not great
Dirty and small
Great price but a very noisey and tiny room. But considering the cheap price it was alright
It's a very cheap room for what it's worth, the room 10A was quite far from the shower/toilet, which makes it quite difficult on hot summer days. there isn't enough space for a desk/table in the room, which makes it difficult to put my keys/phone. The service was fine though.
It was terrible. The attached bathroom was not working. There was no exhaust, even windows were unable to be opened. The general toilet was dirty with spits on the floor and (Pan Gutka) spits on the corner. The wash basin tap was broken. The smell was so horrible. The bed was broken and the sharp springs were coming out from the bed mattress. There was no shower gel in the shower. The shower was small and open. No drinking water was available. For the general shower, you have to go to the basement or 2nd floor with your clothes or towel and other people knock on the door.
Room was small and smelt appalling of mould/damp and possibly urine. There were No propper room facilities -the bedding was inadequate. Ridiculously small toilet and shower off landing.Thin walls-poor sound proofing.
The room had broken furniture. Windows were dirty. Bathroom was decent and clean. Bed was okay but walls were dirty. Staff were lovely though.
If you get a room in such a good location for such a cheap price, you can’t expect much. What you can expect, however, is a hotel that takes pride in what little it does I booked an ensuite room for two nights in April for about £100, so I was expecting a basic bed and ensuite in a probably cramped but serviceable room. What I got was that but as a hotbox. The room was sweltering, and the security feature on the window prevented it from being opened beyond a couple of centimetres. I asked the receptionist if they at least had a pedestal fan I could use to help with airflow. They didn’t have one. I asked if they had a different room. He was able to move me to another room that was also quite warm, but at least had a fully opening window. So he was helpful with that. But overall, the rooms felt like the owners don’t take any pride in the place - no forethought to customers’ comfort if their rooms are hot. I would also say the place was clean enough (the towels and linens did not smell, the bathroom was fine), I also didn’t place my belongings on the beds or floors in fear of potential bedbugs. I don’t believe there were bedbugs, but that was the feeling the place gives off. I was also awoken at 3am on Sunday morning by the building’s fire alarm. Just as I was about to evacuate, the alarm stopped. There was no announcement to say that it was a false alarm or what had happened. Overall, not good other than it is cheap and it’s in a good location.
Good value for money. Close to underground. No complaints
Pleasant stay. The beds were clean and comfortable. The only issue was that the room looked slightly worn out, with rust all over the shower rod and shower head. Staff were great. Ideal for an overnight stay.
Great staff, simple room but there was space, warm. It was clean. Basic but efficient.
Creepy crawlies on bathrooms floors... Carpet NEED Deep Clean/Shampooing. Last room:Digital TV issues. Issues about pricing, disparity between online and staff. Very quiet on weekdays.
Value for money..
The entire floor in the hotel room was wet. Hotel staff said it wasent their fault. Wasent able to get a different room or partial refund. Avoid this place at all costs.
Reception was lovely , it was a 1 star hotel sp you get what you get for the money I would stay again , very clean too and free wifi was great and tv channels too Lovley location near shops in earls court and not far from tube or bus stop either Lovely stay i had
NEVER STAY HERE. My room smelt like a wet dog, the window was broken so all night all you could hear were the tubes running. The staff were rude and unhelpful. Did not even say a word when checking up and didn’t address our issues properly regarding the smell and uncleanliness
I choose because it was cheap but I was wrong, It was a big mistake that I never do that again, it is dirty and share wc bathroom :) even it is dirty, I am happy it was only 1 night.
I stayed in the windowless single room, it honestly wasn't terrible for what it was. You can't expect much for £35 a night in central London but you'd be hard pressed to do much better for the price. It has a bed, it's a place to sleep whilst you go out and do other things during the day.
Not going back there!
As you would expect for the money
The beds are split intead of one double bed
The room was filthy. It smelled like a dog was being kept in it. The room was riddles with damp and not fit for habitation. The receptionist had no idea what the room was like. I could not stay in the hotel and left as soon as I saw the room. Non-refundale booking was still the case despite the room not being fit for human habitation. Hotels.com could not assist with this so their service was sub par also.
Pros Cheap Good location and easy access to shops/tube station Daily housekeeping Cons Wardrobe was broken although still usable. Radiator nearly always on and knob to control heat was broken which meant room temperature was controlled by opening the windows. No bedside table or any table/chair in the room. No hooks to hang clothes (one inside bathroom to hang the towel) Only 1 towel provided. Curtains did not cover the whole of the window. Radiator very dusty. Noisy as room facing underground tracks. Verdict: Would not recommend
The double bed is not big enough for two people. On the plus side, the location is great and the bathroom that is shared was clean.
The mattress I slept on was broken. Literally broken. I ended up with a backache and when I told this to the guy at the reception he 'laughed'.
For what is paid it is very good price. The staff are good location is great! The hotel is self needs a lot of refurbishing. But For having your own room with toilet inside in the center of London it worth the price. Do not wait luxury you get what you pay for.
Shower has mould Pillows were full of hair Stains on the sheets
TV wasnt working connection crackled and no signal. Carpet dirty, room dirty, shared bathroom dirty, bed ok, I slept. No kettle tea/coffee. Awful place needs a total refurbish, how it stays open is beyond me.
Tiny basement room with no window. Get what you pay for so I wasn’t that bothered. Usual damage to walls and carpet, under bed wasn’t hoovered, thin walls, creaky bed. Decent position to station
I’m not happy in my room there’s no internet
There isnt much i can say about this place but i can sum it all up with just one word.... depressing.
It was and okay hotel for the night single room bit cramped with a unnecessary desk in there. I would leave the breakfast next time. Guy behind desk was friendly enough helping me with my case to top floor. Stored my luggage in the office at a charge of £2.50 per bag. It was okay for what I paid and for one night if I had to come down for cheap night again I wouldn’t mind staying there again if I had too.
It was i nice place a bit run down but you get what you pay for i would stay here again
Cleanliness and great value for money ,close to grocery and easy access to public transport
Very small room and kitchen too crowded i waant able to eat my breakfast there
Great central location
For a price of 34£ I had rooms with almost all enquires But Aquarius it was very disappointing
Bad place not recomended at all!!! Bad place not recomended at all!!!
Never stay There It’s very dirty
Perfecto frills hotel for a person that will stay most of the day out! Liked it very much ,..
I didn't like Expedia getting me a 'special offer' of £100 for two nights when everyone else staying there was paying £30 per night ! I didn't like the fact that I could not check in early (11.30am) despite paying £20 more for my room than the stated rate on the wall of the reception reception (£30) . Nor did i like the fact i couldn't leave my bags at the premises without paying extra and couldn't get wifi without paying. It felt like the famous no frills airline ... I didn't sleep much due to the creaking of the floorboards above me (I think the person involved was trying to get their 10,000 steps for the day done between midnight and two thirty both nights - and I'd to hear each step creak by creak) and the work going on in the train station after the trains stopped for the night ... (I could have jumped into the Wimbledon train it was right outside my window every few minutes )... I could go on but 😔
Affordable accommodation in an excellent location. But that is the only positive. The room itself was damp and walls and ceiling had mould. The small shower room attached to the bedroom (not really an ensuite room) was smelly and mouldy. Overall the room was dated and lacked life.
Wi-Fi is £3 per 24hrs. Shampoo and conditioner are not included in the amenities.
No soap dish found in shower and breakfast only open for 1 hour. Other than that all ok
A very basic hotel, could do with some updating. The bathroom and beds were clean
Not as it appears online. No assistance to carry your box so I had to carry my box and that of my wife on my head through a tiny staircase to the third floor which is said to be the best room as the train noise and vibration disturbs the other rooms
Decent location in West London - close to transportation
The bed was OK Very tired looking room, didn't appear to be clean No batteries in TV remote / in fact TV didn't work at all Noisy from street and underground trains
Got what i paid for . No complaints
Budget hotel with a very convenient location. Staff was extremely helpful, the room was allright as I haven't spent much time in it. Definitely not for people with high expectations...
Rooms are tiny, Breakfast consists of Toast, and corn flakes. no elevator (lift), Internet costs £6 per day.
It's a budget hotel so don't expect much but its allright and the location is good. Staff is friendly.
Location was ok.....................................
Very nice hotel, old and in need of some updating but I really liked my stay, I could have stay longer but they didn’t have vacancies. The customer service is very good and the front desk people are helpful. They have free breakfast just for one hr and if you don’t get there right away you can’t find a place to seat but since the hotel it’s located in a very nice area it’s surrounded by a ton of places to eat. The metro it’s right around the corner and a safe area to walk at night or early morning.
Have stayed here before, cheap, run down,.but bearable. Following this visit, I'm covered in bites, all over the body and some on the face. Unsightly, itchy and painful. I've never had a problem with the staff and know what I'm getting with the tiny rooms, rail noise, health and safety issues, lack of cleaning etc. The breakfast is basic, but fine. But the pain and inconvenience of bed bugs just doesn't make it worth the risk of staying here.
Bedbugs.... Awful awful place......
As a relatively cheap hotel I was expecting the single room to be small, but was pleased with the state of it in terms of cleanliness. Ther breakfast was basic but this absolutely acceptable for the type of hotel.
The best things about the Aquarius is the price and location in central London. It's a couple of minutes walk from Earls Court underground station. I was only there one night as I was attending a concert. The room had three single beds, although I was there on my own. It was pretty basic. No tea & coffee making facilities, but it did have its own bathroom. The tv remote control didn't work. Might have been the batteries, but I wasn't bothered enough to do anything about it. I was going to have the included continental breakfast but upon entering the small breakfast room downstairs it was absolutely packed. Decided to give it a miss and had a McDonalds instead, as I had a voucher. The in-room wi-fi was pretty good...for a £3 surcharge for 24 hours.
Convenient location, close to underground and many food and shops
When we arrived the first thing the manager mentioned was that we had got the room very cheap! Then he proceeded to tell us there was a problem with the room we had booked. It was an unspecified plumbing problem. He said he had another room for us with nice furniture adding that we wouldn’t have liked the furniture in the room we had booked as it was horrible. He then took us to the house next door no 18 Hogarth Rd. He took us to a room
check in time one hour very long wait the receptionist was on the phone chatting and ignored me :(
Handy to tube. They had not up dated my booking so was put in room next door which had been or was still a kitchen, not ideal. No curtains and noisey.
Had the worst stay ever! They have bed bugs I’m covered in bites and when I spoke to the
My children broke out in rashes...the hotel is substandard to say the least.
The only one advantage about this hotel is a good location near the underground station but overall of hotel is very bad and need to be improve. There are dust everywhere, especially on the carpet. It was many cockroaches in the room !
Pleasant , brilliant location, can't complain.
Too hot and five flights of stairs to get to the room
Was not informed that bathroom facilities were shared otherwise would not have booked!!!!
Very dirty, dustmite everywhere. Dirty carpets. The worst hotel I have been
Small, noisy poorly maintained
The size of the bathroom was way too small unless you were a small child. The shower was small too but manageable. Rooms were small but perfect for anyone looking for a place to sleep. Staff were nice and helpful.
Staff was friendly but the hotel was run down. Carpet was disgusting, toilet was not functional.
Reception went the extra mile in making sure our stay was as comfortable as possible
Hotel was near to tube, but was disappointing in several areas
Won’t stay here again. Bed very uncomfortable, very noisy area. I asked for an extra blanket and the hotel didn’t have it. Breakfast is only bread and cereal.
Average hotel with not much amenities.. Included FREE breakfast is nothing but 2 slices of bread!! Avoid
Super location and clean for the price, but, as with most of Zone 1 London, in need of updates and renovation. The bathroom was very small with a fixed showerhead. The manager was very nice and accommodating.
Small space including doesn’t ensuit at all Had to pay extra to get an ensuit
Excellent value for London. Very Central and you get what you pay for. A few stains on the carpet, some rusted pipes but clean and plenty of hot water. Better than expected. I found all the staff very accommodating and friendly.
The tv wasn’t working, the wardrobe and chest of draws were broken, no kettle
Just what you'd expect from a budget hotel. Pleasently suprised with how clean the room and bathroom were. Less than 1 minute from tube station, so location couldn't be any better. I'd happily stay again.
The room was awful didn't look anything like to pictures, and if they were the true pictures then they were definitely enhanced to look better!, we put up with it because we had no other option. We stayed two nights and the second night we found several Cockroaches on our floor - Horrified, my partner went and told the front desk, to be told 'They'll have it sprayed tomorrow' they didn't even come and have a look! (we took picture Obviously) We asked to move rooms, as we were very unhappy to stay in that room, however, they said we couldn't. We didn't sleep a wink that night, and it really pushed an ruined our day. The 'Continental Breakfast' was Toast and Cornflakes and for people that like their personal space, i would avoid the tea room all together as it feels you are sitting in a cupboard with 15 people! My experience with this hotel felt like one nasty surprise after another. But don't worry because "They'll be a very expensive 4 star hotel next year" Ruined our whole weekend when it was supposed to be a nice getaway!
Great location but unfortunately some staff were just rude, rooms in poor condition. It's cheap but there is clean cheap and old and this is just cheap and nasty.
The welcome was very warm from the hotel staff and the room I was given was cheap and cheerful. The shower was good but the room had a worn feeling to it. However, as I was only sleeping there for one night this did not concern me greatly. The one negative was an uncomfortable bed that needed a new mattress.
The hotel is old and hasn't been updated since the 80's. We find the hotel very dirty and no proper services. No one should pay 157 pounds for that. Don't the UK have a state department to control each hotel. This was an awful pig place. I do not recommend it to anyone. And breakfast was limited on choices. This hotel should never have been advertising on hotel com.
Prefer a hostel with en-suite room than Aquarius hotel. The only thing that was nice,in a matter of speaking, was that we arrived at 09.30 am after driving all night long and they let us check in after paying 20 GBP.
This is the worst hotwl i have ever stayed in. We arrived at 11:30 and we had to pay to get into our room early £5 per person. And cause we didnt book with the hotel we would have had to oay £10 for the wifi password. The room and batherroom were extremly small and unconfortable. Was way to close to the train lines and was so noisy. Would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
Near where we wanted to be and underground adequate for what we needef
When we arrived at the hotel, the guy at the reception was on phone for 20min and kept telling us to wait. Absolutely Rude! It doesn't look nothing like the photos! DO NOT RELY on them! ... Completely horrible, absolutely cheap budget place and got some sort of rashes from the duvet, seems like it wasn't cleaned properly. There were cockroaches in the bathroom! NOT WORTH THE PRICE.
Small room but luckily we only needed it for sleeping and shower. Bathroom was pretty small and shower was disappointing. Very close to earls court tube with lines to the city so that’s nice. Also about 30/40 minute walk to kensington gardens.
Good location, very helpful staff. The hotel was like grannies house, not Kensington palace. We prayed for all the train drivers going by till late in the night.. bed was clean and comfy.
Uncomfortable poor not happy not recommend to anyone ever
Easy to get around London from this great budget hotel.
Bit run down but okay for 2 stars
When a woman is traveling alone and the guy at the front desk of the hotel hits on her, it makes her uncomfortable. She knows that guy has a key to her room. She’s in a foreign country alone... That said, nothing bad happened. I just thought it was very bad form. The trains in and out of Earls Court are loud and frequent, but their frequency slows between midnight and 7am. Overall, this is a cheap and very reasonably priced place, and the location is excellent. It’s not the nicest, but it’ll do.
The hotel is in a great location, 2 min walk from the Earls Court Station which has the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines so easy to get to Central London. However, the furniture and look of the hotel is very out dated, it is not dirty but gives off that vibe. The hotel staff should include a trash can in the bathrooms, and since the sink is next to the window, the curtains should be cleaned as there were tooth paste residue on them. The bed was very comfy and I as a solo traveler I never felt unsafe. There is no elevator (as in most European hotels) so just keep that in mind when traveling with a heavy bag. The front man was able to help carry mine so that was appreciated. All in all, you get what you pay for. This budget hotel was not a bad experience but bring shower shoes. No free wifi, have to pay for extra towels and other amenities (check list beforehand)
A fine hotel for the price. Nothing special but friendly staff and great location made up for any minor rough edges.
There were no lifts, the manager said there were smaller rooms available which expedia did not mention so I ended up paying for a big room and taking a smaller room because there was no lifts to take me to the top floor where my reservation was and I had heavy bags. They were nice enough to help me with my big bag because even the '1st' floor of rooms is 2 flights of stairs up. There was also a cockroach in my room. Also, apparently when you book with expedia the wifi is not free/ included in the booking.
Well located for central London
Tiny room, but expected for price and location. Disappointingly the plastic cup in my room had urine in it, I assume from previous guest relieving themselves. The toilet on my floor was smaller than a airplane loo and leaked as you were using it. With the toilet so small it was impossible to not get your shoes wet. Someone suggested using basement bathroom which was an improvement, but still mouldy and needed a deep clean. Overall the experience left me feeling pretty gross.
