Northpark Motel

The bedsheet were not fresh. There were stains on the sheet. Tried to call reception but no answer and next morning a very rude owner came and was telling it is clean, where the stain marks were visible. Asked for compensation and was told rudely that the booking was made from booking.com so she cannot do anything.

The location was in a busy industrial area. The reception area for check-in was not clearly identified. The room itself was clean and tidy.

only thing i didnt like was that the bed was soo uncomfortable and hard also wished the windows were a little bigger to bring in more natural light

Love the complex with the bar and restaurant, the Night and Day, the large and comfortable rooms.

The fresh towels felt a little cold and damp. The lift is a little scary, the door would not open but we were rescued quickly.

It was very private and very well maintained facilities. The rooms had mini printed instructions to let you know where the laundry room and kitchen were , the wifi password etc I loved also how the conscience stores are right outside , plus a bar and eatery downstairs. Housekeeping was very discreet and made sure we had extra supplies of everything . Uber eats was able to deliver food easily too .

An affordable spot to visit both the coast (penguins) and Lake Tekapo. No frills, but overall as expected. In a commercial area, but that gave easy access in and out. Wonderful bakery across the street.

A bit loud at times. Place was filled with construction workers on the job, so they were up and out very early.

A very large bar and family style restaurant

The motel is hard to locate as slightly off Naomi road. Motel is in 2 separate blocks. Our room was 2 nd floor via quirky elevator where the floor and the control mechanism moved up/ down but walls did not move, could scare some people. Room was pk. Unsure of wifi as had a quick look but did not use. Brown towels.

Bedroom and bed is comfortable 😌, Coffee and tea are awesome ！

The wifi has worse speed and access connection 😑

We were on a 4wd adventure around the South Island but decided last minute to have a night in a room so we could have a decent shower and a real bed for a night. It was peak insane season so we were pleased to find a place that had a room available at short notice. The room had everything we needed and was comfortable. Being able to use the laundry (and have laundry powder available) was awesome, thanks for that!

The location is ok not far from the main road.

During our stay there was a lorry parked opposite our room and when we open the windows the smell of the lorry carrying animals invade our room. We taught the lorry park there for a while but it parked overnight. So we don't have a choice and close the window and don't get to enjoy the fresh air during our stay.

Really convenient, great staff and plenty of dinning options.

The location was excellent, as we were attending an all day event hosted quite nearby. The motel being well set back from the main highway is a bonus - removed from the noise of heavy traffic. The windows being double glazed is excellent too, for cutting down external noise, and retaining the warmth in the room overnight. No condensation to deal with next morning!

It is just unfortunate that one has to run the hot tap for several minutes to draw the hot water through the pipes. Once it does arrive, all is well. It just seems to be a significant waste of valuable water. We did talk with the manager of the motel about this issue, and they have apparently had it investigated more than once. They even showed us where the large hot water cylinders are located.

Great location when passing through only. Eatery downstairs was handy. Never saw any staff as we checked-in late but were sent instructions and room was left ready. Nice and comfortable, clean. Thoughtfully there was earplugs provided for road noise.

Road noise outside was constant throughout the night, not recommended for poor sleepers.

Well situated for the purpose of our stay, sporting tournament at Aorangi Stadium. Room was very tidy and clean, unfortunately our room, number 3, had a bad leak from the shower which saturated the carpet to the entryway. Sadly the owners were away and motel was full so the available staff apparently couldn't do anything. Hopefully this gets fixed asap. Although near a busy road the traffic was not an issue day or night. Polite and friendly staff. Overall rating would have been higher if not for the shower maintenance issue.

Comfortable and clean

Such a dark room. The large light did not let much light out. The room next door was much brighter. Maybe needs looking at.

The room was what you’d expect for the price. It was nice and clean and appeared to be good.

The bed was too hard for me so I didn’t sleep much. I also had trouble with the shower in the morning stepping out to find water had flooded the bathroom wetting all my clothes left in a pile on the floor. Shower was great until I realised not a lot of the water had gone down the drain and was in fact seeping into the room.

Really like the location and close to a great friendly bar and restaurant with great food. Easy parking and comfortable sunny room.

An excellent place to stay. Staff was incredibly friendly and supportive. We had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. The room and the bathroom were very clean and tidy. Great location. Will definitely book this place again.

Good food, comfortable beds

It was quite a long way from central Timaru, much too far to walk. Fortunately there was a restaurant directly under the hotel and a convenience shop onsite as well so easy access to food. I really liked the bathroom, it was modern and clean,the beds were comfortable but the room didn't ventilate well so it was a bit stuffy. The hotel was bordering state highway 1 so there was heavy truck noise at night.The lift was a

The lift was a bit unusual. It was accessed via a what looked like a cupboard so was hard to find initially. It was unlike most lifts in that it was essentially not a separate compartment but a platform that rose up and down when the buttons were pushed. I'm sure it was quite safe but I was a little disconcerted. The parking area was also used by the pub onsite so didn't feel that secure.

It was okay.

The premises felt like they needed a little more cleaning and maintenance. Also ate at the restaurant, would definitely not recommend. Were handed the dirtiest dog eared menus which didn’t bode well for a start. Ordered a hamburger that was the soggiest I have ever seen, not quite inedible - perhaps when adding coleslaw make sure it isn’t 80% liquid. Staff at restaurant very nice and meal sizes were generous, if not particularly enjoyable. Not the best value for money.
