Sehr zentral
-Good location -Friendly staff -Appreciated the airport shuttle (well-organized)
-Room had a smell to it -Property is older than it seems in the pictures -Bathroom had some issues (ex. the fan rattling quite loudly), tight space -Overall very pricey ($310/night) for what we received -We've stayed at Best Westerns in many countries around the world and have noticed a real decline in properties over the last few years. Very unlikely to stay at one of their properties in the future
Great location
It is difficult to keep the carpets clean, they are always so dusty!
The staff and food
Good location
Restaurant was great!
Onsite laundry Friendly staff Great location
Expensive! I know the tourist season is short… but…
Posizione ottima, staff gentile e servizio navetta aeroporto molto comodo e puntuale!
Requested a room with one queen bed but had two. We were on the second floor and as pet owners expected to be on the ground floor as normal. Room was as far away from the entrance as possible. Heard people walking above us continually and understood why there were ear plugs in the room. Parking was not convenient.
The shuttle from the airport was very convenient and quick. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff who were very helpful. Our room was very spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. The location is very central.
The wifi was really bad
Location is downtown close to shops and bars and restaurants.

For the price that was charged this motel fell below industry standards.
Overall, I felt this hotel provided a less than average stay for the price, considering the points charged were the highest of any Best Western property on my entire month long trip. The room had a worn feel to it. We were upgraded to a jacuzzi suite, but it didn't feel like an upgrade. The jacuzzi was a tub in a dark cave like room off of the main room. It certainly was not an inviting space. There was an external AC unit that was very unsightly, blocked half of the view out the window, and interfered with the use of the black out shades. When we arrived in our room, we couldn't get the TV to work. Maintenance needed to come replace the batteries in the TV remote and connect it to the TV to get it to work. There were very few plug outlets in the room for any phone or tablet chargers. We ended up unplugging other items in the room to have some for our use. When we went to shower in the morning, we found that there was no shampoo in the shower. Instead there was body wash and two bottles of conditioner. On our second day, we asked for housekeeping to refresh some towels and coffee pods, which they did. However, they didn't bother to make the bed, even though they were in the room. We were also surprised that there was no breakfast provided, especially considering the price of these rooms. The 10% coupon provided really didn't make up for a $50.00 plus breakfast for two people. Most Best Westerns at least offer a continental breakfast. I also noted that there was no coffee offered in the lobby area. I have rarely stayed anywhere that doesn't offer coffee to the guests, at least during the morning hours. I usually enjoy staying at Best Western properties as a Platinum member. This property was probably the poorest one I have stayed at over the last several years.
Nothing
Trying to find the front door was very hard had to circle several times. The room was small and out dated. And you can hear the people beside you as well as the people above walked around hard all night and it was very loud.
Close to shopping, museums & tourist sites. The hotel room was clean and comfortable bed. The bathroom was small with no space for a toiletry bag because of the large above counter sink that took all the space. The restaurant was good for breakfast, supper was a bit overpriced. Limited seating for a lounge area.
Comfortable beds
Rooms and hall ways a bit on the smaller side.
Breakfast was pretty good and service was amazing
Nothing
Gold Rush hotel in Whitehorse, Yukon is definitely my home away from home. The staff are very accomodating. Rooms very clean. I love the early check in and late checkout option.
We spent 3 nights at the Gold Rush and enjoyed it very much. We had a snafu with our arrangements, so we had to book at another hotel for the last few nights. The management and staff at Gold Rush were very accommodating and helpful getting us to a new place. I would recommend Gold Rush Inn for a nice Yukon experience that's not as corporate as some of the others, very comfy and welcoming.
We stayed here twice, once mid December and once at the end of December. Checking in was an issue. They were unable to locate either of our bookings. They then found them and were mixing them up with our later booking. The staff were rude and indignant and less than helpful. Moving on, we got to our rooms. The first stay, our room had 2 doubles in it, with absolutely no room to move. Only 2 cups were provided, the smell to the room was average. It was tolerable for the one night. We were travelling as 2 seperate parties. Upon checking out we made sure that our rooms were together/on the same floor and we guaranteed that we would be for our return in 4 days time. Upon checking in, we were on different floors. The staff did not care. The ‘family suite’ was anything but family friendly. The toilet not even bolted to the floor, it moves 20cm either way when you sit on it! Upon entering the room we were met with the stench of cigarette smoke, and excessive heat, as a floor heater had been left on and it was 29 degrees in the room! We opened the windows to get the smell out and cool the room down. The floor was still littered with previous guests rubbish, benches had grime, dust and food stuff uncleaned from them. The fridge was surprisingly clean! The couch has white stains on it, use your own imagination there. Peeling back the bed sheets revealed multiple strands of hair….we had not been in the bed! Add to this, the arctic gear we had hired and paid for 8mths ago, was not delivered to the hotel. The hotel reception were no assistance, and would not assist in calling or trying to source the missing equipment. They seemed completely out of their depth with how to manage issues. We requested a taxi be called, went back down, and once again, it had been forgotten…making us late for another appointment. The hot water in the shower took a good 10 minutes to start to come through. When reported to the front desk, they said no one could look at it until the next day. We had words, and they had someone look at it who said it was fine. Overnight, if you intend to sleep, bring headphones. It’s so bad the hotel provide ear plugs (only 1 set per room, so survival of the fittest). Constant noise outside the room at all hours of the night, talking, yelling, swearing….and the constant smoking explained why the room smelt of cigarettes! It was so bad I needed to move to another area. Add to all this, the carpet is stained, the walls damaged and stained, the tiles broken and more! Finally my wife was handed a letter cancelling our tour for that day, the morning of the tour…dated the day before. We had been at reception multiple times, and at no point did they give us the letter advising of the cancellation, they had ample opportunity, and no attempt was made to contact us, take it to our room, or advise us. In actual fact, they forgot to give us the letter at the desk, and called my wife back from up the stairs. Book at your own risk! We will not be back, and do not recommend it to anyone! Do not expect any level of customer service, comfort or cleanliness. Best western, lift your game. **Hats off, well done to the lady from Northern Tales Tours who tried to assist with the missing clothing, and hotel issues, despite it not being her problem or responsibility. She went above and beyond.
I had a great experience during my visit. The staff member at the counter was extremely helpful, courteous, and genuinely friendly. They took the time to explain everything clearly, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. The lobby was spotless, beautifully maintained, and featured a warm fireplace with a comfortable common area that made it easy to relax. The attached restaurant was also impressive — clean, inviting, with courteous staff and great food. It was a perfect addition to an already positive stay. Overall, exceptional service and a welcoming environment — highly recommended.
This was our second time here in the last couple of years. It is a good place to accommodate our tour of 33 people. We had one of the upgraded rooms which was quite pleasant and comfortable. Clean as well. We never have the staff come in during our stay so cannot comment on cleaning efficacy. Sleep was good and the restaurant served a good, if pricy, breakfast. Good location, close to everything in town. No complaints.
Clean modern, excellent friendly staff. Amazing breakfast.
Wish there was an on-site restaurant and bar.
I have traveled the world for over 50 years (started young) and have never experienced such excellent staff (hotel, not restaurant) as I have here. Facility is a little worn but comfortable, accessible to town, base for excursion pick-ups, clean, great value for dollar and generally quiet (but they provide earplugs). I would definitely stay here again. Only missing and desired item was a room safe. Friendly and great introduction to Canadian hospitality.
Staff
Waaay too expensive for a little, tiny room.
The front desk clerk was exceptional and we enjoyed the time and the reception that we had the room was a little warm but other than that, it was very comfortable. We have stayed there many times over the years and have enjoyed it each time.
The Front Desk at the Best Western Gold Rush Inn Hotel in Whitehorse is wonderful. Prabh and Kusum always make my day by greeting me very personally and are always there to help and assist in anything i might need. They both go above and beyond for whatever is asked of them and do it always with a smile, professionalism and passion.
parking was easy
Friendly staff
Nice hotel
Clean room. No pet walk for our dog. Extra charge of $30.
This is the best hotel to stay in Whitehorse even though it isn’t cheap. It is clean, quiet and at the end of the main strip so it’s close to the shops, restaurants and river. There is also a shuttle bus to and from the airport which is great. Make sure to visit “La Cara” a Mexican restaurant, “Burnt Toast” for breakfast/brunch and “Baked” for excellent coffee and baked goods.
Great location, safe hotel with a cozy, atmospheric restaurant. Restaurant staff super friendly. The staff is very helpful and there is a convenient shuttle to the airport. There is a 24 hour fitness center. The amenities in room are great ranging from a nespresso machine to good heating systems.
Hopefully you don't get Room 412. Right next to the elevator, so noisy with guests and housecleaning using it. There was also a high pitched noise that kept going all night long. Staff were polite but had an indifferent attitude. Would stay again but wouldn't be my first choice
Lack of parking
Just a great stop. Staff was very accommodating
Met expectations for a chain motel. Restaurant was uninviting.
Our 2 night stay was ok but not memorable. Opted for stairs access to our room on 3rd floor rather than wait for the one lift which was always crowded and in demand at busy times. Location and wi fi reception were good and another luggage rack would have been helpful. Sleep comfort was good and we encountered the smallest bathroom on our travels. Breakfast was provided to tour groups in a separate room and it was very average with a very small choice of fruit and no yoghurt.
Very nice room with comfortable beds and good bathroom. It was all very clean. Very helpful at the front desk and handy restaurant right there (good breakfast). We would definitely stay there again.
Great
Older property but accessible to many things in area No breakfast included which we thought it did or would but are mistake
Nice hotel
It was ok, but over-priced for the level of the property.
Television was non-existent and useless for obtaining weather and local news since there was no access to local channels. Property needs updating and a total refresh to bring it up to the level charged for the room.
Too expensive for the quality of hotel
Great place to stop by when in town!
Nice place to stay. Convenient, quiet Good food.
This was literally a very last reservation for us. We made the decision to stay in Whitehorse and 20 minutes later we walked in. It was a perfect room for our family of 3 that has been on the road for 35 days with over 6,000 miles. Good laundry, quiet room, the staff was great and all the beds were comfortable!
Gratis Parkplatz; das Hotel liegt zentral; das Personal ist freundlich
Man konnte das Fenster fast nicht offen lassen. Zu viel Umgebungslärm hinter dem Haus.
Great place to stay!
Great
The room was nice and clean. However the parking situation is not ideal you have to park on the street there is no hotel parking.
Nothing ! a bad experience from the moment I stepped to the front desk.
Front desk staff inattentive appear to be too busy to deal with me and could not speak English.
I liked the airport shuttle, however it was quite hot in my room, and the phone did not work, so I almost missed my wake-up call.
Truly excellent and restful. Made my reservation via expedia, and because they didn't have any other pet room available, they put me in a two bedroom apartment at less cost. Additionally, staff were more than helpful, very nice stay here, thanks!
Old but charming and the most friendly staff!
The place was o.k. The maids did not seem in any rush to make up the rooms. Overall I did like the hotel and it was clean and safe.
Exceptionnel,
Great stay!
Service pre arrivee imprccable
I was in three different rooms during my time there (two bookings). The quality of bathrooms varied considerably with one being excellent in one being average and the third being below average. The third room I had had a large air conditioner taking up the bulk of the floor space. I paid the same for all three rooms!
The room was comfortable and we were able to settle in quickly. It was clean throughout the room and the main lobby. Checking in took us almost an hour because they were trying to find us a room (context: we booked 2 Queens & were originally offered 2 twins at check in which isn’t feasible for a family of 4). When we arrived we didn’t realize they only have 1 elevator which is small and could only accommodate a small group of guests at a time. So waiting for the elevator could take 5-30 minutes depending on how many people were in line in the lobby, so we ended up opting for the stairs instead. Overall the room was comfy and updated which was nice to have during such a long road trip. The staff was nice and trying to be as helpful as they could be. Parking is down the street which we didn’t know until we got there. Breakfast & dinner at the saloon wasn’t bad just a little pricey.
No onsite parking, parking is paid by meter in front of hotel, only one luggage cart which was way small to begin with, I didn’t find a ice machine or a pop machine, food wasn’t all that great in the restaurant and the service was even worse
Does NOT have on site parking. It’s STREET parking and you have to feed the meters. Homeless people around property. Parking is not so safe either, hotel makes you to sign a waiver that they are NOT responsible for loss of items. So they know the problem. Hotel itself is clean, breakfast is not included.
The hotel is nice with friendly staff. The location is close to shopping and restaurants. There is also a restaurant in the hotel.
