The rooms were very clean well laid out. Hallways were clean up to date and modern. In my personal opinion the furniture/ lounge seating was poor. The had covers over them. First impressions of the lobby usually is an indication of the rest of the facilitie. Well layout of breakfast area. Breakfast Food was a great addition to our stay great selection. Overall we had a wonderful stay. Better stay in the hotel compared to others in the area. We will definitely recommend and come stay again

I don't like the carpeted floors that hotels have, the bed dipped to one side a bit so it could use an upgrade.

The pool was constantly packed. Never had a chance to even get in the hot tub while spending two weeks there. Breakfast also starts too late. For anyone there for work 630 breakfast should be more like 530

Great location if you're passing through on a road trip. Easy to access from Hwy 2. Room was pleasant and clean. Staff was very friendly.

The view was not great looking into a field where they were housing dirty beds and they were blown all over, also pool was closed the night we wanted to go in it for maintenance. But great service and breakfast was good. Staff was happy

Not much for parking once a couple bigger units came in. Fairly crowded when going for breakfast. The first night there was a lot of hair in the pool and around the pool. Not enough towels there either. The pool needs to be cleaned more often.

The morning breakfast staff - amazing and so pleasant.

Was not happy they charge $25.00 per pet. Whether it’s one or three the same amount of cleaning needs to be done. An added expense no one needs these days.

Clean and spacious room with a small kitchen added a lot of comfort during the stay. The pool was clean, and my daughter had a lot of fun there.

They did not help me to allocate my group in the same floor. I tried in advance by message since May, and I tried again when I checked in but no success. I never requested an accessibility room by I ended up with two accessibility rooms, one at the second floor and another one at the third floor, both of them with adjoining rooms. I simply requested to be at least in the same floor or to be adjoining rooms but the staff wasn’t able to accommodate this.

I liked the pool and the location.

The bed is extremely itchy.

It was one of the more affordable hotels in Red Deer yet was beautiful and clean. It's clearly a new building - breakfast buffet was excellent, beds were comfortable, bathroom was really nice.

From the minute I booked I started receiving emails from the hotel - multiple confirmations, on-line check-in, on-line check-out, confirmation of check-out then a survey. I found this unnecessary and irritating.

Everything was perfect. Beds were comfortable and rooms warm on a cold day. Hotel was quiet and had friendly staff. Never stayed for breakfast and didn’t have time to use the pool but hopefully next time

Everything worked as it should.

Unable to get an official tax receipt when I asked. Not even when booking.com asked - only if you book directly with them. I booked a “superior” room but it looked like any standard room- not spacious or superior - just a standard room to be expected at any recently built hotel. The front desk person kept rattling off information while I was trying to look up my plate number until I stopped him. It was late and no one else was in the lobby waiting to be served.

Cannot use any devices to the tv to watch streaming services. You can hook up to a HDMI but TV won't let you change the source to said HDMI.

Check in and check out was a breeze. Room was cozy and comfortable. Hot tub and pool were open, the gym was wonderful to work out in but missing a carabiner for the cable machine.

Breakfast area had less tables then required for the amount of people eating. I ate back in my room. Hot tub was hot but the jets were lacking. I woke up for a morning hot tub and it was cold, did tell the staff and I'm sure it was rectified but couldn't have my morning hot tub.

It’s clean the staff is very nice. The breakfast is decent. We stayed for 5 nights. They made the beds everyday and gave clean towels.

The waterside was not working when we got here and didn’t work our entire stay. I was quite upset about this as I booked here for the waterside as we can with children for dance. ( apparently it was broken days before we arrived) we did not get any notification about this other wise I would have moved my stay to another hotel. They did give me 20% off but still I should have been notified. Also the shower sucks. It’s not tub and like glass door half way of the shower no curtain or door for other half so it’s hard to stay warm. Also the room we had I believe just standard two queens. It’s quite small. Did not really have room to keep our suitcase out or anything. If sitting at the desk ( doing hair makeup for dance ) husband needs to go over the bed to get around.

We were very disappointed in this hotel. Booking last minute (2 days in advance) for 2 rooms, we booked direct with the hotel in Red Deer. Rooms were nothing special but we knew this when booking, we went with this location because we had 3 children in our group and were willing to spend the extra money because of the pool and waterslide. Shortly after arrival we found out the water slide was out of service and had been that way for a week. The jets in the hot tub were also not working. We had to go and request towels for the pool as there were none available. They brought 6 towels to the pool area even though there were over 12 people in the pool area at the time. I spoke with the duty manager and told him I had wished I was told about the waterslide in advance as I would have booked at a less expensive hotel. He assured me everyone was being told in advance. I personally booked so knew this was not true, while watching the children in the pool I met several other people who also booked because of the pool and waterslide, none had been informed the waterslide was inoperable. I feel this hotel made misleading promises and overcharged for services provided. The duty manager could have really cared less that I felt cheated. Every business experiences issues, how they are handled sets them apart. We are Wyndham Rewards members and usually stay at their locations when possible, but our next trip to Red Deer we will book anywhere but Microtel.

We liked the price. Very affordable. Comfortable.

What I didn’t like was, we booked especially for the water slide and hot tub. After booking the hotel we got an email from the hotel on the 24th of April saying they were excited about us staying with them and just so we know that the pool, hot tub, waterslide and gym were open. Only to find out that on the 23rd the waterslide had broken and there was a sign on the hot tub saying sorry for the inconvenience but we cleaned the hot tub so it’s not working at full temp. ( great it was clean but sad it wasn’t as hot)

Breakfast was gross. The room was not clean and there was a massive ball of hockey tape used obviously kids hockey team stick tape in the room that was missed and room smelled so bad from the pool the chlorine in the room was overwhelming.

The staff was extremely helpful and wonderful, especially Vella. She was like a grandma to our family and absolutely awesome during our breakfasts. She provided us with high chairs for my young son and made sure we had clean tables to eat at, along with delicious egg and cheese omelets, hot sausage, and crispy bacon!

Booked because they had a working hot tub. They had a nice continental breakfast. And staff were very accommodating to the best the facility had.

The hot tub jets were not working properly and my son cut himself when we did get an opportunity to use the hot tub, staff reported it, but it is a hazard as there are sharp edges all around and inside the hot tub. Tape on the walls in our room from previous guests.

Breakfast was simple and provided. Staff was great. Got basketball games on in the lounge whenever we asked.
