Fabulous breakfast, extremely attentive staff, thermal pools!

Location is prime.

The gym is dated and small. There’s only one tiny fresh water or chlorine pool along with the large outdoor and indoor thermal pools. I was hoping for a large outdoor fresh water pool as an alternative to brown thermal pools.

Die Thermalbäder, die eigentliche Hauptattraktion, sind in die Jahre gekommen. Eine umfassende Sanierung ist erforderlich.

A beautiful hotel with a very comfortable suite. Nice amenities.

The staff was very cordial and accommodating though service in the main restaurant was spotty. Breakfast consisted of an amazing variety of foods and was our favorite meal.

Der Restaurantbereich war insgesamt top. Gemütlich, gut eingerichtet und guter Service. Das Essen war sehr gut.

Wir hatten ein Behindertenzimmer mit entsprechendem Bad. Während das Zimmer dafür etwas größer als die anderen gewesen sein soll, war das Bad eine Zumutung. Stellt sich auch die Frage , warum wir , obwohl wir bereits im Februar buchten und zahlten, überhaupt das Zimmer bekommen haben. Das Hotel verfügt über einen Aussenpool direkt an der Straße , die auch sonntags viel befahren wird. Poolbar oder Poolservice gibt es nicht. Bei Nachfragen von drei Personen die nichtstuend an einer Art poolrezeption miteinander beschäftigt waren, hieß es , ich könne mir ein Getränk an der Hotelbar holen. Während darüber hinaus ein bis zwei weitere Hotelmitarbeiter am Hoteleingang stehen und Türen öffnen , fragt man sich unweigerlich , ob die Leute nicht im Sinne der Gäste intelligenter eingesetzt werden könnten. Aber es handelt sich vornehmlich um ein amerikanisch orientiertes Hotelmanagement und so legt jeder Seine Prioritäten anders.

Tolle Lage, reichhaltiges feines Frühstück, sehr aufmerksames, nettes Personal, sehr schönes Thermalbad mit Pool,

Vielleicht etwas kleine Zimmer, wenn man länger dort bleibt.

We spent our honeymoon here. The staff went above and beyond to make you feel welcome, the facilities are beautiful and well kept, the breakfast and dinner was delicious.

I love the location of the hotel. The property was beautiful and the staff helpful and friendly.

Though the hotel has received 5 stars, it seemed like that rating was outdated. The rooms were tired, very small, overly cluttered and not designed for optimal guest usage. The beds extremely uncomfortable. I would say this property was extremely overpriced for what it delivered on. At these prices, guests expect the cream of the crop experience including rooms.

La atención continua del personal. Todos maravillosos. El desayuno excelente. Tuvieron muchos detalles que no esperábamos.

En la habitación no había cobertura y el wifi no funcionaba. Además la piscina exterior estaba muy sucia, por lo que no pudimos aprovecharla ya que nos daba asco meternos.

Minden tetszett! Igazi luxushotel! Azt kaptunk, amit vártunk. Gyönyörű szálloda. Modern, mégis átadja a sziget hangulatát. Közel voltak a fumarolák, sokkal jobb helyen van, mint a Nostra. Örülök, hogy ezt választottuk!!

Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and welcoming. The pools were excellent, breakfast was great, and the rooms were comfortable and well set up for families. Having connecting/shared rooms was especially helpful for us. Parking was easy, and the location was great for exploring Furnas.

Honestly, very little. The only thing to be aware of is the sulfur/hot spring smell that you notice throughout the Furnas area. That’s just part of the natural geothermal environment and not really anything the hotel can control.

Good food

The location was fabulous. The spa staff was amazing and a front desk staffer named Julia was so kind and very helpful. The interior pool space was lovely.

The Hotel needs some updates and clean up done to the inside and the outside of the facility. Peeling paint, mold etc. The housekeeping staff removed some of our personal property from the room. After speaking with the front desk, we did get one item back but a couple other things were not replaced and no apologies were offered.

The service was unmatched! We felt so taken care of by one of the concierge in particular, Mauro. He made us feel extra special by arranging for a surprise birthday cake & champagne for my partner upon check-in, as well as always suggesting local points of interest. We absolutely can't wait to come back!

Fantastyczny czarny basen, piękne otoczenie, klimatyczna restauracja, miły personel na śniadaniach.

Nasz prysznic przeciekał, niestety personel mówił, że nie ma problemu więc codziennie Nasza łazienka była mokra + w pokoju unosił się zapach stęchlizny ze spleśniałej ściany za sejfem i pleśniejący sufit w łazience. Nie duży parking jak na taki obiekt więc była codzienna walka z innymi klientami o miejsce parkingowe.

The spa area

What a fabulous stay- Furnas is a charming town close to many natural attractions. The hotel is steps away from a beautiful path along the river, and close to restaurants and areas of interest. The spa was fabulous, it reminded us of the zen architecture of hot spring resorts in Japan. The room's cleaning crew were amazing, we appreciated their attention to detail and the wind-down service where they would clean and refresh the room in the evening. The restaurant had great food at a good value. Finally, they were many details that made us feel so welcome: the complimentary bottle of sparkling wine upon our arrival, hats, umbrella and a tote bag at our disposal, etc.

Nothing. The only suggestion we can think of is to offer a beach kit as hotels near beaches in Portugal often do (aka a beach umbrella)

L’accès privilégié à la piscine thermale et les équipements annexes (spa) est le vrai plus de cet hôtel, 24/24.

Le service n’est absolument pas à la hauteur d’un 5 étoiles et du prix de la chambre, par exemple au restaurant au petit déjeuner comme au dîner soit 6 expériences négatives dans notre cas. D’autres hôtels 4 étoiles sur l’île offrent un service plus chaleureux et attentionné. Par ailleurs, les chambres sont plus petites que dans les visuels avec notamment des placards inexistants pour ranger ses vêtements sur plusieurs jours.

The location, the pool

The hotel was acceptable overall, but in my opinion it did not meet the standard expected from a five-star property. Compared with my previous stay, the experience was noticeably less enjoyable. Our room faced a plain white wall, which was disappointing, and the bathroom was not properly maintained, with blackened grout and sealant. These details are particularly unacceptable in a hotel of this category. As a returning guest, I was also disappointed that the hotel refused to apply the advertised 15% welcome-back discount because I had booked through an agency. Although I understand that booking conditions may vary, this policy did not make me feel valued as a loyal guest. Overall, the hotel may deserve four stars, but based on this experience, it does not justify a five-star rating or price.

Sehr feucht. Im Zimmer hatten wir immer um die 85% Luftfeuchtigkeit und es roch sehr feucht/schimmlig. Wir hatten es gemeldet. Geändert hatte sich aber nix. Am Morgen konnten wir nicht einmal das Telefon laden wegen der Feuchtigkeit. Kakerlaken im Zimmer. Alles eher alt. Viele Wasserschäden im Pool Bereich. Wenn man im Restaurant etwas bestellt, dauert es bis zu 45 Minuten, bis das Essen serviert wird.

Absolutely exceptional. We travel a lot, and it’s rare for a hotel — especially its staff — to leave such a strong impression on us. Every single person was wonderfully kind, helpful, and professional in their role. There was no forced politeness or pasted-on smile. Once again, thank you, because you made our holiday truly fantastic. And we also congratulate the person who hired those people, because he/she clearly has a knack for finding such exceptional people who are excellent at their work. The hotel itself was excellent. It was very well equipped, beautifully and tastefully decorated, and the food and the A Taska restaurant were outstanding. The hotel has its own e-bikes, offers guided tours, and it’s extremely convenient that the thermal pools on-site are open 24/7. We would love to stay in such wonderful places more often.

Great location. Staff was good, forthcoming, and very friendly. The restaurant is good, too.

We were given the worst room in our category. It failed to meet the main features so we felt being in a lower category than we had paid for. Namely: the pictures showed very large floor-to-ceiling windows but ours was very small; the view was promised to be garden view but our was on the parking lot with the garden barely visible; the room had a handicapped-ready bathroom without shower curtain which was not advertised. The hotel promises a 5 star experience but does not live up to it despite the fairly high price. As the room category was fully booked – overbooked – we could not get an adequate alternative.

Établissement vieillissant et mal entretenu, dont les équipements ne sont plus à la hauteur des tarifs pratiqués. Le personnel est encouragé à une obséquiosité peut être apprécié par une clientèle US, mais assez pesante pour nous. Restaurant prétentieux, cher dont les prestations sont décevantes.

The mattresses and pillows weren’t comfortable enough. Some of the front desk staff spoke in a rude tone.

Das gebuchte Zimmer war nicht verfügbar, stattdessen bekamen wir ein kleines Zimmer mit wenig Licht die ersten Tage. Danach war ein Wechsel möglich.

Veel personeel dat hun uiterste beste deed. Goed diner. Uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet. Mooie wellness. Fijne elektrische fietsen. Prachtige omgeving op fietsafstand.

Kakkerlak op de kamer, maar is uiteraard een incident. Wellness zwembad kan een onderhoudsbeurt gebruiken (tegeltjes los etc).

Vriendelijke ontvangst

Gedateerd hotel met al een te furbishment, plastic hangplanten in het restaurant, stank van de bbq en open vuur en Rokin restaurant in combinatie met rotte dierengeluiden van vulkanisch gas.

Excellent spa facilities and the staff were exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Octant. It really felt like they took it to the next level in all areas.

Die Thermalpools waren warm und 24 Stunden geöffnet - wir haben oft Abends noch lange gebadet.

Zimmer ist miniklein, riecht nach Schimmel und Mitarbeiter streiten das Problem einfach ab. Das Abendessen im Restaurant ist teuer und geschmacklich nicht gut. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt dort wie im gesamten Hotel nicht. Der Preis lässt auf Luxus hoffen und liefert altes und etwas heruntergekommenes 3-Sterne Niveau.

El nombre de la habitación es MUY engañoso “superior garden” por 500 euros la noche cuando realmente es vistas al parking. Hemos visto que la gente lleva años quejándose y el hotel dice “evaluaremos tu feedback” como respuesta automática. Muchas de las instalaciones eran o viejas o gastadas. Parece que es un sitio gestionado por becarios, todos los empleados tenían menos de 24 años, no es lo que esperas en un hotel de 5 estrellas.

Staff was very accommodating, breakfast had a nice selection and was very good! Pool was very nice.

We had four rooms in our group I felt the room with private pool was very small and pricey. The doorway had ants and migrated up the curtain & unto the tabletop in the corner which is Unacceptable For 5 star hotel. Someone From housekeeping did try to wipe them away which helped for 10 minutes. I understand there are bugs at this time of year but they need to be controlled before guests arrive in a room. Especially when we are paying high fees to stay at your hotel.

Odeurs de moisissures dans l'armoire presque pas accessible pour ranger nos habits. Bains et SPA vieillissants. Nous ne reviendrons pas !

Нет сушилки в номере, не на чем сушить купальник после бассейна, в номере вообще ничего не сохнет, это большой минус. Еще наш номер находился прямо над автодорогой, хорошая слышимость по ночам, шум мешает спать

The hotel us incredible located conveniently in furnas, breakfast was really good and you have access to your own geothermal pools at the spa - absolutely amazing! The staff make this place even more wonderful, they couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable. Mauro was fantastic,he manages the experiences, we were there for honeymoon and he made sure everything was extra special. We took the wine and cheese experience with Fernando who was so knowledgeable the wine and cheese were superb. Lastly Alex at the bar - what a great asset to the hotel, again super knowledgeable and helped us navigate some local drinks choices. Thank you all so much for a wonderful stay!

They really need to do something about the beds at all Octant properties. The beds are hard as rocks and completely unbearable to a point we almost just left. We ended up stacking a few toppers they had. Ridiculous!!! Spend some money on better mattresses and this place would be heaven. Unacceptable!!

Наш номер находился рядом с вентиляционной системой, и от термальных источников не приятно (хотя вполне природно) пахло сероводородом, это продолжалось в течении всего времени пока мы там жили. Нужно просить номер подальше, в другом крыле здания.

Octant Furnas is an incredible hotel that offers a very warm and welcoming atmosphere! I arrived after a minor car accident covered in oil and grease and the staff insisted on shaking my hand and getting me freshened up with hand towels and a welcome drink. The hotel is set in an incredible location and is truly one of the most spectacular landscapes I’ve ever seen. Mauro done an excellent job as the experience manager. He is always present and it is easy to get the details for any trips or excursions to go on. We would recommend the Farm excursion and Gin & Cheese specifically. The spa is excellent and we had our first massage here. It was so relaxing and comforting and it was an absolute no rush experience. The thermals baths are amazing and if you go on a tour everyone will recommend them. Staying means you get to enjoy them anytime you want! Leonardo did an excellent job with the gin and cheese experience. We loved the ambience of the bar as an option instead of the restaurant. It meant we could play games whilst we ate and was a little less formal which we liked. The music was excellent in the bar! Whilst we can’t name individually every staff member that made our stay incredible. Everyone did contribute and we felt so welcomed and attended to for the entirety of our 10 day stay. We’ll be back!

Le spa n’était pas propre, toiles d’araignées, gens qui marchent avec des chaussures autour de la piscine et dans la zone douche & sauna. Le règlement indique pas d’enfant en dessous de 12ans après 13h, il y avait des petits enfants qui jouaient et étaient bouillants. Malgré ma discussion avec la réception pour leur signaler mon étonnement , l’hôtel n’a finalement pas appliqué leur règlement . Dommage pour un hôtel de ce standing et au vu du prix pratiqué. J’avais choisis cette hôtel car le spa n’était pas autorisé aux petits enfants, pour un séjour calme et reposant .

Gostei especialmente da qualidade da restauração, assim como do profissionalismo e simpatia das equipas. O atendimento foi muito atencioso e humano, o que tornou a estadia bastante agradável.

As instalações são muito bonitas, no entanto considero que a manutenção e a limpeza poderiam ser melhoradas. Tratando-se de um hotel de cinco estrelas, esperava um nível de cuidado mais elevado, nomeadamente nos espaços comuns e nas piscinas. Nesse aspeto, não senti que estivesse totalmente ao nível de outras experiências que já tive.

The restaurant !! So disappointing ! Food was not delicious and poorly seasoned ; appetizers came out at different times. Our table was left covered in mess and crumbs from an appetizer pizza for the entire meal . We had to pour our own wine and never had a refill of water glasses. Lastly our dessert was ordered and took 25 minutes to arrive . It was ridiculous . We later learned one of the items took longer but that should have been advised . Service was very weak for such a high end property, at breakfast we ordered a coffee that took ten minutes and a second never arrived . The property is stunning and the restaurant brings it down .

Sehr harte, unbequeme Betten. Modriger/muffeliger Geruch (viel zu viel Feuchtigkeit) im Zimmer - kann Fenster zum Lüften nur einen kleinen Spalt öffnen, Teppichboden :( statt wischbarer Boden. Preis-Leistung im Restaurant (abends) als auch für Massagen stimmt nicht. Viel zu teuer. Zweimal am Tag Room-Service nicht nötig - eher lästig. Zumindest abfragen, wer das überhaupt will/braucht.

De tudo, para mim o melhor hotel onde já estive, a conjugação de todos os factores é perfeita.

Staff were superb, it was my husband’s birthday and they treated us to champagne and cake which was really appreciated. Tamara and her colleagues at front desk were excellent and lady welcoming us to breakfast (whose name we didn’t get) was fantastic.

Amazing as always

O pequeno almoço é muito variado e os produtos com boa qualidade. As piscinas interiores e exteriores são muito boas, estava a chover e passamos umas horas muito relaxantes com as aguas quentes. O jantar estava muito bom.

Tanto on-line como ao telefone tinha referido o tipo de camas para os três quartos reservados, mas num dos quartos em vez de duas camas individuais tinha uma cama de casal. Mas a estadia correu muito bem.

Para além do berço que foi pedido o quarto estava equipado com muda fraldas, banheira para o bebé e ele ainda teve direito a um miminho! Como fomos festejar um aniversário, tivemos direito a um bolo.

Tivemos o azar de apanhar a piscina em manutenção nas duas manhãs da nossa estadia. Percebemos que o espaço necessita de manutenção, mas talvez fosse de repensar o horário em que a mesma é feita.

This hotel is beautiful! In a great location right in the center or Furnas. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Our room was very comfortable- we were welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine to start our stay!
