Great place , easy walk to cafes and shops

The location is perfect; across the road from the beach and kids’ playground, a few minutes walk to the city centre. The beds were comfortable. All the staff very friendly. Edgewater Motor Lodge was comfortable and perfectly adequate for our purpose. However, the room was very old and tired. Needs a good refresh.

(My comments relate only to Room 1. It is a wheelchair access room.) The door to the main bedroom was 2 folding doors that didn’t close properly and one was difficult to move. It would have been extremely difficult for someone in a wheelchair to manage. The door fell off on our final morning. The bathroom has no place for your toiletries, there is mould spots on the ceiling, and a broken hairdryer still attached to the wall with electric current running through it - much too close to water to be safe. The carparks are very very tight - especially if someone with a Ute is parked there.

The view outside was beautiful on a sunny day best site to wake up too

How close it was to the sea , hearing the waves crashing in the background as we slept was lovely. As we had dinner down the road it wasn't to far for us to get back to our accommodation. Had a spa 3 times while there as well love love loved that ❤️

The view

I like the veiw of the beach and the room

Location was perfect. Unit was very comfortable with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for 2 couples. We appreciated the big fridge, as other motels only have a tiny one with a semi-no-door freezer! The manager was very prompt when we asked for light bulbs to be replaced.

Kitchen facilities could be better - no baking dishes for the oven, no serving spoon, only a bread knife. Cleaning under the beds - I checked only as we were leaving, or I would have pointed it out to the cleaners.

Location was great and bed was good and thats all.

Communication, was told that there were electric blankets and there wasn't. got given an extra blanket when we found the staff. Place is very tired , long overdue for an upgrade. The rooms are very noisey, even had to put up with domestic from a disgruntled guest. We were booked two stay two nights but only stayed one night . I do not recommend this place and will not return

The manager on duty was polite.

When we walked into the room there was a horrific damp smell throughout it and fresh dirty foot prints all over the carpet. We thought we could get past that given it was for one night. We then went to run a shower for our toddler and there was no hot water anywhere in the room, we advised the manager who said the owner would come and look however they lived 30mins away and we just didn’t have the time, they offered us a refund and we accepted went somewhere else. We never received the refund even after going back the next day to confirm our details. We phoned multiple times, sent emails and never heard back. Do not stay here. Don’t let the location of by the beach foul you.

Room was getting run down, gaps in the front door so was breezy, had to have the heat pump on all night to keep warm, on the ground floor was lots of noise from people walking by, would suggest they install thicker curtains to dapen out some noise and keep the room warmer Parking is very tight for larger vehicle (Double Cab Ranger)

We would appreciate Netflix so we could choose something to watch.

Location was awesome close to shops and downtown is within walking distance. beach aquarium and park for our kids are just across the road, very clean room and comfy beds can definitely see us staying again if we ever need to visit napier. Staff were very professional, kind and had lovely customer service.

There wasn't much I didn't like about this stay. However if you have young children it is very close to the main road which can be busy at times but otherwise noise wasn't an issue. It had absolutely everything we needed to be comfortable with a newborn and 2 teen girls.

It was comfortable with a great location within 15 minutes walking distance to the city centre.

It was kept very clean, however the housekeepers need to vacuum down the sides of the Sofa as there are food crumbs there. There was a stain on the seat of the sofa also. There are some handles on the internal bi-fold doors of the Main bedroom that need reattaching. However it was a nice room that suited us well.

No water pressure, outside light on balcony continual flickering so had to turn off.

Room located by main street but no problem really with noise although the odd car raced past occasionally. There were a few teenagers congregating around our ground floor courtyard window but were well behaved. Across road from ocean so could hear the waves crashing at night which was nice.

Basin in bathroom needs to be bigger with more space for toiletries.

Two separate rooms on opposite sides of complex. A group booking should be accommodated if possible on booking or notification given especially with younger children staying. Also should replenish milk and drinks per afternoon not just on arrival for multi night stays

Wifi / internet was pathetic Parking was very cramped for a large car And we could hear every movement in the room upstairs and they where constantly jumping around up there Cook top was useless

Clean, tidy, easy and fast check in. Lovely lady on front desk. Our room was perfect for us. Myself, my husband, 2 children and our baby. We had a great time and would recommend anyone needing accomodation in Napier. Brilliant stay.

We arrived and it was freezing, took a long time to warm up. Would have been nice if it was turned on since we were getting in later afo.. The floor was filthy, in need of a good clean.. The room was tired and curtains were half off the rails... The guest information booklet had crumbs all over it... for what we paid we expected better

Lounge suites were past there best. Springs sticking through the cushions, carpets in the room need a very good carpet clean as were almost black in places we wouldn't allow our children to play on them.

The room could fit my family of 8

The TV went in and out of reception. One mattress had a lean to the right. Pretty uncomfortable.

First night was good had a carpark and was quite.

Didnt see the request of car park before booking There was no fire alarm in the room they turn off the aircon while they did room service then second night had no car parks and upstairs people was heavy footsteps that was hard to rest with so wasnt really worth $380 for two nights.

We were amazed with The location of the motel it is close to the beach we got to watch the sunset and the sunrise over the ocean from our apartment windows and our balcony. Great area for families playground across the road from motel. And a short walk into city centre. Room was clean & well equipped.

Apartment needs a little tender love and care. Carpet was stained through out. Shower head had weak pressure, shower drain took awhile to drain. Bathroom door very noisey to open and close,both couches were uncomfortable to watch tv on, microwave was confusing to use. Walls were so thin could hear the walls rattling from the neighbours next door. Parking is limited and a tight squeeze. Air conditioning remote & holder could do with a wipe.

Location is great - Across the road from playground which was great for us with two active boys! Bedding set up was perfect Staff (front desk) was great and very accomodating Two bathrooms

Bed was hard got sore back an it was freezing until I put heat pump on on full an there was no rubbish for the kicthen only in toilet.

Kids had their own space/room & bathroom upstairs. They loved that. The location is perfect.

The spa bath wasn't working. We were looking forward to that. Not many pots in the room. We were a family of 6 & preferred to cook.

Location was great for our event. Safe area to park.

No plug for the bath tub. We booked this room specifically. Housekeeping did help us on day 2 by getting one from another room.

Hard to find.

Location was great, easy to find and close to everything. Room was a good size and overall met our needs.

The car parking was abit odd and once a few medium to large size cars arrived it was often hard to navigate.

Right along the beach

Pretty disappointing stay overall. The room didn’t feel properly cleaned when we arrived, and the couch was visibly dirty which made the place feel uncomfortable straight away. We were also placed in a downstairs room and the noise was constant from the room above us making it hard to relax or sleep properly. Parking spaces were extremely tight and difficult to move around in. Definitely not the standard we expected for the price.

Aircon, great view, comfy beds. We were warm during our short stay. Bathroom was great! I’d say you pay for what you get though.

Like others, we found the property unclean which was a bit unsettling with a small baby. There was hair in the bed - not ours as too short and wrong colour. But could’ve been cleaners as beds were nicely made. Floors by front door need a scrub and the flooring in bathroom is warped and lifting. Cleaners clearly don’t move the beds to clean or vacuum, we found a biscuit, hairclip and crumbs under ours. Car park is a tight squeeze for large/wide vehicles like minivans, utes, large SUVs, the pool was green (but not opened anyway), and single glazed windows so you hear traffic/road noise. Also didn’t see information online about the balcony being shared but we weren’t using it anyway.
