Good location and free parking. I liked the bunk bed with the blind. It also had a nightlight and USB plug socket. And a little lock box for valuables which is always good to have. It was clean and felt safe.

I really loved the pod-style beds. It felt like having my own little cocoon, which gave me so much more privacy than a typical hostel dorm. It was cozy, comfortable and perfect for a good night’s sleep.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 Eine richtig tolle Unterkunft mit einer perfekten Lage. Der See, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und das Social Life sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Die Kapsel ist extra breit und sehr gut ausgestattet. Dazu eine gute Matratze und angenehmes Bettzeug – ich habe hier wirklich sehr gut geschlafen. Das gesamte Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet und bietet alles, was man braucht. Besonders gefallen hat mir die Atmosphäre: ein schöner Innenhof zum Sonnen, Hängematten und verschiedene Bereiche zum Entspannen und Chillen. Dadurch fühlt man sich sofort wohl. Und nicht zuletzt: alles war sehr sauber. Für mich ganz klar 10/10 – würde jederzeit wiederkommen! ❤️

Great value for money - you get what you pay for and we were happy with it. The staff were fantastic made us feel welcome and very accommodating with our cars and kayaks to keep them parked off the road and safe.

Its budget - dont expect loofahs and artisan soaps! But perfect for us.

What a lovely spot! Parking out front, adjacent to all the necessary services and provisions (eg supermarket, easy walk to the centre), staff are friendly and approachable and very helpful. Love the huge platform beds that have space around them and thoughtful places for your belongings, and they are equipped with two pillows and a duvet - most hostels only have a sheet/blanket and one flat pillow, so this was luxury! Bunk beds also have proper steps up them rather than ladders which is fabulous. Communal bathrooms were kept clean and orderly. Didn’t use the kitchen facilities. Premises felt secure.

Was perfect for a short stay, only wish to have stayed longer instead of another hostel which was really disappointing in comparison! FJs has set the bar high!

Had everything we needed. Very safe place for 2 solo mums to stay with all their kids! Kitchen well equipped, beds super comfy and an awesome chill vibe. Great central location, we walked everywhere in town without the need for our cars. One of the staff, didn't get his name but he's from Belgium and leaving next week, what a superstar, he was awesome to deal with and lovely to our kids!

Great kitchen facilities, enough stove tops and pots and pans for multiple users. Good storage lockers available in the dining area. Stayed in the single room with shared ensuite, the room was a bit on the smaller side but was clean and the shared ensuite had 2 separate toilets and bathrooms and was new and clean. Highly recommend if you are looking for a budget conscious accommodation in Taupo.

Individual room was slightly small but bed was comfortable and room was well maintained.

Walls a bit thin so you do have to hope your neighbours are quiet at an appropriate time. Luckily, ours were.

Centrally located, spacious pods, and roller blinds were amazing. Kitchen is well-equipped. Probably the best hostel I stayed in Taupō.

Kitchen bench top not enough space for food prepping and dining area is a bit tight especially during peak meal hours.

I stayed here for two nights, and this is my third time staying here. I needed to stay for two nights because I was going to Tongariro to hike in the snow. This place is very comfortable. The rooms are private, and the beds are really big. There’s plenty of privacy, and each bed has its own charging point and light, including a light inside the bunk. I really like that. They also provide heating, which is especially nice in winter. The kitchen is very clean, tidy, and spacious. Overall, this is definitely one of the best choices for backpackers staying in Taupo.

Superbe emplacement proche du centre ville et des bords du lac 🌅👌 Chambre super agréable et confortable en dortoir. Salle de bain commune dans la chambre et également sur palier propre. Cuisine très bien équipée permettant de cuisiner à son aise et de se poser soit à l'extérieur ou à l'intérieur selon la météo ☀️ Le staff est super accueillant et répond à toutes vos questions... Y compris les activités autour du lac de Taupo (réservations sur place 👌). Pour se garer, aucun problème : nombreuses places devant l'auberge gratuites 🚙✌️

Each cabin is cosy, well designed and spacious. Appreciated the free activities for the common room. Recep was friendly and helpful. Affordable stay and near paknsave. Love the ensuite bathroom and hairdryers provided.

I loved the pods they were so cute and it felt like your own little privacy bubble. I loved how the staff ran themed nights. We were there for games night and had so much fun!

I liked the fact my room stayed warm for me as I didn't expect to deal with frosts like there were, coming and going was easy and the staff and most the other visitors were very kind.

Saturday night there was an extremely noisy bunch of guests who didn't go silent until 1 am in the morning which was disappointing but that isnt due to anyone elses fault other than they were obviously selfish.

Checked-in late, but I was given clear instructions on how to get the room key and find the room. The shared bathroom was clean and conveniently right next door.

The room was a bit cramped for two people, and it was not cleaned properly as I found a sock under the bed. We could also hear noise from the neighbouring room.

Easy (late) check in details, comfortable beds, private screens in bunks, clean bathroom (in the female bunkroom), big kitchen, easy to use facilities.

Pods are very spacious, comfortable and private. Kitchen has everything you need and property is located a 5 minute walk from supermarket and around 10 minutes from town centre.

The staff were friendly, and the kitchen was clean and well-equipped with sufficient cookware and utensils.

I'd suggest adding an extractor fan in the bathroom to help reduce the dampness and improve ventilation.

We stayed in the twin room, it had a separate block of toilets and showers just behind the room, shared with three other private rooms. The staff were friendly and the facilities were clean. The heater worked well to heat the small room.

The room was relatively small with little space other than the beds, if you’re traveling with a large suitcase, but for us it was okay. The extractor fans will automatically turn on from the toilet/bathrooms so can be noisy if others are using them at night. Luckily we were the only guests in the private rooms so were not bothered by noise.

Parking is off street and its only got spaces by the motel side before 5pm , if u ever come late there is no parking by the backpack side, i was there before 5pm annd found a car cark then outta dinner nothing when i came back so i had to park by the warehouse side off street parking as well
