-Expected gourmet breakfast as pictured/advertised (it’s literally what made us choose this place over the runner up option). No gourmet breakfast at all. They had muffins, cold dry croissants, cut fruit, packaged yogurt, some cut in half string cheese things, I think there may have been oatmeal packets. Left hungry and needing to find a breakfast place to eat at before long travel. -Also, the person who runs the place is professional/appropriate but not super friendly. - they don’t respond to messages to the property, like the ones where you ask for an extra pillow :(.

The entire property was well kept and comfortable. The hotel manager was helpful, kind and friendly

We arrived late but the staff left note how to get in and our room. It was clean and in nice area.

We had a good size room but there was so much furniture we had no where to put our bags. The toilet seat was broken and breakfast was terrible.

The hotel didn’t have guests during the 2 days of my 3-night stay. It was a bit spooky. No Shining spooky, but you get it. The breakfast starts at 8 am. So it’s not a hotel for business travelers.

Bit dated,, lots of clutter = lots of dust, couch was saggy, couldn’t open the door to the lovely deck - could you not put a screen on that door? I stated multiple times I had Celiac. I could have none of the little snacks you provided in the room as they all contained wheat

Beautiful property, beautiful decor, immaculately clean, excellent facilities.

Equipement de la salle de bain et de la chambre complet (TV, lecteur de DVD, frigo, micro-ondes, climatisation, nécessaire pour café et thé et quelques biscuits). Mobilier de style personnalisé pour chaque chambre. Par exemple nous avions la chambre Thomas CROWN avec 2 DVD associés à ce personnage. Places de parking pour chaque chambre. Bel espace, décoré avec goût, pour un agréable petit-déjeuner buffet.

Wonderful and comfortable room with furniture and space.

Everything was great.

The rooms on the second floor were lovely, both with outside decks and little kitchenettes. Great views and woke up to the birds singing. The host is very friendly and helpful. Location is in a neighbourhood, so no coffee shops or restaurants, but that is why it is so nice and quiet.

The sound does travel from the floor above - we didn't look at those rooms, but it might make sense to choose one of the rooms on the third floor if possible.

It was cozy, calm, peaceful and private place to stay! We had a great view of the mountains from our terrace. Great getaway for couples. See the movies provided in the room. Seeing the original Secret garden movie was a highlight. Would stay again!

Located in a residential area with too many cars parked everywhere. I do not think the owners can do much to solve this issue.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. We had a lovely stay. It was a 10 minute drive from Martini Town and very close to restaurants and other amenities. Located in a very lovely neighborhood beautifully decorated for Christmas and with great mountain views

I have never slept in a more comfortable bed!

I had asked for a late check out but I had to get out of the shower to answer the door when he knocked on my door at 25 after 11. He is then knocking on the door again immediately at noon as I was gathering my things to leave. It was a bit frustrating because I was on track to be out by before noon until I was interrupted. I just feel like if you’ve offered somebody a late check out let them check out at the time you’ve asked.

The Tuscany suite was beautiful and clean. Excellent value for the money. There was a small but served breakfast. The owner is an interesting man to talk to.

Having stayed at several boutique hotels in the past, we know what to expect from a property that sells itself on the experience. Although the Brookside ticks the boxes on providing a quiet neighbourhood,modern conveniences and friendly host, it lacks in many other areas. The most frustrating is the absence of any housekeeping staff to the point of speculating that the suites have not been cleaned in a very long time. Excessive dust under furniture and on baseboards( anyone with allergies take note), hair pins on bathroom floor, dust on tub ledges, blinds dusty, white doors dirty did not make us comfortable. It was quite evident that none of the floors had been cleaned. We would expect that housekeeping would empty garbage, exchange towels and possibly make the bed. There was no indication at check in that these services would not exist. The 3 snacks in the room are a nice touch for a boutique hotel but only if they haven’t expired 6 months ago. Breakfast was lacklustre- much the same as you’d find at an economy hotel. This property has a lot of potential but it appears the owners have lost interest. I’m not sure why the current standing of #1 for the area still stands.

I only stayed here for 2 nights - was out with friends all day and only there overnight. 2nd night was a washout and waste of $ though. I was sound asleep and heard pounding (as if on the front door of the inn) at 1AM - woke up, disoriented and agitated/worried about who was making that noise. The pounding stopped then started again after a few minutes so I was not able to settle down and get back to sleep. Packed up, and left early forgoing the continental breakfast, drove across the border and got home almost an hour before the 11am checkout time! Innkeeper wasn't aware at all about the disturbance till I saw him in the small parking lot as I was ready to drive away and told him. It was an expensive night of unrest and one not soon forgotten as it had not ever happened to me anywhere before.

Lovely stay and great friendly staff, if we are back in the area we would be sure to rebook here.

The bed was too narrow for 2 people the mattress was so soft the we could not sleep. The location was too far from city center

Very nice room, and wonderful gracious staff. Room was spacious and quite comfortable as well as nicely appointed. A few cob webs, and stains around the taps, pretty minor actually. Would definitely come back, and do recommend.

A hidden Gem. Spacious high quality rooms. NOT JUST A HOTEL, but each room is designed after a movie theme. Incredible hosts, great value. My wife and I have stayed there multiple times, and this our favorite place in the Abbotsford area to stay

The rooms are theme based and tastefully appointed and immaculate. Chris, the , proprietor was welcoming and helpful. We greatly enjoyed conversing with the other guests over a continental breakfast. We highly recommend this hotel as a wonderful place to stay.

The location of the breakfast was very convenient. It was a continental breakfast with service of brewed coffee and tea with orange juice.

We stayed in the Secret Garden room, which was very cute and on theme.

I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here, Chris is an excellent host and the property was upscale and secure,I highly recommend staying here!

The owner was attentive and very hospitable. My wife and I had a wonderful night there. Highly recommended and would return for sure. Beautiful, quiet, amazing territorial views.

Wonderful experience

Great host, great conversation and a unique experience.

Not the typical property style I’d stay at. The owner/ caretaker was very friendly and kind to deal with. The doors had large gaps offering less then privacy compared to what I’m use to. Also the cleanliness of the room was to be desired. We found glasses and couple other items left by previous guests. Also under the bed had a layer of dust that was hard to miss if you dropped something and happen to look.
