The staff were all amazing. Big shout out to Monika at reception who upgraded us to VIP of the day which was a really nice welcome surprise. Even without the nice upgrade it was a cracking hotel and one we'll definitely use again when the need arises. 10/10
All of it, watching the game, seeing the players, and excellent breakfast
Nothing
Excellent location for cricket. Staff could not be more helpful - they were just brilliant.
Nothing
Easy to find, very comfortable rooms and a good shower.
We are in the bar in the evening as the restaurant was fully booked. The fish and chips we had was ok. Breakfast was poor though and at £15 per person I was expecting it to be better. I have never seen grey sludgy scrambled egg served anywhere before but it was here. There really is no excuse for that especially in a hotel chain like Hilton. The other hot breakfast items weren’t much better. If I stayed again I think I would go elsewhere for breakfast. Such a shame as otherwise the hotel was welcoming and comfortable.
Great venue with amazing rooms overlooking the cricket field
The beds weren’t very comfortable
Amazing view of the club grounds, clean, great size, friendly staff.
There is no extraction ventilation in the bathroom, it was switched off and not ideal. The restaurant and bar was overwhelmed, the staff were over worked and they all seemed extremely busy and understaffed. The management should take note and make a change. I hope they are well paid. We left tips!
A great location and an ideal venue for our onward travel
Nothing
Professional and clean
Parking is a faff
The rooms are comfortable, we especially like the deluxe rooms with a balcony overlooking the cricket pitch. The breakfast buffet is excellent.
Some maintenance issues with the room (empty conditioner in the bathroom, mirror light didn’t work, tears in the net curtain) and some of the main meal portions at dinner in Beefy’s were a little small for the cost.
Everything
Great shower nice and hot and strong. Water did not run onto the bathroom floor.
There was no access to fresh air as the windows were sealed . Could not clear the steam on the mirrors.
Nice view of the cricket ground. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Normal UK breakfast
The dinner could be much better
Breakfast was, in my experience, what I expected for such a hotel, for breakfast Beefy’s was a pleasant venue. The bathroom was particularly good, excellent shower and toiletries.
Not sure whether it’s in Hilton’s remit to do anything about it but dinner in Beefy’s was overpriced and the service was terrible. Paying £180 for a hotel room and then being asked to stump up £5 per night to park, really?
Being a black family staying there , just made the experience unpleasant with people looking at us as thought we did not have the means to stay in such place , it made us feel very uncomfortable
The customer service at the reception and how client just made us feel uncomfortable
Great location Close Proximity to cricket ground Large rooms Comfortable beds Modern and clean
Wonderful hotel to stay whilst on business. Great deluxe room with a balcony.

Rooms are a good size
Beds are AWFUL really hard and uncomfortable and pillows and duvet are feather so really bad for allergies
We got a free upgrade to VIP so our stay was great!

Room was large and in a quite location and very clean water and rea and coffee provided but no biscuits ☹️ Breakfast was ok but not as good as our last visit, plenty of choice but the cooked element was a bit 😩 the bacon was cooked to shoe leather but generally everything was nicely presented . Bar staff were really helpful provided some ice in a glass for the room.

Good location, friendly staff. Room was good, nice bath room.
More pillows
Perfect location for things we had planned
Having to pay for overnight parking
Clean, great furnishing and quality products Lovely breakfast

Great location.
It is what it is
All good
Beefys Restaurant (which we always use ) is looking a bit tired these days .A freshen up would improve it .
This is our 4th stay now as my husband loves the cricket. It's perfect as travelling with a 4 year old they can both do their own thing. Rooms are spacious and we like Beefys for dinner.
We have loved breakfast on our previous visits. This time however it was a bit of a shambles. It was packed so don't know if it was staffing issues. Asked for scrambled egg and waited 10 mins along with other items. The male assistant manager was very helpful but rushed off his feet. Ordered an omelette and it just stuck to the pan, a burnt mess. The boy serving was not very hygienic either. Spoons provided for the omelette items but used his hands, touched his head, the door frame etc, made me feel sick. Omelette wasn't eaten. Also we checked in and room provided. We were a little earlier than 3.00. Housekeeping knocked on the door after about 20 mins, we answered and he looked shocked. Next followed a call from reception telling us that check out was 1100 and we need to leave. Explained the situation and they apologised. Just a bit rude
excellent choice of food for breakfast, very well presented and cooked , staff very good and helpful.
Location and the cricket ground.
The air con broke down in the room on the hottest day. They offered fans and had two noisy fans all night because they couldn’t move us to a different room. The fans were awful and circulated hot air and no windows could Open. The beds were too firm for me. Had to ask for a fridge to keep medication cold which was delivered quickly but because of the location of the power socket meant it was a trip hazard at night. We complained about the aircon and the fans. We paid extra for the breakfast. The breakfast was disappointing. The fruit and everything in the fridges were so cold, eating them was uncomfortable. The main issue was choice, poor quality on the food, and also the location of the vegetarian selection was next to the black pudding and meat products and saw the tinges being used for the meat and also the same one for the vegetarian selection. Poor poor poor!!!!!!! This with the room was a worrying disappointment. We were out for the day and came back to be told that the air con couldn’t be fixed and were moved to a room with a balcony overlooking the cricket ground which was ok. They offered us a bottle of lemonade as a free for inconvenience of the poor night before. I suggested at least dinner but no. Dismayed with the experience and the distance between the hotel and eating in Southampton which was 30 mins away for anything good to eat, we decided to try the hotel dining. We booked a table and sat outside. The seating area was nice but the table took sometime to be cleared. When we got into the dinning room, we ordered, a pizza which wasn’t on the menu but on the room service menu. My partner ordered that and I order a small Caesar’s salad, some chips and some onion rings. We waited and waited and waited, the dining room wasn’t busy. After 30 mins, the food arrived. My partners pizza she enjoyed. Shockingly, and hears the rub, my Ceasars salad came without any Parmesan cheese, very little dressing, the onion rings were cold but the chips were hot.
The room to watch the cricket was perfect. I went to reception to get a fan which they delivered to the room
Price
Not my kind of hotel but served a purpose. Central location, functional, very clean. Young woman on reception when we arrived was brutally unfriendly! Unable to open windows which I know is common but I hate having to rely on a/c. Surprisingly lovely view up towards Winchester. Fine but would prefer not to return.
Clinical - very much a function hotel. Receptionist obviously having a really bad day ...
Clean, large and comfy room. Very large bed. Great Lego treats for kids in lobby, very nice feature!
Breakfast options are limited, more vegetables and non-pork options would be appreciated.
Property in nice area
Put in noisy room, complained but staff could Offer alternative. Carpet had a stain near the window, did not complain about the stain on the carpet, as I did not sleep the night of our stay.
Good location and catered very well for kids
Bathroom needed cleaning properly

Huge bed, view from room, good breakfast , cheerful welcome, nice pint,. Much better in every way than the French hotel we had stayed inthe night before which was more expensive .
I mistimed our return from a month in France, a few days later and we would have enjoyed watching Yorkshire beat Hampshire over four days🤞.Maybe next year.
Sofa bed was not comfortable, Beefys restaurant was terrible service had to ask to order to take plates away and waited ages. Then the had the cheek to stick an automatic tip on! Very poor.
Restaurant and sofa bed. Staff
Location , outside patio area is idyllic
An excessive amount of flies in the bathroom
את החדר, ואת שרות של הצוות
The staff were very good, courteous, polite and extremely helpful.

Superbly maintained, probably the nicest hotel I have stayed in this year. Parking, at £5, compares very favourably with many others. Very polite and attentive staff.

The room and the view
The food, for a hotel that is selling itself as a higher standard hotel, the food was shocking, breakfast was very poor and the scambled eggs looked disgusting, and the steak my partner had at dinner was tough and tastless! If you think I'm being unfair read Giles Coren's review of Beefy's !
We had a lovely room with balcony looking out to cricket ground! Beautiful! The breakfast was excellent, great variety.
Convenient location, David Lloyd adjacent. Handy if travelling for business. Great view of the ground
Excellent location. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Nice view of the cricket ground.
I paid extra for a balcony room with a view of the cricket ground. However we are elderly and there was only one easy chair in the room despite it being a room for two people. So as we had a balcony we had to move one of the outdoor chairs inside for me to sit on! There were coffee and tea making facilities but a rather meagre choice and no biscuits which would have been perfect to accompany our drinks. We decided on a sandwich for later in the evening but the choice was very limited. Tuna, ham or egg . For those prices I would expect at least a decent cheese sandwich! So as there wasn’t anything my husband could eat he went without. I had the ham sandwich which was passable but cost around £16 which included a price for bringing it up to our room! Most expensive sandwich I have ever had 😡 Also when we returned to the hotel from visiting our son we had great difficulty finding anywhere to park. So there clearly needs to be more parking room available.
Everything....all staff went above and beyond... location excellent...food amazing....rooms highly cleaned...it is the best hotel I have stayed in...and I have stayed in a lot....I also work in hotel
Nothing.... everything was perfect
Monika at the reception was lovely and very professional 😊 She definitely made our stay memorable 😊
The location was great and the hotel was very clean. Breakfast was superb. We really enjoyed the stay.
Excellent location for going on a cruise. The view onto the cricket pitch is great!
The food at dinner and breakfast was beyond atrocious. Many of the staff looked angry that they had to work there and be there. The evening meal was cold and unable to eat. Breakfast was not stocked up, couldn’t get staff to help. Reception staff on arrival were ok- but not the most helpful. Despite having a message from the hotel, the rooms were not allocated correctly and the beds were not made up- when they were the bed sheets were stained. A really poor stay- much better quality and cheaper options elsewhere!
The view to the stadium and the balcony
The managers wife was SOOOOOO IGNORANT to staff and was so rude to me at the end of the night
It was in the right place for us to meet family
There was nothing to dislike
The Hundreds, the balcony, room generally
Air con doesn't work
Balcony over cricket ground
Friendly staff. When our air conditioning wasn’t working they moved us to another room straight away.
Lovely hotel, clean good breakfast.
The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, as it dipped really badly so it resulted in not a good night's sleep.
Hotel convenient position for cruise terminal. Parking made easy.
Warm welcome by friendly helpful staff both in Hotel and Beefys Restaurant. Large quiet clean room.
The rooms were very clean, the reception staff very good, breakfast was very nice.
The bar area and outside seating area at night was awful and very untidy. Every table was full of plates, glasses and bottles and the bar staff didn’t seem interested
A very pleasant place to stay, lovely grounds.
Clean, friendly and great value for money
Was a little further out than I thought but good parking and facilities to compensate
Beautiful room and hotel overlooking the cricket ground. The reception staff were also very kind in letting us in our room early. I would definitely stay here again
Mooie locatie in het cricket stadion.
Bedden zijn wat hard

No fridge in room. Had to take water and ice to get access to water. No hot drink facility in rooms.
View overlooking the cricket ground Beefy’s bar and restaurant
Easy to locate. Clean tidy
Getting a parking ticket when I got home even though I had paid the parking fee. Room not being ready when I arrived
Excellent hotel and good location
Service a little slow in the restaurant
Blijft een mooi hotel op een leuke locatie. Vaak geweest en heeft iets magisch. Leuk en goed restaurant zowel diner als ontbijt.
Het begint nu na 11 jaar wel wat gedateerd te raken een update zou mooi zijn.
Really nice room lovely comfortable bed..excellent breakfast
Ala carte food.portions far to small.. me and my wife had the beef.My wife asked for no mash potato extra vegetables..she not get no extra vegetables. Mine portions to small like a kids meal.. seriously tasted fine.

Late breakfast at 9am didn't seem as fresh as an earlier breakfast, from previous experience at this hotel. Pot of pre-made tea was cold and bitty. There didn't seem to be a fully replenished self service selection.
The room was clean. Watching the cricket from the balcony was fantastic
Lifts weren't being called to the ground floor, however, this issue was dealt with quickly by staff.
Spacious room, Beefy food good.
Nothing.
We checked into our room after a day in the spa. Room 138, £250 a night. I opened the door and It smelt like damp,it was disgusting. I went in to find a damp soggy carpet in one corner of the room with a fungus growing out of the skirting board. The room was also filthy. I have never seen anything like it. The front desk manager was also absolutely useless, the poorest of management and people skills. We left and went to stay at the Southampton Harbour hotel in a cheaper but far superior room.
Great spread and choice. Very fresh and of good quality
Would be great if the evening dining cut off time could be extended

Big comfortable bed Food was banging Clean
I am a coeliac and they were able to be flexible to my needs with a separate frier for foods which is good. The room was good and bed very comfortable breakfast staff were highly efficient and a contrast to others (see below)
The service in the restaurant in the evening was poor - having to ask for cutlery; meals coming out at different times, food not as described on the menu - sloppy. Bar staff off hand No view from the restaurant on the back of torn black netting and temporary stands
Appalling service for dinner. Had to chase for order to be taken. Bottle of wine served with three different sizes of wine glasses. Indifferent food. Breakfast was good and service better.
Great for watching the cricket
It was over priced
Steak was good
The room had not been cleaned properly and there was used glasses from previous guests still on the balcony. I asked someone to come sort this but after an hour had to do it myself and leave them in the hallway. The restaurant had very bad service. I had to take the service charge off the bill because service was poor, first time in 14 years I have done that. The quality of food at breakfast was low, not 5 star, maybe 2 star. Poor.
Amazing hotel, good location and excellent customer service
Spa facilities, location and staff
Comfortable room, nice golf course view
One lift wasn’t working which meant long wait to leave with luggage
Very nice room with working air con. Convenient location for the port.
The restaurant and bar were understaffed and consequently the staff were rude and we had to wait ages to be acknowledged, let alone served. Beefys restaurant was overpriced for the quality of the food.
The wow factor of where it is. Perfect for cricket!
Air con needs to be able to go cooler. It's set at 19 degrees.
Well laid out. Very clean and modern.

Location is good
Waited 2 hours for room to be available. Long queues for bar/breakfast
Breakfast overcrowded. I was on my own & coming back to my table from the buffet area my food or coffee cup was gone or some else was sitting there.
As above
Convenient for a pre cruise stay
Wine expensive & breakfast mediocre
Location and able to watch top class cricket
Waited 25 minutes for poached eggs an food in Beefy’s was expensive and pork was dry
Nice big rooms with views onto cricket pitch.
Balconies were not private, doviders were clear glass.
The location, the amenities, the friendliness and helpfulness of all reception personnel. The waiting and bar staff also very good.
The breakfast hotel food could have been better . Bacon very hard and overcooked and my poached eggs came in little pots and were full of water and eggs practically raw. The evening meals were lovely and very good.
De locatie
Kamer was zeer minimalistisch voor deze prijs
Everything was excellent: from the greeting and check in on arrival; the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms; the view of the ground from the balcony and service in the bar. Good hotel.
Location, and cleanliness. Breakfast fabulous!
2 lifts weren't working properly so delays going tob3rd floor
Excellent facilities. Good food in bar area. Spacious well equipt room. Huge bed.
£35 for dog was a bit steep. We didnt get anything for that. Plus £38 per person to use the swimming pool was extortionate. Hotel guests usually get to use the pool for free. Needless to say we didnt bother.
Very nice rooms, very polite staff and lovely food
Everything
Room was excellent.
Reception Procedure was rather slow in a busy period. Evening meal was a bit disappointing. Breakfast was fine.
