Friendly, welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast.

Parking was very limited. Floors in bedroom and corridors creaked.

Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Staff were very friendly and the dining area was very clean.

My room (311) is clearly set up for disabled guests which is fine. I am able bodied. I was uncomfortable about the door adjoining room 310. Although I could see it was 'locked' there was a knob which suggested I could unlock so assume my neighbour could too. The door meant NO noise suppression at all. I could literally hear everything going on in room 310. I moved the table in front of the door to allow me to relax during the night. The car park was full meaning parking on the council car park next door. Fine except I had to get up early to put a ticket on the car by 8am.

Das Hotel befand sich sehr nah am Bahnhof. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer war schön groß und sauber, und selbiges gilt für das Badezimmer. Außerdem war das Hotel sehr günstig. Das Frühstück war im Preis inbegriffen. Es gab nicht so viele Auswahlmöglichkeiten, war aber lecker und vollkommen ausreichend.

Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche war nicht optimal (je länger man duschte, desto mehr nahm der Druck ab), und die Duschbrause war sehr ungünstig angebracht.

I would first like to point out the excellent reception and cleaning staff they have here at this hotel. We stay in many holiday Inns and this has got to be one of the friendliest reception teams we have met. They work really hard too as they run the bar and they are always very busy juggling several things at once but it does not stop them from being excellent. Always greeted with a smile and a chat no matter what time of day or night. These ladies absolutely are what makes this place so special.

I didn't want to write anything negative on this review because I didn't want it to reflect the overall hotel but I want to also be honest. The restaurant was just a total let down. It was never open on time and once we sat waiting for the supposed 5pm opening and it didn't so we went out to eat instead which is a shame as the menu looked good. But the worst was one of the mornings we went for breakfast. It was a Saturday so it was served until 10am, we got down at half 9 and the guy running breakfast didn't look best pleased and wasn't very friendly. We got a bit of toast stuck in the toaster machine and my little one went to tell him and he came over and as he arrived it popped out and I said, 'oh sorry it was stuck' and he didn't say anything just walked off. He was checking his watch constantly while we were there and especially at 10 minutes to 10. There were people hovering around close to 10am to get drinks ect and as soon as it hit 10am on the dot, he went ans switched absolutely everything off including the hot drinks machine. Left a lot of people confused and told them to go get hot water from the bar. Within a few minutes, there was a queue of people at the bar getting hot water for tea while the poor receptionist was trying to serve them all and be a receptionist (again she just got on with it and was so lovely). I sat and watched all this in shock. Pure rude and he clearly didn't want to be there. Made me wonder if this was the same person who just opens the restaurant whenever he feels like it. Please sort out the restaurant management. We didn't come down for breakfast the following day incase he was there (yes my 8 year old also noticed his rudeness). The other breakfast staff seemed nice though. This wouldn't deter us from staying again but we might just not factor in that theres a restaurant if it's still run in the same way.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the 2 women working on the front desk as we arrived in the afternoon, room was clean and had everything we needed. Good location close to lots of places around it. Very happy with the stay!

The only thing I can think of is having to pay for the parking, usually would be included in the price of the stay, but not really a deal breaker

We were 3 adults . a massive sofa bedand ,1 double bed . Room was too congested for 3 adults.No walk around room

Staff were very helpful and accommodating as it was my pre wedding day night and did all they could tohelp me. Very welcoming. Air conditioning.

Unfortunately water pressure disappeared around 12am on the Saturday morning just before my son was getting ready for his wedding and was unable to shower and shave or used the toilet so had to visit another hotel to get ready for his big day

We had great stay here, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, Aircon was a godsend and they have a really good breakfast selection. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We would like to say a special thank you to Sarah and Jayden, they literally made our stay, they're so friendly and always put a smile on our faces when we saw them. They're a credit to your company....We will definitely be back to stay again. x

The fact that the car park you have to pay for is not the best especially when staying over night. Our sink didn’t drain very well in room 311 but forgot to mention it

Upon checking in the member of staff made us feel very unwelcome. We explained that my father had been in the day before to confirm we would be able to check into our room early. This was agreed with management, yet when we got to reception they were very rude about it. Furthermore upon leaving we spoke to someone at reception to check out, handed over the key and was wished a ‘good stay’??. 10 minutes later I have an email from someone claiming to be from holiday inn Grimsby wanting my card details to make payment. When I informed this person I was not comfortable sharing my card details over email, they told me ‘you have to call us then’ as if this was my error?! I was under the impression payment would be taken via the card details I provided with booking.com, and was disappointed that I was not afforded the courtesy of a phone call to explain the situation. Finally when I did call to make payment, I was placed on hold for several minutes and then spoke to someone who not only was very abrupt, but proceeded to read my card details back to me for anyone to hear!! I am appalled at the lack of security.

Staff were all excellent and done everything we asked them, especially the girls on reception who got us an early check-in, as the funeral we were attending was early.

Room was small for a Holiday Inn the shower wouldn't drain, flooded room, no hair dryer in toilet , tea and coffee making facilities in room were poor, there was no fresh air in the room also it was very warm and the hotel was short staffed. I've stayed in holiday Inn express and double tree by Hilton, Hilton is by far the better.

Booked by mistake, the wrong night , booked the correct night nbut gouldnt change date even though you had money for that date, mistakes happen but cost me twice, not allowing any kind of compinsation not impreesed as used that hotel on many occassions

Ordered food. No room service. I’m disabled and Had to make two trips to collect the food myself from the bar. The food was cold and not very good quality and not nice. When I collected food and told receptionist it was cold she just said well we got it you as quick as possible. Ok quick, but it’s cold

No ventilation in the room, can't anso open windows. We were 3 people in one room. Ventilation really needed. Air conditioning timed on cooling, wake up because too cold in the room. But everything else was very good.
