Auckland Phoenix Palm

I would not recommend staying here. The management is very poor and unprofessional, and the place is simply not worth the money they charge. The rooms were not clean on arrival – dusty, dirty carpets, and the bathroom clearly hadn’t been looked after properly. For the price, I expected at least a basic level of comfort and hygiene, but this motel fell far short. Overall, it feels neglected, badly managed, and definitely not value for money. There are plenty of better and cleaner options in Auckland – avoid this place.

Convenient and clean

Basic facilities but very clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable and the staff were friendly and efficient. Would happily recommend to a family on a budget.

Fantastic location, quiet and easy access to the motorway.

Spacious and quiet but hard pillows, stains on duvets, water still in the jug and toilet paper in the toilet.

This accomodation was in perfect proximity to the hospital we were visiting and also to main transport routes, eateries etc. A very convenient location. It was great that it had parking, and a stove and microwave to cook. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful, responding to any requests. There are fruit trees behind the property, a nice bonus. It seemed clean and tidy until i did my final gear check to leave and knelt down to check if i left anything like a sock under the bed. To my horror there were other peoples socks, popcorn etc. Under the beds had not been cleaned in a long time. That was the only sad note of an otherwise pleasant stay.

A few more kitchen utensils would be great

.

Very clean and comfortable and in a quiet location. It's my "go to" place when I visit Auckland.

Very clean and quiet. Great location. Comfortable bed. Would definitely stay there again.

I've stayed here before hence why I stayed a second time. Seems to me like the owner has changed and standard down a tad on previous stay. Like outside door lock was loose, just needed a screwdriver but not addressed during my stay.

Easy to find. Just off the motorway. Quiet, clean and kitchen was excellent for to cook our meals. Reception staff were very helpful . Thank you

Good convenient location, value for money

Clean and convenient motel. In lovely residential area. Short walk to supermarket. Would have appreciated a place to sit outside.

Gert spot, Quiet, Clean and location is good

Clean, tidy, quiet and comfortable unit. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good onsite parking. We were in Auckland for a concert and the location was handy to public transport when we needed it. It was exactly what we needed for our trip to Auckland.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Clean and tidy unit with cooking facilities and easy parking right outside your door. It’s on a side street off Greenlane which was very quiet but with easy access to Remuera and the motorway. 5 minute walk to Ascot hospital - perfect base if you’re needing to be close to loved ones in hospital. Price was also very reasonable

So handy to private hospital. Great water pressure in shower. Really lovely motel

Close enough to Greenlane hospital, and good price. Close to other amenities

Would stay again.

Bedspreads were disgustingly filthy and stained. Microwave door smeared with food. Corners of floor in bathroom dusty. Bed wasn’t great.

Clean and cook top available even. Everything you need. Close to Ascot private hospital. Perfect.

Ideal location for the purpose of our visit to Auckland Great kitchen facilities and and sleeping layout. Will certainly stay again.

My stay was day of unexpected hospital recuperation. Although it wasn't planned, I was well looked after. The management offered help in any way I needed. They were truly a blessing.

I needed a place to stay before & after an overnight stay in the Ascot hospital. This motel was perfect walking distance and close to restaraunts before my check-in (the next day) and also the following day (after the overnight surgery day)

There was no milk in the fridge for coffee.

Absolutely amazing! Thank you.

Perfect for our stay

For the price it’s what I’d expect some areas not cleaned as well as they could’ve been, bed was pretty hard but over all good value for money

Because of a disability we needed a unit/studio with accessible shower in the bathroom. The studio area was basic but clean and very comfortable. The kitchenette was more than adequate providing all that most people would need. The bathroom was in need of an update but it was clean and great towels supplied. The most pleasing aspect of this stay was being able to speak with the management about specific needs and their lovely attitude. This motel is reasonably priced and in brilliant location for access to Ascot hospital, close proximity to motorway.

We highly recommend the Phoenix Motel. It felt like hi r away from home 😊

We stayed for 18 nights Dec 2023 -Jan 2024 . The Studio is a bit smaller than our expectation, tv is small and high up on the wall with no Sky channels. The queen bed is a bit firm but ok, however the bed sheets felt 'stiff' or 'rough' after they have been changed to new ones, hope they can fix this for more comfortable sleep. Manager is friendly, would change the towels and do vacuum when there's a request. However, the air that came out of the vacuum cleaner was smelly when we were there! Otherwise, an OK stay for us.

Nice motel representing good value. Only thing i'd ask is that the bed has a softer feel to it on top

Clean, comfortable, affordable and friendly staff. Some things a bit tired e.g broken parts in fridge. Great spot and nice and quiet.

It is very close to a lot of good locations.

homey feel, fruit trees planted at the backyard.

Pleasant, friendly staff

Booked for 3 but only 2 towels & flannels Pillows extremly fat, hard n uncomfortable Otherwise greeat stay

Excellent

Awesome place. Clean tidy and comfortable.

Great position close to the motorway - but still very quiet. Easy walk to Remuera shops. Motel unit pretty standard but could not fault cleanliness and general comfort. Definitely recommend.

Decent place and room but had multiple roaches the moment I waked in the door. I bagged one in a clear garbage bag to show the manager. There were two others in the room as well. Manager refused to move me rooms and could not refund me. Instead showed up with a can of raid and sprayed the room. The room then smelled of the spray all night and I had to keep my stuff isolated and some things in the car to prevent infestation. Would not return. If the property didn’t have a bug problem everything else would have been fine.

Great location. On a quiet street and only a 2-3min safe walk to Ascot Hospital. I missed having a clock radio, bedside lamp, wine glass etc. Pretty basic but value for money. Lovely lady in the office.

Quite & Close to motorway, shops

Nice & Clean, Private Room Warm & Comfortable Place.

Suitable to our requirements and will definitely use the services again. Thank you

Tidy, clean, quiet, easy access, easy checkin and checkout. Perfect for our stay. Close to delicious Kebab Serai for a nutritious tasty takeaway meal. Would definitely stay again.

Generally comfortable and affordable.

Great little place - bed not so comfy - very hard.

Nice and clean, good position for our visit to Auckland Food Show at ASB show ground. Had just about everything we wanted (no oven), nice big fridge/freezer.

Location was excellent, very close to the train station. The room was good, warm, quiet, it all worked well. We parked in front of our room. I would certainly return and recommend.

9 out of 10 for the accommodation. Comfortable, clean, the service, everything was fine but for one VERY small issue. The lock on the door needs attention, when leaving the room for any reason unattended the lock on the front door is quite difficult to engage when in a hurry. If not for that, 10 out of 10.

Staff really helpful

Perfect location to Ascot hospital, easy 3min walk. Supermarket and petrol close by. Clean and comfortable.

We only stayed one night but the room was scruffy, the bedspread appeared to have never been washed. There was an overwhelming perfume smell which permeated all our luggage and clothing. TV was small and only had free to air channels. The entrance way was very slippery when wet, and given we were unloading in the rain I slipped twice. Compared to other motels in the area this one was overrated, smelt, was filthy and over priced.

Easy to find, good parking and modern room

Very convenient for Greenlane Medical Buildings without the high hotel prices. Room was very clean and warm. No hesitation to stay there again, should the need arise.

a little older but great staff and good value

Great location, unit had everything we needed. Was clean and comfortable.

The apartment was spacious and spotless. Kitchen was well equiped & with a supermarket a 2 minute drive away meant we could cook for ourselves rather than eat out. A big saving when travelling. Bed was comfortable - not too soft. Bathroom was large, clean & modern. Single ply toilet paper & loose toilet seat the only downers. There was no traffic noise even tho we were only 200-300 metres from the motorway. Phoenix Palm motel is a big plus for us.

the location, very close to the Ascot Hospital. parking right in front of your room door.

Very easy to check in and out, very tidy property

Great place to stay ! Clean tidy , beds a bit firm but other than that , excellent. 😊

Quiet, comfortable, and conveniently located. Good price for Auckland.

The place was nice to be at

very easy to get to and out of. toilet had a leak around base so hopefully gets fixed

Very very quiet, shower pressure very low, lots of ants on bench, couldnt get front door to lock, hook that holds up curtain up was broken, sky is great, room can be serviced on request towels etc are left in room for all of your stay

Considering the location, we found it very quite and peaceful. Nice management, has all that we needed. Good price. Shower ran hot and cold a bit and the mattress protectors and white hand towel needed a deep clean as they were stained. Minor issues, overall a good place to stay.

Surprised we didn't get a shampoo or conditioner - as we counted on that for our short stay. But did like the complementary hand soap and wash. It was warm and quiet - perfect for what we wanted.

Nice & quiet, easy walk to supermarkets and transport, great access to motorway

Clean, tidy, warm

Excellent value for money for 4 people with 2 rooms. Close to the city and included a car park. Will visit again.

We liked the price, size of the rooms, quiet and handy to everything that we were visiting. We will be back

Arrived early, but they were happy for us to come in, spashious room, great high pressure shower, nice and warm and cozy, walking distance to the hospital will definitely be wanting to book again when we come back in August.

Proximity to the Mercy Hospital was key for us and this fitted well.

Quite. Off the main road

Nice and central easy on and off motorway

The bed was stained on the side and very uncomfortable. The shower head was broken, blind was also broken. No milk provided in fridge for coffee or tea. Room not serviced or bed made during the stay.

Accommodating staff, really appreciated :)

Always value for money

Very clean, comfortable, convenient and well-equipped. Great value for money and highly recommend!

Very quiet. Great location. Big sized rooms with basic kitchen supplies. Our real issue was the air con needs servicing. It made a huge gurgling type sound periodically and even a long time after turning it off. So loud you could not sleep with it on. Have let the property know and I am sure they will rectify the issue. I have been to this property a number of times and will return thou. Good value for money…. Thou not this time with the AC sadly.

The overall feel of the room was pleasant, could have done with an extra clean. The shower had remnants of black mold around the bottom seals. Bed cover was stained but I took that off. Scuff marks on the wall and door could have easily been wiped off. No instruction has to where to leave the key, but these things, apart from the bed cover (yuck) are all cosmetic. Could do with more comfortable beds though. Nice and close to the venue that I was attending and a 10 minute walk to Greenlane shops.

Good clean motel with a nice kitchen and all kitchenware was good quality, but the bathroom towels was not good it’s very old shouldn’t be given to the guests

Located nice and close to Ascot Hospital. Easy to navigate from motorway. Nice & quiet location.

Comfy enough. Cleanliness could be better

Handy location, helpful staff, comfy beds, well equipped, quiet, sapacious. Bed spreads a bit tired and walls need a wipe and room could do with a good dust. Otherwise fine for our stop over in Auckland. Good value for money.

closer to city, location

Great location for our trip, very clean accommodating with everything we needed.

Big nice rooms

close to where we were going saturday night

Great place to stay, owners very lovely

Convenient location to the event we attended, friendly proprietor

Newly refurbished and clean and tidy. Great location and close to a bus route and train station.

Clean, quiet, good service. We would stay again. Nice and central. Close to motorway. Good shower. Small kitchenette which was great.

Very good value for money. Walking distance to the Remuera shops and supermarket. Had everything we needed. The owners were accommodating and allowed us to pay a bit extra for a 3pm checkout.

We had a late check in which was no issue. Clean and quiet with a yard area at the back of the unit's which was nice. The only negative was the beds werent overly comfortable.

Close to were I was going to, and easy to find. There was no road noise, and the bed was comfortable.

Clean and convenient location very helpful people.

Easy walking distance to Mercy Ascot hospital sky Tv or Netflix would have been good for night time entertainment
