Palazzo Nobile di San Donato - Historic Experience

The pictures on the site doesn’t do the justice at all!! The rooms were incredibly amazing, that too in that location!! The host was very welcoming and helped us with dinner reservations. Highly recommend!!

The building is from the 15th century and it retains a lot of period features. It feels like stepping back in time (in a nice way). The room was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Despite being on the ground floor next to a busy square, by 10pm it was dark and peaceful and we slept well. The breakfast area was in a room at the back and it felt very cosy. The lady who prepared the breakfast and the gentlemen on reception were both very personable and courteous. I’d stay here again.

Worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. The room was extremely dated, and because the hotel is right next to the main road, it was incredibly noisy. We could barely sleep until around 3 a.m. Unfortunately, the service made the experience even worse. We found the staff very rude, and the breakfast was extremely limited, with mostly basic supermarket-style food. In the end, we couldn’t continue our stay and moved to Albergo II Marzocco instead. The difference was unbelievable — Albergo II Marzocco was cleaner, more comfortable, much friendlier and better in every way. We only wish we had booked there from the beginning. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Worst experience ever

Fantastic location right in the heart of Montepulciano’s old town, next to the Piazza. The staff were lovely and very welcoming — Bruno checked us in and gave us some great recommendations. The lady looking after breakfast was also absolutely great, she couldn’t do enough to improve our experience. After we asked to move rooms, we were upgraded to a truly lovely room with a great view, which was quiet and much more comfortable.

Our first room was directly on the square and therefore quite noisy. More concerning were the terracotta-tiled steps up to the toilet and two extremely low door frames. My husband hit his head very hard on one of the door frames and suffered what we believe was a significant concussion, and also caught his toe on the step, causing a cut that bled heavily. We appreciate that accidents happen, but we felt the layout of the room presented some genuine safety issues.

It’s just like the photos, a real unique stay in a palazzo. The room and the living room were both large with so many decorations and details. The staff were very lovely. The breakfast was very good: both help yourself yoghurt, cakes, biscuits and bread and freshly prepared cooked breakfast to order.

Todo genial: ubicación, limpieza, trato y confort. No podemos ponerle ni un solo pero. Es uno de esos sitios especiales que no se encuentran fácilmente, donde se nota el toque personal y el cuidado por cada detalle. Sin duda, un alojamiento para recomendar y repetir

El desayuno es genial y personalizado únicamente el comer en la misma mesa con otros huéspedes es un poco raro para mi, pero nada importante.

The most beautiful property, wonderful hospitality, perfect location to explore wineries on foot as well as delicious restaurants and small shops.

Rooms were nice. The staff were nice and helpful. It is at the center, easy to reach everywhere in the village. Breakfast was nice.

We loved the location in the historic center of Montepulciano. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite which sadly, does not have the charm of the other rooms as shown in the marketing photos of the property. That was disappointing. We were lucky and found parking near the property every time we needed it. However, it was obvious that finding nearby parking could potentially be a problem.

Wonderful staff, Valentina especially was like family. I would return without any hesitation. The building itself and the rooms are wonderful and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was catered to whatever we needed and Natasha was very helpful in arranging whatever we asked. Cannot recommend more!

Palazzo Nobile di San Donato exceeded my expectations by all standards. First of all the location is situated in the middle of the old town which made it easy to access most places we wanted to see & gave it a very special feel. Second, the rooms themselves looked way better than the pictures on booking, it feels luxurious and the pieces decorating the rooms are beautiful & it shows that there was a great attention to detail. The breakfast was very delicious and had a nice variety which we really enjoyed. Most importantly the staff in the hotel are very kind and helpful. Valentina and Evana were both very welcoming and very resourceful which made our stay much more memorable. Specially that it was our anniversary. Great hotel and would definitely come to stay again and recommend it to others.

位置太好了，就在大教堂广场。预先沟通顺畅，我们可以开车去酒店卸下行李。我们的房间是普通标准间，但是依然很舒服，从窗户可以看到广场。员工们都很热情友好。早餐的品质、餐具与服务也很好。

其一：不是酒店的错。我们卸下行李后开车去停车场，但是附近的停车场与远处的P8停车场都满了，我们不得不找到更远的一个免费停车地，那里爆土飞扬的脏，回去上山一路太吃力。 其二：酒店推荐了品酒与晚餐，没有告知名字与链接，我们到酒店后才告诉我们餐厅在大约一公里的另一个城门口（继远距离停车后再一次步行上下坡真是有些吃力）它们是同一家餐厅，品酒与晚餐的侍酒师是同一个人。预先没有任何人跟我们说过价格与与付款方式。餐后侍酒师让我们去收款台结账，我们根据餐厅开出的账单付完款就离开了。第二天在酒店结账只收了我们城市税，一切正常进行。我们离开了，一天都在托斯卡纳的山谷里驾驶。到了傍晚入住下一家酒店才发现这个酒店从上午11:30就我们追缴70欧元的品酒费，立即马上支付。70欧元并不贵，我们并不想逃避，关键是预先没人告诉我们多少钱在哪里交。他们通过Booking发给我付款链接，多次被我的软件拦截，他们的急迫催促给了我们旅途很大压力，严重影响了假期的心情，最后我们通过银行转账支付了这70欧元。总算彼此都踏实了。但是到现在我都不知道错误的环节出在哪里了。我希望不要给当事的女士不好的影响，她确实很友好热情。 在此我善意地提醒酒店与预定客人们注意，品酒与餐厅预定一定预先问清楚说明清楚，以免引起误会与麻烦。

De tudo! O hotel é lindo, instalações maravilhosas, super confortáveis, tudo extremamente caprichado. Café da manhã PERFEITO!! Vista de tirar o fôlego, assisti a um pôr do sol que nunca esquecerei da janela do meu quarto e o amanhecer… igualmente lindo! O atendimento foi excepcional também!

Si quieres alejarte en una habitación de un palacio , pues ahí , me pareció increíble la habitación, con sala de estar , precioso todo . El desayuno estaba todo muy bueno.

Que no había ascensor y las maletas las tenías que cargar hasta la habitación, aunque para subirlas las llevaron ellos.

The sofa bed in the living room was super uncomfortable - it was a thin mattress and you could feel all the coils. We ended up sharing the bedroom in the bedroom so neither of us would get stuck with it. It was really hard to regulate the water temperature in the shower

We really liked the building and the room: large, old fashioned, well decorated, with comfortable pieces of furniture. Breakfast was excellent!

It was not clear to us that the room was on the ground floor with a window on the street, so we had quite a bit of noise in the evening, unfortunately

It was a really special place, we felt like a king and queen. Location was right on the piazza and not too difficult to get parking close by outside the ZTL. The breakfast which was served in our massive private lounge, was exceptional - top quality produce, the best coffee, patisserie from the local baker, couldn't have been better.

La suite era splendida e assolutamente confortevole e silenziosa; l'ingresso al palazzo direttamente sulla piazza grande: magnifica in ogni stagione

Ein echtes historisches Erlebnis! Man übernachtet in einem mittelalterlichen Zimmer, was den Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderem macht. Es war wirklich ein Abenteuer und uns hat alles sehr gut gefallen. Der Weg zum Badezimmer ist etwas eng, aber selbst mit 2 Metern Körpergröße hatte ich keinerlei Probleme. Wer etwas Außergewöhnliches sucht, ist hier genau richtig.

Das einzige was ein wenig umständlich war sind die Parkmöglichkeiten. Man muss in einer blauen Zone Parken 20 Stunden 15€. Die kann unter umständen zwischen 3- 15 min entfernt sein.

È stato tutto veramente bello. La suite era bellissima e accogliente. Ci siamo sentiti a casa. Consiglio vivamente a tutti di fare un'esperienza così: ritagliarsi due giorni di vacanza dormendo in questo palazzo e lasciando fuori la vita frenetica.

La scarsa pulizia, (purtroppo abbiamo trovato qualche insetto) sia nella camera da letto che nel bagno. Inoltre, come già fatto presente alla struttura, sarebbe meglio se specificassero che nella stanza (entrando dal portone subito a destra) NON C’È il BIDET , cosa molto strana essendo in Italia, dunque dovrebbe essere esplicitato qui su booking. Abbiamo chiesto un cambio stanza e ci hanno detto che sarebbe stato possibile a €80 in più.
