The location was good, close to the town centre and right next to Highway 19A. There were plenty of parking spaces available, although not necessarily right next to the room. Our room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed, a kettle, and a mini fridge. It had everything we needed for a short stay. The staff were helpful and friendly. Motel guests could also get a discount on breakfast at the restaurant at the mini-golf course next door.

The room was noisy. The mini-golf course next door played loud music until at least midnight, despite the receptionist telling us that it would stop at 10 p.m. Even with the windows closed, we could still hear it clearly and had to use earplugs in the end. There was no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage upstairs.

The staff were kind and good location

There was black mold in the bathroom. It caused everything to smell musty/damp, obviously a water issue in the walls or under flooring. Was only offered 10% off for something that is very dangerous and affects people’s health.

Small room (ie) Room category was suitable for one person, not 2 + dog but that was only room type available; Poor box-style air circulating unit - better if they just installed ceiling fans; only one reading light; no where for 2 people to put belongings for the week. Expensive but we booked last minute.

It’s a complete dump ! And when I shown my pics to the lady at the front desk and complained she says sorry ! That’s was it she didn’t care that the room was disgusting !

A noisy air conditioner and blinds that didn’t block the street light, made sleep difficult. Noise from the upstairs rooms guaranteed an early start.

Honestly…The price was inflated…paying over $400 for a motel room of this calibre is insane. There are still very old elements of this motel that are very evident, the ceiling was falling off in the bathroom, there was a very musty smell to the room that don’t go away with the AC on like I thought it would. The kitchen area was very old.

Es hat keine Mikrowelle im Zimmer. Es richt sehr stark im Zimmer (müffelt) und muss gelüftet werden. In der Nacht ist es sehr stickig im Zimmer.

Our room was in the back and was one of the older ones AC was noisy and shower head was loose.

The first room we checked into had clearly been smoked in recently. The cigarette smell was overwhelming strong and it is supposed to be a non-smoking property within 15 metres of the building! We were able to switch rooms upon request, but the second room was not very clean either (e.g. there was leftover food under the beds). On our second day, a wasp nest fell out of the outdoor light by our door and we were swarmed by wasps when we were trying to get back into the room. We reported it to the front desk and they dealt with it quickly, to their credit. Then, on our third day the door couldn't close/lock so we couldn't leave our room safely. It was dealt with reasonably quickly (within 2 hours), but threw off our plans. Would not recommend staying here until some improvements are made. The staff are responsive, but there shouldn't have been this many issues.

Easy parking, friendly staff, nice big room & bathroom, two queen beds, kitchenette. For a family of four staying one night this was perfect, the room was well sized & had AC. We got free access to the 18 hole crazy golf course next door which was a bonus.

Rema was warmly hospitable. She made sure we knew about all the amenities, and helped us with the coffeemaker when we needed that. She made us feel so welcome and sent us off with a smile. The room was bright, the kitchenette new, and the beds and pillows super comfortable. The patio area is well situated, and the free mini-golf exceeded our expectations.

This was our second stay. The first time our only minor complaint was the music coming from the mini golf. So this time we asked for a room on the quieter area. Staff is super friendly, but even though we asked for cleaning every day, it only happened the first day. We also wanted to play mini golf on our last night but they made it a 18+ night without any warnings beforehand. The staff who was managing it was very unapologetic and rude. Our kids were deeply disappointed. I guess it is ok to say no, but the attitude was not ok at all.

Great location, clean comfortable room and very friendly helpful staff.

The hotel is in a central location close to the beach and minigolf. The rooms are basic, but functional. Everything is very clean. There are refrigerators in the rooms as well as coffee machine with capsules. A kettle can be obtained from the reception. A table outside the door can be used for breakfast. The hotel has patio with tables and a high-end BBQ. The staff is super-helpful. We were especially thankful to Rema who helped us with a stuck bathroom lock.

The Tide's Inn was perfectly lovely for a night's stay. The staff at the front desk when we checked in were very kind an accommodating. They had fresh popcorn for guests, and we were walked to our room. The room was comfortable, and it was located in a great spot. We greatly enjoy the outdoors and nature, and the inn was located less than 10 minutes from Rathtrevor Provincial Park, a great spot for walking on the beach, wildlife, and fresh air. It was located directly next to a wonderful mini golf course, which we did not have a chance to go to this time, but we absolutely plan on it during a future visit.

There was nothing wrong with Tide's Inn, but compared to several of the other hotels we stayed in during our time on Vancouver Island, it just was not quite as nice. The room was a bit dark, and it was not as clean as other similar hotels/motels. With that being said, I would still recommend it to people, as it was affordable and had friendly staff.

The room was clean and comfortable, the toiletries were awesome, and we loved the Keurig coffee. The location is excellent, and the mini golf was a great bonus!

Mini Golf

There were a couple of things we appreciated about this property. The location was convenient, and the complimentary mini golf located across the street was a fun bonus that we enjoyed during our stay.

Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The first room we were shown was in unacceptable condition. It was extremely dusty, had a strong wet-dog odor, the furniture was damaged, and there was even a dog door in the room. We requested a different room because it did not feel clean or well maintained. The second room was an improvement, but it still had an unpleasant odor that seemed to linger in the room and even in the linens. The coffee machine was filthy and clearly had not been properly cleaned. Overall, the cleanliness and upkeep of the property fell well below what we expected. For the price paid, the quality of the accommodations was disappointing. While the staff did move us to another room, the overall condition of both rooms left a poor impression, and we would not choose to stay here again.

Besonders hervorzuheben ist das außergewöhnlich freundliche und aufmerksame Personal. Man hatte jederzeit das Gefühl, dass sich wirklich um die Gäste gekümmert wird. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, geräumig und mit separatem Wohnbereich, Sofa sowie einem großen, bequemen Bett ausgestattet. Außerdem gab es ausreichend Parkplätze, einen Getränkeautomaten an der Rezeption und kostenloses salziges Popcorn, das eine nette Überraschung war. Wir hätten kostenlos Minigolf spielen können, was leider zeitlich nicht geklappt hat, aber die Anlage sah toll aus. Außerdem gab es im Café nebenan Rabatt beim Frühstück. Die Lage nahe am Wasser hat uns ebenfalls gut gefallen.

Das Hotel ist nicht mehr das neueste und wirkt an einigen Stellen etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Dies hatte jedoch keinen negativen Einfluss auf Sauberkeit oder Komfort. Es fehlte auch ein Aufzug.

Good soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Would have liked to have seen a body wash. I liked the mirror with defogger. Comfy bed.

Curtains had 2 hooks not on rod but was able to still close curtains for privacy. Noted that outlet in "kitchen" area was not aligned, but worked

Excellent place to stay. Loved the room and the beds were incredibly comfy! Also lovely staff, Rema was awesome and the afternoon popcorn was delicious!

We've stayed here several times when we are int the area and The Tide's Inn has always been a great value and meets our expectations 100%

We have no complaints. All of our expectations were met.

Super friendly staff and a super warm welcome. Comfy beds, good facilities in the room, and great to have a near-unlimited supply of coffee and tea - and popcorn :) We stayed here twice in a few days, and could finally go mini-golfing the second time, so that was a good bonus :)

The first room we checked into had the beds unmade, dirty dishes in the sink and the floor had hair everywhere. We went to the front desk to inquire and they assigned us a different room. The second room at least looked like it had been cleaned but the comforter was visibly dirty, floor had obviously not been mopped in a while and there was peeling wall paper and mold In the bathroom.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. There was free popcorn, plus we were given extra coffee pods when we asked. The rooms are really nice, updated, and clean. Plus, free mini-golf across the street!

very clean and tidy lobby, path to rooms, the room in general. Also this location was very close to local businesses and tourist hot spots !

this didn’t really bother me too much but during open hours or hours when housekeeping was working was the housekeeping cart was taking up the path to the rooms and you had to opt for walking on the rocks on the side. not much of a big deal but maybe just a little bit of a inconvenience.

Staff on the front desk were very polite and cordial.

For a 2-Star, the stay has exceeded my expectation. The room was clean; the location is ideal, and close to Qualicum Beach. Complimentary entry to the Mini-Golf next door was pleasantly enjoyable and fun. Restaurants are a short drive away.

The stretch of beach was filled with much rocks, and was not pleasant to stroll along.

The location is good for Parksville, but I would stay at qualicum beach area next time.

Our room was really unclean when we arrived, the floor was sticky and gross. There was a bad smell and surfaces were not cleaned, there were bugs (ants, beetles and a silverfish). The bedding at least however did seem cleaned. We did not know you had to request cleaning so it stayed that way. We did not get parking one night and our key stopped working and we had to get it reactivated.

Spectacular views from your bed!

No AC in this one room and it was an exceptionally hot day and night. There is no way to open a window when you sleep. The sliding patio door allows for air flow however you will lose all security if you leave it open at night to stay cool.

The room was nice.

Staff offered early check in between 8am and noon upon arrival they had offerred a late checkout to the people staying in the room we booked and they werent out till 12:30 pm then we had to wait another hour for them to clean the room. In the room it says daily housekeeping upon request only. The mroning after cheking in on of the staff came into our room while we were sleeping. Luckily our puppy didnt escape the room when they opened the door.
