Great size room newly updated. Friendly staff. Good location close to downtown
Nicely updated. Separate bedroom for privacy. King beds were comfortable.
Busy part of town. Have to drive to attractions and natural beauty in area.
Comfortable room with good facilities. Crazy golf over the road was good fun. Friendly staff.

Very friendly. Clean.
Great location and excellent options for those travelling with a dog.
It was a nice surprise to drive up to a seemly newly renovated modern clean motel that was in the perfect location to the wedding we were attending on the beach a10min walk away
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet.
The beds were comfortable. The location was perfect.
Sehr schöne Lage und saubere Zimmer. Die Betten sind sehr bequem.
I liked how close a walk to the beach and mini golf.
Very nice recently renovated rooms. Very friendly staff. The free mini golf was a nice bonus. Across the street from the beach. Assigned parking by room number. One level, so no stairs. Quiet and clean.
Booking.com
Friendly front desk person, great location, renovated clean room, near the beach, great value, we were pleasantly surprised how nice it is.
Good location. Good room size. Beds were comfy and kitchenettes had all supplies you needed to cook.
(We stayed for 7 nights) Only cleaned rooms every three days even if we left the please clean room sign out. Didn’t sweep floors (frustrating when you have a kitchenette but no broom and visit the beach every day) Nothing was wiped down in the bathroom/shower. They changed sheets and towels and only changed sheets once in seven nights after being asked twice. Then they put a ripped duvet on the bed with the stuffing falling out everywhere. Definitely wouldn’t recommend for a stay longer than a couple nights. They seem understaffed on the cleaning end.
Location was great. The room was spacious and so clean. Grounds were superb. Lovely place to stay!! Will stay again and highly recommend.

Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and had everything you needed. The added surprise bonus was free putt putt golf across the road. We had such fun playing this. The room was great value for money. I thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

Mirror in the main room, not just the washroom. A recycle bin and/or a larger waste basket
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the outside amenities (gazebo, water feature) are beautiful. The staff is very friendly as well.
As I said in a survey the last time we were there last month, we do not like the Roku for the TV, as it is very difficult for those of us who are not technologically inclined to navigate (the actual picture on the TV is excellent), and there appears to be no no local programming (i.e. Global News Vancouver, CHEK News Victoria), or at least we didn't know how to access it. The beds are very comfortable, but very high and difficult to get into for short people. Maybe a small footstool (even a cheap folding one) could be made available.
All great except only coffee pods provided we tea and 1 decaf coffee.
Its clean and the staffs are very friendly.
Everything was exellent. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Rooms were really modern. They have a nice outside sitting area by the parking lot.
I didn’t like that our room was not ready until 5pm and the staff kept asking me for my name over and over (it‘s Olivia, not that hard). After wanting to check in at 4:05pm they told us to come back in another 45min. So we came back at around 5 wanting to check in with our littles and the reception had to help the cleaner get the room done for us while we were waiting. Finally the room was done and we headed to the room and then the keys didn’t work, had to go back to the reception again. Nobody was there in the morning for check out. I rang the bell a few times and waited 15min with no answer so we left. Check-in is at 4pm. Please make sure rooms are done by then or latest 4:30pm. It‘s a hassle to wait around with little kids. They offered us free mini golf as a "Sorry" but after i found out that mini gold is included in the room anyways.
Lots of room
Overpriced compared to other options in the area. No balcony or deck space. AC were very noisy; need updating. View out the BR window was on to a patio of construction materials and storage. I would not recommend your motel or stay here in the future. There are other options in the area for the same money, or less, closer to the beach, or with decks. Nice remodel that still needs work and is overpriced for what you get.
Friendly and helpful tide. Perfect location. Recently updated. Complete kitchen.
Our suite did not have a sofa bed as advertised when we booked, but the staff provided an extra mattress.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Very well kept
Room was clean, spacious, nicely furnished and comfortable. Staff gave good service and were friendly. The location is perfect and it was quiet for sleeping, which was much appreciated.
We found that the TV was very difficult to use. We are seniors and not into technology, so ROKU and all these other technologies are very difficult for us - we had to ask for help just to turn it on and off. We did figure out basics after that, but really couldn't watch anything that we wanted to because we didn't know how to get to it. We would recommend going back to one of the normal providers like Shaw or Telus who have formats we can understand. The quality of the picture was excellent, however. We would also like to have seen a soap dish in the bathroom, as the raised sink didn't provide a space to put the soap, and also a lamp on both sides of the bed instead of just one.
This motel renovation was spot on. They thought of everything and added classy modern final touches. The workers are like family...friendly and made such a positive impression on myself and my grandson.
Loved it all!
Friendly staff, clean and nice rooms and the kids loved the mini golf
Great location, right next to a walkway down to the beach.
The location of the room is right next-door to the cleaning station where the hotel staff store their supplies for cleaning the rooms. It was noisy at times and there was a lot of foot traffic back-and-forth right across the front of our window and door Although it was a bonus to have access to the mini golf across the street, it was a very lackluster experience.
Friendly staff, comfortable rooms
Quiet location
The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and helpful.
Easy booking. Easy check in. Location was great. New and clean. Non dairy milk products were a bonus.
The beds need toppers otherwise great.
Big room, clean, modern, nice bathroom with great shower, modern appliances
Nothing
The renovations are beautiful! The beds are comfortable, the location is amazing and the staff is so friendly and accommodating.
The only one tiny thing that was an issue was that the bathrooms are quite tight. So someone with mobility issues may have difficulty in them.
The room was suitable for our 2 night stay. I liked that there was an outdoor area in front of the hotel where you could sit and eat/relax. My family particularly enjoyed having access to unlimited mini golf across the street. The staff was also very friendly.
We had an amazing stay at Tides Out! We had originally booked a family suite but due to the renovations it wasn't ready by our check in date. They instead gave us 2 rooms, one with a kitchen at no additional cost. The beds were very comfortable and the renovations are beautiful! The staff was very helpful and so friendly. The only slight concern I would mention is that if you have mobility issues the bathroom may be hard to navigate as they are very small. But the shower is large and has a lovely rain shower as well as a hand wand. We would absolutely stay here again!
It was quiet and room was well equipped.
Room smelt.
Great stay, super responsive staff, free mini golf was included and an excellent location
I had nonissjes during my stay
Good little outdoor space, the staff were lovely, bed was comphy, close to beach, and a free round of putt-putt!
Cleanliness was a large issue: the table wasn’t wiped off, the bathroom mirror wasn’t washed, there was an odd stain on the end-table/chair thing, and after I stripped the bed, I realized the duvet was covered in stains (that looked washable). I don’t mean to bash them, because it wasn’t HORRIBLE, but it certainly wasn’t ‘good’. The gentleman in the office was nice enough to give us some supplies to wipe things down, but I would have rather not had to have done it for close to $200.
And sweet was very nicely renovated, all the fittings and fixtures were new and clean. The location is excellent, very close to the beach and town centre.
Newly renovated, very nice motel. Definitely worth the price of the stay. Good value! Staff very friendly and accommodating. Definitely will stay again.
Room was advertised with a pull out couch and the couch did not pull out.
Room was clean modern and lots of space..shower was top shelf. Sitting area out front was a great place for morning coffee and afternoon picnic.
No tea towels to dry dishes...
The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great.
The room had not been completely cleaned. Dirty dishes and missing items. We asked for a room with a kitchenette, but it was understocked. Only 1 fork, 4 knives and 2 spoons. There were no bowls or cooking utensils. Essential items like a toaster or a tea kettle would have been nice. There is no night manager, so guests are allowed to be loud, disruptive and disrespectful of others until late into the night.
Clean and comfortable facilities.
Tv in room did not have internet connectivity to watch netflix, but everything else was great.
Booking via booking.com was easy and simple. I appreciated the email confirmations, both from booking.com and the motel itself.
The description was for a "Family Suite" (a main room plus an additional room), with a total of three beds. Imagine my surprise to arrive to only one bed, with no additional room. I immediately spoke to the front desk, where a very nice but very powerless person said he would ask his manager and let me know next steps. After sitting very still in my room (I didn't want to mess it up if I was going to be transferred elsewhere), I went back to the office an hour later. He had no update from his manager, but he said I would not get transferred because the motel was completely booked. He noted that none of the rooms are suites anyway (??), so it's not that my reservation was mixed up or double-sold, but that the option never existed. He said his manager would approve financial compensation instead, but he didn't know how much money yet. Upon my checkout the next morning, I asked the person at the front desk about the discount or credit. This person was also very nice and also very powerless. He said there were no notes in my account, but he did confirm that yesterday's person had asked the manager, but there was still no response. He explained that the credit would be stored on my account direct with the motel (not with booking.com), and that I could call or email the motel directly in a day or two to find out what the compensation was. I emailed the motel directly a few days later and received no response. I then emailed through booking.com (where I had previously received almost instant replies), and again no response. I doubt anybody is maliciously ignoring me, but I have zero leverage in this situation now, so this is a lost cause for me. The price I paid for a Family Suite with three beds would have been an outstanding price, and actually would have been reasonable for a room with one bed. But the bait-and-switch (and dodging accountability) is such a problematic business practice that I will not give a higher rating.
Clean helpful staff nicely and newly decorated and renovated very clean indoors and outdoors.
Lovely and fresh renovation.
no hair dryer. Bar of soap didn't lather and had an objectionable scent. Very plain decor. Only decaf coffee, no cream. Needs a bump up in style - no personality !
Very nice renovations gave it a modern feel. Also, spacious and comfortable. And very friendly and accomodating staff.
Need to fix up the names of all the TVs to include the room they are in. They all have the same generic name and we kept getting popup messages that other devices were wanting to cast their displays. This would continue even after turning off TV before going to sleep. We had to call in staff who showed us how to turn this off.
We were pleasantly surprised. Usually the photos of the rooms aren’t exactly what you get.
Actually there wasn’t anything that we didn’t like
Modern clean rooms, great location to mid Parksville
Nice renovated and spotlessly clean. Best value in Parksville for sure!
Newly renovated at every corner! The front lawn area for sitting and eating outside was fantastic. The rooms are brand new and beautifully renovated. There is family suites with extra bedrooms and full kitchens. It was quite, clean and the front desk/manager was incredibly kind and helpful. Absolutely a great place to stay!!
I like that the staff was welcoming and accommodating. I like that they welcome pets. I like the rain showerhead. I like that families staying at the hotel are offered free mini golf across the road.
I didn't like that there was no dining options at the hotel. We were told that we could go across the street to the mini golf place for breakfast. It would have been nice to have a cafe as part of the hotel, at least for breakfast. I also really didn't like the toilet paper. It wasn't rolls like normal. It was more like folded napkins. Normal rolls would be better.
Very friendly and supportive staff, complimentary mini golf, walking distance (10min) to Parksville Beach for a nice sunset, very modern, convenient location
Newly renovated, with nice friendly staff. The shower and the bed were great.
There was no hairdryer in the suite, and the coffee maker wouldn't work. Although we didn't use the kitchen, I could see it was not stocked with much in the way of dishes and utensils
Staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent service

Free mini golf, close to everything we needed to be close to
The Neighbour kept stealing my parking spot
Loved the ambiance and freshly renovated feels of the place. The free unlimited mini golf across the street was an amazing surprise!
I found a couple ants in our room, not sure if that is a common thing.
Loved the recent, modern upgrades! Nice large tv, spacious room and lovely bathroom!
A mini breakfast…muffins & fruit would have been nice
Great location, very clean, comfy beds, wonderful staff!
There's no way to get natural light once blinds are down or fresh air. The lights are either full on overhead lights or one small lamp with a cool white almost fluorescent bulb. So lighting isn't warm and cozy. Some wall sconces or a dimmer switch on the overhead ceiling lights might help.
Great place..newly renovated...extremely friendly staff at desk and helpful
Excellent location – really nice showers and very comfortable beds and there’s also a very big TV in the room – kitchen stuff with coffee and tea. The rooms have been totally refurbished and are quite modern – the rooms are much larger than most. Really nice that you can park right outside of your unit only a few steps to your room - parking is free. Popcorn machine in the office, which was a nice touch – outside grounds were also nice and tidy.
Nothing
Very clean room. Everything in room is new. Mattress is comfortable. Receptionist was very helpful.
Located walking distance to everything, price was great and exceeded our expectations. Nice upgrades. Nice staff. We would for sure book again here.
No Ice in the ice machine, not a big deal.
This was very short notice that we needed a place. With the cost of all the additional fees Airbnb takes, it would have been too expensive to book something through a platform. This was affordable for us but I expected a totally different motel on the budget we were on. I was totally surprised to see a renovated modern motel. Beautiful king beds that are super soft. Walk in showers with modern features. There’s an outdoor lounge area. It’s pet friendly and also great for kids as you get free mini golf with your stay-it’s right across the street from the paradise mini golf & fun park. Staff were very friendly and accommodating as well—totally exceeded my expectations. I don’t normally write reviews but this fab find in Parksville deserves the attn.
Nothing!
We got access to the mini golf.
I DO NOT recommend staying here. The day we were supposed to check in I got a call saying my room was no longer available and that our reservation had been transfered to the Coast Hotel. When we arrived at the Coast hotel I discovered that my room was now a single room 2 queen bed. We had originally had a 2 room suit with one King bed and one queen bed. When asked what we could do the lady at the desk sent us over to the Tides Out motel. When we got there the gentleman offered us 2 rooms, one with a kitechette and a king bed and one with 2 queen beds and no kitchenette. We accepted this offer. He said the King room was just being cleaned but would be available in a few hours. When we got back to the motel in the evening (around 7:30 pm) I opened the door to the King room and it was a mess still. The bed was not made, the floor was still dirty, the kitchen was a mess. My husband went to talk to the front desk attendant again and it was the same gentleman as before. He told my husband that there was no housekeeping on site so the room couldn't be cleaned. He also told my husband that the kitchenette room was just for us to use as a kitchen not to sleeo in. I went to talk to the gentleman and said that us not what we had discussed. He apologized and said he didn't know what else he could do. I said I just need clean beds for the night as we had been up since 4am traveling, and that we can just deal with everything else the next day. They gave us a second 2 queen room. The next day we just told them ti not worry about the room with the kitchenette as we check out the next day anyway. The back and forth and moving our booking around the day we were supposed to check in was very frustrating. The front desk people were polite but were passing us off to other people.to just get rid of us it felt like.
Great renovations. Very clean. Bathroom was extremely nice.
It was clean and new
Clean, quiet and quite modern (charging stations in furniture, lighting options in bathroom). Lovely renovation! The bed and heavy duvet were incredibly comfortable!
Location: was good to very good being quite central to the beach, right on a major thoroughfare and within easy striking distance to all areas of Parksville, Qualicum Beach and Coombs. The only real downside was the busy street out front. Atmosphere: This is an old motel that’s been refurbished. It was recently a gathering place for transients and marginalized people and that history shows through. There are clearly some long term renters who never close their blinds and consistently have their doors propped open, which creates some awkward moments. Rooms: The owners have done a decent job of “cleaning the place up” overall - new bathrooms, tidy kitchenettes, new panelling and beds. BUT the rooms were not super clean (the area around the shower was particularly grim), there weren’t appropriate towels for the number of guests (we had 1 facecloth to share, until we finally bought our own), no linens in the kitchenette. The bathroom has near zero places to store any toiletries so be prepared for your desk area to be filled with these. There were a few mismatched dishes in the cupboards, but if you’re anticipating being able to actually cook or even bring in a take out here, you’ll be disappointed. You’ll also be disappointed if you want real coffee in the morning as they only have a keurig with 4 pods - this takes up most of the worktop in the kitchen area and isn’t refilled. There is NO place to hang anything. Not a jacket, not a handbag, not a leash. Be prepared for everything in your room to be draped everywhere. If you’re a neat nick thus will make you CRAZY! There’s no matt inside the door and there are hard floors throughout; be prepared to track in evergreen needles, sand and stones which will track through your room and make their way into your bed. Good times. There’s also no brush to sweep the floor which is also problematic. The new beds are spacious and the mattresses are comfy but the pillows are old as heck and compressed to the point even with 2 stacked together, it’s like having no pillow at all. Be prepared to have a stiff neck for the entire stay. I’d say bring your own, but given the cleanliness of the rooms, you’ll have to burn it after, so maybe not. You’ll also find that many of the electrical outlets don’t work, items like hair dryers, and clothes irons are non existent. Lastly the TV wasn’t set up. Someone came and set it up, the following day it needed set up again. AND there was no instructions how to do so. Bring your phone or iPad if you need entertainment. If you ask to have your room serviced be prepared to wait and wait. They may come at 11 or they may come at 4, or they may not come at all. Bottom line: is this a cheaper place to stay? Yes. Is it worth the savings to have a lousy sleep, a dirty room and no conveniences? No. A little thought would go a really long way - doesn’t need to be fancy but does need to be clean and comfortable and have at least a few things to make the stay enjoyable. We were limited for places that took dogs, or we would have stayed elsewhere.
Location
Room was confused on Booking.com and owners were having trouble with conversion. I would suggest Booking. Com contact property to assist
Excellent location! Free mini golf and close to the beach!
Room was perfect for us for the night but a bit dated. TV converter didn't work well with going up on channels. Could use some paint but priced excellent!
Location
Very run down and dated. Bathroom was nasty, and main door handle falling apart
The location is great and you can park right in front of your unit.
It is way overpriced. There were literally cobwebs in multiple corners, our shoes stuck to the floors, a bug squished on the wall in the bathroom, the air conditioner was noisy (but effective), tons of noise and light from outside, holes in the walls and counters, the shower head has a high pitched shriek when it’s on, the pillows were old and lumpy. They’ve got a lot of gall charging $350 per night. It’s a $100 per night hotel. It has no other amenities like a pool, playground, weight room, breakfast or anything. Don’t waste your money.
No breakfast. Great location.
There was no face clothes. No regular coffee offered, only decaf or tea
Nice room
I can hear cell phone vibrating from next room.
Free access to mini golf next door. Short walk to the beach.
Floor was dirty, no cooking pans or pots with lids in the kitchen, near noisy road, curtain didn’t close completely.
Didn’t have breakfast
The provision of facial washcloths
Housekeeping not up to standard. Belongings missing from my bag!
