had a bath and separate shower (but not great water pressure), brown striped wallpaper and brown tiles. Nice to be able to sit out on the balcony with a choice of chairs or loungers. Breakfast was disappointing: bacon meh, eggs weird - very little pale yolks - and good potatoes $55 including tip. Location was excellent: overlooking the lake and a wildlife refuge but a short walk in to town. Note: only one slow lift for all floors, often led to queuing.

Only stayed for a night but wish we had longer. Room was lovely but the view onto the lake was beautiful. Wish we had the time to go out on the water and use the facilities of the hotel. Good value for money too.

I’ll start by saying this hotel is beautiful. The lobby is very inviting, and we really appreciated the complimentary bikes, paddle boards, and kayaks available for guests to use. One disappointment was that the hotel does not offer breakfast. At the very least, it would be nice if breakfast were available at the hotel restaurant for a reasonable fee. I was also disappointed that my status as a top Best Western Elite member was not acknowledged. Unfortunately, this seems to be an ongoing issue I've experienced with Best Western/Prestige Hotels. The hotel is quite expensive, so we used our points for the stay. I was surprised that a room costing around $300 per night only included two queen beds and a patio. For families or couples who prefer not to eat out for every meal, it would be much more convenient if these rooms included a kitchenette. We decided to upgrade to a two-bedroom Executive Suite for an additional $95 per night, and in my opinion, it was well worth the cost. We would have easily spent more than that dining out as a family. The suite included two separate bedrooms, a spacious kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, a dining table and chairs, a comfortable living room, and a large bathroom with both a tub and shower. The patio was huge, with plenty of seating and a beautiful view of the lake. The only thing I wish the property had was a proper beach area behind the hotel instead of the swampy shoreline. That's simply a personal preference, but it would make this hotel even better. The pool and hot tub were excellent, and my kids loved the indoor/outdoor pool, although the water was a bit chilly. The hot tub definitely made up for it and was nice and warm. Parking does seem limited for the number of guests the hotel accommodates. We went out on our second day and returned around 9:00 p.m. to find the parking lot completely full, so we had to park across the street. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and polite. However, one front desk employee with brightly coloured hair could have been more approachable, as she seemed irritated whenever guests asked questions. Overall, we had a good stay and enjoyed many aspects of the hotel. With a few improvements such as offering breakfast, acknowledging loyalty members, adding kitchenettes to standard rooms, and addressing the parking situation, this hotel could provide an even better guest experience.

Highly recommend this property, there are free bikes and kayaks for guests

The staff is great, very helpful and friendly. Restaurants were good and servers awesome. My only complaint is, if you get up early there is no place to get a coffee. No complementary coffee in the front area you have to wait until 7:30 until the cafe opens. Every prestige I have stayed at and almost every hotel has had coffee early. Small world problems I know but there is also no coffee shops close either. Just found that strange.

Great room, lots of space. Good facilities. We enjoyed hiring the EBikes to explore the lakeside. Easy access to the town.

A HUGE thank you to the team at Prestige Harbourfront!! Not only did they make our stay very special but they were genuinely kind and helpful. Unfortunately there had been a mix up (due to booking.com) regarding our stay but the team found an immediate resolution and nothing was too much trouble! The rooms were spotless and the view from the balcony room over the nature reserve was beautiful! We only wish we had had a longer stay!! 💜

The hotel was a perfect stay during our road trip to the Rockies. The room was very comfortable with great views across the wetlands and lake. The restaurant and bar was a welcome benefit. Wish we had planned to stay longer…

The location is absolutely amazing! The slightly higher cost for a lake facing room is really worth it - what a view! We saw so many birds from our balcony. The swimming pool is also nice and clean. The hotel has a nice breakfast cafe in the same building with friendly staff who gave us some good tips for sightseeing. Hotel is walking distance from downtown Salmon Arm including a supermarket, brewery and coffee house. The lakefront trail is literally next to the hotel and is for sure recommended. There’s turtles in the water and lots of birds and even beavers.

Dissapointed with the food. My wife had a bento box. The salmon was overcooked. The chicken nuggets appeared to be out of a box.? My ling cod fish & chips were heavily battered & overcooked. The additional 4 bucks for a caesar salad was a waste. It was very lightly dressed & not great!

We had a balcony outside our room which we couldn’t access. However it could be accessed by next door and the maid could see into our room. Very weird!!

Kahlen at the front desk was fabulous. From the moment we arrived she was kind, funny, attentive and very aware of our needs and wants. She was actually the main highlight of our stay and we hope the management realizes what a gem they have with her. We would stay again just because of Kahlen. The room she gave us (city view) was also excellent and very quiet.

On a busy long weekend as it was when we stayed, the parking was barely adequate. We managed to get the last spot when we came in from visiting family around 9pm thank goodness. More parking appears to be necessary.

The view was great and the location was perfect. It was an easy walk into town to attend an opening of an art exhibition and over to the Barley Station for dinner. At dusk we walked out to the wharf and watched the grebes perform.

It was not possible to adjust the room temperature to a cool enough level for a more comfortable sleep.

Locatation was a bit tricky to find. A bit out of the way of the main streets. Not too close to anything else.

The location of the property by the lake was great. I enjoyed the view of the marsh birds from our room, and the king size bed was very comfortable. There is a great walkway outside and a small park next door. I saw lots of mallards, grebes, blue herons and a ring-neck pheasant. The restaurant was a relaxing place for both supper and breakfast, and the staff were super helpful. The best PEI mussels!

The hotel staff are exceptionally accommodating and friendly, and the hotel itself is well-equipped with everything one could need. I do hope that, on our next visit, a sauna will be added alongside the jacuzzi.

I cannot think of anything that I disliked.

It was our anniversary, and the staff did a wonderful job arranging everything we requested before we even arrived. The team was truly awesome; very warm and friendly. The room was spotless, and the view was absolutely beautiful, overlooking a serene lake with lots of birds living among the reeds and grass.

The only downside was that we didn’t enjoy the restaurant’s food.

All in all accommodation, close to the centre town, maybe much better if we experience a unit facing to the lake

The property has a great location to the downtown and water edge walking path. The staff was great, making sure we had what we need and a friendly greeting when entering the lobby. The outdoor hot tub on the lake is a great way to end the day.

View was great, room was comfortable and had all the things we needed. Pub was nice and server was exceptional. Dining room was lovely and especially nice sitting by the window for breakfast. Nice to have complimentary bikes and we enjoyed the outdoor pool and sitting area on the lawn.

Gates around pool could have been nicer. Beverage centre in back by pool would have been exceptionally nice. A/C in room was a bit noisy.

The restaurants were great , wonderful food and decent service given how busy it was . There’s e- bikes that are complimentary for 2 hours with a deposit which we really enjoyed . There’s also paddle boards but we didn’t have a chance to try that out. The room was very clean and was outfitted with a nespresso coffee machine and real glassware which was lovely .

There happened to be two weddings at the time we stayed so the pool was closed both times we tried to go down which was very disappointing given it’s an indoor/ outdoor pool which looked incredible .

The property is located next to the lake and a bird sanctuary. There are lots of nice walks near by. The hotel itself is conveniently located in a quiet area tgat is an 8 minute walk to town.
