Tally Ho Inn

Las instalaciones y el personal.

Todo perfecto.

We choose Tally ho for the location and the lake - the boat launch and a small pretty beach (both public) are literally beside the property. The cabin we stayed at was clean and comfortable and the lake view is very nice.

We have been coming to Tally ho for at least the last 18 years and the place has evolved over the years. It had a more friendly resort-cottage vibe back in the day. It's so impersonal now, you don't even have to come to the office to check in and out.

Great location

The houses need some love

Good location. Accept dogs for a fee. Dog park.

Poor attitude from one front desk staff member (maybe having a bad day). Cabin 12 does not have a/c - was very hot. We opened windows which was ok, but glad it was September and not July/August.

Wonderful view, rustic cabin but everything we needed and clean

Second time staying here it's a great little spot :)

The bed is terribly uncomfortable I slept on the couch 3 of the 4 nights

Location, Ambience, serene

Nothing

Location

Washrooms smell

The location is fantastic, I loved being able to see the lake from the cabin as well as having access to canoes etc.

Nothing really - it is fairly basic in terms of accommodation but that was clear from the description and we didn’t want for anything during our stay.

Great location, the cottage is clean, beds are comfortable and had everything we need. We enjoyed the kayaks and canoes that are included, the kids love the proximity to fishing. Excellent lakefront cottage and the view of Peninsula Lake is wonderful with amazing sunset . Sounds of the loons in the morning is so soothing. You feel so close to nature, yet it is easily accessible to the town if you ever need anything.

There is a small fee to use the BBQ, which I think should be included already for the price.

Great location. Right on the lake.

Needs some TLC like painting and general upkeep. Looks rundown and could be much better with some effort. One of the first cottages you see has paint falling off of it. A shame really. The room inside was perfect and clean.

Location is very nice

No AC at Westview 23

Location ideal , facilities , cleanliness , comfortably rustic , on site food truck Affordable , pets allowed

Portal check in app was not easy to navigate. Bed mattress could have been more comfortable

Gute Internetverbindung.

Outdoors facilities - nice and spacious, very nice beach. Water sports and amenities.

Close to the road - noise. No AC.

This was my third visit to this beautiful property. While I love the location and the overall environment, I feel compelled to share some feedback regarding the front desk service, which I hope will be taken constructively. I had previously noted some service inconsistencies during my second stay, but unfortunately, I did not experience much improvement this time. There were two specific instances during this visit where a more professional and welcoming approach would have made a significant difference: First, prior to my arrival, I sent an inquiry through Booking.com regarding extra blankets and canoe operating hours. Regrettably, I did not receive a response, which made planning our stay a bit difficult. Second, when we arrived around noon on Saturday, June 27th, I approached the front desk to ask about our cottage location so we could park correctly. The older female staff member with glasses working at the desk simply told me to go outside and ask the people there. Given that the other individuals outside were also guests, they naturally could not guide me to my assigned cottage. This property has so much potential, and the rest of the experience is quite pleasant. I sincerely hope management will invest in professional customer service training for the front desk staff, ensuring that their hospitality fully matches the high quality of this beautiful estate.

It was a pretty spot our room had the giant bath tub which was wonderful. We had a relaxing stay and would like to book again in the fall

Nothing

The lake, nature and the ducks

Lots of mosquitoes, need a bug spray.

Really clean inside and very comfortable bed

Have a link to check out via email or text.

Location, staff was nice, free kanus, nets on windows, chipmunks and squirels running around, parking close to cabin, cabin was comfortable

Very private. The room was clean and overall surrounding was very pleasant

Always clean, pleasant staff, v responsive to

Noise from vehicles

Beautiful location and the cottages were updated and beautiful.

I come here often, great location and quiet.

I purchased prior to my arrival two bags of wood to avoid a detour. Upon arrival all wood at the front lobby was sold out. We still ended up having to go in to tow to purchase wood. In the future wood should be able to be purchased online if they cannot guarantee that wood be put aside for them upon arrival.

All was as expected based on previous trips.

No hot water on second morning?

Just love this feeling of living right by the lake in these cute cabins that were very functional.

Self-checking sometimes could be a bit of a challenge.

It was a lovely cabin. Comfortable bed Nice view

Property came equipped with a micro / fridge. On route to the property I grabbed some breakfast. Come morning went to draws and no utensils. Went to office at 8.30am and no staff. called the out of hours number and the member of staff was less than interested. Couldn’t care less thy I had no utensil and said I should have bought my own.

Location and views

Checking in system was confused, had msg in April to advise that I would receive a check in email 2 days before, but not received and chased on the morning of our stay to be told I would receive an email at 3pm, no email received so phoned and told the information was on the portal- may be a new system but customers need to be told

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. After we checked out, the property charged an extra $200 without any explanation. There was no damage to the room, and we left everything in good condition. When we contacted them to ask why this charge was applied, we received no response at all. This lack of transparency and customer service is unacceptable. Guests should be clearly informed about any additional fees in advance. I would not recommend staying here.

Location was unreal

Everything was “too” old but I say it is part of the place’s charm.

The property was overall pretty, it gave me cottage vibes

Nothing really I just wish we came with sunny skies to be outside more

This resort of various cottages is probably a bustling place in summer months...we came in April as a getaway because they have some cottages with wood fireplaces and the snow was rapidly disappearing, so a little road trip sounded good. The fireplace kindling we bought from them was in a sealed bag and would not ignite as it was damp, thankfully we had brought a bit of our own wood to get things started ...once we gad a fire going we noticed the fireplace screens do not completely cover the opening so we had to leave the doors closed for safety reasons. The tv remote was missing and they brought a replacement which didn't work but she managed to get the tv on using manual buttons on the tv...now we used the satellite remote to control channels, but we had no volume control...they assured us the volume would work but it did not. Finally, we asked for some deck chairs to sit on the little deck but apparently maintenance was too busy to get them out of storage Our cost for the cabin with taxes and wet wood..without proper tv and no chairs was just under $200. Not worth it and won't recommend.

The location was great.

The mattress in the room was absolutely horrible. It was like sleeping on a table. If it wasn't so cold, I probably would have slept in the car.

Beautifully located at the edge of a lake

Schön eingerichtet und sauber. Man konnte Feuer im Kamin anzünden. Herrliche Atmosphäre.

Kein Besteck

This is the second time we have been to Tally Ho Inn. It is very peaceful and serene on the property. It's a short drive to Algonquin Park and we can bring our dogs. I recommend Tally Ho Inn to people all the time and will continue to do so. We will be back!

Everything is so relaxing & if you need to run into town it’s a short drive to Huntsville definitely would recommend this place to anyone just trying to get away without being too far from town if need be.

Bed was comfortable. BBQ was very clean, cottage was very clean.

We were in a big old house which is what we like

Othing

Loved the cabin and the space in #25.

We went intending to cook all of our meals and we're disappointed to have only 1 small cooking pot, no cutting board, and no large bowl for salad. Our friends in another cabin had 2 cutting boards....perhaps some redistribution is needed!... Our visit was during the winter and a boot tray would have been nice to have a well. Fortunately we brought extra towels to wipe the floor.

Directly on the snowmobile trail

No ice for drinks. Kettle in the room, no tea.

Location and cozy . It had access to the lake for ice fishing. The last time we came it seemed like the friendliness of the staff had definitely changed.

Lights in one room needed fixing and in the 2nd bathroom no light. We asked about the skating rink they told us it was not there priority. That was disheartening because the grandkids wanted to skate . The fire wood was very expensive.

I Always come back to this place

The heating can be loud

Le foyer était génial. Très bel emplacement aussi.

Le coin cuisine très minimaliste.

The room was clean and comfortable with a nice view of the lake. Booking and check in/out wee all on line and easy.

I had no issues.

Friendly staff, good location, clean

I liked the grounds they were large could play frisbee and lot of grass area.

I did not like the old furniture, I did not like that was not great swing set for children.

The cottages are not clean. They need renovation

Cleaness and the comfort of the cottage. They can do much better as the location is great but the cottages need updates.

The location was great for where we needed to go.

Lage direkt am See, kayak zur Verfügung

Abgenutzte alte Stoffsofa, schlechtes durchgegangenes Bett, Wiese ungepflegt. Anlage veraltet und abgenutzt

Location was good, the property was right on the lake and the window of our unit faced the lake. It was pleasant to go kayaking or canoeing in the lake. The water in the lake was clean and clear.

The curtains for our window could not fully cover the window, leaving a one foot gap, so it’s a privacy issue. There is a lamp post right outside our unit and the light comes into our unit at night through the large gap in the curtains. The office staff we encountered was not the most friendly in attitude. We were two families of three, and each family booked a unit. However, the office staff would not let us sign out 6 kayaks since we are a “big” group. We were only allowed to take 4 kayaks out between the 6 of us. There were more than enough kayaks available on the beach, and we were not made aware of any such rule. It seems unfair we are unable to go kayaking all together as a group just because we are travelling as a group but made our bookings separately, resulting in someone having to be left out when there are spare kayaks lying on the beach. Also, there was disgusting red mold along the foot of the shower curtain. It should be replaced.

I received the entry code via text at 3 PM for a 4 PM check-in, which felt quite last-minute and added a bit of unnecessary stress. Relying on a text message—especially so close to check-in—can be difficult if someone doesn’t have immediate access to their phone, or if there are issues with reception or battery life. It would be much more reassuring to receive this information earlier, or to have a backup method available (like an email or a contact person to call). I understand things are becoming more automated, but when you’re arriving somewhere and unsure about access, not having human contact can feel pretty isolating.

We have stayed here for four winters now. The location is lovely and it’s a quick drive wherever you’d like to go. The place is cottage-y but clean and comfortable. This last stay we had trouble with a new heating system in a cottage we had stayed in before not being able to keep the whole building warm. The front desk staff offered immediate short-term help and the manager, Pascale, was amazing at helping us come up with a solution to stay that took into account the heating issue that meant we couldn’t enjoy the whole cottage.

New heating system needs some help to maintain heat throughout the large cottage.

RAS

Everything:)

Very clean and surprisingly quiet. Had one of my best sleeps in a long time. I will be back. Staff were great and the fireplace was a nice touch

Easy to locate. Spacious, clean. Lake front. Easy for a one nighter.

Very dated. Looks like it was a great little old school family resort, back in its hay day. Fixtures, beds, couch, deck, bathroom and amenities very dated. If someone could invest in this, and bring it back, I’m sure it would do well.

Room 18, the view was excellent and very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Didn't have

Lage am See war perfekt!

Location was great. A lovely and relaxing hotel on a nice lake.

Maybe a bit more storage for food items in the area near the fridge.
