Peaceful
Posizione incredibile sul mare del Coromandel.. dopo una notte di pioggia cielo blu e mare meraviglioso
Nulla
Just what we needed to stay for a night
Not enough blankets as the units are quite cold due to it being lifted from the ground. So mot very well insulated.
La posizione
La camera era molto fredda, il bagno gelido. Probabilmente è meglio organizzata per l'estate
The park is absolutely stunning and so clean. It was peaceful and the location is amazing
Clean and comfortable, close to the beach and a large room. Complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, tea and milk included. Showers were warm and clean.
Fantastic place and scenery. I hope to visit Hahei again and enjoy longer. Clean rooms, convinent traffic, free parking and kind staffs.
Nothing! Everything is perfect.
Location
Tired and run down unit. Poor value for money.
A comfortable stay away from noises and close to cathedral cove n hit water beach
Unless you are going to Hahei during the six week summer season, DO NOT under any circumstances go to this park. Facilities are either closed or a long way away from where they put you, nowhere to sit inside or keep warm to eat meals, internet is almost non-existent, so don't even try to use it, showers on a strict 5 minute timer that requires 2 -3 minutes to heat up then a 2 minute penalty time until hot water comes back. After this terrible experience, I learned there is a high-quality Top. 10 park at Hot Water Beach close by, best to go there.
Der Bungalow war sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir konnten spontan eine zweite Nacht buchen. Die Lage an diesem fantastischen Strand ist wunderschön.
Right on the beach which was so lovely. The cabins were nice a little dated but clean and had good facilities. Being a holiday park you have access to washing facilities which is great. A short drive or good walk to shops, cafes and restaurants. Shuttle bus and water taxi available to visit Cathedral Cove (well worth the walk down to it)
All good
Bungalow was incredible fit for my family of four. Ability to see the milky was was fantastic.
The staff
There were spiders lol and the hot tub wasn't open
Convenient to where we needed to be. Close to cathedral cave hike. Quaint accommodation.
location near Cathedral Cove.

A beautiful waterfront property. Very luxurious and comfortable. Loved to step outside the door and walk to the beach and the few restaurants and stores were very close down the street. Our two bedroom unit was spacious with comfortable beds. A short drive to Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove.
The only thing we didn’t like was the proximity to our neighbours on either side. They both had children and they were very noisy and riding their scooters right outside our unit.
Lots of space, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and sofas. The staff were friendly and helpful and the beach was really close.
The kitchen tap dripped
The amenities, view, comfort, space. It was perfect for our family
Our initial reception was a little chirpy. We arrived an hour early and we knew we would have to wait but it could have been a bit more politely handled
Great location.
Needs to be upgraded especially in the kitchen
The eateries onsite were very handy and delicious
Nothing
One of the best camp grounds in NZ, the staff are wonderful, the amenities are always clean and tidy and it is the most beautiful location. We camped for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Can't recommend enough!
Locatie en van alle gemakken voorzien.
The location was very good
When we arrived the upstairs ranchslider was wide open - we quickly realised it was left open to try and mask the musty smell in the apartment. Clearly there are some issues with the apartment It was disappointing that the hot tub outside the apartments wasn't working - the spa was one of the reasons for booking the apartment
fantastic place but regretably only a short stay wishing we could of stayed longer all with EHU washing line all included right next to the beach breathtaking view
We enjoyed our stay in the Sea View Villa at the Hahei Beach Resort. The unit was very comfortable with a specular view. The staff was accommodating and understanding in making a necessary change to our room. Thank you.
Comfortable, clean and quiet accommodation in an awesome location.
We stayed two nights in a garden studio which was clean, very comfortable and had a good shower. Plenty of tea/coffee provided. It was unfortunate that the weather was appalling on the day we arrived and continued to the next day. However, The Deck did have some cover and we were able to have pizzas/fish and chips under cover. They offer gluten free bases also (am Coeliac). The pizzas were that good we had them two nights on the trot. My partner also had fish and chips which he also said were very good. Lovely beach and good place to stay. Helpful and friendly staff.
Beautiful views, super close to the beach.
The location is great for the beach and Cathedral Cove, the resort has great facilities and the vibes are great at night.
The vegetation is too dense, sometimes caught in branches when entering and leaving the cabin! Some corners could be cleaner.
Large resort in a super location at the back of a stunning beach and within easy reach of shops and restaurants. However, no need to travel too far as there is an excellent bar on site and superb pizzas served by very friendly staff. Fortunately we were camping at a quiet time of year and it wasn't too crowded. The facilities are very good, well maintained and clean. Would highly recommend staying here as there are lots of places to visit in the area and it is one of the prettiest spots on the Coromandel coast.
Toilets are clean, nice staff, affordable, what can you ask for? Definitely worth the money.
Location great. Room was very old and the whole place needs a makeover. Staff average. Room cleaned just prior to arrival but forgot leave towels $230 for the night was totally over the top. Crap will never go back
I’ve stayed at many campgrounds over the years, including some really lovely ones, but this has to be my favourite so far. We were in Site 17 right on the beachfront, which was absolutely beautiful with a great view and easy access to a stunning beach. The staff were all wonderful, so friendly and helpful. We actually had a small issue where our stabiliser spring came off as we were leaving. We didn’t realise until we got to Tairua, but when we called, a kind male staff member went out in the rain and quite a distance to check for it so my husband could return and pick it up. That level of service really stood out. I also loved the bar area, along with the woodfire pizza and burger setup. It created such a great family atmosphere. You can grab a coffee from the little shop by the camp office, which was a nice touch. The whole campground is beautifully maintained, with well kept gardens and lawns. There’s also a nice easy walk to the pā site nearby, and Hahei shops are just down the road if you need anything. We met some really lovely like minded people during our stay. I would absolutely recommend this place and would happily return.
The first thing is a noon check-in. 😀 Across both islands none of the sites of the sites we have used have had a noon check-in. (Tick) Our welcome was warm and informative. The receptionist explained that the onsite bar and eatery doesn't open at the moment of a Monday or Tuesday but that isn't a problem as the local shops, bar and eatery are a short 10 minute walk. We had booked a powered beachfront pitch for our last two days exploring New Zealand and we weren't disappointed. The view from the rear window was perfect. (Picture 1) However a short walk to the golden beach and the view expands and just gets better. The amenities were very good with a large kitchen that we used one evening and several toilet & shower blocks that were well maintained and clean. The last day we walked to Cathedral Cove. We couldn't do the initial part of the walk from the beach as the DOC has closed it due to the recent weather but the short walk to the shops is the long step walk to the drop off place for the park & ride parking. Cathedral Cove did not disappoint and with a good mobile phone camera you are able to remove the large amount of visitors 🤣 If we ever visit New Zealand again I would definitely book to stay the park again.
This year after trying the Sauna Ora experience we were treated to a show of dolphins jumping and splashing in the bay as we swam. The Beach Bach's are great for friends and family. 3 bedrooms with a full kitchen/lounge area plus a big front area for the kids to play. Plus the bar & takeaways to make the holiday even easier!
We were lucky enough to book the Sea Front Villa, ideal for 2 couples or a family. (There was just myself & my husband) Very spacious and practical amenities with everything you could possibly need. Recycling removed daily. Newly carpeted so that was a bonus. Bathrooms a little tired but I’m sure they will be re done in the near future. Love the vibe at the bar and while we didn’t have food this time from what friends were eating it looked delicious. Easy check in/check out. I think we will be back yearly (this was our 2nd year)
Der Strand ist einzigartig! Auch die Ruhe (Mitte März)!

Clean & comfortable accommodation. Well equipped. Plenty of information provided about the area. The location was exceptional. Plenty of parking space.
The onsite shop closed at 4pm. Prices at the onsite food establishment were very high.
I recently stayed in the self-contained cabins at a resort in Hahei and, unfortunately, my experience with the accommodation was very disappointing. The unit was in extremely poor condition it felt dirty, poorly maintained, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. To make matters worse, I found a used towel with bodily fluids behind the bathroom door, and the entire unit had a strong unpleasant smell. I reported this to the manager, who asked me to wait before moving me to another unit. However, no immediate action was taken beyond an apology. When I was eventually moved, the second self-contained cabin was also not properly cleaned. The bathroom had visible stains on the toilet, mould in the shower, and marks around the sink clearly below acceptable hygiene standards. On a positive note, we had a burger at the resort that was absolutely delicious, very affordable, and the service there was excellent definitely the highlight of the stay. Overall, the lack of cleanliness and maintenance significantly impacted my experience, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously to improve their standards.
The beach was just amazing. Truly right on one of New Zealand’s best beaches. Cute (small) beach town within easy walking distance. We also loved the fun camp-bar vibe and mingling with all the other travellers - young backpackers, families, and retirees, all very harmonious.
The actual accommodation was a funny (although perfectly nice) beach cottage from the 60s, attached to a new campground. Most residents were campers in vans/tents. Visitors from the US and Canada will be familiar with the type of place. Nothing bad, just not exactly what we had expected.
We had a great experience at the resort. The location is ideal and our room was very quiet and comfortable. We had a tire problem on our rental car and asked about where we could air up our tire. They said we could use their air pump and a couple workers even changed our tire for as after we figured out we needed to put the spare on. Highly recommend this resort.
We had a beachside pitch for a motorhome and the views were amazing! Facilities are just what you’d expect and there’s a little convenience store about 10 minutes walk from site. Great place to stay!
Lovely location
Affected by noise from unit above, could hear movements from above unit.
Clean & comfy bed. BBQ outside Easy walk to beach & town
Our favourite camp ground in NZ. Most beautiful beach and great facilities. Even an on-site burger & pizza & beer garden. The best!!👍🏻👍🏻
Well maintained holiday park with level sites on grass. Great for tents, caravans or motorhomes. Generous sites, most powered. Toilets, showers, kitchens, a shop and fridge and freezer spaces, salted ice for your catch of the day. Bar is open after 4pm and serves burgers etc. Very friendly and helpful staff. Right next to a gently sloping, sandy beach. This might become our go-to place. Hahei has nice shops, restaurants and a local brewery pub, making excellent beer and gin and good food. Plenty of things to do.
A well managed resort with lots of facilities, plenty of trees, and easy access to an amazing east-coast beach. We stayed in a camper van - the resort also has tent sites, and many cabins of varying level of luxury. I recommend one of the beach-side sites if you can get it. If you can't get a beach-side site for your whole stay, you can ring and arrange to move between sites. The resort is well managed - everything is clean and tidy. When we needed help, there was always someone available to answer the phone. When you book, make sure you're clear whether you want a powered site or a non-powered site. It's not the sort of resort you go to if you want to not see people - it's reasonably densely packed, and because it's a big resort, there are lots of people staying there during peek season.
Fantastic place to stay in a stunning location. The accommodation options suit a range of needs, the facilities are excellent, and everything is very well organised and well resourced. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant creates a great atmosphere for fun evenings. A wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the area. The beach is right there, an easy walk and close to the cafes! We would definitely return and we highly recommend it Anne MB
Beautiful place. Extremely friendly atmosphere, very well kept, spacious places for a campervan. The beach right in front so amazing. And the bar, pizza and burger eatery is not only delicious but a really great spot to spend the evening. Toilets, showers, laundry all there and clean, even quite new.
Great spot! Our cabin had everything we needed and the beach was a two minute walk. Excellent pizza! Classic Kiwi holiday, esp. good for families.
We enjoyed our stay, camping in our tent. The site was perfect, not too far from the beach yet sheltered from strong wind. The beach is stunning and good for swimming. Campground facilities are basic but clean. The kitchen we used was spotless with little extras like towels available. We enjoyed the bar and burger venue, very nice with an outdoor fireplace. We really liked the casual vibe of this place.
We stayed in Villa #1 for our last three days of a month long vacation exploring New Zealand’s north and south Islands. This was the perfect ending stay to a wonderful vacation. From our villa we could watch the sun rise AND set! The beautiful soft sand was only a few steps from our front porch giving us an unobstructed view of the gorgeous waters and rock formations of Hahei beach and a quick walk to enjoy the sand and surf. The villa was clean, bright and had a well outfitted kitchen. The beds were comfortable, the shower was awesome and the bathroom even had a large jacuzzi tub! The dining area and sitting area both had that one in a million view also! Waking up in the morning to a wall of windows looking over the water was one of the best mornings I have ever had. Having the bar, entertainment and food right at the campground was a great no fuss option! We could have booked a hot tub on the dune or had a ssauna but never got to it. We left hahei completely rejuvenated from all our travel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peace and quiet and that little piece of ‘heaven on earth’!
We had a powered site overlooking the beach. Lovely position. Good bathroom facilities. Nice to have a bar on site - nice atmosphere in evenings. Also available was a cafe and ice creams. Recommended site, Short walk up to village where there are a few shops and bars. Definitely would stay again.
The resort is very well laid out, in a perfect location next to the beach, and has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Our Coastal Cabin was a good size; the beds were comfortable; the showers were hot and strong; the room and bathroom were very clean; and the resort's facilities were great. We had a very yummy pizza from Woody's for dinner. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially when we discovered that we had left our passports in our room. They went out of their way to assist us and, as a result, our passports were couriered to our next destination. We are so grateful to them. We wished we were able to stay much longer than 1 night, but we will definitely come back to this beautiful place.
Amazing beach to camp at - our campsite was well sheltered from the wind, and we loved how close it was to the beach. Well catered for site with the toilets and showers handy. We enjoyed one pizza meal and a drink at the bar on our last night - very luxurious for a camping trip! The staff were helpful at the front desk, and we had a lovely soak in the hot tub on the last night. Great to have freezers available to refreeze our cool packs, and the kitchen facilities were ample and clean (although we did most our cooking at our campsite, we used the kitchen for washing dishes).
Awesome location! Very comfortable room with everything you need! Comfortable bed. The garden studios have complimentary washer and dryer!
I liked everything about this property!
Location with easy access to the beach and restaurants on site.
The shower: small and poor curtain/door. Warmth and water pressure were very decent though.
Nice Campervan site right on the beach and easy access to cathedral cove walking trail. Only a short drive to Hot Water beach.
It was our first time to Hahei and it certainly didn't disappoint. We found the sites at the Hahei Resort of a generous size. The added bonus of a pub and pizza/burger facilities on site was fabulous and delicious. Beach access was easy. We loved the fact you could walk the beach line to stairs that led to the most magical views up at the Hereheretaura Pa. We would recommend watching the sunrise from this spot. Walking to Cathedral Cove from the camp was another highlight certainly good to get the lungs working. Then a must is the Pour house for a cheeky code red irish ale that could be mistaken for a guinness. We experience the culinary delight of The Church... for that romantic dinner this is a must. Thank you Hahei we loved our stay ❤️
What a great time we had. The campsite has everything for the perfect holiday. We stayed in a basic cabin, plenty of room for 2 with all the basics needed. Kitchen, showers and laundry directly in front. Bar with pizzas/ burgers was great in the evening. Hahei village only a few mins walk away...lovely cafes etc. Highly recommend
Great location to spend a couple of days. Campground is very well maintained, the ammenities are very clean, the cook kitchen well organised, bbq are available as well. Ice cream van, bar and two food options on site. Big serve of Fish and Chips!
A huge holiday park accommodating campers, trailers, cabins, glamping and studio garden and sea view suites. We had a garden view suite. Very comfortable Queen bed only, comfortable couch, fully equipped kitchenette with stove, fridge, kettle, toaster, coffee plunger! Milk provided for tea or coffee. Bathroom with shower only. TV with adequate channels! Suites have included shared laundry. Laundry powder in the room. Balcony with seating. Located right on Hahei Beach. They even provide beach towels! I loved this place and I wished we had stayed here longer!
This campground was amazing. My wife and I are on our honeymoon (were from the States) in New Zealand and doing a camper van trip from Auckland to Queenstown. This was one of our first stops after leaving Auckland but we already know it will be in the top 3 places we stay on our 20 day trip. We got a beach front site, and it did not disappoint. The site was about 30 steps from a surreal beach front. The site was clean and we had plenty of space. We got some pizza and beers from the campground Pizza stand and bar. My wife is a pizza snob and rated the pizza a 7 out of 10. For context she's only given 2 places in the States above an 8, so the pizza is really good. We got the prosciutto and rocket pizza and then the Hawaiian. The staff was really nice and friendly at check in. Asked a few questions about the surrounding area and they had all the answers we needed. There's nothing bad that I could say about this place. 10/10 would stay here again. Hopefully we make it back to NZ one day.
What a great place to start of the tour of new Zealand, I would highly recommended this site, the people are a great help, clean toilets and showers, only thing I would say would be to shop before you get there, there is a small convience store which is OK and next door there's a coffee shop that a must visit, especially breakfast time👌 👌 There's things for everyone on this site, even a pizza and burger bar👋
We stayed for a couple of nights in a Coastal cabin. They have a variety of different accommodation options. Some of their cabins do not have en suite facilities and you have to use communal showers and loos. Ours did have its own bathroom as well as the commonly found kitchenette and a nice outside deck with picnic table. Although not in any way lacking, we felt that our accommodation showed every sign of being at the end of the season where things were coming apart and wearing a little. It wasn't especially big although it was adequate for the two of us. Coastal cabins are well located, well equipped and functional rather than elegant. In terms of location, you just turn right out of your cabin, follow the footpath for less than 100 yards through the dunes and you are on a gorgeous beach. If you are a beach lover, then this could not be much better. We went to sleep each evening to the sound of waves on the seashore. There are thoughtfully provided washing lines outside each cabin and there is also an on site payable laundrette with a large communal drying area. Just a few steps away is "the deck" with a bar and pizza or burger place as well as communal barbecues. Very pleasant for enjoying a sundowner but if you want more nutritious or substantial food, you can cook for yourself or visit the pub or restaurant in the village. There are also some more up market units but these were fully booked. There are also numerous camp sites and RV parking plots on site, some with power hook ups. Everyone was very friendly. In the locality there is the world famous Cathedral cove, made immortal by the opening photo on just about every Windows 10 computer. The coastal path to get there had crumbled into the sea so we had to yomp over the headland road and path. Probably around an hour and quite a few uphills and downhills. Alternatively there is a water taxi service at quite a cost. Hot water beach is a short drive away. There is so much more to enjoy and we were sad that we had to move on. If you are looking for a "chic" Cote d'Azur experience, then forget it. If you are looking for a good value, functional experience that is perfect for the beach, then this could be for you.
We have just enjoyed ANOTHER week at the beautiful Hahei Beach resort. We come at this time every year, so we can enjoy the superb beach and indulge in a great St. Valentines' dinner at the excellent, nearby, Church Bistro. We can thoroughly recommend the Garden Studio Units and the great Hamburgers and Pizzas available at the on- site "Deck". Cooks Beach, Pauanui, Hot Water Beach and Whitianga all with a short drive of the Resort, making it a great place to base yourself in the Coromandel.
Lovely campsite with clean toilets and showers and lots of room for campers, they have washing machines and dryers (2 x $2 coins per wash and dry cycle), plus a cafe and restaurant if you so desire. The staff were friendly and really helpful. Make sure you bring a mosquito net/bug spray because the mosquitos were out in force! Plenty of kitchens and places to wash dishes. Plus free wifi! Super convenient location, we would definitely stay here again!
Proximity to the hot water beach and cathedral cove
No cooker and no dishwasher
This is a fantastic campsite right on Hahei Beach. It is very well organised and managed with excellent facilities. We had a wonderful couple of nights on a beach front site with our motorhome.
This is a very well run, clean and tidy site. The positioning is brilliant and despite being completely full when we arrived we were eagerly welcomed and well inducted by the reception. Our site was very good and nicely positioned. This was a public holiday so lots going on. Once the crowds had left it was idyllic for us and the coast is ( we think) the best we have seen so far. The water taxi to Cathedral cove is pricey but as one of us has slight mobility issues then worth it to visit. We stayed for 4 hours. More able could walk ( the short track is currently closed). Overall a fantastic stay and would love to revisit.
Hahei is our new home away from home, we stayed up in the first light glamping through the resort, super hidden from the streets and perfect if you want some peace and quiet, best views of the ocean and the stars at night. Definitely a rustic type of vibe and so tranquil. Only damper was all the insects, heaps of moths and found a family of katipo spiders in the sink on arrival which definitely spooked us the rest of the trip. Few possums kept us awake at night but that’s camping in coro iykyk. 2 nights is perfect length of time up in the tent. Staff were super friendly and helpful, accommodating to our needs . Highlight of the trip was definitely bar hei, amaaaaazing food and not too pricy, great vibes, great drinks and just perfect for a chill beach bar/restaurant with good music. Highly recommend bar hei was 5stars
Amazing location Atmosphere is very family oriented and safe Clean in general Amenities needs upgrading as it is ageing.
Hahei Beach Resort has an amazing location, right in front of Hahei Beach, so you really can’t beat the view or the convenience. The facilities (restrooms and showers) are clean and well maintained. Even though they seem a bit limited for the size of the campground, I never had to wait in line at any time. The onsite bar is a big plus, offering drinks, pizzas, burgers, and snacks. For families, it’s great to enjoy some time without having to prepare meals. Campsites are well laid out, the staff is friendly, and the houses/cabins are clean and well cared for. A couple of points for improvement: I visited during the Waitangi holiday, and out of the three shower blocks, I could only get consistent hot water in one of them. Friends in our group experienced the same issue, so it wasn’t just me. The BBQs are also limited and highly used (one of them was without gas for two days). It’s also on the expensive side compared to other campgrounds. Overall, despite these small issues, we had a great stay and I definitely recommend it.
This was our third stay & we really enjoy the campsite, all very clean & tidy. The only slight disappointment was the bar/pizza/burger place was closed on the Monday which conflicted with what the website said. Overall though highly recommend 5*
Great holiday destination. Loved the beach, easy access, the Deck for dinner and a relaxing drink was awesome. Staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks Jo for the friendly service at reception then again at the burger bar.
Really nice place and so close to the beach. All amenities are just right although the showers may get a bit busy in peak season. The on site pub is also really handy. Thanks
This is an outstanding campground. The amenities are well placed, the proximity to the beach is perfect! We really love this place!
