Al Shahba Hotel Makkah

I love it, best price, best service, and best people

Room was ok but there is no drinking water bottles no tea bags coffee and no sugar for well come We stayed for a week no house keeping at all We asked for clean towels and toilet roll during stay Nobody came to change bedsheets and emptying bins Flush water tank keep leaking and making too noise They gave only one card for room to enter as soon we left room all lights Ac everything turned off and when we returned back to room too hot and muggy Tv remote batteries need to change Fridge door need to be fixed Anyway close to haram but bit sloppy street to go haram Very busy road and loads of shops restaurants around

4 stars mostly because it is close to the Haram. There is a uphill to walk to get there and it takes about 15 minutes but if you're in good physical health it shouldn't be too hard. The staff was kind and helpful. The room itself was pretty small, not very spacious but if you want to be close to the haram on a budget then this hotel is an option. There's lots of hotels closer to the masjid on the same street so you can check that out yourself in person, though rates may be slightly higher. The area was nice, lots of shops and food around, just take a walk and keep google maps with you. It is a loud and busy street but i didn't mind.

We booked this hotel last minute for umrah last week. I was happy that we found a hotel and it look reasonable from reading the review. However it is not suitable for anybody with mobility issues. It is a difficult walk to the haram however for youngsters with low budget it should be ok. There is no such a thing as customer service. We stayed for 7 days nobody even for once came to clean the room or provide fresh sheets or towels. Not even to empty the bins. We had to ask for toilet roll from the reception when we needed it. We asked for sugar the staff member laughed and said no sugar… you not even allowed to have a bite/ sips on the go in the reception area if you are waiting for Uber. Overall I do not think I will be going there again due to the way the staff behaves. The hotel was ok no bed bugs which I was worried about the most.

Hotel Review: Al Sahaba Makkah I stayed at Al Sahaba Makkah with my family for four nights during our holy trip to Makkah. The hotel is conveniently located near Masjid Al-Haram, within walking distance, or a short taxi ride costing 5-10 SAR. The rooms were clean and spacious, with basic amenities like towels, soap, shampoo, and an electric kettle with tea sachets. The staff was polite and helpful, adding to the overall pleasant experience. However, the hot water supply stopped after the first night, and the carpets in the room could benefit from a deep cleaning. Additionally, the road in front of the hotel is under construction until Ramadan, making luggage transport slightly inconvenient. Despite minor issues, the stay was enjoyable, with plenty of nearby shops and restaurants for added convenience. I recommend this hotel for its location and affordability, with hopes that management addresses these small concerns.

It was good for the price I paid.

I am giving five star grade as the bathroom was good, beds are clean, its close to the holy masjid and its very cheap. The service was good. They didnt appear to have hoovered the room, the tv snd fridge dont work and in general it's in a poor state of repair. This is a value hotel for you and your boys. Most wives living in the West would complain about the standards and the immediate surroundings. But like i said for the location its great value for 5 stars as you get what you pay for

Not good

It was amazing close to the Al Masjid AL haram

Better than I expected, although it is around 15/20 min walk from Al haram it was really affordable and had all the things you needed nearby. Inshallah I’ll stay here again when Allah calls me.

A cheap, not far from haram, option that has all the basic needs.

Porter for transportation of luggage and room service during your stay is important

Room was very small and it was not what we seen in the picture before came. So it’s not good

Too close to haram

Very helpful staff.

Terrible I stayed 3 days in 2 different rooms no house keeping I will never recommend to anyone

This place should not be inhabited by humans. There is roaches all over the place. It’s not clean the air condition does not work properly. Just FYI I didn’t stay at this place because of it bad condition .

Nice, safe and Quiet.

The check in process was very smooth, there’s no room service, the TV is outdated, I found three cockroaches in the room, overall, for solo traveller with low budget is a good option

Great

Its 7 minutes walk for Haram. Very quiet and peaceful place to live.

distance from destination

overall it is good

Brilliant

Overall good experience

For the price I paid I got everything I could get. It was great for a short stay. The window was broken, the staff were very friendly and changed our room. And when we changed rooms I forgot my Apple Watch in the room, when we told the staff in short while they were able to find it and they brought it back to our room.

Hi, I never had this type bad experience ever in my life. I can not believe that Hotels.com promote this type hotel in online. It was absolute rubbish, from beginning to end. When I came to counter and asked for my key, the guy was so rude. I believe he was Pakistani. "I said can I have my key please ". He reply me I don't understand English, you need to speak Urdu. I am a British citizen, I need to learn Urdu to stay in a Hotel. Toilet was so dirty, I can not explain. Please kindly check the pictures. 3 days nobody came to change, or even asked about anything. No Toilet tissues in the toilet. I definitely need compensation for my booking.

I like the position near to haram, about 15 min, the responsable is a very nice man, he helped me. Should make more effort in cleaning and maintenance.

Hotel is close to the haram. 15 mins walk up a hill. It is outdated and could do with renovation. Otherwise for a solo traveller it was comfortable. No problems with cleanliness. Bathroom outdated but it was clean.

Too far to walk to Haram n to near to take the taxi.

It was very beautiful hotel

Very affordable, great service and within walking distance of the Haram, with many shops along the way

I like it cheep and easy to go to haram

very small room for 3 beds , small beds (shorted than y height).FRIENDLY STAFF. POOR facility in the room(rusty fridge-no microwave. tiny window which you can not open. would suggest staying somewhere else

Property is excellent, language problem, no daily housekeeping. High ground road to go al haram. In low budget excellent, neat n clean

The bathroom

Good nice hotel at a budget.

Satisfied

In summary It looks like the property is on its way to be out of service.

It was good to stay in al shahba. 15 minutes walk from masjid Alharam but little inclined on both ways taxi costs 10 to 20 Rayal. Receptionist was welcoming and staff is very helpful.

You will need to have a ride to and fro the property unless you are ready to about 20 minutes from Dar Al-Taweheed international hotel from AlHaram. Otherwise it is is fine. But don’t expect to have an easy to way to a from the hotel room. Taxi charges should be about 5 S.A.R. Each time, but it always depends on how the negotiation goes between you and the taxi drivers every time. Thank you.

For the price it was good. Probably wouldn’t stay ever again though..

Quite

Good location

Staying in Makkah is all about location: one straight line 900m from Haram, and free shuttle bus across the road from hotel to haram and from haram to the doorsteps of hotel with frequent service. Hotel was clean, check in was painless, and for the money you pay its the best choice.

It was nice

Property is near to Haram, for the price hotel is great.

Worse place to stay as very old furnitures. Beds are very uncomfortable. Carpets are dirty and very very old fashioned. Rooms are dusty, and toilet is so tiny that you can’t even sit properly. Staff are not welcoming and not helpful. Will be wasted the money even though it is a budget hotel. There is not a single positive things that I can mention about this hotel apart from amenities around.

Disappointing. Hotel was run down and dirty, I would expect more for the price I paid. The only plus point was the short walk to the mosque

Aside from the staff being friendly and welcoming, they were not much of help in many things..besides, the phone, lighting and elect sockets were not working..and they seemed OK with that. The room and bathroom were too tight. The water was not hot enough. Also, there was no bath tub or a closed cabinet...so whenever you take a shower it gets messy. Distance to Haram was not too far (15 min walk), yet the road was more like a ramp..exhausting to walk it and the public transportation to haram would not drop you close enough to the destination.

مناسب للقيمةوالموقع

Everything was perfect what I accepted.Wifi was slow because of range issue.Enternce sometimes block because bus stop people sitting there.

Hotel was clean and location was great due to the bus stop outside the hotel. Staff was very helpful and provided extra towels when needed. Room come with fridge and comfortable bed and pillows. Working air con, Clean toilet with warm shower.Overall great experience. Thanks

It was great stay for a quick 15 mins walk to the haram, day time duty staff (I forgot his name) was a local Saudi guy who was extremely helpful and even called taxi from his phone. He was really friendly!!

Great location. Amazing service! God bless!

Good for the price

Our stay was stress free and considering that we wanted a short walking distance hotel to Haram. The price we paid was reasonable and we couldn’t expected more for the price.

Bus stop right out of hotel

Very suitable for Omrah. Free buses just in front of the hotel or 10 minutes walk. Very good value for money.

Express check in, Room CLEAN but some extent small, Bathroom is OK, WIFI working full, Open on the main road to Almasjid Alharam, not near not far, NO bus shuttle, free public transportation available Front to hotel According to the price is good option

Overall liked the attitude of staff. Not a bad place to stay.

Suitable price, close to the great mosque of Mecca...good internet connection

The property is generally clean and located 26min walk to masjid

Good price for a hotel to use for sleeping, then doing other activities outside.

Location is not bad, if someone like to walk Haram is about 10 minutes walk away from hotel or cost 2 Rial sharing taxi after pray is down hill easy walk to hotel, reception staff is very helpful. If you need cleaning of the room you need to inform otherwise they don't disturb you. They do speak very good English..local shops and restaurants selling food chapter then center..

Good based on price

The hotel is about a mile to the Haram Sharif with a steep slop on both end. The hotel itself is very neat clean and staff is well conversant in English. The room I stayed in had two bed having reasonable space, central air-conditioning and a well maintained wash room. Staff at the front desk can speak English and are pleasant. Much better than what travel agents offer as part of their package with a little lower rates-no comparison indeed. Wifi worked well. I am very happy I stayed here.

No hot water for 4 days

The manager is very good, the reception staff were friendly and cooperative but you have to set your expectations to them. Also talk to manager who speaks good English on his phone. The location though one km from garam but taxis are every 4-5 minutes. It took me less than 5 minutes to get to garam for two Riyals. Being on fast road was very convenient. One needs to know where to get racis for return journey. Some taxi drivers don't know where it is. If staying alone, I would recommend it. Shower was power ful.

the hotel is 10 mins far from Al-Harm, however their services was terrible, bothing was provided even a tissue box. they don’t come to clean at all, the bathroom was terribly annoying and dust everywhere. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone

It was good in general, when I booked the hotel one of the very important thing for me was the free wifi, but unfortunately unlike what was mentioned when I book the room there was no internet service in the hotel, although it was mentioned in the hotel services

Hotel was nice and close to haram. Commute was easy and taxi was available all the time for commute to haram for 2 to 5 riyals. Only thing which I didn't like in room was that bathroom was small and very compact but other than that a nice place to stay. Wifi was also available.

Near to alharam and the price very good room size excellent

GOOD

Paid 50 pounds for the night in ramadhan, considering the location and price I think it is fair to say I got a good deal, to walk to the haram is approx 15-20mins and a taxi ride cost me 7 riyal, factoring into account all the hotels closer are far expensive. If you are looking to just rest a few hours and spend most of your time in the haram, this would be ideal for u

It was pleasant

The hotel is about a 10/15 min walk from the mosque and it doesnt sound much but in the heat and uuphill walk its tough. but for 2 riyals you can get a taxi up for 2 minutes which isn't bad. The room was what you expect at price, so can't complain. but the workers and managers are very nice.

Hotel is good for the price that i paid. The hotel is about 800m from Haram with a fairly steep slope along the way. I am a young-ish single traveller, so no real problem for me. You can always take a taxi which would cost around SR10-20 per journey and can be split among your travel companion. The hotel itself is noticeably quiet, not much traffic during my stay. Overall, its good for the price.

Well where do I begin... As a seasoned traveller and first time in Makkah on Umrah, I was bit apprehensive as to what I was to expect with the whole experience... As I had only booked the Flight and Hotel the night before most agents were saying I had to go with a group as the cost would be high... but I continued to book myself.. Flight Saudi Airlines ..saving by self booking... but had to shop around.. WELL WHAT A GEM OF A HOTEL...!! As I say I was on a budget and my trip was for Ibadhaat... and not to prance about in a PLUSH hotel.. of which I have stayed at many times... but always prefer the smaller more family friendly hotels.. THE MASJID AL HARAM IS ABOUT 12-15 MINS WALKING STRAIGHT ROAD.. THERE IS A HILL TO CLIMB BUT BY THE SECOND DAY I WAS USED TO IT.. TAXIS WILL COST AROUND 2-3 RIYALS ONE WAY.. as most taxis head for the Haram Shareef anyway.. jump in with other people you will pay 2 riyal.. The Greeting by Mr Salim and Mohammed on reception was very warm and friendly.. and they spoke good English too. The hotel itself is marketed as 3 star but does not serve any food.. but all shops are on your doorstep including a great little eating place called Makkah restaurant which is located to the rear of the hotel via the Masjid and the African street traders.. 3-4 min walk. Ask Zain or Mustaffa (staff) and they will direct you.. by the way.. these lads were very helpful with anything.. Inside ticked all the boxes for my needs.. The room was perfect for me... clean comfortable tea/coffee facilities good shower, fridge and TV which had a direct link to the Masjid Al Haram and Kabaah.. The Location was unbeatable.. in the middle of shops that were fantastically good for shopping and prices you would appreciate after a bit of haggling... unlike the shopping centres prices for the same goods... ! Definitely recommend shops on the side of the hotel... I spent most of my day at the Masjid.. except when I went to Medina for the day... the Taxi Drivers will take you but expect to pay around 450 Riyal one way.. if your coming back the same day like me... make sure you negotiate your return rate.. should be less than your outgoing... Cost to Airport is approx 160-180 Riyal... I met a really good and polite taxi driver.. who I would recommend to anyone.. I was Humbled by my experience.. and the fact I went on my own meant I was not goaded or expected to commit to anything or anyone.. This was truly a great moment in my life ALHAMDULILLAH.. As it was completely unplanned.. just say I heard the call..! Insha Allaah.. I look forward to returning with my family... and know where I am going to stay for sure..

hotel location about 800 meters away from HARAM there wad grueling uphill I saw shuttle but only 1 times I can use . staff was sleeping on lobby the door was faulty it was difficult to open , carpets was dirty beds and towels was clean wıfi signal was very poor signal often interrup. no carparking , no restaurant dont expect too much

clean hotel, not so far from haram , polite staff , shuttle bus , amenities. thanks for the management of this hotel. nearby there is some shopping centers with very cheap present to take to the friends and family cheaper than in the clock tower souks but same quality. i really enjoyed my stay in makkah.
