The location was awesome as was the food for breakfast. The manager at the breakfast place was fantastic and Francesco at the bar was awesome as well.

The room was very small for two people, and the shower door didn’t shut all the way, so you had a little bit of water on the floor, but the hotel was exceptional

I chose this hotel solely based on other reviews so I was really hoping it would live up to the ratings and it definitely did! This is a lovely boutique hotel minutes from the Duomo. The location could not have been better for having a centrally located place! It was easy to walk to and from our hotel and go back if we forgot something or just needed a breather between sightseeing. The room was amazing! We had 4 of us so I booked a room with two queen beds (not easy to find in Europe!) and they upgraded us to a two bedroom suite with two bathrooms. This was such a nice surprise and perfect for our college-age kids to have their own space. I would highly recommend this room for families if you can swing it! Great bed, beautiful bathrooms, robes, slippers, great bath products, free snacks and drinks in mini fridge which they stocked daily (just remember to hang the sign on your door before you leave for the day that you want your room cleaned), great air conditioning, apertivo spread at 6pm in the bar/lounge. One of the highlights in addition to the beautiful room and amazing staff was definitely the incredible breakfast! A huge selection of delicious food and the most welcoming staff who brought me my cappuccino right away! The food was all delicious and even motivated our young adult daughters to wake up early enough to eat before our sightseeing tours started. We have since stayed at other hotels in different cities on our Italy trip and this was our nicest stay by far (plus Florence is so great)!

The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the city, with most places within easy walking distance and enjoyable. The staffs were exceptionally warm, kind, and welcoming. Excellent! We love Hotel Spadai! This was our second stay, previously 8 years ago. It was amazing then and now! We had 2 rooms, both were extremely clean, bright, comfortable and modern. The staff is excellent, everyone we met was fantastic. The location is amazing - right beside the Duomo- it was so easy to get everywhere and back for breaks from the heat! We could walk in a loop in each direction using the hotel as the centre and come back to get refreshed & go out again, in the heatwave that was so helpful! The breakfast is 10/10 - fresh, homemade, delicious! So many choices! Aperitivo is wonderful in the evening with great drinks, snacks & atmosphere. The free minibar is amazing- drinks & snacks saved us so much between meals! I wish we stayed longer!

We had a nice stay at this lovely boutique hotel in a great location in Florence. The area is safe and very walkable. The hotel is comfortable and elegant. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Florence.

The location is absolutely fantastic, and the staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Everything about my stay was great, and if I return to Florence, I would definitely stay here again. They also offer a very convenient valet parking service. You can drive directly to the hotel, drop off your luggage, and the hotel staff will take your car and park it for you at a nearby external parking facility. You only pay the daily parking fee for the parking facility itself; the hotel’s valet service is provided for your convenience. Whenever you need your car, just let them know and they will bring it back to the hotel for you. A special thanks to Michele, who was extremely kind, helpful, and went above and beyond to assist me throughout my stay. Overall, a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!

We loved the air conditioner in the room. In the summer July heat this was very important to us. The hotel is located close to everything, we walked everywhere from there, and the room was very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

This hotel cannot be beat for the central location. The included breakfast was too tier - amazing array of fresh fruits, pastries, pancakes, yogurt, salad, charcuterie, eggs, bacon, sausage and espresso or coffee. The snacks in the mini bar were also complimentary. The hotel was very clean and less than 5 minute walk to the Duomo. I would stay here again!

Hotel Spadai exceeded our expectations! The location is absolutely unbeatable—you can stand right in front of the hotel and can see the Duomo. It was the perfect base for exploring Florence, with the Accademia Gallery (home of Michelangelo's David) only about a 10-minute walk away, and many other major attractions within easy walking distance. One thing we especially appreciated was the air conditioning. We visited during very hot weather, and the room stayed wonderfully cool and comfortable, making it a welcome retreat after a day of sightseeing. The hotel itself has a beautiful ambiance, excellent amenities, and a warm, welcoming staff who made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We truly loved our stay at Hotel Spadai and would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to Florence. Highly recommended!

Everything about this stay was perfect from the service to the rooms and the staff. Location is great within steps to everything. The staff was so helpful prior to our arrival as they were able to secure us a dinner reservation at a place that only took phone reservations. I stayed at the Hotel Spadai for three nights at the beginning of a multiple city trip, and I absolutely loved it. First off, the location is amazing. It's about 100m from the Piazza Del Duomo, which made it a great 'home-base' for exploring Florence. During my stay, it was easy to leave the hotel, explore, come back for a mid-day break from the heat, then head out again for dinner. The only time I ever used a taxi was going to and from the airport. The staff were also wonderful. When I first arrived, I was a bit frazzled because my luggage had been delayed at my layover airport. The staff at the front desk were welcoming, spoke great English, and reassured me that once my bags did make it to the hotel, they would contact me directly and have them delivered to my room. The accommodations were also wonderful. My room was spacious, well lit, and very comfortable, with good AC. The bathroom was large, and I really liked that the shower had a full length glass door, which kept the rest of the bathroom dry. I want to especially shout out the housekeeping staff for how incredibly clean the room was. On one day of my stay, I came back to my room to find a little card under the corner of the bed with a message along the lines of "we clean everywhere", and on my last night, there was a nice card with chocolates. Those were great touches that made my stay all the more special. All in all, Hotel Spadai was the perfect place to stay in Florence, and I look forward to staying with them again.

Incredible service! Was upgraded when I got there to a better room. They forgot my coffee a little bit late one morning so they gave me a a gift at the front desk and apologize profusely. The tray on my bed every morning with a beautiful breakfast was incredible.

What a wonderful experience at Hotel Spadai! Our first trip to Florence and we couldn't have picked a better hotel. We stayed with them for 3 nights and it was well priced. It was over 100 degrees outside and the AC was amazing in our room. It is centrally located, safe and easy to navigate everything we wanted to see. The breakfast is fabulous -- fresh fruit, eggs, sausage, pastries and more. Definitely get breakfast with your room. It makes it so easy to grab something good before you head out for the day. The staff (loved Marco at the front desk) was so friendly and helpful. Our room was clean from the start and cleaned/organized when we came back everyday. Lastly, they stock the mini refrigerator with nice stuff that is included in your room rate. I love that there isn't a nickel and diming feel to this hotel. The rooms were so nice. So many hotels we went to had mediocre hairdryers and theirs was amazing. From hotel robes to magnifying mirrors in the bathrooms, you can tell this hotel really pays attention to the details. It made our stay coming from the US easy. They had everything we needed. I would 100% stay here again. Loved it!

We stayed here at the start of the heat wave in June 2026. We were so thankful that the location was so close to the Duomo. We were able to take a few hours walking through the city and come back to the hotel for so much needed AC. (The AC was amazing!) The service of the staff was really great as well. They helped us with arranging a transfer to the airport at 4:30 in the morning. The only thing of note is because the hotel is so close to the city center, it can be noisy at night. We only had one night of our entire stay where we noticed some loud people returning home after a late night out. I look forward to returning!

Breakfast buffet was extensive, mini bar included in room and restocked daily. AC was fabulous, which is rare to find in Italy so that alone was a treat given the heat wave. Lobby bar is cute and has complimentary cold water/iced tea available thought the day. They also offer a free drink at the bar per room and the bar also has light apps for those partaking. Lots of nice little extras wherever you turn. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. GF bkfst options available. Not extensive but much appreciated. Can’t beat the location either. We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Spadai this past month. We'd never stayed there before but the unrelentingly positive reviews - especially in regards to location - swayed us and we are so glad we listened. We visited Firenze in the midst of the heat wave they're experiencing, thanks to the heat dome parked over Europe. Having the ability to return home to our hotel several times over the course of the day to cool down in the excellent (and silent!) air con was invaluable. We took several showers each day, cooled down and then returned to our adventuring. The location simply could not have been more ideal, period, but especially in this instance. Service and hospitality was unfailingly gracious. Everyone smiled and greeted us, filled water bottles for us, and really just sort of exuded a quietly positive vibe that we appreciated. Our room was spacious and shockingly quiet for how central the location was. We heard minimal street noise and the blackout curtains did their job. Air conditioning is always a gamble - as I mentioned, ours was silent. It was a joy to retreat to our room and then gentle turndown service each day was welcome. The water pressure was fantastic (not always the case in Europe!) and the wifi worked. If you buy a drink at the bar during happy hour, they'll ply you with a buffet of bar snacks which was also welcome. As has been mentioned, the contents of the minibar are free and replenished daily and the breakfast on the top floor is fit for kings. We aren't big breakfast people but went up for takeaway coffee each morning and enjoyed a bounty of a fruit plate. There was a spa that we didn't have the opportunity to take advantage of but sounded like you could easily lose an hour or two to a massage. Overall, a really excellent stay without a single downside that I can think of to share. Oftentimes its "oh this was so great except..." but there wasn't an except. You could argue it doesn't have all the amenities of a higher end luxury hotel, and it does not, but if you're seeking those, then you already know that. We will look forward to returning again on future visits.

This hotel blew our expectations. Less than 5 minutes from the Duomo, the hotel is a luxurious retreat in a sea of tourism. We were surprised with a welcome drink on arrival and loved the hotel bar. The room was gorgeous and comfortable. We’d absolutely stay here again for how clean it was, how kind the staff was, and how close it is to all the things you want to see in Florence.

Wunderschönes Hotel neben einem Palazzo. Wir hatten ein sehr schön renoviertes Deluxe-Zimmer im 3. OG mit großzügiger Dusche, sehr bequemem Bett, wunderbarem Frühstück und kostenloser Minibar. Die Lage ist unschlagbar, da im Zentrum mit Nähe zu vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten und trotzdem sehr ruhig. Unser E-Fahrzeug wurde per Valet-Parkservice gegen Aufpreis nach Ankunft zum Laden geholt und zum gewünschten Zeitpunkt zurückgebracht. Ein sehr praktischer Service, da das Hotel am Anfang einer verkehrsberuhigten Zone liegt und ohnehin kein Fahrzeug im Zentrum benötigt wird.

Just back from our first trip to Florence, Italy we chose the Hotel Spadai for our stay. We(mostly my wife) do a lot of research before booking any travel and this choice was possibly the best we've ever made in over 40 years together. A GREAT location(our room had a view of the Duomo 2 blocks away) - central to so many of the most desired locations to see. Wish I could pick out 1 or 2 staff for praise, but they were all GREAT - from the Reception Desk to the Staff of Breakfast Buffet. And what a buffet! Fresh daily made pastries - excellent! Eggs, cheeses, fresh fruit - whatever you might want. If you go to Florence, you must consider staying at Hotel Spadai!

The hotel is beautiful and very upscale. The rooms are nice with lots of amenities and robes and slippers. The breakfast buffet is enormous and delicious. A real treat.

I had a truly wonderful stay at Hotel Spadai! The location is absolutely fantastic, just a couple of minutes' walk from the Duomo and right next to Palazzo Medici Riccardi. The customer service was outstanding. The staff were always smiling, polite, and incredibly helpful. They assisted with everything from directions and shopping tips to restaurant reservations and booking my taxi. A lovely surprise was the complimentary minibar, which was a fantastic touch! The rooms were clean, beautiful, and perfectly maintained with daily housekeeping, and the bathroom was excellent and of a very high standard. The air conditioning worked flawlessly, and the breakfast was delicious. As a bonus, there is a convenient tabaccheria right next door, which was perfect for sending postcards. I highly recommend Hotel Spadai and would definitely stay here again!

Spadai is an outstanding hotel! We stayed at multiple hotels during our Italy trip and this was hands down our favorite stay. The staff is really friendly and helpful and the location is hard to beat, minutes away from the Duomo. The hotel seems newly renovated with comfortable beds and the most generous amenity kits. The highlight for us was the morning breakfast - the buffet was extremely well stocked with fresh fruit, pastries etc. The breakfast staff and kitchen went out of their way to accommodate allergies and deserve a special shoutout!

Hotel Spadai was highly recommended to us by my sister-in-law. She constantly raves about the place, and I could totally see why. The hotel was centrally located, and it's one of the more modern, elegant hotels we've stayed at during our trip. The Duomo and Piazza Santa Maria Novella were steps away from the hotel, and it's a less than 10 minute taxi to the train station. Their complimentary breakfast was amazing. They offered a huge variety of items including hot food, tortes, cereals, fruit, cheeses, parfaits, quiches, etc. I enjoyed a latte every morning with them. Our room at Hotel Spadai was excellent. Very spacious with tall ceilings and had plenty of room for us to lay out 2 large pieces of luggage and 2 small carry-ons. The bathroom was big as well, but the shower was disproportionate to it. The shower felt so much smaller, and what's weird was its two double doors. The doors met at the corner of the shower and didn't close all the way, so water could easily escape to the floor. Other than that, I would 1000% stay at this hotel again next time I'm in Florence.

We stayed at Hotel Spadai and it exceeded my expectations. The hotel was spotless and the staff were amazing. On top of that, you cannot beat the location. If I return to Florence, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
