Breakfast was excellent, room was spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Really enjoyed the one night stay
Staff lovely, very friendly place. Everything done with quality in mind.
Excellent
Breakfast service was friendly and efficient. The food was nicely presented and was tasty. We had a guest on the first morning and there was no problem in accommodating her. The room was comfortable and had all the amenities one could desire!
The mirror lights in the bathroom weren't very powerful, which made it difficult for my husband to shave. Other than that no issues.
Beautiful location, clean room, easy to access. Walk in Shower and good size bath. Very generous room size with great views. 5* Breakfast.
Nothing, it was perfect.

Stayed overnight for a friend’s wedding. Beautiful hotel in spectacular setting among the golf courses. Staff were helpful and polite. We were very lucky to be upgraded to a suite on arrival. Wow, what a beautiful room with a four poster bed and separate area with sofas etc. Very large and well equipped bathroom. Lovely private outdoor area with table and chairs overlooking the greens. Our friends were delighted with their wedding package. One of the owners came in person to the reception to check they were happy with everything. All who attended were very impressed by the staff, hotel and venue.
Clean wellcoming staff

Rooms were easy to access, very clean and Aircon was good

Lovely hotel really excellent staff and nice food were really accommodating to my mother who’s in her 80s
Nothing was really nice
All staff were very welcoming and attentive. Although the room was a good size it was a little dated and had too much furniture. However was clean and comfortable. Had a few meals in Roosters which is on site, and the breakfast had plenty of choice. The hotel is set on a golf complex so ideal for those who play.
Little patio area was a nice touch, but needed some attention.
Really nice venue on the outskirts of Derby. Very well looked after - new carpets etc. Room very nicely appointed and breakfast choices were great
Air-con units outside were very noisy in the night
Air con a boon in such hot weather. Good food - I had room service and there was extensive menu. Pretty grounds. All staff v helpful. Extensive parking as a golf course too.
Simon was an absolute star from start to finish, he arranged an afternoon tea for 24 people for our wedding reception. Perfect service and food, so attentive couldn’t do enough to make sure our afternoon was perfect.
Staff were very helpful and polite and made us feel welcome. Golf course delightful and looked very well maintained. Great golf bar. Lovely restaurant. Daily friendly and buzzy.
Beds need replacing. Pillows not the best. Real coffee bags would be good. And some body lotion and dressing gown. Or a note that they weren't supplied.
We visited on the 26th June, the weather was lovely, we sat in the garden. Our order was taken at the table, the food arrived promptly, and was delicious. The service is always impeccable. Such a lovely place to spend an afternoon.
Gorgeous location patio with wildflowers and views over the golf course Staff are unbelievably lovely and brilliant at what they do top tier hospitality
I personally think it would be stunning if it was modernised inside the rooms it’s a bit 80’s would look lovely as a coastal simple vibe
We stayed over to celebrate a friend's birthday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everyone who greeted us and served us were professional but friendly. The party had a bbq and we also enjoyed a very delicious breakfast... spot on thank you.
The check in was quick and efficient and booked us for dinner in the evening. The rooms were very large and comfortable with both a bath and shower and very good quiet air conditioning. There was tea and coffee and complimentary water in the room. Breakfast had a very good choice and everything was fresh. The cooked breakfast was excellent

I had a really enjoyable experience at Morley Hayes Restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and welcoming, making it a perfect setting for a comfortable meal out. A special mention has to go to Stephanie and Jasmin, who were both incredibly helpful throughout our visit. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly without being intrusive, which really added to the overall experience. The atmosphere was also a real highlight—elegant yet relaxed, with a lovely ambience that made the whole meal feel special. Overall, it was a very pleasant visit, and the excellent service combined with the great setting made it one I would happily recommend and return to.
Staff and service all excellent

I held my 60 th birthday party here last Saturday, 20 June. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly, accommodating and helpful both during the booking process the lead to the event and throughout the evening. Nothing was too much trouble. I can’t fault the event, the food was amazing, the staff are incredible and it made for the most perfect evening. A few of us stayed in the hotel overnight and the service and rooms were gorgeous and so was breakfast! I love coming here and will recommend in a heartbeat. Thank you for making my birthday so memorable.
Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and lovely cooked breakfast options.
Nothing we didn’t like.
Loved the bedroom. Spacious, comfy bed, power shower, Molton Brown products. Kettle + teas, coffee, biscuits. Lovely staff at breakfast. Good pastries and fresh fruit.
Veggie fry up was ok. The sausages were like tasteless cardboard. And the coffee could be better.
Had my wedding here. Everything was perfect. Staff were so helpful and amazing, no matter how many times I contacted them. Service was amazing and the hotel was outstanding. Thank you for all the help.
staff very pleasant
We’ve coming to Morley Hayes for over 12 years and have never been disappointed. The staff in the hotel, club house and Pro shop are helpful and seem happy to be working there. The bedrooms are all of a high standard and spacious, and the breakfast room is in the same location giving a high standard of service. The Dovecote and Rooster restaurants have a varied menu, but we prefer the Dovecote for it’s fine dining menu. The Pro shop staff were very attentive and the course was in great condition, scenic and challenging. I will be booking very shortly for next year.
Good selection at breakfast and friendly helpful staff
We attended Roosters Bar on 5th June for a meal as it was our wedding anniversary the day before. The staff were all very friendly and pleasant and couldn't do enough for us, and we didn't have to wait too long for our meals which we enjoyed. Albeit an expensive exerience, well worth it for a treat. Thank you to Steph, the lady with the lovely butterfly earrings, and the gentleman who bought my dessert.
Breakfast was very good
The pillows in the room could’ve been better for the quality and the price of the room
We recently visited Morley Hayes Dovecote for champagne breakfast to celebrate a family milestone. The welcome from the host was extremely friendly and helped set the scene for a lovely Champagne Breakfast. Full credit to the Chef and the team for the presentation and quality of the food which was outstanding. The menu choices are great and two of our party opted for the belly pork and the remaining two went for the salmon as our starters and for the main breakfast we all opted for the Rump Steak. All dishes were delicious. Special mention to Miles who made our visit memorable and enjoyable. A shout out to all the team who went out of their way to ensure that we had a great experience. We can highly recommend The Dovecote for your special celebrations.
Hi. Just a short email to thank you all following our golf society visit last Friday 15th May. We all enjoyed a wonderful day at Morley Hayes. From the moment the 32 of us arrived at 8.30am to point of leaving at 10.30pm we were looked after without fault. JT and Philip in the golf shop helped arrange the 7 buggies, nearest pin etc markers on the course and answered all questions. George and Chloe served us tea, coffee & bacon rolls & then they served lunch perfectly, looking after the few with dietary requirements. After playing the Tower course in the morning & the Manor Course after lunch we enjoyed a few beers on the balcony overlooking your beautiful course. Josh and Chris on the bars looked after us all very well and our very nice dinner was served perfectly - with extra gravy- and help from Mr Andrew Allsop - perfect. My apologies if I've missed any names out. Please pass on our sincere thanks to everyone especially the chefs and kitchen staff that helped make my Captain's day a really memorable day out. Shame my own golf was not so good but never mind. Kind regards. Clive Wilkinson ( Captain 2025/26)
We had our wedding at Morley Haynes! What a fantastic day it was! Jane and the team could not have been more helpful if they tried! From the day before and going in to detail how we wanted things to look to the hotel staff making sure we arrived on time! Everything ran like clockwork I would highly recommend a wedding at Morley hayes!
For the second year running we arranged a Sunday Driver Golf Break at Morley Hayes. This included a round of golf on the Manor Course on Sunday afternoon, dinner in The Dovecote Restaurant, one nights stay in the onsite hotel with breakfast included and then a further round of golf on the Monday morning. From the moment the 14 of us arrived the event was great. The staff in Spikes Bar were friendly & welcoming, Calum and TJ in the golf shop couldn’t have been more helpful even arranging the record breaking Bank Holiday Weekend weather!!! Following our round of golf we checked into the hotel where the reception staff were again very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are large, luxurious and thankfully have air conditioning, which, given the temperature on Sunday night was a Godsend. Then it was time for our dinner in the fabulous Dovecote Restaurant. We were welcomed by Simon and Amelie who also made us all feel very welcome and looked after us all evening. They were very attentive, but not overly and ensured that we had a great time. The food was incredible and everyone enjoyed each of the three courses. We had a mixture of starters and the majority of us had opted for the Dexter Sirloin steak for our main course and it was superb, made even tastier when we realised that it is locally sourced!! The following morning we met for breakfast and rather than the usual hotel breakfast buffet with luke warm options, we ordered from the varied options on the breakfast menu which were then prepared and delivered hot and fresh. We then played another round of golf on the manor course, before drinks and prize giving back in Spikes Bar. It was then unanimously decided to book again for 2027 and we will be back to enjoy everything that this special venue has to offer. Special thanks again to Calum, TJ & Phil in the golf shop and Simon and Amelie in the Dovecote for making us all feel so very welcome and for all that you did to help make the event a real success. See you all next year!!
My daughter and I had a fabulous evening yesterday on a Bat Walk and Owl handling event . The evening began with a really delicious meal followed by a most interesting talk about owls and their habitats . We were allowed to see and have the rescue owls which Beverley had brought sit on our gloved hand which was so special . They were absolutely beautiful . Following this experience we went into the grounds for a walk with electronic devices to hear the sound of bats communicating with each other . Beverly was so knowledgeable and informative it made the evening very special and I would recommend this experience to anyone . A thoroughly deserved five stars , well done Morley Hayes and Beverley.
We held a Charity pro-am Golf Day at Morley Hayes on 7th May to raise money for a local charity. We had 56 in attendance for a Texas scramble golf day with a Shotgun start. Max and his team helped us to prepare thoroughly for the day, which included breakfast and a BBQ afterwards. The catering team could not have been more helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing. A great day was had by all and we raised loads of money for charity. Just a fabulous venue and hosting team.
Nice location and room on ground level which was clean and tidy with excellent comfortable bed.
Lacked a fridge and the bathroom sink hot water tap, water was only a trickle.
Excellent Birthday meal for my wife. Lovely food and the staff were friendly and attentive. Even had a Birthday card from the owner which was a nice touch. The Roosters Bar has just been renovated to a very good standard. All in all a very nice experience.
We chose Morley Hayes for our wedding venue and it exceeded our expectations! We arrived the day before, ate in Roosters Bar (excellent food), stayed in a Superior room with a balcony overlooking the golf course. The room was spacious, very well appointed with a huge comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent too! Our wedding day was perfect with special thanks to Carol for helping us to plan the day, Jane (our master of ceremonies) and Andrew who was on hand over the weekend and ensured it ran very smoothly. All of the staff in the hotel, restaurant and the events team are so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and we appreciate all they did. We had the Penthouse Suite for our wedding night, again with a balcony overlooking the golf course. It was an amazing room, just a shame we didn't spend that much time in it! We would highly recommend Morley Hayes for food, celebrations and events, such a beautiful setting with excellent, attentive staff. Thank you!!
Morley Hayes is my favourite hotel to stay at when visiting Derby / Derbyshire.
There's nothing to dislike!
Welcoming staff, clean and comfortable, good location. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly.
The view from our room wasn’t great.
Lovely couple of days golfing with 6 friends. Hotel room and restaurant were excellent and staff were very helpful. Celebrating a special birthday and a beautiful bouquet was waiting for me in the room on arrival… thankyou!
My wife and I have been dining at Morley Hayes for quite a number of years we have seen it grow and grow to what it is today. We called in yesterday for food and once again was not disappointed the food was excellent as ever the staff and service is second to none it has been refurbished since our last visit the owners have high standards and it shows and appreciated. If I was to be negative about anything is that the menu hardly ever changes and is very predictable although the food is very good a little tweek of the menu on a more regular basis would be welcome
We stayed last night and had such a lovely experience from start to finish. Jane on reception was especially welcoming and friendly, and honestly all the staff were just fantastic — nothing felt like too much trouble. Breakfast was great, with plenty of choice and everything really well done. But the absolute highlight for me was the bed — it was enormous and unbelievably comfortable. I had one of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages. The SIX pillows were also incredible — soft but still supportive — I’m actually on a mission now to find out where I can buy some! Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.
This is our second stay here and hopefully not our last, we absolutely love the little things, the professional and friendly staff to greet you and see you off with a smile, the sweets and apples on the receptions desk the writing paper and postcards and even the bible in the room and we're not religious. Please don't stop doing what you're doing with the good 'old fashioned' values and standards, a nice change from the faceless and soulless hotels :)
There was nothing to dislike
Very spacious, clean and pleasant.
Nothing - all great!
I couldn't decide which dessert to have. Mango and passion fruit cheese cake or Hot cross bun bread and butter pudding. They were delicious.Ordered one of each cut them in half to share with my friend
Great complex
Everything was good
Beautiful surroundings & excellent golf course . Staff were friendly
Shame we couldn't get a table in restaurant. Prior warning that we needed to book would have been helpful. We were really looking for to this as part of our stay.

Our first visit here to this lovely hotel and golf complex. We had a great night here at the Morley Hayes. Great room looking right onto the course & a very tasty meal. Sadly we couldn’t get into the main restaurant as planned due to a conference taking up the tables until 8pm which is too late for us to eat. Quite disappointed that our shower had no shower gel or shampoo dispenser as it was completely missing with just a metal bracket on the wall!!! Not ideal to share 2 small bottles of shampoo in such a lovely place. The bath which my wife used was unable to be emptied due to a broken unit on taps so had to leave it full of water. Such a shame the attention to detail let us down on our visit here. Let’s hope we get a chance to return in the future with no issues. Definitely will book restaurant in advance next time. Good breakfast & staff very polite
Family meal on Mother's Day in The Granary Room at Morley Hayes. Fantastic experience from start to finish. Staff vey attentive. Jane was our lovely host, great sense of humour and made us all relaxed. Complimentary Prosecco for the ladies and Hawkstone Lagers for the gents. Meal was 5 star excellence, service superb.. The Rose bushes presented to the Mums, grandmother's and great-grandmothers were a lovely gesture. Thank you so much for a great afternoon.
We took our family to the Prosecco Sunday lunch in the Granary Loft on Mother’s Day. The menu choice was excellent, the meal was delicious, thoroughly enjoyed by all, and the service as always was outstanding. The whole family enjoyed a wonderful memorable afternoon and are looking forward to the next opportunity for a family meal at Morley Hayes.
Lovely Mother’s Day Prosecco Breakfast, great good and service. Highly recommended

Four of us stayed for 2 nights to visit the Derwent Valley Mills and area. The boys also played golf. We had very comfortable rooms. The food was delicious for both breakfast and dinner with different menus each night. All staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful at the reception and in the restaurants. In particular the restaurant staff, who were mostly quite young, were well trained and very efficient. Special thanks to Miles who was very attentive to us old fogeys and took great care in his work. Looking forward to visiting Morley Hayes again.
We’ve just returned from a wonderful three-night stay at The Morley Hayes Hotel as a family of four, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, every single member of staff was polite, welcoming and genuinely helpful. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. There’s a real warmth to the service here, and it made such a difference to us, especially travelling with children. Housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay. Our room was spotless every day, beautifully maintained and incredibly comfortable. The hotel itself feels cosy and well cared for — it had everything we needed as a family and felt like a real home away from home. A special mention must go to the breakfast team. On one of the mornings, our youngest son was unwell and unable to come down for breakfast. The staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating, helping us arrange breakfast in the room without hesitation. Their understanding and flexibility meant a lot to us at a stressful moment, and it perfectly reflects the level of care shown throughout our stay. The location was also ideal. Visiting the UK from Dubai, we wanted a comfortable base while catching up with friends and family, and Morley Hayes was perfect. Peaceful, welcoming, and brilliantly positioned — it made the whole trip smooth and enjoyable. A genuine five-star experience from start to finish. We’ll absolutely be back next time we’re home.
Excellent food, staff were everything you could wish for. Couldn't find fault if I tried. Comfortable super king sized bed in a beautiful well equipped room. Enjoyed stay, left relaxed and refreshed.
Attended the recent Robbie Williams tribute night. We were a large group of friends and family celebrating a big birthday and we all had a very enjoyable evening. The Tribute act created a great party atmosphere and encouraged the audience to join in and get onto the dance floor. Food and service as usual for Morley Hayes was excellent and delicious. All in all an excellent night was had by all.
It’s always beautiful and staff are so polite
An electric heater in the bedroom for the heating which wasn’t good enough, there’s large windows and I was frozen throu
Everything was expected and more. As a regular customer we can never fault the location or service.

We stayed at Morley Hayes Hotel for our wedding and New Year Eve. We stayed in an amazing suite which was ideal for what we needed as it was our wedding and family were able to come and sit and chat in the living area. The bed was so comfortable and enormous. In the morning we were served an amazing breakfast having room service for a light lunch in our room later. The staff were really friendly and nothing was to much. New years Eve fireworks from the hotel were the best we had seen.
Our room was lovely and we had a balcony overlooking the golf course. Our breakfast was delicious and cooked fresh to order. We ate dinner at Roosters Bar and the Dovecote both were very good and we felt they were good value.recommend booking though as they get busy.
The room was large clean and very comfortable Room was re stocked and cleaned during our stay Dinner was in The Dovecote restaurant which was excellent Special menu created for my dietary requirements There was everything to choose from for breakfast and was plentiful
There was nothing not to like AMAZING PLACE

We had a lovely family meal. The food was very tasty and really good portions. Great menu and good prices! Would definitely recommend.
Attended the Candlelight Dinner and Disco in the Millroom on Saturday 20th December 2025. We were a party of 10 but unfortunately someone had to pull out due to illness. We were located on a private round table just off the main room behind the bar area. For our group this was great as we could still interact with other guests but we were able talk to each other very easily. The food and service were excellent throughout and the staff even boxed all the food up for our missing guest. Couldn't fault the evening and would highly recommend the experience.
Lovely property and top quality amenities

We attended for a New Years Eve buffet and disco with fireworks. The Christmas lights on approach were breathtaking which set the mood for the night. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who couldn't have been better for the whole night. The buffet was never-ending and of exceptional quality. It really was a brilliant night. The fireworks were also awesome! Well done to the whole team. We will be booking again for next year. Our party of four went away on a high.
Beautiful Hotel. Wonderful big room with great views. Comfortable bed. Quiet and peaceful. Pillows were a bit on the hard side. Very tasty breakfast with a good choice. I had a server called Louise. Thank you for making my Christmas Eve morning nice and bright. Check out could have been a bit more friendly. I would stay here again. As I have family near by. They eat at the restaurants on a regular basis. I look forward to staying again soon.
We had our wedding reception at Morley Hayes, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The venue itself is stunning, beautifully maintained, and created the ideal setting for our special day. Everything was set up flawlessly, and the atmosphere was elegant, warm, and welcoming. A very special mention must go to Andrew and Jane, who were exceptional throughout the entire process. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care made everything run so smoothly and completely stress-free. Nothing was too much trouble, and they went above and beyond to ensure our day was exactly how we envisioned it. Our guests couldn't stop praising the food, service, and overall experience. We are so grateful to the whole team at Morley Hayes for helping us create memories we will treasure forever. We would highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for an unforgettable wedding reception.
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Really comfortble. Peaceful and quiet. Great breakfast and choices.
The pillows were a bit hard.
We had our Christmas wedding on the 27th December, it was absolutely beautiful, in every way, Jane our toast master made us feel in safe hands and was so kind, caring and made our day run like clockwork. The atmosphere was buzzing, the food was lovely and great value for money and the penthouse was stunning, with a lovely bottle of champagne when we arrived. Would love to do it over and over again and would choose Morley Hayes every time,
Just left after an amazing Christmas Eve afternoon pj party and afternoon tea absolutely amazing Everything perfect great do lovely Santa excellent service from staff can't wait to come back again whole family loved it
Dinner with Santa!! This is our 3rd time visiting for a festive event. First we did breakfast with Santa but the last 2 times it's been dinner with Santa. Both experiences were excellent and this year was no different. In fact it seems to get better. The very special touches of santa knowing what your kids like and mentioning their teachers names etc. add to the magic beautifully. It isn't cheap but I think it is excellent value for money. On arrival the tables are adorned with all sorts of treats for the kids which keep them occupied whilst waiting for their food. The food was really very good, nothing too much trouble for the staff and plenty of everything for everyone. Hot and all arrived together. Not to mention the little extras like warm mince pies. They give it a special touch. We were full to the brim! My only very small constructive criticism would be that table service for drinks would be an improvement. I found that, one of the party was away from the group for quite a long time, waiting at the bar, and given it's a family event, so unlikely a high volume of drink being consumed, I think it would be a lovely finishing touch if there were table service for the drinks if it could be accommodated.
Once again a fabulous experience at Morley Hayes. A visit here at Christmas has become a family tradition. This year we came to the Princess and Superhero Party. Full of dancing, games and prizes as well as a very generous afternoon tea for all - party boxes for children and traditional high tea for the grown ups. Super quality and amazing service. Looking forward to next year 🎄🎄🎄
What a fantastic afternoon we had at the Super Hero And Princess Party! The whole family came along with the grandchildren, from start to finish it was full of fun and festive cheer. The afternoon tea was delicious, the disco and DJ had everyone dancing and the staff were absolutely amazing - friendly, helpful and full of Christmas spirit. Santa was spot on and made the experience extra special with a lovely visit and a fabulous gift for every child. The adults enjoyed it just as much as the children (if not more!), and we left feeling happy, festive and full of Christmas magic. Highly recommend - we can’t wait to come back next year!
I couldn’t recommend this higher! Thank you Morley hayes for a fantastic experience At first glance, I’ll be honest, I thought this was expensive for what it was. £40 per adult and £23 per child for breakfast. However. They take info from you in advance about the kid and food choices. Breakfast is a 3 course affair, with plenty for the kids to enjoy. The tables are set up with loads of Christmas bits - headbands, glasses, crackers, and decorations. Santa is there when you come in for photos on his sleigh, and then spends time with you at your table chatting away to the kids, as well as chatting away to them about things that he knows about their favourite things. My daughter couldn’t believe he “knew” about her teacher and her favourite toy We were absolutely stuffed after the food, and there was opportunity to take the pastries away with us. The kids then got to go into santas grotto, and all received a present. I’ll be honest, I’ve never been as impressed as I was today. None of the kids there received the same gift and all of them were fantastic. My daughter got some squishmallows Bluetooth wireless headphones which she is delighted with! And my son got some science mechanics toy which he was very excited about. My neice got a lovely baby doll (she is 3) I honestly couldn’t recommend this highly enough. The value of torrents were all around £20-25 each and the food is, as always, fantastic. I’m really glad we decided to go, and, most likely, we will be back next year.
