Best Western Plus Fernie Mountain Lodge

Great staff, location was easily walkable to several restaurants, easy drive to downtown, FRESH breakfast with changing menu items each mornings and FRESH cookies of several varieties at the front desk. Also, complimentary detergent and dryer sheets.

The fitness center was a complete afterthought and stuffed into a room that was way too small and felt claustrophobic. The pillow covers had an odd texture that seemed different than the softer bedsheets?

I was very impressed that upon check in, we received a cookie for my dog and that the room offered a big dog bed and food/water dishes as well. The breakfast that is included was also very good.

Clean, great views

the breakfast was great and a big surprise. Staff were very friendly

The beds were not very comfortable

It was so nice, people at the front counter was so good. Amenities was excellent

Nothing

Large room, comfortable beds and good facilities.

Breakfast could have had more healthy options.

Travelling with a dog, it was easy and he was made to feel welcome too. For a hotel breakfast, it was pretty good. My daughter said the beds were comfy The location was walking to grocery and Starbucks. They had a multi choice self serve coffee machine in the lobby and complimentary cookies

Having to walk so far and use an elevator to take the dog out

Huge spacious lobby -perfect to read in with family especially when it was rainy outside. Very good breakfast -lots of variety!

grand

The price was exceptional high. Will not make that mistake agin.

The hotel is on the edge of Fernie, but it is an easy walk into the main restaurants and bars. The room was spacious, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. Parking onsite is a bonus.

Fabulous room with fire. Large, clean and very comfortable. Great breakfast. Stunning location!

The staff at breakfast was the greatest ever , have strait many best western and the servitude breakfast was by far the best

Our room was clean & spacious. The staff was professional, courteous and seemed to be very happy. The breakfast was very good. Location is excellent…

room and services. pool

likes everything

I liked the friendliness of the staff. I liked the good lighting in the room during the day. the variety at breakfast. The location of the hotel.

I didn't like the strong dog smell in the hallways. The white curtain lets in light at night. I would prefer a darker room at night to rest.

The room was great and the staff all around were fantastic! Shout out to the front desk & breakfast room attendants! Hotel was clean and everyone was helpful and great! We will be back

Clean, friendly service, good breakfast.

No hot water in our room; lousy coffee.

This was our second stay at this hotel. The hotel is wonderful. The rooms are large and quiet. The staff at the front desk is super friendly. Breakfast is very good. There is plenty of parking. When going through the area, we will certainly be staying at this hotel again.

I had a great stay with my dog at the Best Western! The hotel was beatiful and in a great location. The staff were all super friendly as well! My dog was greeted with a treat and even given his own pet bed for the stay :)

The location was great, amongst beautiful mountain scenery. After a busy day it was nice to have dinner at the restaurant that's attached to the hotel (Boston Pizza). The buffet breakfast included with our stay was convenient with a good variety of options.

The view from our room was disappointing (facing the back) however we didn't spend much time there.

No makeup mirror

The pool, the breakfast and the cookies!

The location was good, quiet and easy to get to. The room was clean and comfortable. I asked for a scent free room and was accommodated. The free breakfast was great, so many choices and a lot of food and beverages to choose from. We enjoyed our stay.

Friendly staff, great breakfast. Free coffee/tea in the lounge. Swimming pool rarely busy. Good walks from hotel.

Nothing negative

Comfortable bed

Felt a bit dated

I liked the spaciousness of the entire layout of the hotel as well as our room.

It is a bit far to walk downtown and restaurants which is what we like to do.

Liked the big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion. Did not need maid service because of this!

Would have liked a cosmetic mirror. Also would have been nice to have a decaf option in the vending machine but loved having the vending machine.

Very good

When the new room with balcony is are completed

The hotel itself was very nice and the facilities were great. The breakfast was great and the entire staff was very friendly.

I feel like the mattress was a little dated.

Clean comfortable helpful staff

friendly staff. makes good eggs

Nice hotel.

It was noisy. I think there was a youth hockey tournament in town. the hotel was full of noisy children.

Pet friendly. B.P. Lounge attached.

Was unaware of construction on site which limited parking. Also, the price zwas slightly high for comparable.

We loved that, despite having a dog with us, our room was exceptional. No downgrade noticed (no plastic chairs for example). We loved the cushie dog bed, bowls and treats for our pup... and the people cookies were good too!

The weather outside was cold... but the hotel was cozy... so on the balance, I don't think this complaint counts.

Location was ok

Unfriendly after service. Was in need of a different address on the invoice which apparently can not be done after check out. . During check out i was told different. Disappointing

Location was great. Hotel very clean and comfortable.

Reception staff

Room was massive and so comfortable. Restaurant included and very handy. Very friendly staff

Clean and convenient

Nothing

It was nice, staff was great.

It was so loud! We were in room 320 and the elevator and people were so loud. Parking was scarce. We got a spot one day but had to park across the street the next.

The location and price were both very good—especially during high season. Large clean rooms, friendly staff, warm breakfast, easy walk to local amenities, equipment lockers and free ski shuttle made the hotel very convenient.

The hotel is marketed as pet-friendly, which can be a nuisance. One particular guest let her dog run unsupervised in the hallway while her room was being cleaned, letting her dog poop on the hall carpet and try to enter into other guests' rooms. When confronted by housekeeping staff and other guests she refused to take control of her dog. There needs to be higher expectations for guests choosing to bring their pets to a hotel.

The staff were incredibly kind and friendly. The hot breakfast was fantastic! The Christmas decorations were so beautiful.

Le déjeuner

After a long night due to icy highway it was so lovely to arrive at this property. Starbucks, and liquor store right in the same parking lot. Amazing front desk agents at the ready for a speedy check-in and much needed rest.. The property is so clean welcoming with all of its Christmas 🎄touches and smiles. Thank you so much!

Good

Everything

Nice property near a walking path.

Stayed one night here on our southern BC roadtrip. Check-in was painless and we had a 2Q room on the 4th floor. Room was good size and beds and pillows were good. Hotel room was clean and amenities were nice. Shortly after checking in we went for dinner at Bridge Bistro. We had the best meal of our trip so far there, and highly recommend. Only been thru Fernie once in my life, so after dinner we had a little drive around town and it is a really beautiful spot. Amazing mountains to see all around you. We had the free breakfast at the Best Western the next morning and were not impressed. But it was free. I would stay again here at the Best Western if we ever see ourselves in Fernie for a night again.

The elevators too slow, the dining area not spacious enough, the breakfast not good. The room was ok, the bathroom was ok, the curtain couldn’t be closed lacking privacy.

Very nice hotel. Great staff. Location is very central. All kinds of trails not too far. Will go again in the future for sure.

I like the new property

There was no coffee pot in the room, we prefer to have that instead of the espresso machine.

First time here in Fernie, hotel was great, rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was good.

Convenient just off main highway and 15-20 minutes walk to downtown Fernie, which is interesting with nice shops and cafes and a small interesting museum. Hotel is modern , clean , rooms plenty of space. Staff helpful and welcoming. Small indoor pool available. Boston pizza part of hotel and ok if you’re after a quick meal stop. Guests get a 10% discount I think. Breakfast included and fine though not spectacular. Time they replaced over the bath shower and horrible shower curtain with a walk in. Irritating that no room safe . Perfectly good choice for a short stay if you’re out and about.

Free cookies, staff was amazing, wonderful indoor and outdoor hot tubs, excellent breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for business and will continue to return, a great spot and has everything you need!

Excellent

Beautiful spot. Nice clean hotel, good beds, friendly staff. Hot tub was great and very clean.

This was our first time staying at the property. It was well maintained and we enjoyed how spacious the room was. The hot breakfast was an added bonus. While busy, it was well run and seating was available. The beds were very worn, felt like sleeping in a valley. We had to repeatedly ask for more towels, our room had 4 guests but we were only ever provided 3 towels. Not a huge issue but an annoyance. The housekeeping staff was very friendly which we appreciated. The reception staff was less so, quite curt and unfriendly for most interactions which was unfortunate. Overall, a good stay but some room for improvement.

Staff were very helpful and friendly

Room was very clean, quiet. Staff was very helpful. I would stay again.

Was the only hotel available. It was definitely over priced. There was a leak from an undetermined water source, and my daughters bag was soaked my some kind of mystery water. We did get points as a “appology” but still paid full price. Gym was very small, breakfast was average. We didn’t have time to try the hot tubs.

We had a nice stay at the Fernie Best Western. No major frills to this hotel, but the room is large and clean, and this is a comfortable and convenient choice in Fernie. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Everything in the room worked great. Fernie is a fun town and wish we could have stayed for more than one night!

This is the second time that we have stayed at this property and we would pick it again and again anytime we are in Fernie. The staff is so friendly and super efficient, the rooms are spacious and super clean, the breakfast is great and the pool andthe hot tubs are sparkling clean. One of our favorite hotels anywhere.

This is a great spot to stay in Fernie. Close drive to town with a great breakfast.

Great location. Close to everything. Starbucks in the same parking lot was a plus.

Our stay was perfect! We will definitely be back!!

Room was not ready when we arrived. Clerk at the desk was unable to print my receipt. Room was grossly overpriced.

Breakfast quality much better than in comparable hotels.

-

Clean rooms and wonderful customer service. The breakfast in the morning was amazing!

Not enough towels as there was 4 of us. Towels only for 3.

Excellent value. Just right for our one night stopover in Fernie - wish we could have stayed longer.

For the amount of money I paid for the room for one night, $476, I expected a little nicer room. Was a plain 2 bed queen bed room that was outdated and not the cleanest.

Front Deck was not helpful at All. No Hot Water. And asked for dis count and was immediately Answered with very Harsh NO. No explanation at all. Beds very old very well used. Hard and lumpy.

The breakfast was amazing. The bed was very comfortable. The heating/air-conditioning unit was very quiet.

Best experience

Great views from our 4th floor room. A/C was easily managed and quiet. Breakfast had a wide variety of options, hot and cold and plenty of space. Bathroom had full amenities including comfort height toilet. Tub was high and needed grab bar for getting in and out but pressure was good. Front desk had especially helpful folks.

Great place to stay!

Beautiful location with lovely mountain view. Nicely decorated hotel and room. Pool area was lovely. The breakfast buffet was amazing as included in the price of the room. We were welcomed in the most wonderful way - given some coupons for the local brewry and the restaurant next door. We definitely stay there again.
