Provider-sourced guest reviews.
This place was absolutely amazing. We came during the off season, so prices were lower, but even at the normal rate I would absolutely say it is worth it. The room was huge and felt more like an apartment, with a full kitchen, refrigerator, oven, microwave, toaster, two coffee machines, and basically everything you could need. You could literally cook a whole turkey if you wanted to. The bed was extremely comfortable, the AC worked flawlessly, and they have their own generators, so electricity is never something you have to worry about. Service was excellent almost across the board. They create a WhatsApp group for your stay, so you can simply message the team whenever you need anything and they handle it. No calling reception or walking downstairs. With the exception of one person, everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive. The property itself is magnificent. There are several pools, a beautiful beach, complimentary snorkeling excursions, fresh coconuts in the mornings, and gorgeous jacuzzis with fire features in the middle. At night they look incredible, and you can even have food delivered while you're sitting in the jacuzzi. During the off season, weekdays were wonderfully quiet and at times it felt like we had parts of the resort almost to ourselves. Weekends get noticeably busier with people coming from Santiago and elsewhere, which honestly just shows that locals know how good this place is. We also ate at Aguají by Chef Tita, the fine dining restaurant at the hotel, and it was exceptional. The menu changes regularly and is a fine dining interpretation of Dominican cuisine. I've eaten at many Michelin-starred restaurants, and in my opinion this could compete at that level. It is expensive, though. Dinner for three was around $1,000, but the food was incredible. Overall, the rooms, location, service, amenities, and all the little extras make this place very special. I would highly recommend it and absolutely stay here again.
There honestly wasn't much we disliked. Breakfast was included, which is a nice benefit, but I personally didn't think the breakfast was particularly good compared with everything else the property offers. If I stayed again, I would probably skip breakfast, enjoy the beach or one of the pools in the morning, and then have lunch at one of the restaurants instead. We also had one negative interaction with a single staff member, but that person was very much the exception. Everyone else we dealt with throughout the stay was excellent.
Sights were beautifull and was a relaxing place. Food was very good.
Property is beat up and in my opinion, does not represent marriot standart for "luxury". There is a lack of detail managments to be called luxury experience. Sea water pool and the jacuzzi weren't clean with moldy on the teals and flooting around.
Todo, un lugar excepcional.
Nada
The Ocean Club provides excellence! The view of the ocean and the mountains from our suite was stunning, the grounds and pool are maintained beautifully and their staff is attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful can of expensive do not include nothing no even water
magnifique emplacement, chambres fantastiques tres grandes, en fait ce sont des appartements, literie tres confortable, personnel tres attentionné, tout était parfait, je recommande
tout était parfait
Our stay at The Ocean Club was the perfect ending to our Dominican Republic trip. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a refreshing drink that immediately set the tone for the exceptional hospitality we would experience throughout our stay. The property is absolutely stunning. Everything feels luxurious, from the beautifully designed grounds to the breathtaking ocean views. Our room overlooked the water, and watching the sunset from our balcony each evening was simply mesmerizing. The service was truly world-class. We had a dedicated concierge who made sure every detail of our stay was taken care of, whether it was arranging laundry service, coordinating food delivery, or answering any request we had. The staff consistently went above and beyond. The bar serves exquisite handcrafted cocktails, and the wine cellar is a wonderful place to unwind. We enjoyed relaxing there while watching the FIFA matches, which made for a perfect evening. After spending hours driving across the island before arriving, I wasn't feeling my best. The staff's kindness made a lasting impression—they thoughtfully brought me a healing watermelon soup along with fresh lemon juice, a gesture I'll never forget. If you're looking for peace, privacy, and a true luxury experience, this is the place. It is definitely on the expensive side, but the impeccable service, tranquil atmosphere, and unforgettable views make it worth every penny. We left feeling refreshed, cared for, and already looking forward to returning.
It was a spontaneous decision because our original plans have been canceled. But it became one of our most relaxed holidays. The staffs are friendly, specially all the reception team. We received very welcome checkin( with a surprise treatment because of our anniversary) and farewell at checkout. The room was nice because we had a standing view of the ocean. The F&B was good. The price of the house wine I think it can be reconsidered. For breakfast, we had fixed continental breakfast included everyday. I think you can give guests an allowance( exp:18$/day) then they can order different types of breakfast.( guests needs to pay the differences if it is over 18$.) The swimming pools and the beach were perfect with blue sky touched with clouds and white fine sand. The ombré sea stretches to the horizon. How beautiful was it? I can not stop taking pics. You have to come and discover yourself.
We loved the tranquil atmosphere and extremely attentive staff. Five stars.
Great hotel, amazing service and beautiful views.
Beautiful beachfront resort. Amazing views. Good food. Service a bit slow though..overall will definitely recommend
Beautiful location, very friendly staff. We had a great time!!!
Unbelievably perfect. We felt like royalty the moment we were picked up from the airport. The staff is so friendly and ready to help with anything. Even arranging a driver for us to go to Puerto Plata to do our own touring. The views and calm atmosphere are exactly what we were looking for. Security is a top priority here. You feel very comfortable. The restaurants on site are delicious with gorgeous views. There is no need to leave. Immaculately clean room. We stayed in the 2 bedroom “duplex” and it defines upper level beachfront Caribbean. We will be returning, over and over again. Big thank you to Enna and Augustina for making this stay perfect.
We stayed here for the first leg of our honeymoon, and it absolutely set the bar high. The amenities are fantastic—we spent plenty of evenings relaxing in the hot tub with fireplace—but the location is also perfect. It feels like a private oasis, yet it’s incredibly convenient to Cabarete and plenty of fantastic local restaurants. We much prefer this over an all inclusive resort, because we were able to get out and explore each day but come back to a luxury place each evening. One of our favorite touches was the dedicated WhatsApp group with the concierge and front desk. It made communicating with the team so incredibly easy at all hours, and they were always quick to help. The breakfast was amazing and fresh every single day (we loved Yohanny) with amazing options, including their take on the local Dominican classic tres golpes. And the snorkeling excursion was an absolute blast. Huge shoutout to Ray and Yohemi! If you're looking for a mix of relaxation with awesome pools, top-tier service, and easy access to local culture, this is the place. We can't wait to come back!
The property is beautiful and the location is perfect. We had a big, clean, very well appointed two bedroom suite. Floor to ceiling windows (two stories) were amazing. The pools, the beach, spa (I had a fantastic massage), restaurants / bars and all public spaces were immaculate and well maintained. Above all, the service was extraordinary. A great stay.
I truly cannot say enough amazing things about my stay at The Ocean Club Resort in Sosúa for my 30th birthday—it was nothing short of perfect from start to finish. Every morning felt like a dream. We started our days slowly, enjoying the most delicious fresh Caribbean fruit and warm, freshly baked pastries in the most peaceful, relaxing setting overlooking the mountains across the island. It was the kind of place that forces you to slow down and actually enjoy every moment. The highlight of the trip was hands down my private birthday dinner on the beach. The setup was absolutely stunning, complete with beautiful birthday balloon décor that made it feel so personal and special. Not another soul in site other than the chef and waiter. The food was incredible, and the entire experience felt like something out of a movie. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. The waiters and waitresses were beyond fabulous—so warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The front desk staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was seamless. They were incredibly accommodating and truly made us feel valued and welcomed every step of the way. We were also lucky enough to receive a room upgrade, and it completely exceeded our expectations. Our luxurious three-bedroom suite was stunning—spacious, beautifully designed, and the perfect place to celebrate such a special occasion. I mean… I could shower while looking at ocean! No windows, just a wide open door overlooking the beautiful island hills, water, and beach. The resort made everything effortless. Airport pickup and drop-off were flawlessly arranged, and we had a private driver who is employed by the hotel for the entire week, which made exploring so easy and stress-free. Beyond the resort, the charm of Sosúa made the trip even more unforgettable. The island scenery is breathtaking, and I loved experiencing the local culture—seeing locals on their motorbikes, stopping by small shops, and trying food from local stands added such an authentic and vibrant touch to the trip. This was more than just a vacation—it was a truly unforgettable experience and the perfect way to celebrate a milestone birthday. I would return in a heartbeat and recommend The Ocean Club Resort to anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and genuinely special getaway. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Ocean Club concierge staff (Enna Hernandez, Laura Jaimes, Melanie Oehlert, Savahna De Gracia, and any others I may have missed, everyone was wonderful!)
Very private and quiet location. Perfect if you are a group of people and prefer privacy. The staff was excellent. Very welcoming, affectionate, attentive, always willing to assist you and your family with anything you needed. The suites were beautifully kept, cleaned and maintained. Every single location and staff within this resort deserves a 10+ rating. The food was absolutely amazing. The beach was beautiful and very private but when we go back again there which we will DEFINITELY do so, I will pick maybe a different month because the water was a little rough. We went there the first week of April so I would recommend to go in a different time. I don’t think they give this place enough credit online. When I was doing my research, couldn’t find much about it. But trust me this was absolutely a beautiful place with absolutely beautiful people, and I’m referring to their staff.
Our stay at The Ocean Club was truly exceptional from start to finish. We had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful beach, warm sunshine, and relaxing atmosphere throughout the entire trip. The resort itself is very inviting, with well-kept grounds and a calm atmosphere that made it easy to relax. The food and drinks were excellent—each meal was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared, and the beverage options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, were equally impressive. What made the experience even better was the overall service and hospitality. The staff made us feel welcome and taken care of, which added to an already memorable vacation. We had a fantastic trip and would absolutely return. Highly recommend for families looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.
I love this private beach luxury property! We traveled there for our anniversary…and are glad we did! The staff and their attention to detail was outstanding! Our room was always maintained when we left the service request on our door. The housekeeping staff provided turn down service every evening while we were at dinner. The wait staff is super attentive and always super nice. They even recognized we had a favorite drink and offered it to us even before we had a chance to ask! The wait staff that worked at Baia, the pools, Sun Club and lounge spaces were always attentive and provided just the right mix of attentiveness without hovering. We throughly enjoyed the fresh food options at Baia Lounge and the Sun Club. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone. The grill master that cooked on the beach and at the Sun Club is amazing. The food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. When we were at the many pools/ jacuzzis we always had space and never felt crowded. The property was quiet and relaxing. During the afternoons on the days the Sun Club was open, there was a DJ that played beach vibe music that was just loud enough to create a vibe without disturbing guests. The room we stayed in was wonderful. The decor and finishes were perfect for a luxury beach stay. The property was beautifully maintained. You could see hotel management out and about with the other hotel staff monitoring and quietly directing. You could tell everyone enjoyed working at Ocean Club, cared about each guests needs/experience, and really wanted every guest to enjoy themselves. We loved our stay at Ocean Club so much, we will return again in the near future! We are going to be regulars—LOL!
Staff is super friendly and the service is great.
The Ocean Club in Puerto Plata was outstanding — every detail felt luxurious and effortless. Our room was spacious with breathtaking ocean views, the pools and private beach were pristine, and the spa was a perfect escape. Staff were friendly and attentive, making our stay seamless from arrival to departure. Highly recommended for a relaxing, upscale Caribbean getaway. Shoutout to all staff.. Thank you
I will start by saying the views were absolutely beautiful to take in, the hotel is nice, and the beach just steps from the hotel was absolutely beautiful. The hotel itself is only around 4 years old according to our driver but the rooms are pretty beat up… broken cabinet doors, finishes looked worn and beat up, the shower head holder couldn’t handle the water past a certain pressure and would spin up to the ceiling if turned all the way on, the window had multiple cracks in it, and I woke up one day to a giant roach dying on the floor next to me so I was a little on edge after that, worried I’d see more. The salt water pool was visibly dirty as we could see some algae or mold growing on the surface so we decided not to get in. The restaurant service was slow, food tasted pretty mediocre (steak frites was good) most of the servers didn’t speak much English and weren’t very attentive, we often had to get someone’s attention to get what we needed while dining. We were told they offer a beachside private dining experience but after reaching out 6 times and only getting “we are checking on availability and will let you know” we gave up. We had a concierge number to text for our needs but they were pretty slow or unresponsive compared to other places I’ve stayed with this type of service. Their spa was not setup to accommodate a prenatal massage so we were unable to get massages as well, which really isn’t a problem, just sharing for anyone else who may be considering this service (we went for anniversary/babymoon). We typically travel luxury so our standards are pretty high and this location simply did not meet our expectations. It wasn’t horrible, as I was comfortable to sleep there and enjoy my stay, but I wouldn’t consider this a luxury resort and we personally won’t be back.
Lovely setting, however not a luxury resort. This hotel needs a lot of maintenance and they seem to be doing it piece by piece as guests complain. Broken lights, handrails, rust, and safety concerns seem to be the norm here. The rooms are plenty big, but don’t be fooled by the full kitchens. None of the appliances work, so don’t buy a ton of groceries in hopes of doing light cooking. They will go to waste. The staff works hard, however they are not trained for luxury resorts. There is really only 1 restaurant open throughout the week, and 2 pools, despite the advertising on Bonvoy. Our entire trip was spend asking for things to be remedied, just to maintain our safety. This does not include the broken items throughout. Management is kind, but really offered nothing to make amendments for the shortcomings. Beautiful beach, ok resort.
Wife and I had just returned from a trip with a group of friends and we wanted some time alone to just relax and be on our own schedule. The Ocean Club exceeded our expectations in terms of providing an amazing experience for rest and relaxation. Job well done to Melanie and the entire team.
The concierge staff was amazing!! They were so helpful- from finding a replacement for a prescription medication that got left at home and getting us a room when our flight home got canceled at the last minute. Can't say enough good things about the entire stay!
This luxury collection by Marriott is in a great location. A staff member pick us up at the airport. Checkin was easy and the staff is very nice and helpful especially Melisssa. We had a delicious welcome drink. Our room/ Suite was beautiful, with ocean view balcony and even washer and dryer! There is limited options for restaurant but food was good. The staff was very nice especially Nelfi. Be aware that they don’t all speak English. There are multiple pools and again the staff at the main pool is attentive (Yoemi and Roy) and they also did the kayak snorkeling with us, fun activity. The massage at the Spa was awazing. The main issue we had was not having warm water for a couple of days. Enna the General manager was on site and responsive. Thank you Ocean Club team for the great vacations.
What an experience, from the front desk team to the concierge team fantastic service and always there. If you were at the pool or beach the service team was always there for you, either for towels, food, snorkeling or drinks. The restaurant was delicious you just have to be patient. The room was fantastic with amazing views and plenty of space. We can’t wait to go back.
Loved this resort. The pools are incredible with amazing ocean view. The beach is pristine and gorgeous. We loved the vibe , the atmosphere and the service was phenomenal. We will be back!
One of the best service Ive had in my life! I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you for a great experience.
My wife and I visited this beautiful resort last week for my birthday. We had amazing airport car service provided by the hotel. The welcome was top notch and we actually received an upgrade to what one.of the most spacious rooms we have ever stayed in. The view was unbelievable. We were a bit disappointed that the Sun Club was not open during our stay and the weather was iffy. Wd also were a bit surprised that I guess it was housecleaning attempting to come in the room at 7p(weird time) one night. All in all it was a good stay. Thank you.
Our 4 night vacation was one the best ever. Very relaxing and the best service of any place I have been in my years of traveling. Everyone was smiling and full of enthusiasm and energy. We plan on coming back not sure when. I want to thank everybody for making us stay wonderful.
Most an amazing resort! Thank you to Emma for her assistance and courtesy
This hotel has everything. Close to airport, easy and safe walk to town, short taxi ride to Cabarete, great beaches on property, pools, superb restaurant headed by award winning Chef Tita. But the best part is the people headed up by GM Enna and including Laura, Agustina, Valeria, & Mellanie. Every day they sent us a message asking what they could do to make our stay(s) better. Truthfully there was nothing more to do because our every need was anticipated and fulfilled. We stayed 7 days at end of Jan, came back again at end of Feb, and are already looking forward to going back.
No existe otro hotel boutique q se compare 😊❤️
Todo!!
I’m honestly shocked this place is still allowed to be part of the Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts program. If you value your money or your safety, do not make the mistake of staying at The Ocean Club, Costa Norte. Your Valuables are NOT Safe Here While I was at a spa appointment—a time the hotel knew my room was empty—someone went through my backpack and took my credit and debit cards. They were physically used for fraudulent charges while I was getting a massage. The thieves actually put the cards back in my wallet afterward, but they were in the wrong order, so it was obvious someone had been rummaging through my personal stuff. The management’s response? A total joke. They "investigated" themselves and found no wrongdoing , and now they are harassing me for a $600 balance they forgot to charge because of their own "human error". They have zero financial integrity and clearly don't care about guest security. The Property is a Dump Calling this a "Luxury Collection" resort is a lie. The place is falling apart: Building Decay: The exterior of the resort is literally crumbling, with slats falling off the buildings. Safety Hazard: There was a terrifying smell of natural gas in my room when using the in-room dryer. Broken Gym: Don't bother with the fitness center; the equipment is broken, unusable, and covered in cobwebs. Bottom Line The staff cannot be trusted, the rooms are questionable, and the management is dismissive. I've already reported this nightmare to Marriott Corporate and Amex Travel. Save yourself the headache and the fraud alerts—stay somewhere else.
During my stay 02/05/26 - 02/09/26it was extremely disappointing to say the least. At first glance this appears to be a very nice resort. Until I got into my room. While walking through the room it clearly was a little worn. Water damage was evident in the bathroom. A smell of mildew and sour smell. It appeared no attempt to fix the issues had been made. Ihad a garden view room so I decided to go out onto the patio to take a look around. The electric blind did not work. The blind would not raise from the lowered position. I went around the blind to access the patio and the approximately 8 foot metal bart hat rolls the blind up completely fell from the ceiling and hit me in the top of the head. After gathering myself I notified the front desk. I was told they would fix it the following day because it was later in the evening and it would take a while to repair it. No mention of putting me into a different room. That evening I turned on the shower and noticed water spraying and splashing all over the floor in the bathroom on both sides of the walk through shower. After looking up at the shower several of the small spray nozzles were missing. Water was splashing out of those holes. Water was also coming from somewhere on top of the shower head. So much water splashing that I had to put towels on the floor to attempt to keep the floor outside the shower dry. The blanket on the bed had a sour smell and stains that appeared to have never come out during the wash or it was never washed. The next morning I told management I would be leaving the room for a few hours so they could fix the issues. I later returned and the large blind was back up on the ceiling. I went to the remote to see if it would open. It did not open. Still not working. The following morning I attempted to go around the blind to the patio again the entire metal blind came crashing down on top of my head for the second time. After a few minutes of gathering myself I took a shower so I could go see management. Again the same damaged shower head completely wet the floor. I went to management again and explained it was the second time the blind fell from the ceiling and hit me in the head. Still no mention of moving me to another room by management. I left the resort to meet friends for lunch. I later returned the room had been serviced. New towels but not enough to keep the floor dry and to dry myself after the shower as I requested extra towels. The blind was back up kn the ceiling. Small pieces of wood, dust of sheet rock and a large rock was left on the TV stand and night stand. My guess is these were things used for the repair of the large blind. I tried the remote it still didn't work. This was a disaster of a stay at a hotel that has a luxury brand attached to it. I can't begin to explain how disappointed I was with the hotel and management who added to my frustration and headache for several days after being struck in the top of the head twice by the blind.
Travelling as of Jan 2026 Check-in was not smooth at all. We are told to pay $50 per child per night extra charge. Not clearly outlined when we made the booking, and slapped on top like a money grab. On the concierge tour - the property is indeed very small and limited. We were told by our assigned concierge (she) will create a WhatsApp group so she can let us know when our room is ready plus share other info. That was literally two hours ago… and now she has disappeared so what will happen next is a mystery. Guests should get used to radio silence from their dedicated concierge I guess. Checking in - now it is nearly 4pm even though official check in time is 3pm. Still awaiting any updates from the staff about our room? Kids are getting bored… Baia Lounge restaurant - food is pretty sub par, and menu is limited. Upon ordering the chef’s burger, we are told there is a 45min wait as the chef needs to make the bun from scratch? Is this for real? Tuna sandwich arrives with cold fries and toasted bread that is also cold. I am worried about tomorrow’s breakfast - will it be just as disappointing? More updates to come …
Bonito lugar
This is our second stay at the Ocean Club and we absolutely love it. We always come during the Thanksgiving break, and it’s usually less crowded. At check-in we were upgraded thanks to my Gold status. From start to finish the staff takes great care of you. The property has multiple pools, a spa, a restaurant, a gym, etc. The rooms are large and well-equipped, with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, iron, and a living room. They also set up a WhatsApp group for us, so every request, from a boat tour to room service and spa was handled quickly there. The food and breakfast at the restaurant were excellent. I really can’t think of any downside, maybe the restaurant and drinks are priced a bit high, but overall everything was perfect, especially the staff. We’ll definitely be back next year.
We just got back from 4 days in a 3-bedroom oceanfront suite at the Ocean Club. The service was excellent and the staff were very pleasant, which greatly enhanced our stay. When my Mom was bothered by the jute rug in her room, they had it removed immediately. Agustina was the most lovely concierge, and my mom and I were delighted by the snorkelling tour that she arranged for us right from their beach. The restaurant was very pricey, but there are a lot of great restaurants within walking distance and we felt pretty safe the entire time. The resort itself is lovely and it was a beautiful, short holiday.
Hands down the best stay of a lifetime! One of the most amazing properties I have stayed at within the Bonvoy collection of brands. From the minute we arrived we were treated like we were the only ones in the resort. The check in process is very personable and the attention to detail is incredible. The staff at check in make sure your every need is met; no matter what. You are given a tour of the property personally and your room is toured with a client services member to make sure everything is up to your satisfaction. Throughout your stay you will be greeted and cared for by everyone. The many wonderful client services individuals are there for you throughout your stay. From our many requests, none was to big and every desire was met. From extra towels, to planning an anniversary surprise, to arranging fun activities. One of the most special memories was when our client services specialist met us at breakfast to ensure our stay was up to the highest standards. Overall, I personally could not recommend this property more highly. We said last night, if it was an option we would live here. In all, this property has better service than a Ritz Carlton or JW Marriott. I would rather stay here than any other luxury hotel in the world. In closing, a sincere thank you to than many wonderful individuals that bring this resort to life and focus on guest satisfaction. Your hard work is/was appreciated and noticed. Very pretty and calming.
I honestly have to say The Ocean Club, is my favorite Hotel stay when visiting the Dominican Republic. The staff goes beyond to make sure feel welcomed. Thanks to all and thanks to Amex for recommending this Fine Resort and Stay Hotel
This hotel is the perfect example of a FINE HOTELS + RESORTS Stay. Thanks, AMEX, for recommending it. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is the best: the view, the food, and the extra clean rooms. I have stayed there for three straight years, and I love it every time.
We’ve spent a lot of time vacationing throughout Mexico and the Caribbean, but this was our first trip to the Dominican Republic—and it absolutely delivered. From the moment we arrived at Ocean Club Costa Norte, the staff made a lasting impression. Some of the friendliest, most attentive people we’ve come across anywhere. Everyone—from front desk to beachside service—was genuinely helpful and always a step ahead. The resort itself feels like a hidden retreat, tucked into a quiet part of Sosúa. It’s peaceful, beautifully kept, and has a calm, private feel that made it easy to unwind. The beach is gorgeous, the ocean is warm and clear, and the saltwater pools quickly became one of our favorite spots to relax. Food and drinks were consistently excellent—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Dining here never felt like an afterthought—it was something we looked forward to every day. Rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and many offer jaw-dropping ocean views. Waking up to that every morning never got old. The Veuve Clicquot–branded Sun Club deserves a mention too—it’s a fun, stylish space that gives the whole resort experience a little extra energy and uniqueness. It’s not the easiest place to get to, but once you’re there, you’ll understand why people rave about it. Incredible service, beautiful setting, and the kind of relaxing vibe that’s hard to find. We usually try new places for each beach trip—but this one’s already on the list for a return visit. Can’t recommend it enough.
The best place to stay in the area. The 2 best restaurants in Sosua are Margot & Dolci e Sapori are next door and a 7 minute walk. This hotel is a Mariot experience and is truly the nicest, cleanest & only upscale hotel in Sosua. Private beach, full staff all over to pamper you & the full 5 star experience! Its my second time here.
The staff are amazing & super friendly. Very accommodating and attentive to your needs. Restaurants have an amazing variety & great quality. You in a serene environment that makes you feel at peace
Amazing hotel, good food and excellent staff, specially waiters specifically Juan and Helen.
If you're looking for a minimalistic, comfortable, and relaxing place to stay, this hotel has it all: excellent service, food that is very good, quiet, and a beautiful room.
I didn’t give 10/10 because the var closed really
Great stay coming back again
Property was five stars. I give the property an A+. The views are amazing, the pools, the hot tub, the beach, the food, the restaurants all A+
The management in this location is horrible as well as the employees. I have never been so embarrassed with the management in any other property in my entire life.
The staff is friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed every moment of my stay. The staff helped enhance my experience. I look forward to returning.
Continental breakfast
No guess allowed to visit
My friend and I stayed here for a week and we honestly couldn’t stop saying out loud “this place is amazing.” Not only amazing, but absolutely beyond beautiful. The private beach, the top notch service, kind staff, responsive to everything we asked, THE FOOD- continental breakfast was beyond what we expected, dinner was also delicious and so fresh. Everyone was so nice and gave us restaurant recommendations outside the resort as well. 1000% will be coming back!!
This was a really good vacations one again here and we love casa marina for ever, the view like ever and a good relaxing time around the jacuzzy.Food and drinks all way very good, but the best are the entertainment team with the activities around the pool and at night time during the show time, thanks to kasandra(chocolate) and Amaury(chihuahua)the entertainment supervisor.i will be back dor sure all way.animations excellent.
Staff very unprofessional
Loved it
Great resort. Well appointed suites. Dinner on beach with personal chef (WILFRY) and waitress (MARLINI). PHENOMENAL FOOD AND SERVICE. Baia restaurant was awesome! Especially Helen. You absolutely must visit this paradise in the DR. Very beautiful!!!!!!
We stayed at the Ocean Club in February and while it wasn’t a “bad” experience it ended being quite negative because of expectations. Topline is that at the end of the day this should in no way be part of the Luxury Collection. It just isn’t up to par…it’s nice don’t get me wrong, but not part of the collection. OC should be part of the Autograph Collection as that is what it delivers upon (upper mid-range properties vs 5 star luxury). This hotel is just run down. I have a list of issues a mile long driven by the fact that I was expecting a LC property so it fell significantly short. Room: we had to change rooms because the first one just wasn’t acceptable…dead bugs on the floor, broken cabinets, open toothpaste tubes in the bathroom, towel holders falling off the wall and someone’s hairs all over the couch. The room was also very “cold” and uninviting which one can still achieve (warmth) with modern decor. And yet when we switched rooms there was only 1 robe in the room, no body lotion, body wash/shampoo bottles were filled with water, and the espresso machine was missing so I had to carry the one from the original room. Not to mention the power kept going on and off for no reason. It has a very “IKEA” feel to it. Food wise, a buffet was offered a couple mornings during the stay and the food was ice cold…the burners were out under the food pans so I had to ask them to prepare me food that was edible. The gym is very small for a “luxury” property and was stifling hot…almost no air con in there at all. Many elevators are in complete disarray with mold on the floors and barely working lights. Service at the pool was very slow…45 min for gazpacho (it’s cold, how long does it take to bring it over) and others noted coconut water and ice cream served during the day but that never happened over the 5 days we were there. We always had to flag someone down…no one ever came up to ask if we needed anything. One day, at the adult pool a woman fell when the wooden chaise under her completely snapped in half (and she was a tiny lady.) We ate at a couple restaurants around the hotel but the area has a very sketchy vibe to it. Also we were there Sat-Thurs in the dead of winter and the weekdays were empty…a handful of people were at the pool so we have no idea how this place stays open. The staff tries, but in the end, it’s a fine hotel to relax by the pool, sit by the beach and chill out, but DO NOT expect a luxury property in either service or construction.
Beautiful property with beautiful scenes…I will be back again.
Just landed after a long weekend visit but the experience was far from “luxury”. I’m very surprised at the 5 star rating this place has. It was a nice looking resort from afar but the cons overshadowed any positives about this resort. Pros: -Received a free room upgrade (resort seemed fairly slow/empty but it was still very appreciated) -Live DJ at Veuvet Clicqout Sun Club -Close to Airport -Resort was empty so no fighting for pool/beach chairs Cons: - Service was slow and just terrible throughout the resort with the exception of one waiter our entire stay even though the resort seemed empty. Expect to ask 3 or 4 times if you need anything. -Limited dining options (plan to find dining options elsewhere if you stay more than a weekend) - No walkable beach- Beach was extremely small and located to the side of a concrete dock and giant rock wall -Extremely overpriced menu for what they serve. The menus are a hit or miss mix of average to downright bad dishes. - Many items on the menu are unavailable (one day they didn’t even have a basic burger) - out of group of 7, 4 of us got some type of stomach issue after dinner -the rooms are poorly constructed and certain areas were worn (in our room there was errant paint marks on the blinds, sliding glass doors didn’t lock, leaky faucet, clogged drains and the floating staircase in our unit had loose stairs) Given all the other Caribbean Islands (or even other parts of DR like La Romana) you could visit that provide better amenities, beaches, and food options, it would be hard to justify recommending this resort.
A beautiful resort with a private small beach. Lovely staff with regard to courtesy. We were upgraded to a Suite with full kitchen, LR, and patio. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was spacious. They welcomed us with birthday balloons and a cake which made my day very special. Food in the lounge restaurant was very good, although a bit pricey. The occasional coconut by the beach was very much appreciated! Some great staff we encountered were: Nelfie, Franklin, Jose Luis, and many more. There are several options outside the resort if you want to explore local eateries. Waterfront Alicia is excellent for any meal overlooking the bigger beach. They offered one yoga class during the week.
Property is clean and the staff is great. My wife needed medical attention and the facility did not have a protocol on when a guest gets sick and needs immediate attention. I had to wait for the staff to call a manager and so on. They need to have a doctor on call because the clinics are terrible .
our experience at this hotel was horrible, i advise anyone to stay away, far far away. the hotel is very dirty and never organized. the rooms are smelly and falling apart! there is mold in every room. the food is very bad and the showers don't have hot water! this hotel should be a 1 star.
We had a lovely, very relaxing visit with another couple at this resort. We stayed in a three bedroom, 3 1/2 bath suite with a full kitchen, facing the ocean. The greatest asset this resort has is its people. EVERYONE was very friendly and did their best to make us feel special. One of their guest relations managers, Agustina, was a fabulous hostess. She made sure we were taken care of. Agustina is a wonderful ambassador. The quality of the food also exceeded our expectations. We dined numerous times at both restaurants. One of our friends has quite a list of allergies and rarely travels because of that. She gave Agustina a list of her food allergies and we had no trouble finding her a proper meal. The only reason I didn’t give the resort a “5” was due to a number of maintenance issues with the suite. However I should add that every issue was promptly taken care of once we brought it to management’s attention. The beach has ample shaded lounge areas as does the pool. It was another thing we didn’t have to worry about, getting up early and running down to secure a spot at the beach. If you are looking for a quiet place where you can relax, this resort is for you.
From the moment we arrived until the end of our stay, the staff treated us exceptionally well. The hotel restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with beautifully presented and delicious food—our waiter, Juan, was outstanding! The beach and pool staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Our room was spacious with a stunning view of the pool and beach. The sandy beach was a highlight, with fish swimming playfully around our feet, and both the pool and beach areas were delightfully uncrowded. There’s even a helicopter landing zone, presumably for flights to STI airport. For variety, there are several restaurants within 2-3 blocks if you feel like exploring beyond the hotel’s offerings. The hotel also features valet service, a spa, cozy fireplaces to enjoy at night, hot tubs, and a responsive WhatsApp service for immediate assistance or updates. The attention to detail and quality of service made our stay unforgettable!
The was a girl’s trip with my childhood friend. Our time at The Ocean Club exceeded our expectations. The endless pool, the crash of the ocean waves, the serenity and luxury feel of this hotel were spectacular. The rooms are expansive, bright, well-appointed, extremely comfortable and well air conditioned. The hotel concierge and staff were communicative, inviting and informative. The two onsite restaurants were outstanding in aesthetic and food quality. Particularly, the thought and attention that went into the 4 course tasting menu at Agaji - showcasing dishes unique to the Dominican Republic. For other adventures, the hotel supplies a brochure equipped with a plethora of excursions the concierge can organize for you. Overall, you would be hard-pressed to find a stay quite as unique in that it checks off all the boxes, so-to-speak - if you’re looking for quality, serenity, and an unpretentious sophistication.
Excellent service, friendly...very quiet and confortable rooms, service and food more than excellent...5 stars place...the view is incredible..................................... .........................................
Perfect place for a PEACEFUL family vacation!! My kids had so much fun just running around the beach and jumping in and out of the three pools and two picuzzis! The kids also had a blast using the chaiselounges as slides inside the saltwater pool and playing beach volleyball! The food was super yummy!!! Try the pastries during breakfast and the mangú!!! AGUAJÍ IS A MUST! the chef is the famous Chef Tita…. Soooo soooo goood, the chicharron, the shrimp ceviche, the papardelle, the chicharron rissoto, and the asopao de langosta, the bread pudding! Basically everything was perfect! The Picuzzi fire pits are unreal…. The views are JUST WOW!! You can see all the mountains of Puerto Plata and the beautiful Sosúa Bay! And last but not least… THE SPA…. Wooww woooww wooowww… we got a couples massage and we enjoyed every second of it… i dare say it’s in my TOP 3 Spas in the DR (and i’ve been around Spas :p ) I also recommend for couples… my husband and I went two years ago and enjoyed it sooo much!
I have stayed in many different resorts in the past, and so far this is the most beautiful of all, it’s so amazing from the pools, to the views extraordinary. I was amazed!! The staff is very friendly and are always making you feel welcomed. They go above and beyond to take care of your needs.
Just wish there was more to do
this hotel is nice and quite. The staff were very accommodating and professional.
excellent hotel, everything is very beautiful and clean, we received the best attention, we have no complaints, everyone was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, we were very happy with everything we ordered, and we had the best view also
This property was amazing. It was a magical experience that I will never forget. The Vibe was amazing, The Views were amazing, The Rooms were amazing, The Pool was amazing. It's hard to tell whether the property was more beautiful during the daytime or nighttime, The Valet guys were great. I really loved this place, and I can't wait to return.
This is probably the best hotel I have stayed in the north coast ever. Incredible rooms, private beach. It's small, so no long walks to get from one place to another. The 2 restaurants are very good, but plan on going out for dinner or lunch. And the staff is extraordinary. Best weekend getaway I've had in ages.
Great hotel. Super friendly and attentive service. All to an exceptional standard. Hotel located in a beautiful area, with direct access to the beach. Water sports available too! The food, including breakfast and room service was delicious!!
Excellent experience. Every single member of your hospitality team were beyond my expectations as a customer. The room was implacable clean (room). All the amenities (pool, gym)were well take care of, making my experience beyond my expectations. Food at the restaurant was amazing, making my stay very relaxing
My wife and I have an incredible time at the Ocean Club. The rooms and amenities were amazing, but most impressive was the service. The host heated us at midnight upon arrival. The room was pleasantly prepped for our anniversary celebration. Nelfy and the rest of the staff were so attentive and so solicitous it just made for a magical experience!
I would like to start by saying that this property is very nice, well maintained thru out the day and many staff members greeted us through out our stay, reminding us that they were at our disposal for anything we needed. It’s on par with what we expected from Marriott Luxury Collection brand. The room we booked was a 1 bedroom suite ocean view and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a little pricey but it was a huge apartment. Too bad we were only there for 3 night. A shout out to Yoemi, Nelfi, Angel and Alonso. These guys work by the restaurant/main pool area and they made sure we had everything we needed, be it towels, pool beds, food, nice coconut water and drinks by the pool. I would return to stay at Ocean Club Sosua because it was a wonderful stay for us.
Great place for relax!
Love the restaurant, food was 10/10.
We were upgraded to a sweet with a kitchen it was beautiful
Great Customer service and handle your request with total professionalism. I definitely will return.
The one bedroom apartment was nice, spacious and had all great amenities.
We found the property ran down. It needs a lot of love. For example, the glass railing on balcony had white paint all over them, they have 2 billard tables but the queues were all broken. The gym had very old equipment, no big deal, but the ceiling was all moldy, you can smell the mold when walking in the gym. The pools were gross with a filthy film floating. There wasn’t any sort of water flowing/filtration. Food and drinks were extremely overpriced for the quality.
