Me encantó el hotel. La habitación era acogedora, limpia y tranquila. La presión del agua era buena y el agua caliente salía rapidísimo, lo cual fue una ventaja. Me gusta que tenga una terraza con vista panorámica desde la que se puede admirar y disfrutar de la laguna. El personal fue muy atento. La comida es realmente deliciosa.

El hotel es impresionante, con unas vistas espectaculares de la laguna de Bacalar. El ambiente es tranquilo e íntimo, lo que lo convierte en el lugar perfecto para relajarse y desconectar. Nuestra habitación era preciosa, espaciosa y muy cómoda, y contaba con todo lo necesario para una estancia perfecta. Despertar contemplando los increíbles colores de la laguna fue una experiencia inolvidable. El WIFI es increiblemente rápido lo que te permite trabajar sin ningún contratiempo. El personal fue atento, amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar. Nos sentimos verdaderamente bienvenidos durante nuestra estancia. También disfrutamos del restaurante. La comida estaba deliciosa y cenar con vistas a la laguna hizo que la experiencia fuera aún más especial. Valoramos especialmente la calidad de los platos y el servicio en general. Si buscas un lugar tranquilo y elegante para disfrutar de la belleza de Bacalar, Puerta del Cielo es una opción excelente. Sin duda volveríamos.

Een enorme dankjewel aan het hele team! Als ik een 11 op 10 kon geven, zou ik dat zeker doen. De service is GEWELDIG. Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk en attent. Ze hebben er echt voor gezorgd dat elk detail perfect was. Het eten is uitzonderlijk. De chef-kok en het hele team zijn ontzettend vriendelijk en de keuken is van topniveau; alles is vers, perfect in balans en vol heerlijke smaken. De locatie zelf is rustig en prachtig. We hebben een heerlijke tijd gehad en kunnen deze plek van harte aanbevelen. Nogmaals dank dat jullie dit verblijf zo bijzonder hebben gemaakt.

L'hotel è spettacolare. Il paesaggio circostante e il design degli interni gli conferiscono un'atmosfera maestosa. I giardini dell'hotel sono magnifici e rigogliosi. La nostra terrazza, con una vasca in marmo, offriva un ambiente tranquillo e rilassante dove abbiamo potuto goderci un pomeriggio di lettura e caffè. Il servizio di tutto il personale è stato eccellente. Il cibo è davvero delizioso!

Hermosa! Jardinería excepcional!! Habitación súper cómoda con mueblería de calidad, ventanales y mosquiteros que sellan perfectamente. Las cuijas en la noche afuera de la habitación de dan un toque bellísimo. Todo limpio. De la atención del personal igual están a nivel de realeza!! Desde que llegamos hasta que nos fuimos siempre nos atendieron de la forma más atenta y cálida. Como reyes!! 100/10!! 💎💎💎💎💎

Solamente porque se merecen lo mejor les sugeriría que busquen una solución ante la posibilidad de deshabilitar el display del aire acondicionado. Creo que el modelo que utilizan no tiene esa opción y al dormir no se logra ese obscuro absoluto. Fuera de eso, felicidades! Me dejaron sorprendido!!

Hotel heeft hele goede faciliteiten zoals een mooi zwembad, luxe kamers en een heel goed restaurant. Het ontbijt is oa in de vorm van gratis roomservice mogelijk waardoor je heerlijk op je balkon met meerzicht kan ontbijten. De goede bedjes bij het zwembad met op de achtergrond muziek maken het er heerlijk vertoeven. Het personeel doet er daarnaast alles aan om het je naar de zin te maken. Echt een aanrader!

L’hôtel n’indique pas qu’il est interdit de se baigner dans la lagune avec une protection solaire. C’est un peu dommage car cela pourrait aider à la préservation de ce site incroyable.

Sobretot el tracte del personal i especialment de l’encarregada. Van tenir uns quants detalls que van fer la nostra estada el màxim agradable.

En algun moment que algú utilitzava l’aigua calenta el termo feia força soroll.

Modern hotel qua gebouw en inrichting. Tropische begroeiing ondanks beperkte oppervlakte. Wij hadden leuke douche , in de douche een groot venster met uitzicht op de tropische beplanting....fijne ervaring net of je buiten douche nam. Ook bad buiten op terras. Personeel super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ontbijt a la carte, zeer ruime porties ... eigenlijk is 1 gerecht voldoende voor 2 personen. Zeer lekker avondeten met de chef die aan tafel het vlees bakt of vis fileert. Top keuken voor schappelijke prijs.

Kleine bedden ( queen size) Te weinig ontbijt ruimte. Slechts 2 tafels onder een pergola, wij moesten met ons 4 half uur wachten tot andere mensen klaar waren met ontbijten. Je kan ook op terras van je kamer ontbijten als je maar met 2 bent.

We were welcomed warmly by the extremely friendly staff, got a fresh beverage upon arrival and were immediately blown away by the breathtaking view on the lagune. We even got a free room upgrade, which totally suprised us! The access to the lagoon as well as the amazing pool are the star features of this accommodation! The first evening we even got the chance to have dinner on the ponton on the lagune, which is definitely a must do! The food was amazing and the service was fabulous! We want to thank Puerta del Cielo Hotel Origin Bacalar and its team for the amazing stay! We would very much like to come back in the future! A definite recommendation for everyone wanting to visit Bacalar!

Nothing to mention here, everything was even more than we ever expected or hoped for! :)

The pool

L’emplacement au bord de la lagune est magnifique, avec un accès direct pour se baigner. La vue est superbe et la baignoire dans la chambre est très agréable après une journée de visite.

L’hôtel est assez éloigné du centre, une voiture ou un taxi est indispensable. Le lit était plus petit que prévu (140 cm alors que l’annonce indiquait un grand lit double). Il n’y avait pas de réfrigérateur dans la chambre, le coffre-fort ne fonctionnait pas, et nous avons été réveillés très tôt le matin ainsi que tard le soir par des déplacements de mobilier sur la terrasse. Enfin, le petit-déjeuner était décevant, notamment les fruits qui manquaient de goût.

J'ai tout simplement tout aimé ! Cet endroit est magnifique et dégage une énergie incroyable. Dès qu'on y entre, on ressent une atmosphère à la fois vibrante, apaisante et chaleureuse. Malgré la pluie, j'y ai passé un séjour mémorable. J'ai adoré profiter de la piscine sous la pluie, mais le moment le plus magique a été de me détendre dans la baignoire sur la terrasse, le soir, en maillot de bain, entourée de bougies... C'était tout simplement enivrant. Le cocktail de bienvenue était délicieux, tout comme les petits gâteaux qui l'accompagnaient une fois arrivés en chambre… un vrai régal ! Et la cuisine… un véritable 10/10 ! Félicitations au chef, tout était exceptionnel. L'établissement est petit, mais c'est justement ce qui fait son charme. C'est un lieu intime, empreint de magie, où chaque détail est pensé avec soin. Je recommande cet endroit sans la moindre hésitation. Une expérience que je n'oublierai pas.

You need a taxi to the town which was sometimes hard to get (taking 20+ minutes wait). There were no pool towels

El hotel es muy bonito y se encuentra justo enfrente de la laguna, la habitación tiene buen tamaño y la decoración está bonita.

La limpieza de la habitación pudiera ser mejor, el piso se sentía sucio y el sofá tenía varias manchas y marcas qué nunca ha sido lavado. La distribución está curiosa porque la puerta dea regadera choca con el retrete y la parte de arriba de la regadera, para ser un cuarto con tanto espacio pudieron hacer el baño las grande. El baño no tiene ventana y por lo tanto se guarda la humedad y se nota por manchas en la pared. La comida está ok pero se sentía demasiado grasosa, siempre qué pedíamos algo de comer nos molestaba el estómago. Los ingredientes de la comida no son de tan buena calidad. Hagan lo que hagan no le pidan al staff tours ni mucho menos que les reserven un viaje en taxi, ya qué ellos se van a querer quedar con una "pequeña" comisión y ellos son los que les dictan los precios a los taxis (un taxi incluso nos lo confirmó). Así que si te ven billetudo te van a querer sacar hasta el último cebra centavo. Por un viaje al aeropuerto, que directamente con un taxi o incluso Uber sale máximo en 500 pesos. Ellos querían que pagaríamos 800 pesos, vaya comisión de 300 pesos. Muy sonrientes y todo pero solo le quieren sacar dinero a sus huéspedes. Qué decepcionante, no me imagino cuanto le cobrarán a un viajero extranjero.

It was my first time in Bacalar and i have to say this hotel exceeded my expectations. As soon as we reached the hotel, we were given refreshments and the staff quickly checked us in and transferred our luggages to our room. Our room was the highlight as it was overlooking the stunningly blue lagoon. The hotel and the surrounding area was peaceful. The hotel service and staff were exceptional - anything we needed fixing was fixed in less than 30 minutes. The food - wow!! You have to try their menu atleast once. The portions were big which was great value for money. We spent most of our time in the hotel, lounging in the pool area and ordering drinks and food. The chefs are incredible as they explain each and every dish - you can tell how much thought has gone into preparing each dish. I had an absolutely amazing time in Bacalar, and one of the main highlights was this hotel. Highly recommended. Thank you to the whole team!

Estuve en dos habitaciones diferentes, una con vista a la laguna directamente, con un concepto de rocas que se ve espectacular, pero el baño esta del otro lado de la habitación, las cortinas no cierran bien, la televisión no tiene casi ángulo, para poder verla bien desde la cama, necesita otro tipo de brazo doble, la otra recamara excelente

The property is situated on a beautiful spot in Bacalar.

The staff was not attentive, there were too many guests, it was impossible to get a lounger on the lagoon or next to the pool. We were moved rooms the ground level ones have no privacy.

J’ai réservé cet hôtel pour l’anniversaire de ma compagne, et honnêtement tout a été parfait du début à la fin. On sent que toute l’équipe fait réellement attention au moindre détail et cherche à rendre le séjour unique, et c’est vraiment cette attention du détail qui fait la différence entre un bon hôtel et ce merveilleux établissement. Le personnel est d’une gentillesse exceptionnelle, toujours attentionné, souriant et très professionnel. Ils ont eu plusieurs délicates attentions pour l’anniversaire de ma compagne et nous ont même surclassés, ce qui a rendu ce moment encore plus spécial. Ils ont aussi organisé un dîner privé sur le ponton sans coût supplémentaire. La cuisine mérite également une mention particulière : absolument excellente. Tout est frais, raffiné, parfaitement équilibré et plein de saveurs. Nous avons regretté de ne pas avoir dîné sur place dès le premier soir. L’hôtel est magnifique, calme et très reposant. Nous avons passé un séjour mémorable et nous reviendrons sans hésiter. Un immense merci à toute l’équipe pour cette expérience exceptionnelle.

Direkt an der Lagune. Vom Pool aus hat man eine traumhafte Aussicht. Ebenso gibt es einen Steg und wenn man früh genug dran ist hat man diesen für sich alleine :) Das Essen war super lecker und die Portionen waren rießig. Also eigentlich hätte locker eine Portion für 2 Leute gereicht. Ebenso kann man das Personal immer nach einem Eimer mit Eiswürfeln bitten. Ein Taxi in die Stadt kostet 80 pesos und kann direkt an der Bar angefordert werden. Das Hotel war wirklich wunderschön. :) Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen

Personal war manchmal etwas langsam Die Handtücher am Pool waren eig immer leer wurden einen auf Anfrage aber immer sofort gebracht. Es fehlt leider wirklich ein Kühlschrank im Zimmer Und als Hinweis ... der Supermarkt gegenüber hat geschlossen

Super hôtel!! Très joli, très confortable, le personnel est adorable et aux petits soins sans en faire trop. Tout est étudié dans le détail pour que l’expérience soit au top et elle l’est. La vue sur la lagune est magnifique, super terrasse dans la chambre avec vue. Baignoire avec vue au top. Le cadre est vraiment charmant. Le personnel est super gentil, souriant et serviable. (On a eu un problème de voiture et ils nous ont aidé avec beaucoup de gentillesse sous 35 degrés, sans compter leur temps ni leur investissement alors qu’on était déjà quasiment partis…c’est rare!).

L’emplacement est superbe, à l’entrée de Bacalar. L’accès à la lagune est très agréable. La terrasse avec la piscine est aussi très appréciable. L’hôtel est très beau et nous avions une très belle vue de notre suite. Le restaurant est délicieux et nous recommandons la pêche du jour en croûte de sel… Les petits déjeuners sont aussi magnifiques et bons. Le personnel est au petit soin.

Il y a une construction en cours à côté. Cela ne nous a pas dérangé pour le bruit car dans la journée nous n’étions pas à l’hôtel mais il serait bien de prévoir une façon de cacher la vie du chantier notamment de notre suite (12) en mettant des brises vue.

We were a group of 6. It was an amazing experience right from the beginning . The deck on the water is amazing to relax at. Finally the staff and service is excellent. One of the best I have experienced. Super convenient, quick to respond and the sweetest gestures to make you feel at home. They went out of their way to make us comfortable and our stay special. Would highly recommend.

Das Personal ist sehr nett und die Anlage ist in einem guten Zustand. Der Blick auf die Lagune ist natürlich toll.

Die Lage. Wenn man auf der Durchreise ist, ist es sicherlich sehr gut weil man sehr unkompliziert direkt davor parken kann. Aber für alle anderen Zwecke isr es suboptimal. Es ist weder so ruhig gelegen wie viele andere Hotels, noch direkt an der Stadt, sodass man dort zu Fuß hingehen kann. Direkt neben den Hotels sind angrenzende Häuser bzw. eine Baustelle. Darüberhinaus hört man ständig die Straße. Das nimmt dem Ganzen etwas Charme und die Ruhe. Die Betten sind leider zu klein für zwei Personen. Es gibt zwei einzelne Zimmer direkt an der Lagune, die sicher herausstechen, aber die restlichen Zimmer halte ich für den Preis für ziemlich überteuert.

La habitación muy linda, pero me pareció difícil la entrada a la misma ya que hay una puerta corrediza y un mosquitero que al abrirse da a una lámpara de pie, casi siempre chocábamos con esa lámpara.

El desayuno es sabroso pero a pesar del calor que hay en el lugar y que viene tapado con campana, llegó frío, eso le quita mucho para que se disfrute.

Hermoso lugar al pie de la laguna de Bacalar con vistas excepcionales, personal muy atento, la comida del chef deliciosa y muy bien presentada.

The restaurant never answered the phone for room service. The room did not have ANY comfortable chairs for sitting or eating. Partial lagoon view also has a terrible view of local homes next door. Bar is hidden in back and not any place you can enjoy the views. Staff was ok but did not always complete requests. I couldn’t get additional bottles of water that I asked for twice.

(Attention aux chambres en rez de chaussée ) Grande amabilité du staff , également pour réserver les taxis et les excursions

Petit déjeuner commandé à 8h qui n’était toujours pas livré à 8h25. Toasts parfois succincts. Un peu éloigné du centre historique de Bacalar, et donnant sur la grande route un peu sonore. (Mais les taxis pour y accéder très accessibles : 2€ par trajet!)

Everything was perfect. The room is beautiful, just like the pictures. It was very comfortable, and the deck in front of the room was our favourite spot. The food was excellent!! We did not want to leave the hotel because we felt like we were at home.

An extra-large bed would be make it even more perfect.

Couldn't fault our stay, it was perfect! The location is in the best spot along the water and just a 10 minute drive into town. There is a whole lot to do in town, so it was great to be by the lagoon. Staff were incredible and the food was amazing.

My only criticism would be the aircon made the room smell a bit mouldy, however, I also noticed this in all our accomodation in Mexico so I don't believe it was exclusive to this hotel.

Very friendly staff and an amazing chef and kitchen. We tried a couple of places in the city centre, but the best food was at the hotel. We stayed in two different rooms upstairs, and both were excellent. The hotel itself was very nice, right on the lake, and close to the main attractions. For the lagoon boat tour, they picked us up directly from the hotel, which was very convenient. Overall, our experience was great.

The only downside was a bit of traffic noise in the back room we stayed in, as the hotel is close to the highway.

This hotel is almost but not quite. It could be so much better with more attention to detail and less on the superficial niceties. The suite itself is clean, spacious with great views over the lake. The majority of the rooms run along the side of the building overlooking a truly ugly old motel style monstrosity. The ground floor rooms seemed have little privacy with their baths in clear sight, a metre ir two from the only thoroughfare connecting the hotel. Very weird. They use WhatsApp as their only communication with guests and wait times can be very hit and miss. It took 20 minutes and a chase from me to get some ice. The room whilst spacious, only had 4 clothes hangers and when requesting more, looked surprised when we requested 15 more. Eventually 8 arrived. Bearing in mind the wardrobe is over a metre wide. Why not simply supply more. Especially as we were staying for three nights. Lastly in respect to the room, why isn’t there a fridge….. They also don’t provide additional towels as standard for use by the pool. The ones in the room barely cover the back of the sunbed. Using the WhatsApp to request more. Tumbleweed. So once again I had to physically collect two myself from reception. My final gripe would be not having breakfast as standard,

Beautiful hotel, exactly like the pictures!

Unfortunately, style over substance was what we found. The food was really not a great experience, which is a shame! This could really have been the perfect place if the food was good. The first night, everything looked extremely overcooked or reheated. The crab meat was super dry and brown, all the vegetables were dehydrated like when you put them without water on the microwave. The medium rare steak was extra well done. Guac and short rib tacos were good so that was the only thing we had when we ate at the hotel. They also double booked the private dinner experience on the day I booked months in advance for a special occasion and did NOTHING to compensate for having other people taking our place.

El hotel es hermoso, se respira una calma y tranquilidad excepcionales, el personal del hotel es de lo más gentil y amables, la comida del lugar es riquísima, nos hicieron upgrade y eso se agradece enormemente. Las habitaciones son preciosas, limpias,con los acabados y diseño que te hacen sentir en una atmósfera caribeña y relajada, las sábanas y almohadas se sentían de la mejor calidad para poder dormir. Las vistas a la laguna que tiene el hotel son magnificas! Sin duda volvería a regresar a este hotel.

Lo único que podríamos decir, es el ruido de la tipo sisterna de agua, cada que alguien utilizaba el agua en la habitación vecina se activaba y en ocasiones en la noche el ruido podía ser ligeramente molesto, Pero nada que nos pudiera perturbar nuestra excelente estancia.

The noise every night above our room was a bit disturbing.

We had an amazing time at Puerta del Cielo ! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. They even upgraded our room, which was such a wonderful surprise and the view was absolutely stunning! We tried everything on the restaurant menu, and every dish was delicious. The food was so good that when we checked out, we made sure to congratulate the chef personally, it was truly fantastic! The team was incredibly friendly, kind, and helpful, organizing everything we asked for . From jet ski rides and boat tours to a beautiful dinner on the Palapa. Every detail was taken care of with such care and attention. It was an amazing stay from start to finish, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bacalar!

Es un lugar que realmente vale la pena visitar, la habitación fue increible y el chef muy bueno en los alimentos, todo quedó como lo quisimos y fue realmente una estancia muy agradable, esperamos regresar pronto.

Wir waren in der Nebensaison hier & hatten einen wirklich wunderbaren Aufenthalt. Hier kann man schön zur Ruhe kommen - wir hatten ein tolles Zimmer mit Blick auf die Lagune (kostenloses Zimmerupgrade!). Das Personal ist zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir haben vom Hotel aus eine schöne Bootstour unternommen. Außerdem war das Essen hervorragend (gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis) und der Koch sehr freundlich! Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen 😊

La atención de todo el personal es inmejorable. El hotel es pequeño, pero muy agradable, limpio, cómodo y bonito. La comida es sensacional. Pero lo mejor, sin duda, es la atención al cliente que es impecable.
