The staff were super friendly and helpful.

Unknown before I booked, the hotel had been having power issues for which they had been closed for previously. When I arrived, it was on a generator which was having issues so a number of power cuts happened during my one night stay. The bath facilities were also lacking and I had to switch rooms later in the evening.

Good location and nice to have food on site.

Mattresses were very uncomfortable. Probably make me not go again.

You arrive thinking you’ve got the wrong place: looks like a 70s office block, and not a very nice one! But inside is a spotless, modernised and good quality hotel with comfortable rooms. The staff were really welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was of a really high standard and very generous. Even the bar is reasonably priced!

Had a lovely one night stay recently. Large room with table and 2 chairs. Could not find the tv remote and phoned reception who brought one to the room. Hotel is looking dated now and due for refurbishment. Breakfast was not all self serve for a full english ,this had to be ordered. Would definitely stay here again. £93 for a double room witg 2 breakfasts.

It looks like alcatraz, had to pay an extra £100 “deposit” on arrival which i was not aware of, as well as getting emails stating i needed to pay for the rooms that i had booked, even though i chose to pay on arrival!!, milk in room was curdled, i asked if it was 24 hour reception (open) and i was told it was, to then have to stand outside for 10 mins waiting to be let in as the door was locked

The staff were friendly.

The breakfast was awful. I mentioned to a member of staff about the curdled milk, they did nothing. The yoghurts, milk, Cheese etc should have been on ice. The staff have radios and everyone around can hear the conversation about other guests, not professional.

Staff friendly and helpful, room was clean and tidy and had an upgrade so the benefit of a balcony and view of the golf course. Location was ideal for getting into town for meetings.

Carpets looking a bit tired and the continental breakfast option was basic. Didn't have cooked breakfast but the poached eggs on toast was good. Although the outside looks very tired and definitely needs updating the inside is absolutely fine

Having checked out on Monday 31st August 2026, presently on Wednesday 2nd September 2026 I am still waiting for my £100 deposit from Humber Royal Hotel. This is my only issue

Handy location for Grimsby and Cleethorpes. Much nicer inside than it appears from the outside.

Noisy guests drinking outside on the bar terrace but thankfully not for too long.

Friendly efficient staff and spacious clean rooms

Arrived to find the hotel closed apparently due to a power outage. They had booked us into St James in Grimsby, didn't stay it was in a bad area, hotel way past it's best, no comparison at all. Had to book and pay again for another hotel. We are hoping for a refund but not holding out much hope as it says on company house Adhams group is in liquidation.

We didn't stay. When we arrived there were no lights on in the hotel, the entrance door had a poster on it saying "For enquiries call ..." and then a mobile number. It looked like an abandoned building. Honestly the most shocking experience of any hotel we've ever seen. We drove off.

We were suppose to stay at the Humber royal Hotel for 14 nights, BUT week one we had a faulty fire alarm and the hotel had to be evacuated at 03.45hours we returned to the room 30 minutes later - There was no roll call or head count of the number of guests while we were at the muster point. Also later in the morning two workman came to our room and removed the fire alarm and it was never refitted during our stay Week two - electrical power failure in the building, and we were told at 16.30 we had to relocate to another hotel, the only Hotel they offered was not like for like it was a 3 Star 'Contractors Hotel' next to a building site in the middle of Grimsby Still waiting for the £100 taken at the time of check in to be returned. No apologies from the Hotel manager The experience totally ruined our planned holiday in Lincolnshire

The hotel offered more than expected and as a first time visitor, was able to adapt and make usage of the facilities, surroundings and felt comfortable. Nothing was trouble for the staff, who always attempted to accommodate any request.

I understand that supply issues can be out of your hands, but we're still offered a more than reasonable goods and service. The building was to warm, again major works would have to be done to mitigate and be costly, moving forward if we are to experience hotter climates, but understand if restrictions are in place to prevent future works.

Exterior could do with improvement - it doesn’t reflect how nice it is in the interior.

Sofa bed wasn't made up/no spare bedding for sofa bed. No non-slip bath matt in the bathroom. Only 2 sets of towels for 3 guests Rooms were very warm (no air-con) Stains on the bedding & mattress protector/carpet Food/bits under the bed

Staff absolutely fantastic. Food was amazing and so so nice. Room was fine. What I expected.

Only thing was and this wasn't a problem. Shower gel was empty and the shower curtain had mould on it.

Being put in a room above the wedding party is not greatly thought out....maybe don't use that level for people who aren't with the party or place others at the other end of the hotel. It was incredibly loud and went on til midnight. Breakfast was quite nice, provided soya milk for my little girl on asking. The watermelon looked like it had been cut with a blunt hatchet and even though we arrived for breakfast at 9, there was only 1 strawberry in the bowl of fruit and this wasn't replenished.

We liked the disability access room and particularly the wet room, we thought it could have been improved by installation of air conditioning. The Staff from Reception, through to Restaurant Staff and Housekeeping were all very good and helpful

Breakfast was very good, however we were surprised that with 2 pieces of bacon and 2 sausages, on our breakfasts, that we were only given one egg, unlike the photo of 2 eggs on the breakfast menu card., and then were surprised at being charged extra for the requested additional egg, when we had paid over £300 for the weekends stay @ the Humber Royal Hotel. We came back Saturday evening and were hoping for a drink in the hotel bar, but we were told the bar was closed due to a wedding function, the bars shelves had been cleared and there was no possibility of buying any drinks.

Hotel was dirty dead plants on the stairwells. Badly looked after. No food Sunday night .it certainly didn't warrant paying £100 per night and without breakfast. Also continental poor . Unappetising looked as though it had been lying about. Very poor all round

I didn't enjoy the stay at all . Everything grubby. Staff very nice. Needs a good manager to pull it up . It needs a complete refurbishment which I understand is going to happen but just make the best of a very bad job .

Outside of building horrendous- I almost did not go in! Needs some TLC. Stains on bedroom carpet and hall carpet. Mould round edge of bath, hair in plug hole. Disgusting so I did not shower or bath or turn the bathroom light on

The staff were really friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The room was clean. The hot breakfast was nice too.

The cold breakfast options were poor and very limited. The common areas in and around the hotel lobby were grubby in places. Parts of the décor and building façade were damaged which is not a good look for a 4-star hotel. Some of the interior is dated.

The room was clean on arrival and the location was convenient.

We were woken early by people playing golf outside. Housekeeping made the bed but left dirty glasses and the rubbish in our room. The tap water was warm and when we asked if there was bottled water, which we was going to pay for anyway, we were told there wasn’t any left but changed his mind when we said we would pay for it at an overpriced cost. Overall, the experience didn’t reflect the price we paid.

The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed although the main Hotel needs modernising and decoration. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. Many thanks.

Room I booked wasn't room I received. Tv broken had clearly been damaged by previous guest. Mold in bathroom and toilet that was cracked and flush not working properly. Stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions so was very disappointed.

Breakfast was disappointing, had to ask for replenishment of several items (juices, glasses, milk, cups, etc.) and only standard filter coffee available in flask. Limited facilities at hotel and a bit dated, no phone charger points in rooms.

Breakfast was good, location perfect for our stay. Young staff who were all very professional and friendly.

Having stayed at the Humber Royal about 14 yrs ago, I felt the hotel was looking rather tired and could do with a touch up. Slight fusty smell in the corridor, mould in the shower and there was a half eaten biscuit on the floor. Not sure if I would prefer a Premier Inn should we ever return.

The staff was brilliant and always smiling and very helpful,I'm never disappointed with everything the hotel provides,and I must also mention the cleaning staff on a great job on cleaning my room..

Having no Aircon which would've helped more than a fan apart from that nothing else..

The rooms are great overlooking the golf course near big trees. Staff are excellent, very friendly and a credit to the hotel.

Front needs a facelift, lift needs sorting. Breakfast coms need sorting out - mine was forgotten and I had to leave for work!

Where do I start … dirty room, dirty walls, splashes and marks up them. Stayed during a heatwave and the bathroom towel rail was on full blast and apparently unable to be turned off according to the staff. It was unbearable. It was also broken with wires hanging out. I was there for 3 nights, reported it as soon as I’d checked in, and no-one even came to look at it. The lift also broke and I was multiple floors up, which in a heatwave in a building with no air con really wasn’t fun.

Convenient location - having a balcony with a view over the golf course was a bonus especially in the hot weather.

Unfortunately I had white stains on the bed throw, a broken balcony door that wouldn’t lock and my sink was broken too. The hallway and rooms smell very damp and musky. The second room everything worked perfectly but smelled even worse than the other

The £100 charge just in case , feel that you tap your card then if anything had to be added taken of your card , the reception knows when you leave if theres any extras⁸

We slept well, bed was ok. Hotel looked much nicer inside which was a pleasant surprise and there was plenty of parking.

No AC in this heat was kinda rough, we did have a fan but it circulates the warm air, thankfully it cooled down the evenings we stayed. The £100 hold fee was difficult to get back. Different staff gave different information or misleading information.

Having stayed here before we knew what we were going to. The receptionist Sarah was excellent and went to great lengths to make sure everything was OK. All the other staff were very good also. The room was good and clean and was quiet at night. The bed was comfortable.

The buffet Breakfast could be better but the cooked breakfast was very good. The front of the building seriously needs some TLC. If I was a stranger to the place I would think twice about going in. But once inside everything is very good.

Nice clean spacious room, with working desk. Ate in the restaurant once, decent evening meal and selection for a reasonable price.
