Staff was great and friendly. Location was perfect.

The only problem we had was we asked for towels to a couple different workers and they never came and got them for us. As expensive that it is we were not expecting to have to pay to park

I liked the location, the rom layout was small but efficient, the balcony view of the ocean was great!

There was a problem with the hotel’s hot water heater during our stay. The staff quickly communicated to the guests about that issue, which was resolved 1 day later. And a sensor on our deck door turned off our A/C during one night during our stay, resulting in a hot room. I called the front desk and they sent someone up right away to repair it. Also charging an extra $20/day for parking is ridiculous! iOtherwise everything was GOOD!!

Good location to restaurant and mini golf

Had to pay for parking to park in their lot. Didn’t have hot water for a day without compensation. No more free bikes, chairs , or umbrellas… had to rent them. Cleaning of rooms was poor. Had to get own clean towels daily. Only cleaned room 1/4 days. Fire alarm went off one morning without any follow up.

Room was dirty when we got there we had to have the housekeeper give us new sheets because they were stained all over. Mold in bathroom. Staff was quick to accommodate with new sheets though. Floors were not vacuumed sand everywhere.

The location is convenient, and the property itself has a nice beachfront setting.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service have declined significantly since our previous stay. We encountered dirty towels, stained/dirty bedding, mold on the shower curtain, a bathtub that would not drain properly, and mold underneath a pillowcase. We also experienced repeated failures by staff to follow through on basic requests, including pool towels.

Based on the pictures that the site has does not describe what you get. The room was very unclean and the room was falling apart , every single thing in there was either broken or almost broken. Electrical outlets were every lose and furniture was damaged and barely put together. Thermostat won't go below 68

The hotel was not as clean and nice as I would expect for $500/night. The "suite" was not as clean as I like, sand on the bath floor,the dresser drawer was broken, the balcony door was hard to open. First day, no hot water to shower.

they charge for parking and they used to give you free chairs for the beach. They no longer do that. Everything cost extra now. Also I didn't love the look of the bathroom. The caulk looked very old and dirty and even the toilet around it in the screws that come out to hold it in place just look dirty.

Black prints in room from when I stayed year previous..this time was dirty..costly to parking everyday when other places are free..roof was leaking in checking lobby dirty vents outside building being cleaned. Who knows what we were breathing in..they were corroded with filth..Nats coming from shower drain kitchen sink faucet was to close to counter to turn water on..without getting whole counter wet..patio door filthy..frig froze everything...won't be back..shame how went downhill ..and too much to park..

Room was in poor condition. Refrigerator did not work, beds were uncomfortable & room had black mold on every ceiling. This year a $20 per day charge for car & the pool was out of service first day of vacation.

We’ve been going for 4 years. The hotel is going down but prices continue going up. Not very clean. Birds in the pool. No longer a bar at the pool.

The bathroom totally flooded when it rained and soaked everything on the floor and my shoes. The sinks and the shower barely drained. I had to wear enclosed water proof shoes it was so gross. The room smelled like someone peed over everything in the bathroom, the floor was covered in sand, the AC barely worked, you could hear everyone in the hallway, the parking fee of $20 a day is not transparent and was absolutely not worth it

Hotel is following apart , water leaking down through the ceiling in the lobby, also ceiling leaking in the bakery , 7th floor the cleaning staff would throw garage bags , dirty towel in the corner of the hallway and one day an old broken dirty chair sat there all day . The room we stayed in was beat up ! They need to paint and do repairs and decorate with beach stuff .

The location was excellent, right on the beach and very convenient. We loved having easy access to the beach and nearby attractions.

The room did not feel properly cleaned. When we returned after housekeeping, there were still wrappers and debris on the bathroom floor, making it seem as though the used towels had simply been picked up without the bathroom actually being cleaned. There was also still sand in the bed after it had been made, the shower curtain was stained, the AC was extremely loud and did not cool the room well, and the pool water was very foamy. For the price we paid, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and comfort.

The room was a decent size with a full kitchen. The pool was big and liked that there was an inside pool as well.

For the price we paid, i thought the room would’ve been cleaner. The one cover under the TV was completely covered in dust like it hadn’t been cleaned for MONTHS. I took my flip flops off as soon as we got into the room and my feet were covered in sand like nobody swept/mopped properly and the bath tub didn’t drain. I had to get water from the sink to rinse the tub out in order to be able to give my 7m old a bath so she didn’t stay covered in dirt/sand.

Another downfall to this property was having to pay for parking and the parking that was offered was not the greatest.

The ceiling had quite a bit of mold.. the staff was nice and cleaned it that evening, but yuk. The ceiling by the elevators in the lobby was also leaking. They had buckets on the floor to catch the water. The side door was broken to exit the lobby also. Just needed a little more maintenence and would have given a better rating

What we liked about the property was the location. And we have stayed there twice a year for the past three years.

We didn’t like having a room that still had sand on the floor when we checked in. We didn’t like having a shower that had a missing shower curtain and for some reason was not noticed by housekeeping before checking, and wasn’t replaced until I said something. We didn’t like that this year we had to pay for parking. There are many hotels that offer free parking and I’m not sure why private parking for the hotel requires a charge. I luckily was able to receive comp’d parking but why is this necessary? This will cause me to switch hotels if I have to pay for parking.

The Commander is right off on the Boardwalk at a great location.. It also has rooms in the back of that are really great they have a full kitchen and are spacious. The parking lot is easily accessible. So we always leave our beach stuff (wagon, coolers, toys etc) in the car, grab it in the morning on the way to the beach. The hotel is clean, the rooms are clean as well. The staff is very friendly. Should you need anything there is either someone in the hallway or at the desk. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. We really enjoy our stays at the Commander!

Water pressure in the shower could be better but overall not a big deal. The hotel could provide a small broom in each room. We always bring/buy one. To be expected, the sand is everywhere. A quick sweep solves it. None of these things are deal breakers we love the hotel! The one thing we think is that parking should not cost so much per day. We are already spending a bit to stay at the hotel, to play for parking as well seems excessive.

We had water seeping into our room after heavy rain. It was nothing major but we did have to sop it up. Also, the side door entrance to the lobby was broken for half of our stay. We saw the ice machine being fixed and there was a leak in the hotel lobby ceiling during our stay.

Location was great, and pool was great, large with plenty of available seating. Room was good size for 4. Truly ADA accessible, unlike some of the other ADA rooms we've stayed in other hotels. No carpet, plenty of space for wheelchair in-between beds, and space for wheelchair in the TV/living area. Balcony was a very nice size with good view of ocean.

There was no hot water the whole time we were there. Staff was aware and working on the issue, but it did affect our stay.

Mold on ceilings. Bathroom doors wouldn’t fully close. Air conditioners were locked at 68 and didn’t kick on regularly. Had to pay for parking.

There is no hot or warm water in the hotel, and my entire family of four is unable to take a shower because the water is freezing cold. We checked in around 7:00 PM. What is especially frustrating is that the staff did not inform us before or at check-in that there was a problem with the hot water system. About 20 minutes after checking in, I went downstairs to report the issue, and the only response I received was, “Sorry, the whole building is like that.” We are paying over $500 for one night, and it is completely unacceptable to have no hot water for a basic necessity like taking a shower. My mother and my wife have seawater in their hair and have been unable to shower because the water is ice cold. What makes this situation even more disappointing is that it appears the hotel knew about the problem before we checked in but chose not to inform us. Had we been told about the issue beforehand, we could have made a different decision about staying here. I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled and expect the hotel to provide an appropriate resolution, including consideration of a refund or significant compensation for the inconvenience.

Not clean, no hot water for two and a half days. Random brush left with hair all over it. Didn't clean the room before we got there or during our stay. We had to ask for more TP. Bed was so old there were two big indentions where people sleep.

Unfortunately, our stay at The Commander Hotel in Ocean City was a very disappointing experience, and ultimately one that left us certain we would not return or recommend the hotel. Our initial disappointment came at check-in. Check-in was scheduled for 4:00 PM, and we arrived at 3:57 PM, only to be told they were running behind and our room was not ready. We were told they would call us when it was available. Meanwhile, they had no problem immediately charging the $20-per-night parking fee and placing a $100 pending hold for incidentals. We left, went to dinner, and an hour and a half later still had not received a call. When we called to ask about our room, we were told that all rooms were ready and that they weren't sure why nobody had called us. The tone we received made it feel as though our call was an inconvenience. Once we finally got to our room, the AC unit was leaking onto the floor and was not working properly. Maintenance was called, but it took several hours before we were told the unit would not connect to the thermostat and that we would have to operate it the "old-fashioned way" until they could return the following day to fix it. At least we had AC, but this was certainly not the start to a relaxing stay. The following morning, we woke up to no hot water. Guests were not informed of the issue until later that evening, when management finally slid a note under our door apologizing for the inconvenience and stating they were working on the problem. It took approximately two and a half days for the hot water to finally be restored. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication and effort to make things right. There were no meaningful attempts to address the inconvenience with guests. Our room was never properly cleaned during our stay. We received towels, but the floor was not swept, the bathroom was not serviced, and toilet paper was not replenished. We actually had to ask for another roll. At checkout, the receptionist asked for our room number, confirmed our last name, took our keys, said "all set," and immediately continued talking with a colleague. There was no "How was your stay?" and no acknowledgment or apology for the issues we had experienced. We even overheard another guest mention that they had been staying at this hotel for the past eight years and felt that it had continuously gone downhill. Hearing that certainly reinforced our feeling that our experience was not simply a fluke. Things happen, and we understand that maintenance issues can occur. What made this experience particularly disappointing was the lack of communication, customer service, and effort to make guests feel valued when problems did arise. Sadly, after this stay, we will not be rebooking The Commander Hotel and would not recommend it to others. Ocean City has plenty of places to stay where guests should be able to expect basic communication, cleanliness, working amenities, and courteous customer service.

I liked looking out over the pool and it was a great room , plenty of room for everyone and very close to the beach . I would definitely stay here again. And I recommend this Suite to all of my friends

Very dated for the price!! The air conditioner worked but water ran back inside & when you stepped on the floor water came up. The drain on the air conditioner needs to run outside but didn't it ran back inside 😫

The facility has declined. We had 3 rooms during g our stay. One room had a very leaky toilet which saturated the bathroom floor. The second room had mold in the AC unit. The 3rd room was fine but we had to request a shower curtains to be installed and there were missing essentials (hangers and an iron). The staff was very helpful in remedying our issues, but we spent a lot of time addressing issues and moving rooms. It’s still a great location, but there seem to be lots of building/room issues.

it was good but one night people came back to there room around 1 and was really loud when got in there room woke us up for a well.

i paid for a balcony view. the door was broken and has been broken according to maintenance. i paid specifically for that view and i couldn’t even get to experienced it. no accommodation no nothing. didn’t offer a refund or another room. never returning back here.

I have stayed here for 2 trips each summer for last 15 years, so not a new comer. Have usually enjoyed most experiences in ocean front room. This will likely be my last time. Avoid room 259. On the other side of balcony is roof top of restaurant. A limited view for same price of room of other rooms. The worse of it is the plentiful bird poop on other side of railing. Looks like it could be possible for hotel to atleast clean in front of balcony . On a positive note maintenance was very responsive to an issue in the room. Housekeeping was friendly as well.

Not worth the price of the room. Dirty and in disrepair in many spots. For $500+ per night, this hotel should be better taken care of and better staffed. Staff was hardly ever at desk. Room NEVER got cleaned once while we were there. Only given fresh towels twice across 5 days. We left wet towels on floor to indicate they were dirty and wet...had to go looking and asking for towels 3 mornings out of 5.

I love the cleanliness of the hotel. The staff is always wonderful. We had a little problem with our AC in the room and they immediately had someone come up to fix it. They have an indoor and outdoor pool and we always have an abundance of towels and washcloths.

The location is fantastic! We love being right on the boardwalk in downtown Ocean City. We can easily walk many places! This is why we have stayed here in the past. The location is everything to us when we plan a vacation.

This was our 4th year staying at The Commander Hotel and every year it gets worse. The staff was a mix of helpful and friendly and downright rude and dismissive. The sheets were stained. There were no towels at the pool. The pool bar was closed this year and it is something my teenager girls love getting virgin pina coladas at. That was very upsetting to them. Overall the hotel is getting worse every year with the overall standard going downhill with less and less employees who care. We won't be staying at The Commander Hotel again.

Ocean front balcony was nice, but small. Microwave and big sized mini fridge were helpful. Restaurant downstairs (BaiTee) was very good for breakfast.

Pool guests were out of control and unable to enjoy our 2 ROOMS for 6 days at almost 5,000$. Dogs at pool, drunk guests bringing alcohol into pool along with their own loud and offensive music. Children carrying and eating food in the pool, resulting in food floating in the pool.

My family and I booked this hotel specifically because it is pet-friendly. We reserved through a third-party website and genuinely believed the pet fee was already included in the total we paid. Check-in went smoothly, and we even paid for early check-in. After unloading the car, I walked directly through the front entrance with my dog, asked the front desk where the stairs were, and went upstairs. I also brought a dog crate up on the luggage cart. I made no attempt to hide that I had a pet. On Monday, July 27, at approximately 2:00 p.m., while unpacking my car, I overheard a manager loudly say, "Then charge him." Hearing that immediately made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. A few minutes later I returned because my room key wasn't working. I was asked if I had a pet, despite already walking past the desk with my dog and crate. I immediately agreed to pay the pet fee because I honestly believed it had already been included. I never argued or hesitated. While I was being charged, the same manager walked over and asked, "What are we doing here?" He already knew, since he had just instructed staff to "charge him." The comment felt unnecessary and disrespectful. For the remainder of our stay, this manager never greeted me or my family. I watched him warmly welcome other guests while consistently ignoring us. I even said "Good morning" one day and received no response. I have worked in hospitality for over 15 years. Honest mistakes happen, especially with third-party bookings. I paid the fee immediately, yet my family was made to feel unwelcome for the rest of our stay. We were planning another family vacation and intended to book about six rooms for roughly 15 people. After this experience, we will be staying elsewhere. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so future guests are treated with the professionalism and respect they deserve.

When got to the room the thermostat was set. on 90 so the room was hot. I ordered a pack and play for my granddaughter that I never got. I had to pay to parking on the property which I found outrages with the cost of the room. Then the pool was over run by people who weren’t staying so it was not as enjoyable as it could have been.

Check-in was at 4 but we checked in around 3:30 and were told they would call us when our room was ready. We went back into lobby around 5, maybe a little after, to check if our room was ready and they never had called us that it was. If check-in is at 4 rooms should be ready by then and if you say you will call guests then you should

The pull out couch needs replaced and no one had swept under it in awhile. Paying 20 a day to park is a bit pricey. Indoor pool area very dated. Ceiling looks like it’s falling down.

Check in process was a hassle. Very busy and chaotic. Big issue for us was we checked into a room where other peoples things were……assuming they typed in the wrong floor for the key card. So that was disturbing and uncomfortable. The worst part was the manager on duty didn’t seem to care or even apologize. Finally got it resolved and the rest of the trip was fine. Location and view is great!

The location was very convenient and therefore great value for the money, however our room wasn’t the cleanest- had some marks on the walls and doors, and trash under one of the beds, however the bathroom was very clean and sheets and pillows were obviously cleaned but we did see a few stains. Overall I would definitely stay here again!

The location was great. We stayed in the Guest House which was budget friendly and convenient. We had no problem with parking. The beds were pretty comfortable. The AC unit was cold, but I could not find a way to keep the fan running continuously with the AC on. I would say this was excellent value for a 2 night stay convenient to boardwalk and beach.
