Had a space for my dogs to roam around

The check in was locked and there was no one to give us our keys when we arrived so we had to call and wait at the entrance until someone arrived

Location was great and so close to shops and beach, we walked everywhere. There is a sign saying cleaners do not speak English so we did not try.

Toilet door hard to close and the tv was not a smart tv, so we had to watch lots of ads

It was cozy and quiet and warm perfect for our stay

We arrived and lady not even 5 mins from arrival requested we pay for the dogs I said yes I’ll be over , we just unloaded the car in the rain and wanted to change into dry clothes and have a bathroom break , put the jug on and the lady waited outside the unit door, I know other people have obviously ruined it for us genuion ones, we were shocked there was no way you could escape if you wanted to, she was pleasant , what we didn’t like was the fact we asked for milk and offered to pay extra what we got was uht milk a teaspoon full from the little containers , to walk to the shop in the rain we just put up with it otherwise very nice units the toilet gave out on us through the night where it stopped flushing not a major but my friend was very embarrassed she couldn’t flush

This place fitted our needs perfectly. It had everything we needed and was very clean. Good communication and easy to check in. Location was perfect.

The wifi was terrible, pretty much could not do anything, wheel of death. Not acceptable in these times. The toilet leaked. We booked with a dog and were not advised until after the first night there is a $55 dog fee, this was after the cleaner knocked on the door at 8.30am and barged her way in, not speaking any English to see if we had a dog, all that needed to be done was ask. We booked for 3 nights, there is no dish wash liquid to do your dishes daily. The units are in desperate need of updating and with the grounds.

Location good. Disappointed with the TV we rushed home from dinner to watch rugby on TV the TV was crap all static and unable to watch game clearly. So gave up. Very disappointed

could have had aircon but even in the middle of winter the oil heater kept the place toasty warm so not really an issue

Great location. Close to beach, cafes and restaurants. Convenient parking outside unit. Though dated, the unit had a warm, comfortable feel to it, due to the extensive timber panelling.

The curtains were tired looking and let in too much light. New curtains, with blockout backing, would be a significant improvement. The tap washers could all do with being replaced, for better tap operation. Better still, the basins and sinks could be replaced, with easy to use flick-mix faucets, instead of the old, separate hot and cold water taps. The rest is fine.

The rooms were very clean and directly across from beach. Shops and eateries very handy.

If you want to be close to shops it's a good position.

Parking right outside the door. Clean, comfortable, and there was a hand grip on the wall near the shower exit as it was a bit of a step down.

Cleanliness didnt seem the best, quite dusty and smelt like it never gets aired out and the cleaners were telling us to move despite it not being time to check out

The unit was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable. The motel is conveniently located near where I needed to be in Orewa.

I have stayed there in the past and it was cheap and cheerful. Now it looks sadly run down. No staff onsite, just an email with my room number and key box code. If I'd known that in advance I would've gone elsewhere. Whilst the unit was very clean and tidy, the whole place had a bit of a neglected and dated look about it. Toilet cistern over-due for replacement, chain on door rusty, peeling paint on windows sills...it all just looked quite sad.The lighting was poor, making the place quite dark. I missed the personal touch.

Located right in town and across road from the beach. It was perfect for what e we needed

Good quiet location. Close to shops with foreshore over the road. Self check-in was easy.

Bed was quite firm, maybe suitable for some people.

We stayed in a family unit which is very spacious & has full kitchen facilities. The location is fantastic- easy walk to everywhere in the town.

Die Ausstattung war zweckmäßig, alles Erforderliche war vorhanden. In der Nähe sind fußläufig ein gutsortierter Supermarkt und viele kleine Geschäfte zu erreichen. Um zum schönen Strand zu gelangen, überquert man nur die Straße.

Einmal waren bei unserer Rückkehr am Abend die Fenster geöffnet und die Türe nicht abgeschlossen obwohl wir beim Verlassen der Unterkunft alles geschlossen hatten. Zum Glück war nichts entwendet worden. Es wäre gut, wenn Insektengitter an den Fenstern angebracht wären.

On site staff friendly but absolutely no English. I didn't realise that all the check in information was in the email ( a la Airbnb) didn't expect that from a NZ motel.

Location excellent. Unit very comfortable & enjoyed our stay would stay again.

Breakfast options were at a minimum and cereals were dry and old.

Rats in the walls or under the floor that woke us up in the early hours of the morning.. made the stay uncomfortable and wanting to more on asap

Presentation and signage to the place could do with a tickle up. Rooms where a bit dark. Couch is past it and needs replaced.. springs gone. Did not enjoy my cold showers x 2

TV faulty and failed for two days ./ Asked staff to change the bed ..they refused. Did not make the bed one day The owner intervened ten they made the bed

Good location, close to all the eateries and beach

No air con in the room, seemed to be an unmanned site, so if something went wrong you’d have to ring someone. Not a big issue but being a single female traveller I like to know the hosts are there in case of an emergency

bed was comfortable, ensuite adequate. Kitchen had all the basic necessities. Great for price.

The sofa was old and although covered it had 2 hollows where folk sit. Had to sit on a cushion on it to make it comfortable. The surrounding garden was tired and had weeds.

2 minute walk to beach and restaurants

Nice location. on arrivale a bit strange no visible contact with any one. Strange it is cheaper to book through an outside agency than direct contact. The reverse is usually true.

We loved the location. Perfect. The place was beyond clean. Fabulous for a tired motel. Well done lovely cleaners. You were wonderful. The hot water temperature was rather high. The kitchen hot tap difficult to turn off. Over all, we loved it very much, and will stay there again when up that way.
