This hotel was very nice! The room was a good size, the staff were friendly and the location of the hotel was ideal! The pool was also a nice feature to have.

THE BREAKFAST WAS TERRIBLE!!! We paid for the breakfast one morning and were extremely disappointed. The variety of options was very limited and even what was there was not good (for example, the croissants were stale to the point of being inedible). Given how nice this hotel was we were taken aback by the terrible breakfast.

When i booked the hotel it said breakfast included, when we arrived they said the policy had changed, it was no longer included, and said Booking.com should have updated us. Cheap toilet paper.

The Staff and amenities we're wonderful, I absolutely loved that you just walk out and you write into stuart park. It was such a nice peaceful setting. And the food was fantastic. We enjoyed supper at the restaurant there. And in the morning, it was a wonderful breakfast.

The steam room wasn't working. And maybe the price a little for us. It was a bit pricey. In all fairness, though it could have been because we booked late. With owning our own business, we don 't always know when we have a weekend available.

Would have liked a small selection of pastries (did come down a bit later) but otherwise the coffee, juice, and proteins were good.

So the location of the hotel is great. You must visit the park nearby. Except why so many dogs in this beautiful park?? I did not like: the floors in the room. The floor in the room is hard fake wood. They feel like lego under your bare feet. If you are going to install flooring in a luxury hotel, you need to install high quality flooring. They went with the cheaper fake wood lego quality floors. Lots of fake leather furniture in this luxury hotel. Fake leather only lasts 1 year before it starts peeling and shedding flakes of plastic. Buy real leather instead. It will last you 20 years and not shed like fake leather. Breakfast is $19. it was similar to eating at a Hampton Inn. Front desk staff wear bull nose rings. This is not professional attire for a luxury hotel. What's next? Giant face tattoos for the staff? So this place is not luxury. Upscale yes, but not luxury. Heating unit barely made our room warm. Duct tape on my main light switch. Perhaps try replacing the light switch entirely considering this is a luxury hotel. toilet paper located behind the toilet. I had trouble using the toilet paper in my own room. And the quality of the toilet paper was the cheapest. Elevators made weird noises. Corners being cut here. I would not pay more than $200 per night or just stay home and save money. I can have romance at home.

Lackluster food. We were served cold pasta and barely warm chicken parmigiana by an attentive waitress. The dining area was anything but quiet & enjoyable with a group of boisterous ladies at the bar in the same room. Overall overpriced for the quality served. Won't be returning.

A delightful stay in this lovely hotel. Conveniently located in the heart of Perth, walking distance to all this charming town has to offer. Spotless property. Helpful, attentive staff. Spacious King Room with jet-tub. One of our best recent stays!

We arrived 2 hours early before check in. We did not ask to check in early. We just wanted to make sure our reservation was registered. After the clerk asked my name, he automatically says our room is ready, you can check in early for $25. Never experienced this before. Please don’t tell me my room is ready but charge me $25 to check in early, unless of course I inquired. Just tell me what time check in is. What an awful policy. If the room is ready, most places are happy to provide exceptional customer service by allowing to enter your room before the scheduled check in.

Great location with lot’s of restaurants close by. Close walk to the main street and park. Hotel is quiet and well kept.

The hotel is right in the downtown core so we could walk everywhere. The hotel has a restaurant attached to it for your convenience. The pool, hot tub and sauna were a nice relaxing way to finish the day. The staff were all friendly.

This was our first experience at the Perth Parkside and I can assure you we will be back. We often take road trips from Ontario to the Atlantic provinces, and Perth can sometimes be a logical stop in our overall journey.

Have stayed at this hotel many times while on business in the Perth/Smiths Falls area. It's pricier than other similar hotels but it was always my preference. Recently they dropped their free breakfast as they raised prices. I will no longer be staying here.

The large soaking tub with the jet spray was awesome. Staff was very pleasant. Easy walk into town. Lovely park behind the hotel.

This hotel requires a minimum 2 day booking during the summer months. Not recommended if you require a short stay.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Excellent dining room. Good breakfast. Quiet. Spacious room and bathroom. Good facilities. Pleasant walking location next to a park and canal.

Room did not have a thermostat (only a wall heater/cooler) so was hot at night. (Apparently, some rooms have their own thermostats.) Swimming pool was being used (6:30 pm) by several children so I was unable to swim.

The hotel location is very near the main street but in a quite area near the park. We never heard other guest from the room. The room cleanliness and comfort was excellent. The pool and hot tub water very clean. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful.

The area around the pool can be clearer and the hot tub was not hot, just warmer than the pool. The jacuzzi in room 302 - bathtub plug does not seal completely which makes the water trickling out noisy - hard to relax taking a bath.

Some staff a bit unprofessional and breakfast very disappointing given the caliber of the evening meal. For a hotel that positions itself as luxury/boutique this is more of a Howard-Johnson breakfast.

Technically it's 4.5 stars. I'm removing the half a star for the noisy ventilation in the room which woke my friend and myself up. I'm a light sleeper. Many hotels have this issue with loud fans which I find bizarre. Other than that, it was perfect and I loved my stay. It's the BEST Best Western I've stayed at so far. Beats many other hotels I've been to as well. Elegant looking building upon arrival. Courteous staff, immaculate room, breakfast is included, there is the spa of course and it's right in the centre of beautiful Perth. All that for a very good price considering it was the long Easter weekend. Who could ask for anything more? Bathrobes are supplied in the room which is wonderful to go to the mineral water pool. There is also a eucalyptus steam room and hot tub. All very relaxing but with a press of a button, the pool turns into a "endless" lap pool for swimming in place thanks to a swim jet that lasts 15 minutes. Pool of my dreams! It was a perfect girl's weekend away and I will definitely be back.

Location, facilities, amenities. This is a great hotel, super helpful staff and it is the best spot to go and discover the wonderful town of Perth Ontario. The rooms are spacious, the pool, hot tub, gym and spa were great. Breakfast was very good.

I really don't have anything to complain about! In fact - quite the contrary, everything about our experience was great. The indoor pool area, including steam room and hot tub was nice, the warm breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausages) was yummy, the free hot chocolate/tea in the lobby was an unexpected treat, and the room was spacious and clean. And the service was solid too. Checked in 30 minutes early no problem. And in terms of location, its near all the cute stores that Perth has to offer. Honestly, this is a great getaway.

The receptionist was friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and had everything we needed, and the serve-yourself breakfast was adequate — but there wasn’t anything that set it apart from other hotels in the same price range, so I rated it very good, but not outstanding. The location is great: near the centre of the historic town and adjacent to a beautiful park.

The toilet paper was cheap and thin! I know that’s a strange thing to point out, but I always notice the quality of the TP and see it as an indicator of the generosity and good will of the management.

My partner and I are long-time guests of the Perth Parkside Hotel & Spa. One of the main reasons we enjoyed staying here in the past was the breakfast included with the room. When the restaurant operated under its previous ownership as The Locks, guests were offered a small à la carte breakfast (with a choice of two or three options), served across both sections of the restaurant. It felt calm, pleasant, and somewhat special — like a real added value to the stay. This time, under the new restaurant name The Fume, we were very unpleasantly surprised to discover that breakfast had been replaced by a continental-style buffet. The quality was extremely poor and the food was barely lukewarm. The scrambled eggs were completely tasteless. The bacon was sitting in about an inch of grease. The roasted potatoes were excessively salty. The bread was generic. The coffee was simply undrinkable. On top of that, guests were restricted to sitting in only one section of the restaurant — the darker side — while the other section remained unused. By 8:30 a.m., it was overcrowded, with more guests than available seats, forcing people to share tables. The atmosphere felt chaotic and rushed. Rather than feeling welcomed, we felt like we were in the way and that it would be a great idea to eat quickly and free up space. I literally took five bites. My partner refused to eat at all because he was disgusted. Despite having already paid for breakfast as part of our room package, we left and went to eat at another restaurant in Perth. We stayed two nights. After the first morning, we returned our breakfast vouchers for the second day to the front desk, explaining that we would not be returning to what felt more like a low quality cafeteria than a hotel dining experience. In practical terms, this meant we paid for 4 breakfasts included in our room rate — and then had to pay again for 4 breakfasts elsewhere. Even the staff appeared uncomfortable with the obvious decline in quality. We were told that at 10:00 a.m., when breakfast closes, tons of food end up to be thrown away. If this change was intended as a cost-saving measure, it does not appear to be working efficiently. We are extremely disappointed. What once felt like a privilege and a refined touch to the hotel experience now feels like a total sharp decline in quality and care.

A gorgeous hotel in a great location. The staff were very friendly and the evening meal in the restaurant was delicious!

The only tiny comment I would make is that the steam room wasn't working unfortunately, but it didn't take away from the lovely pool and jacuzzi.

The breakfast bar during this stay was quite good. The staff was attentive and helpful. We were able to walk around the downtown during the afternoon.

Part of the secondary lock on the door broke off when we opened the door. (Staff fixed it quickly though, which was nice.) There was construction on the restaurant, so the main area was loud, with some dust and smell. The chips I bought for my son at the vending machine were stale.

Everything was good except breakfast. It's too bad because with a decent breakfast it would be a great place to stay. Staff were nice. Rooms were nice and clean. location is great. Kids loved the pool. However, Breakfast was the so bad I feel I have to comment. Even on a good day the breakfast at this hotel is very very basic,, way below the expected level of of a nice hotel like this. I could compare with other discount franchise hotels in detail but let's just say, it just doesn't compare. On a bad day, which the hotel had on Monday morning,, it was a full house,, they had no ketchup,, yup no ketchup and we were down there at 7:30am. They had run out of has hash browns and they had no serviettes. yup,, no serviettes. I felt bad for the staff as it wasn't their fault. and yes we survived. Yes the kids managed without ketchup because there was no hashbrowns to put the ketchup on anyways. At any rate ,,,,, i feel bad about giving this bad of a review, and never had to do one like this before, but I read these reviews from others and I rely on their comments in choosing our hotels. I hope the hotel improves in this regard because we would like to stay there again if that can be figured out.

Setting is lovely…

No hand showerhead, tv doesn’t connect to the internet (cast doesn’t work). Alarm clock was set by someone to go off at midnight! I will always unplug alarm clocks in hotels from now on!!!

Loved the jacuzzi bath tubs in the bathroom. Also gardens around are beautiful.
